Thank you, it’s nice so far! Happy new year! You are not late at all. I sadly had to put that fic on hiatus for much longer than I wanted or planned to.

But I already have 2.5 of the 4 chapters written, just not posted anywhere. I’m contemplating wrapping it up later this month and releasing all the chapters at once. So for now, stay tuned! Save the below post, once it’s all up on A03, I’ll add the link there.

I’m looking forward to sharing once it’s ready. Ideally, later this month (after the 20th).

She’s an electrical storm

Dazzling with light and intensity.

And I would gladly stand

Like a fool, arms outstretched,

Just to be struck down by her.

Awash with emotion, you stare down at Ricky as he recites his poem in front of the class. His eyes, those brown hazel eyes, shining with love and adoration staring up in your direction and for a brief moment you think it’s about you. Your heart hopes it’s about you but that thought quickly vanishes when you turn to see Laura sitting beside you. When did she get here?

She’s smiling down at him as she twirls a piece of her hair with her fingers.

“God he’s so hot. I bet that was so about me. I mean look at the way he’s looking at me.”

“Yeah I guess,” you say slightly deflated. Your eyes sneaking a glance at Ricky as he takes the steps two at a time, reclaiming his seat behind you. It hurts. This feeling that is building inside you and settling at the back of your throat. Trying so hard not to cry at his declaration of love for your friend.

“Hey. What did you think of my poem?” Ricky says smiling at you as his fingers brush your shoulder. Opening your mouth to reply, Laura interjects.

“Ricky it was so beautiful, you shouldn’t have.”

He turns his gaze to her with a confused look on his face, “I actually didn’t write…”

“Are you coming to Tom’s party tonight?” She says looking between you both. “Actually I don’t think I will, I’ve a lot of work to catch up on, but you to ahead.”

“Suit yourself. What about you Ricky?”

“Excuse me Ms Smith, am I boring you? If you have something more interesting to say please, do share with the class.”

“Sorry sir.”

Focusing back on Mr Clark you fail to notice the way Ricky is looking at you, a mix of love and hurt on his face.

Somehow Laura had roped you into coming to this stupid party, you would rather be anywhere else. Deciding to sit outside on the deck away from everyone you can see through the glass doors straight into the kitchen. You liked this. The small bit of quiet away from the loud ruckus of the party inside.

His laugh catches your attention first. That beautiful smile that sparkles on his face and the way his eyes crinkle. Why did you have to fall in love with him? Seemed this always happened to you. You would really like someone only for them to love someone else. You knew you weren’t the prettiest but surely someone would love you.

Eyes drifting to him again you see him standing talking to Laura, her hand on his arm as she laughs at something he says and you feel sick. That nauseous feeling settling into the pit of your stomach. You had to leave. You couldn’t watch this. No one would even notice you were gone anyway. Sneaking back inside you grab your jacket and purse and slide out the front door. The night has grown colder and you wrap your jacket tighter around you as you start to walk home. You begin to hum as the night air swirls around you, failing to notice the truck pulling up behind you.

“Y/N, hey wait up.”

“Ricky? What..why aren’t you back at the party?”

“I saw you leave and I had to come after you,” he says running up to you. His eyes taking in the dress you have on before coming back to meet yours.

“You didn’t have too, I’ll be ok. I only live around the corner. You should head back, Laura is probably wondering where you got too.”

“Yeah she probably is.” He’s standing right in front of you now, his hands in his jean pockets as he rocks back and dirt on his heals.

“You…you never answered me the other day. About my poem. Did you…did you like it?”

“It was really beautiful. You truly have a talent Ricky, I just know you’re going to go places.”

“Thanks. I’m no good with words, well actually it’s more telling people how I feel. It’s easier to put it all down on paper.”

“I get that. There are things I’d love to say but I can’t so I write them in my journal.”

“Yeah? Like what?”

“Oh…eh well…”

“Ricky there you are,” Laura shouts as she rushes down the street out of breath. Both of your heads turn towards her and that light feeling you had is gone. Turning back to Ricky you find him already looking at you. Laura slides up beside him linking her arm with his.

