I haven't been able to play Elden Ring myself so I've been watching @ohnoitstbskyen playthrough on youtube, and when he came across this in the game I had to draw it

The most important part of the Elden Ring™ experience is to get deeply emotionally connected to the two-three sentence lore descriptions of a spirit ash that only you care about. They are mentioned no where else in the game but in your mind they might as well be the main character of the story.

If Hua Cheng’s ring is completely solid diamond it’d be funny if it were polished to be clear.

I mean, imagine someone mistakes it for a glass ring so they’re always telling Xie Lian to be careful with it (and ofc he is) but eventually someone thinks it’s dumb or tries to break it only to realize it is literally the hardest material on earth and they can’t even put a scratch on it. If it’s some dumb human he *might* let it go but if it’s a god or a ghost? They get to know personally why he is The Best Martial God.

Green Rider by Kristen Britain (1998-present)

On her long journey home from school after a fight which will surely lead to her expulsion, Karigan G'ladheon ponders her future as she trudges through the immense forest called Green Cloak. But her thoughts are interrupted by the clattering of hooves as a galloping horse bursts from the woods, the rider slumped over his mount's neck, impaled by two black-shafted arrows. The Deep by Rivers Solomon with Daveed Diggs, William Hutson, and Jonathan Snipes (2019)

Yetu holds the memories for her people—water-dwelling descendants of pregnant African slave women thrown overboard by slave owners—who live idyllic lives in the deep. Their past, too traumatic to be remembered regularly, is forgotten by everyone, save one—the historian. This demanding role has been bestowed on Yetu.

Yetu remembers for everyone, and the memories, painful and wonderful, traumatic and terrible and miraculous, are destroying her. And so, she flees to the surface, escaping the memories, the expectations, and the responsibilities—and discovers a world her people left behind long ago.

Yetu will learn more than she ever expected to about her own past—and about the future of her people. If they are all to survive, they’ll need to reclaim the memories, reclaim their identity—and own who they really are.
