I Wanna Be Yours || Part 3
Tumblr media
Part 2 | part 4
↝a/n: I'm so confused on how to spell Vickie's name. I had been writing Vicky but it looked wrong so I looked it up and it's apparently Vickie. I don't care enough to fix it with my other work so ignore it.

↝Warning: slightly proofread, mention of death, the graphic details of what Eddie said with Chrissy's death, Possible spoilers if you still haven't watched season 4, everything that happens in stranger things, slow burn, Vickie doesn't exist here, not because I don't like her, but because it's easier to write for Robin when she's not madly in love with another chick.

“The way he looked at you!” Chrissy continued to gush, kicking her feet in a 'schoolgirl' way. She stared up at you with her head in her hands, laying on her stomach. Homework was long forgotten.
“He looks at everyone like that.” Rolling your eyes, you turned back to your dresser, looking in the top drawer for a certain shirt you were meant to have worn the day before. You were pretty sure Nancy had stolen it at this point. Wouldn't have been the first shirt that had just wound up missing just for you to see either in Nancy's clothes basket or on her. “I saw him look at Mrs. O'Relle and I thought he was going to combust. He's just a naturally flirty guy. I don't even think he realizes it most of the time."
“Oh, okay. Yeah.” With her tone and the smile on her face, it was obvious she didn't believe a word you said.
After closing the drawer harder than you meant to, you turned, glaring at the girl. “Anyway… I don't like him.”
You regretted the way you said 'him' as soon as it rolled off your tongue. But you tried to play it off cool. However, she didn't.
“So there's another guy!” You were quick to shush her, with it being night and Holly had already been put to bed and the fact you did not want your parents or siblings knowing anything about your love life. “Sorry.” She moved to sit up, watching as you sat on the edge of the mattress. “So…?”
“So what?”
“What's so special about this guy?” She said it as if you were stupid for asking.
“Nothing. Well, not like-” Closing your mouth, you couldn't find the words. Your eyes danced around your room, taking in the tacky paint from your childhood that you have yet to cover up. “He's different.” No matter how much she tried for you to meet her eye, yours stayed glued to the wall In front of you.
After a few moments of silence, you glanced over, her face telling you to continue. Her smile was so sweet, happy for you.
“He's nice.” She. She's nice. But Chrissy didn't need to know that. This is the first time you've told her about anyone you have ever fancied in the 5 years you two have been the best of friends. She was over the moon. “He's smart. He looks good in blue or green.” Chrissy noticed the way your lip twitched into a small smile at the thought of this mystery 'man'.
“What does he look like?”
“Light-brown hair, blue eyes.” You began fiddling with your nightshirt. “Tall. Taller than me, at least. Uh,” You glanced back over, not wanting to be telling her this anymore. Sure, you've wanted to tell someone how you felt, how a girl you barely talk to could make you feel all kinds of giddy without meaning to. But this was too much. “Actually, I don't want to talk about this anymore. If you don't mind.”
Before she could reply, you clicked your lamp off, leaving you to get under the blankets in the dark.
Robin's nice. She's smart. She looks good in blue or green. She had light-brown hair and pretty blue eyes. She is taller than you. She is beautiful. She is someone you couldn't even admit to liking to your closest friend.
You know Chrissy would never judge you or make you feel less than, but it was just different. It always would be. Sadly.
“He sounds nice, like someone you should admit your feelings to.” Chrissy spoke up after a moment of silence, of which you had stared above you, darkness blocking the color of the ceiling. You nearly scoffed at her words. But you settled on humming in agreement, or maybe just to satisfy her.
“Her body just, like, lifted in the air and uh…and she just hung there In the air.” You all but flinched as Eddie explained what had happened, more in detail than what Max had explained, obviously. Robin glanced at you every so often, seeing you winch, wanting nothing more than to reach out and cover your ears or make Eddie stop talking. But they needed to know this, what had happened and maybe figure out why and what caused it. Because it certainly wasn't him.
You glanced up for a split second, catching Robin's concerned eyes. She held eye contact for a few seconds before looking back at Eddie, who was distraught and certainly didn't know what to do and where to go from here.
“Shh!” You tried to steady a giggling Chrissy. She kept moving and wobbling, making it challenging to walk straight when you, yourself, were drunk. You really didn't want your parents to hear you stumbling through the house.
“Tonight was so fun!” She whispered yelled, getting a look from you before you shushed her again. You tried to help her up the stairs, cringing when she'd giggle again or the stairs would creak.
Today had been a close game, making everyone stressed, which made tonight the night where everyone got drunk in a close celebration. You and Chrissy weren't people to drink, mostly because you were underage, but as said before, today was stressful. Maybe Chrissy had gotten a little too drunk. This was the first time, however. She's never one to take more than a few sips, out of the bitter taste that she hated. She would've probably drunk more if you hadn't told her it was time to go.
Finally up the stairs, you turned her body towards your room, holding your breath before you tried to guide her in the darkness.
Hearing a door creak open, you froze. Turning slightly, you saw Nancy looking at you with a disappointed mom face. She rolled her eyes before closing the door. You went back to your friend, shushing her again when she decided almost tripping over air was hilarious. She's definitely a giggle drunk.
Opening your door, you gently pushed her in. She dropped on your bed, face first, most likely smearing her makeup on your duvet.
Sighing, you went through your drawer, before throwing a big shirt at her. She flipped over, looking at the shirt as you went to the connected bathroom to change.
Walking out, you saw she had changed and was already under the blanket.
She motioned for you to hurry, bringing the blanket up more. “Tonight was so fun.” She repeated.
You hummed, getting under the blanket.
She continued talking. “Robin seems nice.”
“Mhm.”
“You two seem to be getting close.”
“Yeah, we work together in, like, 2 classes. She's smart.”
“Smart and nice.”
“Yep.” You flipped over, hiding the slight blush from talking about Robin. Not like it was much use, with how dark it was.
“Smart, nice, brown hair, blue eyes. She's taller than you. OH MY GOD.” She jumped up, eyes wide.
You quickly turned, shushing her yet again, trying to get her to lay back down.
“She's just like your crush!” She whispered yelled, again, not really whispering.
“Yeah, yeah. Whatever, just lay back down.”
“That's so crazy.” She began to lay back down.
After a few moments, she spoke up again. You had to stop yourself from huffing, after nearly going to sleep.
“Y/n?”
“Yes, Chrissy?”
“Is Robin your crush?” You felt as if your heart fell out of your ass.
“No, why would you think that?” You stayed looking away from her, stretching your hands out so they'd stop shaking.
“She's the exact description of your crush. I mean, it makes sense. You have been hanging out-”
“We're partners in class-”
She continued, “You act differently around her.”
“Only because I don't really know her like I know you-”
“It's okay. I promise.”
You turned, knowing she's looking back at you. You feel like you could cry right now.
“Chrissy, please go to sleep.” You whispered, closing your eyes.
“Okay!” She turned, getting comfortable, before her snores started not even 3 minutes later.
Good God.
“And her bones-” Eddie made a sound, cringing, hating how it all replayed in his head. “Her bones started to snap.”
You stood from where you had squatted, feeling like you were getting strangled by air itself. Rubbing against your chin, you didn't know whether to keep listening or step outside, where the cool night air might make you feel better. Eddie continued, “Her eyes, man.”
Turning, you stepped over the other people and the mess of the shed floor, not really giving yourself time to grab your flashlight. “It-it was like there was something, like, inside her head, pulling.”
The door slammed closed behind you. The cool air fanned against your face, feeling the complete opposite of the frantic hot breaths, making your lips and hands tremble.
After a few moments, the door creaked open, a flashlight shining around until it shined on you.
“Dustin's telling Eddie everything.” Robin finally spoke after a moment. You simply nodded, looking into the nothingness of the night. “They said something about Vecna's Curse?” It sounded more of a question than a statement, honestly.
“The D&D dude?” She shrugged, not really knowing, herself. “Oh my- if I hear one more thing about that stupid game… I'm actually going to lose my mind.” She dryly chuckled, pointing the flashlight around the shed, noting how scary it looked with all the trees around. “It's getting chilly, let's see what they're doing for the night.” Her hand skimmed the tin door, looking for you to follow her. She watched you shakily inhale before stepping behind, following her back in. She didn't really know what else to do than send a sympathetic smile before turning around, opening the door.
“I'm scared!” You wailed, utterly done with this world at the moment. You really didn't care if you sounded like every teenager going through it.