“Come on Ricky the party isn’t over yet. Y/N can find her own way home, right?” She says turning her gaze to you, flashing you a look that says if you don’t agree you will regret it.

“Yeah you go on, have fun. You deserve it.”

“See, she’ll be fine now come on.”

Ricky doesn’t move though. In fact he doesn’t say anything at all. He just stands there his eyes glued to you.

“No I’m good. I’m gonna head out too,” he says unlinking his arm from Laura’s.

“I thought you liked me? You wrote that poem…”

“About Y/N.”

“What?” You and Laura say in unison. He’s looking at you now. Only you.

“I wrote that poem about you. Actually I write all of them about you. You haven’t noticed how I’m looking at you as I recite them?”

“I thought you were looking at Laura.”

He’s shaking his head as he inches closer, his hand wrapping around your waist pulling you close. Your breath hitches at the feel of his warm skin on yours.

“You like me?”

“No. I don’t like you, I love you. I’ve always loved you, since we were kids.”

“I love you too.” Ricky smiles down at you as he begins to lean in closer. His breath fanning your face as his lips inch closer to yours. When they meet your own you both get caught up the moment that you both forget about Laura until she clears her throat. Pulling back slightly but not letting go, Ricky turn to her.

“I’m sorry if you thought it was about you I didn’t mean to lead you on, but I’ve always loved Y/N.”

Laura says nothing at first but then slowly a smile creeps onto her face. “You know I think I always kinda knew. You too will make a great couple. Anyway I better get back, take care of her.”

I will.”

“So,” he says his hand cupping your cheek, “will you be my girlfriend?”

“Yeah.”

6 months later..

Standing in the hallway talking to his mom you let out a giggle as his arms wrap around you from behind. His face buried into the crook of your neck as he kisses the skin there.

“Ricky…baby your mom is right there.”

“She doesn’t mind.”

“I’ll leave you two to it. Have fun tonight and you look so handsome Ricky.”

“Thanks mom,” he says lifting his face slightly to smile at her before returning to peppering kisses along your neck. He pulls you closer and you throw your head back on his shoulder in laughter. The moment is caught on camera by Joey who smiles brightly at you both. Happy his brother finally had something good in his life.

“Come on baby or we are going to be late.”

“We could always skip it? Just go get some food me and you.”

“Ricky it’s our school dance, we have to go, besides Laura would hunt us down if we didn’t go.”

“Ok. Come on so.”

His hands are running up along your sides as he kisses along your neck. He’s nestled himself between your bare thighs, the head of his cock poking at your core. He pulls back and looks you straight in the eyes. So much love and devotion shining through.

“Are you sure baby? I can wait, I’d wait forever for you.”

“Ricky I’m sure, I want this. I want you.”

“Ok.” He lifts off the bed and grabs the condom from his trouser pocket, ripping the foil with his teeth before rolling it on his hard length. Moving back between your tight he pumps himself before lining up at your entrance and slowly pushing inside. There’s a little pain, more of a pinch really as he pushes fully inside,m. Stopping to let you adjust he kiss you passionately waiting for you to tell him to move.

“Please move Ricky.”

It’s slow and sensual and he kisses and caresses you like he worshiping every inch of your skin. He’s like a sinner and your the only way to get redemption. The pain subsides into pleasure as you cry out his name. He follows shortly after and you both just lay there, until he finally pulls out and discards the condom. Laying back in bed he pulls you close, his hand gently cupping your cheek.

“Are you ok baby? Did I hurt you?”

“No that was…that was amazing baby. I love you. How was it for you?”

“Amazing and I want to do it again,” he says kissing along you jaw. You laugh at his lust blown eyes.

“Why do you think I booked the room for the night?”

“You really are an electrical storm baby and I love you so much.” He looks at you now, something hidden behind his eyes. “What?”

“Nothing just…I hope you know that I plan on marrying you one day?”

“Well whenever you ask, my answer will be yes.”

