My gripe with the wider nygmobblepot fandom is the trope/joke of making Oswald “the wife.” Because. Yes, they’re both men, but more than that? If we Had to assign one the wife role, between the two, it is not him.

One is distinctly more feminine in style, falls into the same tropes that are stereotypically thrust upon female characters, and has repeatedly proven to have Very Strong domestic tendencies in relationships.

The other wears makeup.

Let Ed be the wife in our memes, please, it’s so much more accurate and there’s so much more canon material to joke about

If I had a nickel for every time a character who's name can be shortened to Eddie on a tv show that started on Fox ran into a doppelganger of their dead first love, first woman they ever dated (except this version had a blonde updo), started a relationship with that doppelganger (who never gets a surname), tried to end things after their best friend (who at one point suffered a major leg injury, and is in love with him) told them how weird the whole thing was, only for the doppelganger woman to dress up as the dead ex complete with hair and style change, I would have two nickels, which isn't a lot, but it's really weird that it happened twice