Chrissy looked at you with so many questions, not prying questions. She wanted so dearly to hear you, to know how you're feeling and what's making you feel that way.
This wasn't how she pictured the conversation going. She innocently asked about Robin and how she was. But somehow it escalated to her telling you to just tell her how you felt, how you longed to be able to touch her soft skin, tell her all the things you have held back all this time.
“Why?”
“Why?” immediately, you felt bad for raising your voice when Chrissy's own voice wasn't. Hers was soft, genuine. “I can't just tell her.”
She wasn't oblivious, she knew why you couldn't openly express your love for someone, not like she could with Jason. “You don't have to kiss in public, just…tell her. She could feel the same-”
“Or she couldn't. And next thing you know, I'm the laughingstock of Hawkins. People can be cruel, Chrissy.” Your voice was strained, as was your head pounding. “I just don't want to talk about it.”
Although Chrissy wanted nothing more for you to open up to her, she let off for the time being. Maybe she felt guilty for always coming to you when something is a slight convenience to her. Or perhaps she felt hurt that she would tell you everything, while you were so closed off. It made her think that you didn't trust her like she trusted you.
“Jesus!” Dustin kicked the door to the shed open, startling Eddie.
“Delivery service.” The kid tried to lighten the mood, seeing his friend so on edge.
It was disgusting how Eddie was stuffing his mouth with food, but you get it. He hadn't eaten since the day before, and probably heaved that up.
“So we got, uh, some good news and some bad news.” Dustin started. “How do you prefer it?”
“Bad news first, always.”
“Alright, bad news.” Dustin continued. You couldn't help the yawn that made you cover your mouth, turning to face the water that looked so calm. “We tapped into the Hawkins PD dispatch with our Cerebro, and they're definitely looking for you. Also, they're uh,”
“They're pretty convinced you killed Chrissy.” Eddie turned to look at you as you turned your eyes away from the open view.
“Like, 100% kind of convinced.” Max spoke up from where she sat behind you.
Eddie turned back to his friend, awaiting the supposed 'good news'. “And the good news?”
“Your name hasn't gone public yet.” Both you and Eddie turned to Robin, both for entirely different reasons. Her eyes fell to yours for a split second, before returning to Eddie's curious ones. “But if we found out about you, it's a matter of time before others do too and, once this gets out, everyone and their shallow-minded mother is going to be gunning for you.”
“Hunt the freak, right?”
“Exactly.”
“Shit.”
“So,” Dustin spoke up again, “Before that happens, we need to find Vecna, kill him, and prove your innocence.” The way he spoke, it seemed like the easiest thing to do in the whole wide world.
“That's all, Dustin? That's all?” Sarcasm dripped from Eddie's words like venom.
“Yeah, no, that's pretty much it.”
“Listen, Eddie.” Once again, your attention was on Robin.
Her hair looked pretty today.
“I know everything Dustin is saying sounds totally delusional,” You couldn't help watching her hands as she waved them around. “But we've actually been through this kind of thing before. I mean, they have a…few times, and I have once. Mine was more human-flesh-based, and theirs was more smoke-related.” She sighed, catching herself rambling. “But the bottom line is, collectively, I really feel we got this.”
Even as Steve began talking, you stayed looking at her, maybe longer than you should have because she glanced back down. “We usually rely on this girl who has superpowers. But uh, those went bye-bye, so…"
Robin spoke, “So we're technically in more of the-”
“Kind of-” Steve waved around.
“Brainstorming phase.” Max concluded.
“Brainstorming.” Steve snapped his fingers at her.
Eddie looked the most unsure of something you've ever seen somebody.
Dustin began sputtering, his voice going up an octave. “There…there's nothing to worry about.”
Steve scoffed, nodding along with Dustin. Eddie titled his head at them.
“Eddie, look.” He turned to you, looking for some kind of help here. “You don't really have a choice.” You didn't mean for the words to come out as harsh as they did, but with the lack of sleep -and the headache that was soon to be coming-you really didn't feel like apologizing. At least, not right now.
Sirens rang out, causing everyone to panic and rush forward towards Eddie.
“Tarp.” Robin pointed at the blue tarp. “Tarp. Tarp.” Eddie rushed to hide back under the thing he had been hiding under all night.
You all ran towards the window, watching as cop cars and an ambulance flew past.
“Nancy.” You were the first out of the car when Steve parked, nearly climbing over Robin in doing so. Nancy looked out of it, not knowing her right from left, up from down. She watched the car pull up, looking as if she were about to burst out in tears any second.
You held your sister in your arms, rubbing your hand up and down her back, trying to ease her emotions from your spot beside her.
“So, you're saying that this thing that killed Fred and Chrissy, it's from the Upside Down?”
“If the shoe fits.” Steve responded to Nancy.
“Our working theory is that he attacks with a spell or a curse.” Dustin wasn't quite sure of anything, at this point. “Now, whether or not he's doing the bidding of the Mind Flayer or just loves killing teens, we don't know.”
Nancy shrugged your arms off her, causing a frown to form on your face. But you didn't push it. Instead, you folded your arms over your chest, pushing another yawn down.
Max spoke up, “All we know is this is something different. Something new.”
“Doesn't make sense.” Nancy stated. Of course, it doesn't make sense, nothing has for the past few years.
“It's only a theory.”
“No, Fred and Chrissy don't make sense. I mean, why them?”
“Maybe they were at the wrong place at the wrong time.” Dustin countered, “They were both at the game.”
“And near the trailer park.”
"…"
“We're at the trailer park.” You and Steve spoke in unison, looked at each other, uneasy.
“Uh, should we maybe not be here?”
Everyone glanced around, uncomfortable.
“There is something about this place.”
“Let's go.” You stood, kicking your legs out from the table.
Yet, no one followed.
“Fred started acting weird the second we got here.”
“Then let's leave.” You urged them to get up, maybe run to the car and get the hell out of here.
“Acting weird as in…?” Robin questioned, watching as you looked around, a pit in your stomach.
“Scared, on edge, upset.”
“Max said Chrissy was upset too.”
“Yeah, but not here.” Max stated, remembering back to the bathroom. She turned to you, knowing you said she'd been acting weird around you too.
“We can actually talk about this in the car.”
Max continued, “She was crying in the bathroom at school.”
Looking away from everyone, you nearly jumped out of your skin when Robin touched your arm, trying to ease your nerves. Your face grew red, from the scare, of course. Not from her skin touching yours. Not one bit.
“Serial killers stalk their prey before they strike, right?” You gawked at her, “So maybe Fred and Chrissy saw this vecman-”
“Vecna.” Dustin quickly corrected.
“Dunno about you guys, but if I saw some freaky wizard monster, I would mention it to somebody.”
“Maybe they did.” Max states, “I saw Chrissy leaving Ms. Kelley's office. If you saw a monster, you wouldn't go to the police. They'd never believe you.”
To be fair, if you hadn't seen it multiple times in real life, you wouldn't believe anyone either. Unless it was Chrissy.
“But you might go to your-”
“Your shrink.”
Max's nod was enough for you to begin walking back to the car, knowing they were going to do the same. The faster you were out of this trailer park, the better.
“Woah, woah, woah, Nance. Nance!” Looking back, you watched Steve go after Nancy, seeing her walking away from his car. “Nance, where are you going?”
“Oh, there's just something I want to check out first.” She continued to walk backwards.
“Something you wanna share with us?” Dustin threw his arms open in question.
“Nancy?” You questioned her, not quite sure what was going through her brain, but you knew it was moving too fast right now.
“I don't want to waste your time. It's a real shot in the dark.”
“Yeah, okay. Are you out of your mind? Flying solo with this Vecna creep on the loose? No, it's too dangerous. You need,” He glanced back at the rest of us, before looking back at her. “You need someone to…" He trailed off before turning and throwing his keys at Robin. “Here, I'll stick with Nance, alright. You guys take the car, check out the shrink.”
“I don't think you want me driving your car.”
“Why?”
“I don't have a license.”
“Why don't you have a license?” He looked utterly flabbergasted, as if he hadn't been driving her around everywhere.
“I'm poor.”
Steve turned to you, getting a frantic shake of your head.
“Absolutely not.” It was too nerve wracking for you. The first time you tried driving, you nearly had a panic attack and your mother had to calm you down from the passenger seat.
“I can drive.” Max spoke up, nearly making Steve have an aneurysm. You could practically see memories of before flashing behind his eyes, causing you to hide your smile.
He automatically pointed at her, “No! No. Never again. Please. Anyone but you. No.”