While working on my recent video, I accidentally came up with the fic idea of Omar Assarian being, like, combined with Ricky Hauk’s love of poetry. So it would be that Omar is being trained to be a boxer cuz that’s what his father wants, but really his passion is poetry and only Reader knows that/encourages him to pursue it. About: With mounting pressure at home, and his job closing, Ricky falls into a depression. The sight of a pretty girl seems like the first nice thing that’s happen to him in a while, but his fixation on her almost causes him to miss who he was truly meant to meet.

Warnings: depression, angst, sex, a kind of toxic relationship mainly bc they’re addicted to each-other. Insecurity on Rickys part, bb has low self esteem. I usually stay far away from virgin characters (not my thing at allllll) but in this, Ricky is and it will come up. Trauma and an abusive parent is a warning here, if you watched his episode (touched by an Angel) or read about it, then you know. I won’t go into detail but just letting you know it’s mentioned and reflected upon.

The next day

As the yellow garage came into view, Jacqui continued to fight with herself. She could have gone to the other station, but the look on Rickys face broke her heart.

She knew getting gas here wouldn’t help, it wouldn’t fix the fact that his work was stolen. Even still, the desire to see him and offer her sympathies bugged her all night. She eventually gave in and drove over. Now that she’s here, it feels like a stupid idea; they’re strangers, what comfort could she be?

It’s too late now. Ricky walked out of the shop and over to her car. His big brown eyes full of sadness as a small frown remains fixed to his lips. When he reached the car, the solemn expression on his face lifted, lightening for just a moment.

Jacqui smiled at him, “Hi, just want to fill up the tank.”

“Uh - Okay.”

Ricky’s eyes were even more beautiful up close. He stared at her for a moment, then proceeded to fill the tank. As Jacqui got out of the car, his eyes jumped to her briefly before he returned to work.

It’s silent between them as Ricky finishes up. He glanced at her once again, then became instantly flustered, a cute awkward smile drew on his lips. In return, Jacqui smiled back.

“Hey, I know it’s not my business but, “ she leaned against the side of the car, “yesterday in class - sorry that jerk stole your poem.”

Ricky swallowed, “how did you know?”

“Your reaction. That's a really messed up thing to do to someone. Sorry that happened to you.”

Ricky dropped his gaze to the ground and shifted in place, “well, there’s always gonna be guys like that who do anything to succeed and guys like me who get stepped on along the way.”

“That's why it’s important we stand up for ourselves, it’s that or keep getting stepped on. Even if we can’t change what happened.”

Ricky shrugged, he didn’t like talking about this kind of thing, standing up for himself, speaking up - it brings up too many memories he tries hard to suppress.

“Why bother?” He dropped his voice lower, seeming defeated.

“Why not?” She waited until he made eye contact again, “even if we lose, we gotta fight, we gotta defend ourselves, and that includes our work. Our art, our words. It's our intellectual property and that poem in class, those are your words Ricky, not his. They came from your heart-”

Ricky interrupted her, “Yeah I don't - guys like me just,” he shook his head and turned toward the building, “ - we should get you settled at the register.”

Jaqui sighed.

She felt bad for laying it on. Maybe small town folks dont talk about things the way people back home do. “Sorry, if I made you uncomfortable. Back home we just - you know, to the point, shoot straight and all that.”

“It’s fine.” Ricky glanced at her once more, then led the way to the shop.

Jaqui followed him in. The air has turned now and everything just feels - awkward. She can tell he’s sensitive to this topic and can feel the wall he just put up.

Ricky barely looked at her as he handed her the change, his head hung low, his eyes downcast.

“Thanks.” Jaqui took the change and returned to her car.

Inside, Ricky went over to the blinds and held them open, watching as she entered her car and drove off.

Pairings: Ricky Hauk x reader

Summary: you and Ricky have been dating for over a year, everything was great, until some unexpected news changes things forever.

