to be honest i think there is a very clear pathway to cheronica happening this season (cheryl’s “get out of my school” vibes, veronica introducing the concept of bisexuality to the group, hermione telling veronica “no boys” which EYE think would be very fun if veronica was like “okay fine then girls”) but i KNOW they’re not gonna take it

Two things from that travesty of a episode:

As one very smart person here points out, and to piggyback of my hair post, they really did just google a few pictures and pick the worst, and some of them don't even seem accurate, because Toni's hair at least looks far more 70s than 50s.

(And she and the serpents are neither greasers, nor badasses, nor beatniks, but that's a whole other thing.)

Also, much as RAS would love to be patting himself on the back for a job well done in telling LGBT stories, that is quite the opposite of what he was doing?

Kevin? I know Betty doesn't know he's gay, but he is very clearly uncomfortable and she is damn near forcing herself on him. Imagine if that was a man doing that to a woman? Imagine a man pressuring a woman like Betty is pressuring Kevin? Not okay.

Toni, who has decided that Cheryl is gay (whether or not that's true is actually pretty irrelevant) and is purposely making her uncomfortable and insinuating that she should come out. Cheryl is a stranger. This is not okay. There is a very significant difference between saying "I am here if you need to talk, without judgement" and lowkey dragging her from the closet.

A friend who is not on Tumblr pointed this out, but currently, Kevin, Cheryl and Ethel (and Jug) are the most sympathetic characters.

(Also, just putting this out there, these are critiques of the writers, not the actors).