Dustin shrugged, suggesting himself. “No chance.” Steve sighed, “No.”
“C'mon.”
Alright, okay. This is stupid." Robin grabbed a flashlight out of Dustin's bag, walking towards Steve and dropping his keys back in his hands. “Us ladies will stick together.” She turned, grabbing your arm and walking to Nancy. She gave you a questioning look, asking if you wanted to go with them. You slightly smiled, grabbing a flashlight out of the bag next, as Robin continued to poke fun at Steve. “Unless you think we need you to protect us.”
Steve sighed.
Robin smiled at him as he shook his head, before turning to walk towards Nancy's car.
“Be careful!” He called out, watching as you got into the car.
“Just gonna stand there and gawk?”
"Shut up.”

Lipstick Stains
Tumblr media
Billy Hargrove x Harrington FemReader
Summary: There has been some new gossip floating through Hawkins High. The gossip being that Billy has a lipstick stain that just so happens to match a certain girl's iconic shade.
....................................................................
You were a Harrington. You had a certain standing that you had to keep cause of the expectations of your parents. One of those expectations were not making out with Billy Hargrove in his car in the back of the school parking lot during lunch. But your parents were never home so you didn't really give a damn.
"Billy we have to go back into the school at some point." You said releasing your lips from his. As you tried to pull back he pulled you in for another quick kiss.
"Oh come on, we don't have to." He smirked to you.
"Listen Mr. Bad Boy, I know you don't like school but I have a test." You said to him. He gave you a small pout at your response to which you just laughed at him. "You also messed up my lipstick." You said as you flipped the visor down to use the mirror to reapply your dark red lipstick.
"That's not the only thing I can mess up." He joked. You just gave him the look, he knew the look. It didn't need a name.
"Well Hargrove I have to get going." You brought yourself close to kiss his neck then up to the apple of his freckled cheeks. You collected you things to go back into the school before the bell. Before you shut the door you look back at Billy to see the two kiss marks that you left on him. You just smiled at him.
"Love ya, see you later." You said then shut the door to go to the school.
Billy continued with his day like usual. Thinking that nothing would go out of the ordinary. He knew he was hot shit so people were staring at him as perusal but he didn't know what they were staring at. In each class he had stares his way, to which he had to tell some off for looking too long.
"Nice job man." Tommy Hagan laughed as he patted his back. Billy was just confused about what he was talking about but he continued as nothing was wrong. The bell rang through the halls to signal that the school day was over. Billy made his way to the doors top the parking lot to leave when he saw a certain Steve Harrington staring him down from his locker.
"You got a problem Harrington?" He asked.
"Yeah, not with you though." Steve replied slamming his locker shut to go find a certain sister of his. Billy didn't know that, he was just confused and thought nothing of it. He finally was able to make it to his Camaro to wait for Max. Students around him were still looking at him. Some girls looking in distaste, not at him but at the kiss marks on his cheeks. Some guys were just laugh in congrats to him. Billy just wanted to get the hell out and get Max home so he can go see his girlfriend. Billy looked over to see a certain red head making her way over to his car.
"Get in shit-bird, I got places to be." He said as he got in the drivers seat while Max got in the passenger seat. She just stared at him, more than she would usually. Which is not at all. Billy glanced at her a few times.
"What?" He asked annoyed with her staring.
"What's on your face?" She asked. Billy was confused until he thought back to lunch. He grabbed his sun visor to look himself in the mirror to see the two kiss marks on him. Just as he thought, one on his cheek and the other on his neck. He just laughed what he was looking at.
"Well that explains a Lot." He sighed starting his car to drive away.
Later that day Billy was able to make it to the Harrington house hold. Instead of parking down the street, he parked in the driveway. Instead of climbing through the window of his girlfriends bedroom, he simply knocked the front door of her house. Which, unfortunately, the other Harrington answered. He and Steve just stared at one another for a moment.
"Hargrove."
"Harrington."
"What are you doing here?"
"I think you know why exactly I'm here, or you don't."
"I do know why you're here." Steve stated sternly.
"Then tell me, why am I here?" Billy gabbed at him with a smirk playing on his face.
"Can you guys stop having a dick measuring contest for once." Your voice was heard in a very much over it tone. "Get out of here Steve."
"But-" You stopped him from continuing.
"Eh, I don't wanna hear any more then I already have. You're being a Buttface." You sassed at him. "Now I would like to talk to my boyfriend."
Steve just rolled his eyes and sighed. Walking away from his enemy and his sister in the same door way. You turn your head back to Billy with a grin on your face.
"So what are you doing here, handsome."
"Well, I am here to see my girlfriend that I have to have a small chat about." His voice going a slight octave lower. Something that you loved.
"And what do you have to chat about?" You stilled teased at him.
"Well I made out with this gorgeous woman at lunch, and after I thought my day would go by like usual. But I had people staring at me all day. I didn't know why until I looked into the mirror to find that the exact pretty girl I was kissing left some marks on me." He explained to you. "Now I am at said pretty girls house to get a reason why she did that."
"Well I think she just wanted to have a bit of fun with you, if you ask me."
"Well as much as I love that, I think I would love to have some fun with her right now."
"Well you'er gonna have to wait on that, handsome." You said." Big Bro ain't to happy with me, I've been getting an ear full for the past hour."
"I can wait." He reassured. "I will always wait for you, gorgeous." You just smiled at him and dragged him into your house.
"Is he staying long?" Steve's distant voice was heard.
"Shut up Steve." You yelled out to him. "Like I said, ear full all day."
You and Billy just laughed at the situation. But at least you both can enjoy each others company in the end.
...................................................................
I hope y'all enjoyed this. Sorry if it is short. I know I haven't been to active, writing wise, lately. I'm trying to get through school right now.
I will try to get more out for Boots and Trumpets, and Practically Magic later.
Thank you for reading.

This shouldn’t hurt as much as it does.
Things could’ve ended far worse than they actually did. Hell, most of the couples in their school tended to make breakups as dramatic as possible, normally painting one half of the relationship as some kind if irredeemable monster, if not to paint them as this sympathetic martyr, than just to save face that it actually hurt.
In her case, Eddie Munson told her they just weren’t a good match and he wanted to be friends again instead. That was as healthy as they could possibly get. And in the best case scenario, too, she’d still be able to have him be a part of her life. She didn’t think she could stand the thought of seeing him in the halls and not being able to acknowledge him.
She’d fallen hard and fast for Eddie, embarrassingly so.
Given the heavy duty of designated driver for the little hooligans she’d somehow decided to adopt with Steve Harrington, she’d gotten accustomed to waiting in the high school parking lot, her nose pressed into the creases of her current novel while she waited for them to finish their important campaigns, all procured from the brilliant mind of Eddie Munson.
She’d known him before then, too, but only in passing. He’d often make a big spectacle of himself in the cafeteria just to bug the other students, and he held the record as super senior. But she’d never even talked to him until she saw him walk the boys out after a seemingly successful campaign, his arms wrapped tightly around Dustin and Lucas’ shoulders as he praised them.
He’d acknowledged her when he got to her car.
“My fair maiden,” he’d said, “I apologize for the delay.”
She’d blubbered out some kind of half-hearted response, good enough to make him laugh, and that made her heart go a million miles a minute.
It didn’t take long before she’d gotten the courage to ask him out, even if it was just for coffee. He was surprised, but he agreed.
It had been nice, he even drove her home after. She probably should’ve seen the signs then because he didn’t suggest a second meet up, she had instead. And he’d agreed.
It was about a month before they made themselves official, in Hawkins High language, practically married. But it really just meant she got to hold his hand between classes and get quick kisses goodbye when it was time to separate, somehow always on her cheek than her lips.
She’d thought their dates were fun; it was a lot of pressure since he always left it up to her, never having any other idea than lounging about her home and just watching TV. But she was the one who thought of renting movies for horror marathons, figuring it was up his alley. She thought of bowling and drive-in theaters and picnicking near the quarry for its desolate atmosphere, another thing she figured was right up his alley.
But things came to an underwhelming end when Eddie approached her at her locker on some random Thursday to tell her things just weren’t working out and he wanted to stay as friends. Despite how much even that had hurt, she agreed. She didn’t want to make him do anything he regretted.
She could still be friends with him, happily so. That meant she could still sit with him at lunch, hear his outlandish tales, and be able to admire him from afar, even if she was no longer able to touch him and hold his hand.
“Be honest,” she’d heard Gareth say as she approached with her tray, “what really happened? You know, most guys woulda killed to be able to take her out, the fact she stuck around for months is surprising enough.”