A/N: this was inspired by @hello-mooi and her hey Ricky series, which is AMAZING so go read 😊 you my dear have me pining for this guy. Had to write this it was stuck in my head 🥰

While Ricky was finishing up on a car you were helping Joey with one of his school projects. This was a routine you’d gotten into quite quickly in your relationship with Ricky, you didn’t mind though you loved Joey.

“Where do you want this?”

“Eh…right here. Thanks for helping me with this.”

“Hey you don’t have to thank me, I love helping you. I think this is going to be another winner Joey.”

Arms suddenly wrap around your waist, “damn straight it is.” Turning around in his arms you stand on your tippy toes and kiss him.

“Ew..guys I’m right here.”

“Yeah so, don’t look.” Ricky sticks his tongue out at his little brother, causing you to laugh at their antics.

“Come on you two, we gotta get this home for tomorrow, and you owe me a pizza,” you say finger pointing at Ricky. You walk out of the garage towards his truck, Joey’s project in your arms.

“I hope you marry her Ricky.”

“Me too buddy, me too.”

After Joey won the science fare, Ricky treated you all to dinner. His mom was so happy, they all were and it was nice to see, given all they’d been through. Ricky opened up to you one night about his dad, cried even and you just held him and listened. You didn’t judge him or treat him differently and he loved you for it.

“So Y/N, now that Ricky is going to be doing that creative writing course, have you thought about going to college?”

“Oh no, I actually like working at the book store for my parents. Dad is teaching me the business side of it so I can take over one day.”

“Isn’t that wonderful, dear.”

Ricky takes your hand in his and gives it a gentle squeeze. When dinner was over Ricky suggested going out to the lake, your usual spot when you both wanted some alone time. Pulling up to your usual spot and turning the engine off, Ricky turned to you.

“Thanks for today.”

“Hey it’s no problem, I love helping Joey he’s a good kid.”

“Your amazing you know that.”

“Oh yeah I know,” you say in a teasing tone.

“Oh someone’s cocky,” he moves to tickle you.

“No stop….please.”

He’s leaning over you now, eyes staring at you with lust. His lips meet yours in a gentle kiss, and you stay like that for a few minutes until things become heated. Ricky quickly strips you both of your clothes before sitting back in the drivers seat. He motions for you to straddle him, your both so lost in the moment, passion consuming you that you forget to use a condom. You sink down onto him and you both let out a moan. You take a minute to adjust to him before you begin moving. You both take your time, savouring the feeling of each other. You come together moaning each other’s name.

“That was….”

“Yeah, it was.”

It’s been six weeks since the night at the lake and you and Ricky have both been super busy that you’ve barely seen each other. Tonight he was coming over to yours to watch a movie, your parents were out and you both had the next day off. The last few days you haven’t been feeling too well, feeling nauseous nearly everyday. Thinking nothing of it until your in the bathroom and realise you haven’t needed any pads this month. Oh shit! Heading to the pharmacy before you go home you grab a pregnancy test. This can’t be happening. Your pacing your room now waiting the three minutes it takes to get the results. What I am I going to tell Ricky. Checking your watch, five minutes, you grab the test and you just stare at it. Two pink lines, I’m pregnant. You rush to the toilet and throw up.

When Ricky arrives he knows straight away that something is wrong. You won’t look him in eye.

“Hey is everything ok? You know you can tell me anything right?”

“I know, I just….I think you better sit down.”

“Ok….your making me nervous now, your not breaking up with me are you?”

“No, god no it’s just I’m……” Ricky places a reassuring hand on your thigh, “I’m pregnant.”

Ricky just stares at you, he doesn’t blink, doesn’t say anything.

“Are you ok?”

Breaking out of his trance, “your pregnant? How?”

“We’ll do you really not know how?” You laugh a little.

“No I meant how could this happen, we’re always careful. This can’t be happening.”

He stands now, trying to put some distance between you both. You stand and go to move towards him when he puts a hand out.

“Don’t, I’m sorry, I can’t do this, I can’t be a father, I just cant. You know I never wanted kids. I’m sorry.”

