At this point I'm just going to say I'm a multishipper cause I absolutely do ship Casey/Jane AND Jane/Shelley. Last episode already had me lowkey shipping the prior, but this episode really did push it up to about the same level as the latter. The way Casey kept looking at Jane and their chemistry with each other is just so good.

Why must Rita and Laura hurt my heart with their obvious gayngst like UGH Laura saying how Rita was never a monster to her. Rita interfering when Immortus was going after Laura, also her repeatedly glancing at her to check if she was okay.

Larry getting to actually introduce 104 as his bf to his found family is just more punches to the heart; not even going into 104's talk about leaving Immortus's fake world and not wanting just another case of his story being written for him.

Doom Patrol oneshot; spin the bottle, Cliff x Flex

Larry, Rama, Laura, Rita, Jane, Vic, Shelly, and Flex all sat in a circle on the floor. An empty bottle of root beer sat in between them.

"Why are we playing this again?" Cliff asked.

"Because we got nothing better to do." Jane responded.

"Everyone knows how to play this, were all adults, everyone who doesn't want to play is in the other room, it's a perfect sleepover party game! I'll go first!" Rita gingerly reached in and spun the bottle. Once it started to slow, Flex decided to do something extra. He flexed a small muscle and made it spin just a little bit more until it landed on Laura.

"Alright then, pucker up Bendy." Laura leaned across the circle and kissed her, right on the lips. Rita melted just a little before recomposing herself.

"Everyone ok with the round the circle rule instead of the kiss-ee rule?" Jane asked. Nobody complained so she spun the bottle next. Flex flexed again, this time having the bottle stop on Shelley. Jane simply smiled as she crawled forward a little so she could kiss her better. Once Jane was back in her seat, Larry spun the bottle. Flex, once again, secretly flexed his muscle so that the bottle stopped on Rama, except the bottle spun a little in the opposite way that Larry spun it to land on him. Rama shrugged and kissed him on his cheek. Larry looked over at Flex.

"You're messing with the bottle."

"What?"

"There's no reason the bottle would have spun that way. You're using your...flex magic to make the bottle land on people's partners."

"Fine you got me. I'll stop. Its my turn anyways." Flex happily took defeat as he spun the bottle. Everyone watched as it almost land on Shelley. Flex started to look disappointed. Larry caught on and managed to lean around Rita and nudge Rama. Once Rama looked at him, he nodded towards the bottle and then towards Cliff. Rama got the hint and turn the bottle just that much more magnetic that it continue to spin just enough that it missed Shelley and land next to her, on Cliff. He returned the bottle back to normal right as Cliff realized the bottle was on him.

"Uh...I'm a robot, how's a kiss gonna even work?"

"You got a brain, right? I can mess with it a little." Flex flexed one of his fingers before kissing Cliff's robotic jaw. Cliff somehow stiffened before the sound of the microwave in the next room pulled everyone away from the scene for just a moment.

"Oh! Popcorns done! I'll go get that." Cliff said before getting up and making a hasty retreat. Flex watched as Cliff walked away. Jane leaned over to Rama.

"You turned the bottle magnetic, didn't you?"

"It was Larry's idea."

"Hey, it was about time those dorks did something."

Watching movies: Rita/Laura (Doom Patrol)

This was originally a list for fic, fanart and creation, so when there's a specific trope like this I choose a ship with a specific scene.

Here the one where Laura tries to convince the team to go and see Rita's movie retrospective to lift her spirits.

It seems so fluffy, said like this! It's so unfluffy! First because Laura doesn't only acts from kindness (ha ha) and love (complicated) but from guilt, recent guilt from taking her place as team leader, and old, sharp guilt of having Rita's boyfriend killed (and most important guilt of ruining so.many people's lives)

Also because bad things will happen at the movie retrospective.

Still, I wanted them to be canon. Even shortly, even if I understand they didn't want to send a "kill the boyfriend and get the girl" message.