Eddie shrugs, chewing absentmindedly on a pretzel he’d brought. She would pack him lunches when they were together since he always forgot and resorted to eating prepackaged things instead. Since they broke up, it seemed like old habits really did die hard.
“To tell you the truth,” he starts rather dramatically, “no substance. Pretty face, nice voice, real sweet, but God, boring as all hell.” He runs a hand down his face. The other boys seemed surprised. Dustin and Mike share a look, but say nothing, clearly waiting to hear more. Because there was no way it could be just that. There had to be more. They knew her better than anyone, had been through so much with her. What could be the real reason Eddie broke things off?
“And?” Dustin coaxes.
“And what?”
“Dude, seriously?” Mike scoffs. “She wasn’t interesting enough for you?”
Eddie shakes his head. “Look, she’s a great gal. And I know you guys are super close, which is awesome, but we just weren’t the best match. And I felt like shit that she was putting in all of the effort when I wasn’t interested. Now she’s free to...I dunno...find someone boring, too.” He sniggers, elbowing Jeff beside him trying to get him to laugh, too, but he could see how upset Dustin and Mike were.
Luckily, for her sake, they didn’t notice her standing there, having overheard everything. Spinning right back around, she’d ditched her tray onto one of the trash bins before leaving the cafeteria completely before there was a chance anyone could see her tears.
God, it shouldn’t hurt as much as it does, she thinks again. He was more than welcome to have his own opinion, but why did it have to be something like that?
He was right, she wasn’t exactly Chrissy Cunningham or Heather Holloway, being this huge spectacle that made every new day more exciting than the last. All things considered, sometimes too much excitement frightened her. Having risked her life at least once a year for nearly four years now made her yearn for the more simple things. It was stupid of her to think Eddie would want the same. Eddie Munson, who liked to make scenes in the cafeteria and rock out in a bar with his band. He didn’t crave the simplicity of life like she did.
She didn’t go back into that cafeteria for the remaining of the lunch period. In fact, she’d decided to skip the rest of the day completely, knowing she shared three periods with Eddie and right now she really didn’t want to see him. She just wanted to get away, leave herself to her own thoughts to try to calm down.
Well, that really only lasted for ten minutes because she found herself pulling into the small parking lot into Family Video. She spots Steve’s car at the far end and knows he’s inside. It was childish of her to go running and crying to Steve Harrington, who she knew would take her side and say all the cruel things about Eddie that she couldn’t bring herself to because she really just needed someone on her side right now. Aside from Dustin and Mike, of course. She wouldn’t forget how they jumped to her defense.
The little bell rings at the top of the door as she walks in, startling Steve into consciousness, who seemed to be snoozing on the edge of the counter, drool pooled across his forearm. He wipes feverishly at his face and blinks unfocused in her direction, trying to situate himself quickly into his customer service face.
“Welcome to Fam-Jesus, you scared me,” he cuts himself off when he at last realizes it’s her. Confused, he turns to glance at the clock hung up on the wall. “Don’t tell me school’s out already? You beat Robin here.”
“No, I’m playing hooky,” she shakes her head, unsteadily moving towards the counter.
“What? You? I’m sorry, am I still dreaming?” Steve asks dramatically. “Since when do you, of all people, ever skip class? I’d sooner believe Nancy doing it than you.”
“Just...needed a break s’all,” she says with a shrug, looking around. “Keith not here?”
“Nah, he’s off today. Something about a new graphic novel he’s been dying to get. Says he’d have to wait overnight just to get one of the first editions. I don’t know, I don’t really listen to him unless he’s handing over my check,” Steve said. She leans up against the counter, trying to act casual. “Everything okay?”
“Yeah, why wouldn’t things be okay?”
“Well, for one, having to clarify that things are supposed to be okay when asked if everything’s okay is a pretty big indicator that things aren’t, in fact, okay.” Steve says with a laugh. “So everything’s not okay, then?”
“Everything’s okay,” she lies. “I just...can I ask you something?”
“Yeah?”
She isn’t sure how to come out and say it without sounding stupid. Better, she can’t figure out a way to come out and say it without sounding completely pathetic. But this was Steve, he was the king of asking her embarrassing things. He even called her once at three in the morning to ask how long you were supposed to leave cookies in the oven for. The follow up question was how to get the burnt smell out before his mom came home.
“Am I boring?”
Steve tilts his head. “Huh?”
“Am I boring, Steve? Am I boring?”
“No? Who gave you that idea?” Steve snorts, like he thinks it was a foolish thing to ask. “Whoever it is clearly hasn’t seen you handle a crowbar.” He was referencing when she’d nabbed a crowbar from the junkyard lot to fend off the demodogs with him, all to protect the little ones in the bus. She doesn’t want to remember that right now, not when it makes her feel cold inside.
“Nobody, I just...I dunno, I just think that maybe I’m not as exciting as, like...you o-or Rob or Nancy or, hell, even Jonathan.”
“Nonsense, you’re a badass! True story, you know I wouldn’t say that about just any...” Steve trails off, finally really looking at her. “Hey...hey, why are you really askin’ me that? Something happen? Someone say something to you?”
“No, Steve, I was just asking.”
“You’re lying,” he accuses. “Who was it, was it Byers? Nancy? Not Robin...”
“No! No, Steve, they didn’t say anything, please just drop it. I shouldn’t have asked.”
Steve’s face eventually relaxes, having realized he knew exactly who she was talking about.
“Munson.”
She shakes her head. “Stop it, Steve.”
“What did he say? I thought he just wanted to be friends, where’s all this coming from?” he asked. There were too many questions being thrown at her. She doesn’t want to cry, especially not in front of him, but as soon as she feels her cheek dampen that was it. Soon she was burying her face in her hands and trying to stop the little whimpers from coming out.
She doesn’t notice Steve leap easily over the counter. He pulls her close, shushing her quietly.
“Hey, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to make you upset,” he says. She sniffles, wrapping her arms around him. He’s petting her hair, kissing the crown of her head, trying his damndest to get her to calm down and talk to him. He was the perfect person to come to, she now realizes. Her subconscious knew Steve was the answer.
When she finally stopped crying, he at last let her go, giving her some space.
She rubs the tears from her eyes and wipes the tears on her jeans.
“Want me to kill him?” he asks jokingly. She laughs. He smiles again. “What happened? Can you tell me now?”
She told him what Eddie had said, the real reason he’d broken up with her and how she ran from the cafeteria and came here. Steve was reasonably upset, but he didn’t want to make it all about pounding Eddie into a pulp, he knew she needed her friend right now and he was prepared to be just that.
“Hey, screw him,” Steve scoffs, throwing an arm over her shoulders and pulling her back into his chest. “You’re far from boring, believe me, and honestly if you ask me you could do so much better than Eddie Munson. The guy picks his nose. I saw him once. It was gnarly.”
She’s laughing again, playfully hitting him.
“Thank you, Steve,” she says, “I’m sorry to dump all this on you, I just needed someone to talk to, you know?”
“Well, you came to the right guy. I can’t tell you it gets much better from public humiliation, but I can tell you that you find much better shit to focus on. Like this obviously stellar job. Robin. My new stereo I saved up for. And...well, you.” He playfully flicks her nose. She wrinkles her nose and swats his hand away. “Eddie doesn’t know what he’s talkin’ about. But I know he’s gonna kick himself in the ass when he realizes he lost a girl like you.”
“Yeah, you’re just saying that ‘cause you’re my friend.”
“Not true, I also wanna bug you for your famous cookies.” Steve winks.
“I can bring them to you tonight, then.” she said, patting his arm. “I should get going. Um...you clearly are very busy and I don’t wanna keep you from doing your job.”
“I know, such a bad influence. The gateway rebellion was skipping class. Now it’s job defiance,” Steve chuckles, rubbing the back of his neck. “Hey, um...if you want, when you come by tonight, maybe you could stick around? Was gonna rifle through the back, borrow some flicks to waste my evening away. Free to join me if you want? Robin flaked out on me, says she’s doing some band practice with Vicky. Didn’t ask for details.”
She thinks about it and smiles. “Sounds like fun. Girls’ night.”
“Invitation rescinded!” Steve shouts, turning away.
“No, I’m kidding, I’m kidding, stop!” she protests, giggling. “I’ll bring cookies and pizza, Steve. I’ll be there.”
“Alright, then,” Steve said. “Um...hey, don’t worry about Eddie, alright? He’s just being a dick. And honestly, apart from his relationship with the rugrats, he’s still gonna be a dick. He missed out on a girl like you. Clearly he’s a martian.”