Just like that he was gone slamming the front door behind him. You just slumped onto the floor crying. You were alone now. Moving your hand to your stomach, “ I guess it’s just me and you now.”

It’s been a week since Ricky stormed out the door and you haven’t heard from him since. Your in the shop getting some groceries when you run into Joey.

“Hey, why haven’t you been over to see me? I have a new project I want to show you.”

“I’m sorry Joey I’ve been…”

Your cut short when Ricky comes up beside Joey, “hey buddy who are you…”

Both of you just stare at each other, Joey looking between you both.

“Something is going on with you two, isn’t it? Did you break up?”

You look at Joey then back up at Ricky, waiting for him to say something, “hey why don’t you go and pick out something for dessert, yeah!”

“You look….” Turning away from him you walk in the opposite direction. He grabs your arm, “hey, please I want to talk.”

You turn to face him, anger seeping out of you. “So now you want to talk, that’s rich, I told you I was pregnant, with your baby, and you just leave me there. You just…..left me.”

“I know…god I know…..I’m an idiot. I love you Y/N, please can’t we work this out?”

You stare at him seeing the hurt and guilt in his eyes. Pulling away from him, “It’s too late.” You leave him there staring after you.

“Ricky what’s going on with Y/N? She hasn’t been over in ages and you two seemed off with each other.”

“Nothing alright, just stop asking questions.” Joey was shocked at his big brothers outburst.

The drive home was awkward and when they got inside the house Ricky went straight to his room. When it came time for dinner, they all sat around the table, Joey and his mom sharing a look.

“Ricky is everything ok?”

“Fine.”

“It doesn’t seem fine. Did something happen between you and Y/N? You can talk to us.”

They wait for him to say something, anything, but instead he bursts out crying.

“Y/N is pregnant.”

“What? I thought you were using protection! How could you be so stupid.”

“I know ok. I don’t need a lecture.”

“Ok so what are you going to do about it? Are ye keeping it, is Y/N having an abortion?”

“I don’t know.”

“What do you mean you don’t know?”

“Mom I screwed up. She told me last week and I freaked out…. I just said no I can’t do this and left her.”

“Ricky she was probably terrified why would you do that?”

Joey watches his big brother fall apart. Putting his hand on Ricky’s arm, “is this because of dad?”

“What if I’m like him? I don’t want to be a father like that, no child deserves that.”

His mother comes over to him and wraps him in a hug. “Baby, you are nothing like him. Your a good man and you will make a great father, you already are with Joey.”

“Yeah I love you so much, you’ve thought me everything l know. This baby is going to be lucky to have you.”

“What am I going to do? She doesn’t want to talk to me.”

“You need to go to her and explain what you just told us. She’ll understand.”

“I hope so.”

Since you saw Ricky at the store you’ve been in your room, crying. You can’t believe this was happening, your mother wanted you to have an abortion but you refused. Yes you were very young but you loved Ricky and now this baby. If you had to do this on your own, you would.

A knock on the door startled you, and as you made your way to your bedroom door, loud voices could be heard. Suddenly there’s a knock on your door.

“Y/N, baby please, I just want to talk. Please hear me out, I’m begging you.”

Opening the door slowly, your greeted with the sight of Ricky, with red puffy eyes. You open the door fully allowing him to enter the room.

“What it is you want to say?”

“I’m sorry for how I reacted when you told me about the baby. I love you, so much, and I never wanted to hurt you. Now I have and I will spend the rest of my life making up for it.”

He moves towards you, slowly placing his hands on your face.

“I want this baby, I really do. I want to build a life with you, have a family with you. I freaked out because….because I’m afraid of becoming a father. I don’t want to be like him, I couldn’t put my family through that, put you through that.”

“Ricky you are not your father and you never will be. Your a good person, you care for your mom, Joey and me. You are a better man than he ever was. Our baby will be lucky to have you as a father.”

He moves his head closer to you, giving you time to pull away, when you don’t he places his lips on yours gently. When he pulls away he rests his forehead against yours. “I love you Y/N”, he moves his hand to your stomach, “I love you both.”