Deborah was making a call from a pay telephone when a man held a knife to her throat and demanded money. When she got home the same man was waiting. He raped her at gunpoint.

A man hiding in the shadows confronted Brenda, held a razor to her throat and forced her into her house, where he raped her.

After a party Rita accepted a ride home from a man she knew. He held her captive, tore her clothes, raped her, choked her and held her over the rail of a secluded bridge, telling her, ''I'd drop you if I didn't love you.''

In each case the attacker was the woman's husband.

Until recently, marital rape was not viewed as a crime. Before 1979 only Iowa, Nebraska, Oregon, New Jersey and Delaware had laws allowing prosecution of husbands for raping their wives.

In the past five years, however, 18 more states, including California, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois and Massachusetts, and the District of Columbia have been added to the list. The most recent was Pennsylvania, where a law making marital rape a second-degree felony went into effect last Friday. Campaigns are under way in 13 other states to change rape statutes.

Legislation to make marital rape a Federal crime died in Congress this year, but sponsors say they will introduce the bill again in January.

In such states as Michigan, Ohio, Texas and Indiana a woman still has no legal recourse against her husband if he has sexual relations with her without her consent.

Ruling in New York

New York was among these states until last Thursday, when the state's highest court threw out a provision of state law that barred prosecutions in marital rapes.

Studies in Boston and San Francisco indicate that 10 percent to 14 percent of married women have been raped by their husbands. The rapes are often part of a pattern that includes other abuses.

The legal foundation for excluding husbands from prosecution for rape dates to the 17th century, when Sir Matthew Hale, a Chief Justice of England, wrote: ''The husband cannot be guilty of a rape committed by himself upon his lawful wife. For by their mutual consent and contract, the wife hath given up herself in this kind.'' U.S. Case That Changed Law

That sentiment was echoed by John Rideout, of Salem, Ore., who went on trial in 1978 on charges of raping his wife, Greta, while they were living together.''You're my wife, you do what I want,'' Mr. Rideout said.

He was acquitted. Several states changed their rape laws after his trial.

After William Rider was found guilty in Miami in September of sexual battery and kidnapping his wife, Marion, the verdict was widely reported as the first time a husband was convicted of raping his wife while they lived together.

But many such decisions already were on the books, according to Laura X, director of the National Clearinghouse on Marital Rape in Berkeley, Calif. Laura X monitors court decisions and legislation and works to change laws so husbands can be prosecuted.

85% Conviction Rate

The conviction rate among husbands accused of marital rape, she said, is about 85 percent, as against 2 percent to 5 percent in cases of rape by strangers.

She said she was aware of 99 cases of husbands convicted of raping their wives, 21 when they were living together and 78 when they were separated.

''Rape laws were written to protect man's property,'' she said. ''What we want is a woman's basic right to consent.''

David Finkelhor, associate director of the Family Violence Research Program at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, said: ''There is this impression that marital rape is a tiff between husband and wife, that it's not a serious crime. Marital rape can have all the brutality that we normally associate with stranger rape.''

Frequent Use of Weapons

Case studies show that weapons and other foreign objects are often used in marital rape, either as a threat or as part of the rape, he said.

A book by Mr. Finkelhor and Kiersti Willo, ''License to Rape: Sexual Abuse of Wives,'' will be published in March, he said.

In a study he conducted of 335 women in Boston, he reported, 10 percent of women who had been married said they had been raped by their husbands, and 40 percent of those women said they had never told anyone.

In a study published in 1975, Prof. Diana E. H. Russell of Mills College in Oakland, Calif., said she had found that among 930 women in San Francisco, 14 percent of those who had been married said they had been raped by their spouse. Most of those in the study said they also were beaten.

Aftermaths of Incidents

Many women who are raped leave their husbands, but many others stay because they believe the men will change or they cannot support themselves or want to keep families intact.