“Doesn’t mean much when I’m from Hawkins. But thank you, Steve. I’ll see you tonight,” she says, squeezing his hand and finally leaving the store back to her car. She left feeling much lighter than she had going in. He was right. Forget Eddie. If he thought she was so boring he clearly didn’t need her around him. She had other friends, friends like Steve.
Smiling to herself, she climbs into the driver’s seat and turns the key into the ignition, hearing the engine roar to life.
Things would be just fine.

“I-I’ve never used one before.”
Nancy chuckles at you, a sly grin forming on her face as she shows you the glittery, pink dildo in her hand.
It’s pretty, you have to admit. From your limited knowledge of dicks, you guessed it had to be at least six inches in length, a four inch girth at the least. As you admired the toy, you noticed the small vein on the underside, knowing that would feel good up against your smooth, velvet walls.
“It’s okay, baby. I’m not gonna rush you or anything. Robbie can confirm it feels real good though. Can’t you, Robbie?”
You are laying on top of Robin’s chest, her left arm wrapped around your front as her right hand gently rubs up and down your thigh. Every single word she utters tickling against your neck, each sentence of hers being soothed by the harsh sucking of her teeth against your soft skin. “Oh yeah. It feels so good, baby. Especially when she speeds up. She just knows how to hit all the right spots.”
“And honey,” Nancy directs towards you, your lidded eyes lifting to make eye contact with your girlfriend, “If anything hurts at any time, do not be afraid to let me know, ‘kay? Want this to feel so incredibly good for you.”
“Okay…” you breathlessly let out, Robin’s hand getting dangerously close to your mound.
“Robbie, keep her open for me, ‘kay?” Nancy directs the other girl, “Rub her pretty little clit for me. Make sure she’s nice and wet. Don’t want to break her after all.”
Robin’s movements on your bud are just right. Her actions are lazy, yet firm, putting down just enough pressure for the pleasure to softly sit in the pit of your stomach. Just like you, she is too mesmerised by the sight of Nancy’s long legs stepping into the harness, so delicately and simply tightening the harness around her legs and front.
“Check her for me, Robbie. How wet is she?”
Robin knew exactly what Nancy wished of her, her hand dipping lower as she pushes two fingers into your heat, a choked moan releasing from your mouth. She pushes her fingers to the hilt, curling them slightly before pulling them back out.
As Nancy finishes tightening up the harness, she leans forward to inspect Robin’s fingers. Eyes flicking between the both of you laying down in front of her, she takes them into her mouth, sucking them clean and moaning at the flavour.
“Mmm, I think she’s ready. Such a needy girl, getting wet just at the sight of me and Robin’s poor, little actions.”
Nancy takes her palm and wipes it up your mound, using your slick as lube as she rubs the juices all over her dick.
“Perfect, perfect. Just the right amount. You’re so good for me, baby. So good for us,” she praises, “You ready to take mommy’s dick? I’ll start off slow, I promise.”
You nod ferociously, the movement of Robin’s hand back on your clit so agonisingly slow that you needed that extra dose of pleasure.
And just as you pleaded, Nancy slowly sinks the strap into your pussy, your walls hugging it tightly as she pushes to the hilt.
“Mmm, so fucking good for me, honey. Look at that, Robbie. Look how good our girl took it.”
Nancy slowly pulls out, before pushing all the way back in, creating a steady pace for you to enjoy.
Robin’s breath is still fanning on your neck, her voice low and sultry as she begins to whisper the dirtiest phrases into your ear.
“Taking her dick so well, baby. So perfect for your mommy. Poor pussy cannot let go of her.”
You can’t utter a word back, all that’s escaping your mouth being a guttural “Uh” every time Nancy hit the back of your pussy.
“Think she’s too cockdrunk for us, baby,” Nancy speeds up her pace, her hands coming to massage your perky breasts, “Poor thing can’t even get out a sentence, can you, honey?”
You swallow thickly as Nancy takes your nipple into her mouth, Robin’s fingertips pressing a little deeper on your clit, “F-Feels so good.”
“I know it does, pretty girl,” Nancy replies, bucking her hips in a particular harsh thrust, Robin letting out a gasp herself.
Her thrusts become more rapid, Robin letting out soft moans as she whispers out, “Balls are hitting my clit, babe. Shit!”
“Oh, are they?” she chuckles smugly, “Both my girls getting pleasured at once? What a sight to see.”
The room is filled with grunts, gasps, and moans, the bed creaking loudly with the sheer strength and weight of the three of you, the smell of sweat and sex lingering in the atmosphere.
“N-Nance, baby. Getting close,” you mumble out, Robin’s moaning directly into your ear, her hand struggling to keep a solid pace on your clit, her high slowly building up also.
In a harsh movement, Nancy grabs Robin’s hand from your clit, the other from your waist and pins them either side of her head, hovering over the both of you, hips bucking more frantically, trying to get you both to cum at the same time.
“Pleasure yourself, baby. Get yourself there. Get yourself to cum on mommy’s dick.”
You obey her orders immediately, right hand sneaking down to your clit, rubbing fast circles as your other gripped Nancy’s waist tightly, leaving marks in your movement.
Robin is the first to let go, a sharp whine being let out in your ear as her body shakes beneath you, Nancy grunting, turning into a whine as she bucks wildly into you, pushing you towards the edge.
“Come on, baby. I got you. Cum for mommy. Cum for me.”
And with that demand, you let go, Nancy pounding you through your high, juices coating the pink dildo as she also lets out a squeal, turned loud moan.
Coming down from your highs, Nancy puts her full body weight on top of you, Robin letting herself be crushed by the two of you, settling into a post-orgasm bliss.
“So… how did you find the strap?” Nancy asks you between pants.
You let out a soft giggle in response, “Put that in the regular use box. Gonna need that a lot more often.”
The three of you giggle together as you finally say in a sultry voice, “Although, maybe next time I could try it on.”
And both Nancy and Robin were definitely down for that.

“Eddie!”
The muffled screech jolted Eddie from his mundane dusting, the feathered duster falling with a heavy thud onto the dark carpet, dust flying in a cloud at his feet. “Son of a bitch,” Eddie huffed, chains of his belt rattling when he bent, snatching the duster off the rug.
“Eddie! Can you not hear me?” The piercing scream echoed through the hallway, echoing off the dark, wallpapered walls. Eddie knew he needed to hurry, that the banging on the coffin’s lid would come next, your fury following for the rest of the day.
“I’m coming, Mistress!” Eddie’s teeth gritted, sliding down the dim, candlelit halls. How this place had managed to not burn down yet, Eddie wasn’t sure. The three of you were careless enough with the candles, always leaving them burning without a care. He supposed it was his job.
“Eddie! Where the fuck is he?” Your muffled tone came from the coffin, black and dramatic in the middle of the room.
“I’m here, I’m here.” Eddie huffed, pushing his bangs back out of his eyes. He needed a haircut, desperately, but with his new career, he supposed that wouldn’t happen anytime soon.
“Finally,” You growled. Eddie was met with your glowing amber eyes narrowing in predatory rage when he lifted the coffin’s heavy lid. “Do you know how long I’ve been waiting?” You snapped.
“I’m sorry.” Eddie nodded, swallowing back a snapping comment. “I was dusting down the hall, and I lost track of-”
“-Nevermind.” You snapped, rising quickly into a standing position. “Help me down. I have much to do today.”
“Yes, Mistress.” Eddie stood to the side, offering his hand for you to take as you climbed down. He always wondered why you insisted on being helped out, as if you couldn’t fly out, snap your fingers and be wherever you wanted to be. It was symbolic, he decided, a way to ensure that he knew his place.
Your hand slid into his. His skin tickled when you brushed your long, claw-like nails that were freshly painted every Tuesday. He’d gotten very good at it, Eddie thought. A hiss fell through the room, your hand pulled back with a sizzling burn, teeth bared towards him in threat.
“What- Eddie! What have I told you about those rings?” You pointed accusingly at his rings- silver. It was a habit, to slip them on in the morning, one he hadn’t broken yet. “Are you trying to hurt me?”
“No, no.” Eddie shook his head frantically, tugging the rings off, shoving them in his pocket. “I’m sorry. I-I forgot-”
“-I’m sure you did.” You rolled your eyes, lips pursed in displeasure. “Don’t let it happen again. I burn myself again on those cursed things, and you’ll not have a hand to put them on anymore. Understand?” You clipped, nose in the air as you climbed down, nails digging into his skin just enough to solidify the threat.
“Yes, Mistress.” Eddie swallowed, following the commanding sway of your hips. “I won’t let it happen again.”
“Good.” You chirped. There it was. The whirlwind that was your emotions. Mood swings, Eddie never understood why they called them that until he met you. How you would go from raging to sweet in the bat of an eye. Maybe it came with being a vampire.
“Get my dress.” You waved your hand, the heavy mahogany closet door flinging open with ease.
“Which one were you wanting today?” Eddie swallowed his agitated sigh.
It had been a rough couple of days, the three- fuck, four, of his new found ‘roommates’ had been on a bender of sorts. A bender that would put the rockstars he idolized in high school to shame, much more metal than them. It was fun, Eddie would admit, but it was tiresome. Especially when he was still very much human, and so very exhausted.
“The black one.” You hummed, looking into a mirror you couldn’t see yourself in. Habit, of course, even after all these years.
“They’re all black, Mistress.” Eddie gritted, eyes pinching closed.
“The one with the long sleeves.” You waved him off. “You know the one I like.”
And he did. Eddie knew most everything about you at this point. Which dress you liked, your preference of food source, how many candles you liked lit at a time.
Eddie pushed through the racks, stopping when he saw the velvet garment. It was what you were wearing when he first met you. At the Hideout, where he was still bussing tables, hoping to finally get a weekend gig. You strolled in, magnetic from the moment his eyes laid eyes on you. So… intriguing in your tight velvet dress, fastened with a corset that held you up and in beautifully. Initially, he’d went to try and ask you out, and you’d humored his attempts because you were hungry. Then, after a few hours of conversation, you both decided he’d be a better Familiar than a meal.
“Eddie,” You hissed, breath whistling through your fangs. The sound never failed to make Eddie’s spine tingle, hair raising on the back of his neck in fear. “Have you hit your head? Is that it?”
“No,” Eddie grumbled, pushing the wooden hangers.
“Then what is it? Hm? Why are you dragging your feet today?” You snapped, hands curling around your hips.
“My apologies, Mistress.” Eddie huffed. “I’m just- nevermind. Here. I found it.” Eddie pulled the lacy material, hanging sleeves and bouts of black fabric out of the closet, hanging it on the door for you.
“No, finish what you were going to say.” Your eyes narrowed into his, commanding, but lacking the usual tone of challenge and threat. “You’re what?”
“It’s nothing. I’m fine. Do you need help zipping up this one-”
“-No, answer me, Eddie.” You lifted a finger towards him. “Do not make me use compulsion. I know how groggy and moody you get after it, and I have many plans for today. I’d rather not, but if you’re not going to comply, then I will be forced to-”
“-You don’t have to- Fuck, I’m just tired.” Eddie’s shoulders slumped in defeat, running a hand over his face. “I didn’t sleep much last night.”
“Why?” Your head tilted, lips pursed in curiosity, reaching for the dress before sliding behind the dressing curtain.
“Because,” Eddie tried to focus on the carpet, on the candle wax that dripped off the table, anywhere but the curtain you were behind though he ached for even a silhouetted sliver of your frame. “I just couldn’t sleep.”
“Maybe you should get a coffee?” You peaked over the bamboo wood, a brow lifting in… playfulness?
“I think Robin has the lock box in her room. Ask her for it and go get yourself one.” As if draining a victim of their blood wasn’t enough, Eddie’s career consisted of stealing from them too. It always left him feeling a little uneasy, guilty, robbing the deceased.
“I’m alright. I just need a second to wake up.” Eddie muttered, heel of his palm pressing to his eyes, rubbing so hard he saw stars.
“Fine, but I better not hear one yawn during the house meeting.” You glared, stepping out from behind the dressing curtain. “You know how that irks me. Zip me.”
Eddie stood, one hand holding the top together, pulling the zipper slowly up your spine, finger brushing over your spine. Your skin was cold, like ice, a chilling reminder of what you truly were.
“Last chance.” You turned, swiping your shoes from the floor, discarded from the night before. “Before I go and wake the others.”
“I’m fine.” Eddie nodded softly, lips curling with the hinting of a smile. “Thank you.”
Your lips pursed, shifting at the sudden gratitude. He knew you were about to say something mean, put him down to establish your own dominance, you were predictable that way. “Don’t thank me,” You scoffed. “It’s not for you. I don’t want to hear your yawning.” You scoffed, eyes rolling hard towards him, before you were stomping down the creaking wooden planks of the hall.
The Creel Mansion was still standing strong, despite its abandoned looking exterior. It had been your refuge for years, decades even, since Victor had first brought you there. It was his house before, but now all that remained of him was a portrait at the end of the hall, half covered by a black veil you refused to let Eddie move.
“Robin!” Your shrill tone made Eddie wince, ears ringing at the pitch. “Nancy!”
“What?” Robin groaned, her voice muffled with sleep from the door of her coffin, which you pulled open, uncaring of disrupting her slumber. “What- Why?”
“House meeting. Hurry, before he gets home.” You muttered, turning over your shoulder towards Eddie. “Eddie, go check downstairs. Make sure he didn’t slip in early.”
Eddie nodded, grabbing a small handheld lantern- a gift from you. He kept burning himself with the candle opera you’d gifted him, and when he wasn’t searing his skin off with the flame, he was turning to quickly and extinguishing all the flames. You told him it was because he’d wake you up with his fumbling in the dark. When you’d included the batteries with the small lantern, Eddie was convinced it was because you were growing a soft spot for him.
A creaking of a door had Eddie jumping, looking through the flickering flames with his bright plastic lantern. “Uh, hey,” Eddie stepped closer. “Anyone there?”
The silence was an eerie answer, Eddie swinging the lantern around. It was times like this, he really wished that the electricity still worked, that he could flick a light on, and see what was lurking in the shadows. The dining room appeared empty, a few spider webs and lots of dust, but lack of any danger Eddie could see.
“Looking for something?”
“Jesus Christ! What the fuck-” Eddie jumped, nearly dropping his lantern, tripping over his own feet to scatter away from the figure in front of him.
“Did I scare ya?” Jonathan’s lips curled in a half smile, standing rigidly in the doorway. “You know, they say if you get scared easily, you’re not living right. That’s a saying that’s been repeated and found all throughout history. In Christianity, oddly enough, is where they-”
“-Alright, Jonathan. I got it.” Eddie lifted a hand, his heart still hammering. He could feel his lids beginning to droop, eyes starting to gloss over the way they always did when Jonathan ‘fed’. A shitty excuse for a vampire, Eddie thought, What the fuck even is a psychic vampire?
“Oh,” Your face fell, contorting into a grimace when you came down the steps. “Jonathan, you are home early today.”
“Yes, I decided to come home early today.” Jonathan droned in a painful monotone that had your shoulders tensing. “I didn’t want to miss the house meeting.”
“Wonderful.” You grimaced, looking at Eddie with an annoyed sneer. He fought back a snicker, turning to the bat down a cobweb that he missed. You could be funny at times, when you wanted.
“I know you three tried to hide it from me, but you always talk too loud. You forget the walls are thin. Which reminds me, did you know that back in the early nineteen-hundreds when this house was first built, that architects of that time used-”
“-Yes, Jonathan. Please, shut the fuck up.” Robin groaned, falling into the leather armchair.
“Jonathan, I really can’t humor you today.” Nancy glared at him lightly. “You know the rules, if you’re going to be in a house meeting with us, you can’t feed off of us.”
“I know.” Jonathan lifted his hands. “Sorry, I can’t help myself.” He turned to Eddie with a grin. “Guess it’s just you I’ll be feeding from.”
“Not from my Familiar either, Jonathan.” You snapped, teeth baring in territorial threat. “Eddie is off limits.” Eddie’s chest swelled with pride, chin tipping towards the floor, hoping it would hide his blush.
“Why are we even having a house meeting?” Robin rolled her eyes, the bags under her eyes especially prominent from lack of slumber.
“Because,” You hissed, shoulders tight with annoyance. “You three need to get your own familiar.”
Robin scoffed, Nancy rolling her eyes in agreement. “What?”
“You three always call for Eddie to do everything, and it distracts him from me.” You jabbed a sharp nail into your chest. “I need him to be attentive to my needs, not yours. Go get your own familiar.”
“Oh, please-”
“-We only ask him to do a few things that should already be done-”
“-I have to agree with Rob and Nance on this one.” Jonathan lifted a finger.