Separation and divorce provide no easy answer because retribution is frequent. Experts say the period of separation before divorce is one of the most dangerous times for women who have been raped by their husbands.

Besides the physical brutality of marital rape, the trauma can be psychologically damaging, experts say.

''When you're raped by a stranger you have to live with a frightening nightmare,'' said Mr. Finkelhor. ''When you're raped by your husband, you have to live with your rapist.''

1. Who is your favourite character in 2?

Laura easily. She’s such a sweetheart with a pure heart. Of course she’s not perfect but I understand what it’s like to basically lose parts of yourself and act against your values in the name of self-preservation and I empathise with that.

2. Who is your least favourite character in 1?

Rose. I know that’s a super unpopular opinion but 🤷🏼‍♀️ I just find her whiny, selfish, and annoying. Don’t get me wrong I know she’s supposed to be 19 and that definitely plays a role but I just can’t look past it. Also maybe Simm!Master buttttt that’s just me being a bitter ass bitch about things.

3. What’s your favourite episode of 4?

17x03 (Going Mobile), 15x04 (Skeleton Crew), and 16x04 (Third Wheel). There’s so many to choose from but I’ve narrowed it down to three. These are all ones with lots of content around Jack (my fave character) without torturing her.

4. What is your favourite season of 5?

Season 1 by far. I actually really didn’t like season 2.

5. What’s your favourite relationship in 3?

Y’know I actually don’t have many ships in Once Upon A Time and none of the ones I do have are really serious. I think maybe Regina x Rumple (but I also lowkey ship Zelena with Rumple so idk).

6. Who is your anti relationship in 2?

Oop here’s another super unpopular opinion but I can’t stand MadamFarr. 😅 I love Laura as we’ve already figured out and I really can’t stand Rita or the way Rita treats Laura. I just think Laura deserves better. However, I’ll support it a tiny bit if it becomes canon as I’ll do anything to have Laura’s queerness confirmed on the show.

11 or 12 years.

8. How did you become interested in 3?

I saw an ad for it on tv! But I didn’t wait until it aired here in New Zealand I just watched it online.

9. Who is your favourite actor in 4?

Two (Doom Patrol). But one (Doctor Who) is a close second.

11. Which show have you seen more episodes of 1 or 3?

I would think it’s Doctor Who even if you don’t count the classic episodes. There’s just a lot more of it. I’ve seen every episode of both shows.

12. If you could be anyone from 4, who would you be?

I’m most like Ellie and I ship her with Jack so I think it would be her.

13. How would you kill off your favourite character in 5?

Lmao I would not. Somehow she’s still alive, at this point it seems to me Miranda Croft is unkillable. If she was to be killed off it wouldn’t be a fair fight - maybe one of her many enemies sent multiple assassins (at the same time) to kill her.

14. Would a 3/4 crossover work?

Definitely not. That’s not to say that that there isn’t a place for supernatural/fantastical content in procedural shows (I’m pretty sure I recall Castle having a zombie episode and a time travel episode). However, I think that the NCIS characters would not know what to make of the Once Upon A Time characters and the situations they’d be in and the more they learned the worse it would get. They would find out about these ridiculously complicated families etc and just start calling everyone out. Which would piss off the Once Upon A Time characters and it would all go to hell basically.

15. Pair two characters in 1 that would make an unlikely, but strangely okay couple.

I think Captain Jack and Donna would work well together. The hard part would be getting Donna to give it a chance.

16. Overall, which show has the better cast, 3 or 5?

Uhhhh … neither of these shows are particularly known for their cast as far as I’m aware, although both casts do excellently at delivering the material. In Once Upon A Time there’s two actors I like and in The Flight Attendant there’s only one. So based on that I’d have to go Once Upon A Time. However, I only watched The Flight Attendant for Michelle Gomez but I watched Once Upon A Time because I was actually interested in the premise of the show. So based on that I’d have to go The Flight Attendant. Meh, I guess it’s a tie 🤷🏼‍♀️