“Do not call me that.” Nancy hissed, her teeth baring in the dull light of the room.
“Nan?” Jonathan turned, eyes lighting up though his expression stayed neutral, the way it always did when he was feeding.
“Ok,” You lifted your hands, stopping the attack Nancy was about to launch. “Find your own familiar. Eddie is my familiar, and is to attend to me exclusively.”
“I’m sure he does.” Robin muttered, Nancy’s snicker making your ears burn- well, it would, if they still could. Eddie’s cheeks did burn a bright red, shifting at the innuendo.
Your eyes narrowed, a threatening glare that neither of your roommates seemed phased by, only furthering your irritation. A sharp snap of your fingers, heavy soled steps clicking down the hall, and Eddie was following you.
“Idiots,” You hissed, flinging the door open. “All of them. I should’ve told them no, that they’d have to find their own nest, but oh no. I had to feel fucking generous and kind that day.”
Eddie stood in your doorway, hands rubbing down the material of his jeans, unsure of what to say, what to do. His eyes on you, waiting for your next command, for you to tell him what you were wanting, what you were thinking.
“Are you just going to stand there?” You huffed, a lashing tone that had Eddie jumping.
“No, wha-what do you need me to do?” Eddie stammered, uneasy with the glare you were giving him, so menacing. He knew better, or at least he thought he did, that you wouldn’t hurt him. You’d chosen him to be your Familiar for a reason… right?
“I don’t know, something?” You scoffed, eyes rolling back over his frame. “Maybe start with changing your clothes. We’re going out tonight and I’m not being seen with you in that.”
Eddie’s lips pursed, jaw grinding tight. He’d blame the lack of sleep on his agitation. “What do you want me to wear then, Mistress?” Eddie’s tone was bitter, toying on the edge of annoyance.
“Who are you speaking to-”
“-You.” Eddie snapped, shocking both of you. There was a pause, realization washing over the two of you. “I just- I like what I have on, ok?” Eddie’s tone was softer, looking down at his ripped jeans and holey band tee. “It’s what people from this century wear.”
Your lips rolled, flattening into a furious line. For a moment, Eddie thought you might pounce- fully preparing himself for the hiss, the baring of teeth, to feel his throat being ripped from his neck. Instead, you simply huffed, turning on your foot.
“Fine.” A quipping, positively moody huff of a reply came. In that moment, you sounded petulant, human.
“If you insist on wearing mauled clothing, then so be it.” You shrugged, a snarl still pulling on the edge of your lips.
“Thank you.” Eddie nodded, swallowing down the tremble in his throat. “And, uh, thank you for before, too.” You turned, brow lifted in intrigue. “For- During the meeting.”
“I didn’t do that for you.” Your reply was quick, teetering on defensive. “I did that for myself. I can’t wait for you because they’re too lazy to go out and compel their own Familiar.”
“Right.” Eddie’s shoulders slumped in defeat. He gave up, ready to throw the towel in. Clearly, you were set on your mood and there would be no changing it. No swaying it with charming kindness today.
“I’m going to go.” Eddie stepped towards the door. “I’ll go dust or something. Just let me know when you’re ready to go-”
“-No.” Your voice echoed through the halls, bouncing off the walls, a sense of urgency that had Eddie freezing.
You wrung your hands in front of you, anxiously. “No, just- stay in here.”
Eddie frowned. “You just told me to go do something.”
“I know,” You huffed. “But, just stay in here with me. Robin and Nancy won’t be ready for hours, and… and if you go down there Jonathan will try to feed and drain you, and-”
Eddie recognized the ramble in your tone, a sliver of humanity breaking through the cracks of your cold, monstrous exterior. It was rare, you to turn soft like this- needy, but Eddie knew why you did it. He knew what you wanted.
“Fine.” Eddie nodded, stepping into your bedroom, shutting the door carefully so the candles didn’t blow out.
A lingering pause fell between the two of you, thick with an uncomfortable but familiar tension. Routine but an oddity all the same.
“What do you want me to do in here, hm?” Eddie’s voice dropped, slow steps across the hardwood towards you. “Just sit here and stare at you.”
“No,” Your chest tightened. It had been years since your heart had beat, but you swore Eddie could make it skip. “Surely, there’s something better that we could do to pass the time.” You declared, voice a little shaky with desperation to regain your control.
“Yeah? What do you have in mind?” Eddie’s lips curled in a smirk, his face near inches from yours. “I’m at your service, Mistress.”
Your body tingled with heat, the only warmth you craved, the only warmth you needed. You were shocked, when you first transitioned to your undead state, that this feeling didn’t go away. If anything, it grew stronger.
“I think you know what I have in mind.” You glared at him, half heartedly. “Don’t make me beg, or I’ll make you beg later.”
“I would never, Mistress.” Your thighs twitched, Eddie’s hands sliding over the lacy material of your dress, the swell of your hips. “I’m your faithful servant. You just tell me what you want- whatever you need.”
“Hm,” You breathed slowly, your body closing in with him, chest to chest. Your nails raked over the etched skin of his forearms, dragging a sharp nail up his neck, to his jaw. Eddie shuddered, fingers sinking into your waist
Your lip grazed over his, mouth parting just barely, your fangs hovering over his bottom lip teasingly. Eddie swallowed back a moan that you didn’t miss. Your eyes met his, darker now- nearly black, the way they always darkened when you got like this. Aroused and needy, entirely hungry for something.
“You’ve got to be quiet this time.” You gave him a pointed look. “They heard last time. They’re starting to catch on.”
“Sorry.” Eddie swallowed, nose brushing over yours. He wanted to press his hand to the back of your head, kiss you with an urgency, but he knew better. That wasn’t how you liked it. Oh no, you liked the anticipation, the adrenaline filled excitement that came with teasing.
“Who cares if they know anyways?” Eddie muttered brainlessly, eyes glossing when they met yours. “What’s so wrong with it?”
“It’s unnatural.” You whispered. “Complicated.”
“What’s so complicated about it?” Eddie scoffed lightly, hand sliding up your spine, towards your zipper. “You’re turning me into a vampire anyways, right? Why’s it matter?”
You hesitated, breath hitching and ghosting over his lip, chilling him. “It’s just- it makes things difficult now.” You stammered, fingers sliding through his hair. “I don’t want to talk about that now.” Your thumbs pressed lightly to his temples, his eyes meeting yours.
“For now,” You purred, lips curling in a small grin. “I think you should thank me again, but this time,” Your nose brushed over his. “By letting me sit on your face. That seems fair, right? You thank me, I keep you quiet- a win-win.”
Eddie blushed, lips spreading in a wide grin. “Yes, Mistress.”

I Want Your Video; Steve Harrington x Reader 📼
summary: steve always takes care of you on a night out.
word count: 1.4K
warnings: drinking, smoking, swearing, fem!reader, fluff
a/n: inspired by a djo song with the same title. i’m such a sucker for steve <3
“I ‘ave to go t’the bathrooom,” you tell Steve, holding tight to the hot skin of his bicep. In a drunken stupor, your thumb swipes sweetly over it once, unable to resist.
His other arm, the one you’re not holding to, has your clutch tucked under it. It’s unclear if he’s being gentlemanly or if he’s monitoring your intake. He certainly didn’t take Nancy’s or Robin’s. Or Argyle’s belly bag.
“‘Kay, be safe,” Steve says, patting your elbow. He looks a touch hot, red-cheeked and a little damp around the edges. Dancing must’ve made a mess of you if he looks so disheveled from just standing and talking. You furrow your brows.
“Come with me?” Pouting, your grip slides down to take his hand, but he pulls away.
“Uh—maybe Nance or Rob should do that.”
He says it like such a request is verboten. You look back towards Nance and Robin, relentlessly moving on the dance floor.
“They won’t go with meeee—“ you whine, and then simper when he sighs in defeat.
Steve steers you toward the stairwell that leads down to the toilets. While you weave through the crowds, he stays behind you, a steadying force at your back.
The stairwell is much cooler than the bar. It’s a relief to suck in air that’s not muggy with sweat and beer. At the bottom of the dingey stairs a couple is draped over one another talking closely, and nearer to the bathroom there’s a trio of people sharing a smoke and waiting. Steve and you take up residence just next to them. The concrete wall is cooling on your hot back and it elicits a sigh.
“Having fun?” Steve asks, facing you with his arms crossed and a shoulder leant on the wall. Your clutch is shoved in his front pocket like a miniature Bible.
“Uh-huh.” You nod with exaggerated windedness. “Wish you’d dance with me, though.”
The bathroom door clicks open and a guy comes out, nodding awkwardly at all seven heads turned his way. The queue dwindles to three again—plus Steve, who is smiling at you apologetically.
“Nah, you wouldn’t wanna see me dance. I tend to intimidate people with how skilled I am.”
A laugh bubbles out of you. “Ohhh, right,” you nod. “Must be hard, having all that talent. And you’re s’busy keepin’ me sober.” You speak so fast the words slur on the way out, and Steve chuckles teasingly.
“I’m doin’ a shit job, aren’t I? You’re in a state already.” He reaches out and brushes your arm when he says this, his knuckles leaving goosebumps behind them. When he pulls his hand back he’s grown more sincere. “Who said I’m keeping you sober? I’ve let you drink all you want.”
“You let me,” you tease, “But you’re keeping my wallet. And you’ve been watching me all night.”
“Yeah, well.” He looks defensive. “Someone’s gotta have your back.”
The bathroom door opens again, and the line shrinks even more. You pick the conversation right back up.
“What ‘bout Nance and Rob? And the guys?” Turning toward Steve, your arms cross so you’re mirroring him. “They’ve all got their wallets.”
“They’ve got each other, too.” Steve playfully swings at your shoulder, and you take the hit willingly. “Who’s got you, huh, rockstar?”
A smile splits your face with glee at the nickname. You step closer and you’re about to answer—you, you’ve got me—when Steve clears his throat.
You frown, and Steve smiles, juts his chin toward the bathroom door. It’s empty, you realize, and Steve and you are alone. It seems the third member of the bathroom trio was only company, like Steve.
“You know what to do,” Steve mutters, and you reluctantly peel away from the wall.
“Oh, wait!” You whip around and offer a hand out for your wallet. Steve gives it over wordlessly, and then you’re locking the door behind you.
As suspected, you look a mess. Your hair is frizzed and a touch tangled. Dark mauve eyeliner has smoked itself out—all over your undereye—and your cheeks are red and dampened with sweat.
Despite it all, you feel good. You brought your clutch so you could touch up your lipstick, and you do, but you don’t need to. It’s almost like what Steve said; You’re a rockstar. You look like one, anyway.
After washing your hands, the only thing you do to your appearance is fluff your hair up even more, playing up this smudged version of your original look.
It feels impossibly easy to grin at Steve once you emerge from the bathroom. Steve laughs.
“Why do I feel like you got more drunk while you were in there?”
You tighten your smile primly. “Not drunker, just better looking.”
Steve pulls his brows together almost painfully, his features unreadable. You saunter over to him anyways, stepping into his bubble. His full back is pressed to the wall now, a leg kicked up, and you’re as close as you can get without being thigh-to-knee. Steve’s nervous eyes scan you.
“Want me to take that?” Steve points to your clutch. You nod, but ignore the hand he has waiting for you. Feeling bold, you reach around him and tuck it into his back pocket. Your chests meet, and then crush closer as you both gasp. Pulling away feels suddenly impossible, so you don't, and Steve doesn’t make you. He licks his lips.
“Y’didn’t lock the door,” he mumbles, but your brain jumbles as his hand smooths over your ribs.
“Hmm?” You can’t be bothered with words, feeling more intoxicated by his touch than the three drinks in your system.
Steve rubs a small circle over your side. “The bathroom door,” he says softly, “it stayed on vacant the whole time.”
Oh, yeah. It had. Your mouth pops open, and then you shoot him a wry grin.
“Whoops.”
Steve’s responding head shake is exasperated but fond.
“You trust me too much,” he sighs.
It’s not a joke. A string of insecurity holds the sentence together, and you know what it is. It’s easy to see that he knows, too. Moving closer, committing to the embrace you’ve found yourself in, you pin Steve with a sincere stare.
“Do I?” It’s excessively rhetorical, stilling any rebuttal he has. Steve purses his lips together, and then glances at yours. You toe up ever so slightly, in anticipation. Both of Steve’s hands are on you now, though they’re holding your arms, keeping you at bay.
“We can’t,” Steve whispers, glancing at the stairwell, and you realize the bar is still upstairs with all of your friends. They’d probably come looking soon, vying for another round, another dance. You look to the stairwell too, and then to the other side of the hall, and back to Steve.
“Yet here we are.” The murmur is sultry, luring Steve closer, tempting his hand to wind into the soft hair at the nape of your neck.
“Here we are,” Steve repeats, and then your lips are abruptly too occupied by his to respond.
Steve’s hand that’s not gripping your neck winds over your shoulders, keeping you close. His nose crushes to your cheek as he drags his mouth over yours again and again.
A part of you—the same part that’s observing how good of a kisser he is—can’t believe you’re mouth to mouth with the Steve Harrington from high school. The other half, probably the truer half, knows it’s been a long time coming. Years of patching up and skirting around each other, protecting each other because you had to, and now taking care of each other because you wanted to. Because no one else would.
When you separate, you’re both breathless and effervescent. Steve is staring at you like you hung the moon.
“You’re so beautiful,” he coos, his thumb caressing the rosy apple of your cheek. Steve has a way of marrying sincerity and charm, and it needles at your heart ruthlessly.
You beam and kiss him again as a thank you.
“Think you might be glowing,” he continues, speaking right into your mouth. His teeth clack against yours as the kiss grows too smiley for its own good.
“You look pretty, too,” you goad, tracing his lips. “Cherry’s a good look on you.”
Steve pinches his brow and then notices your smeared lipstick.
“Aw, come on.”
You laugh and help him wipe it off, but when you return to the bar later, Argyle still complements Steve’s beautiful makeup.

You wake earlier than they do, shards of sunlight peeking through Steve’s pathetically thin and badly arranged curtains hitting you straight in the face.
You don’t move initially, enjoying the sound of both boys’ soft, rhythmic breaths, grateful they’ve both had the opportunity to rest and sleep.
You use this moment of stillness to allow the events of the previous night to filter through your consciousness. Eddie’s still here. He’s somewhat warmer than he was, and is still breathing. You’ll take all of those as a win.
His arm is still wrapped around your ribs, his chest against your back. During the night, one of his thighs has made its way between yours, and his hips are now pressed up against the swell of your ass.
You suppose that if you look at it objectively, he’s in a pretty good approximation of the Recovery Position. Good for him. Promoting healing, aiding recovery, and all that.
And you suppose that if you look at it subjectively, having the entire length of Eddie’s body squashed against the entire length of yours, and having his leg pressed against you just there, stirs feelings that are inappropriate for you to be having right now. Such as how much you’re enjoying it. How safe you feel. How much you wish there weren’t even these small, thin pieces of fabric separating you from him…
He snuffles behind you, groaning softly, and his arm contracts, pulling you even closer to him. You’d much prefer it was more than just the involuntary tensing of a waking man that’s causing him to do this, but push that thought to the back of your mind.
You slowly turn your head as far as you can, only able to see a little of him out of the corner of your eye. His hair is fuzzy as hell, but that’s the least of your concerns right now.
In what you hope is a soft and comforting voice, you ask,
“Morning, big guy. How’re you feeling?”
Eddie’s voice is cracked and broken, like he hasn’t used it in a while. It’s gravelly and low as he mumbles,
“Mmf. A little sore, but warm. God, it feels so good to be warm…”
His arm clenches around you again, and he pushes his face into the back of your neck.
Trying to cover an unbidden moan, and inject some levity, you reply,
“Well, thank goodness for that, otherwise all of mine and Steve’s efforts last night would’ve been for nothing.”
Eddie shifts, starting to get a sense of where he is and the situation he’s found himself in. It causes Steve to stir behind him and let out a little groan of his own, and you feel Eddie freeze.
Trying to calm him and keep this obviously bizarre situation simple and light, you mumble,
“Yeah, body heat seemed to be the best way to keep you warm. I don’t suppose waking up naked between me and Harrington was on your bucket list, right?”
Eddie’s cheeks don’t exactly flush (going from pale grey to pale pink far too much of a gradient to be entirely achievable right now), but you do notice a little warmth appear in them.
Eddie jests, at least you think he’s jesting, as his grip around you tightens again, stronger this time as his muscles wake up, and he chuckles lightly as he smooshes his face into your hair,
“Well, it's definitely not the worst place I’ve ever woken up.”
This rouses Steve enough that he’s now fully awake, and he seems to remember where he is too. He moves away from Eddie and sits up, rubbing his eyes and yawning. Glancing over, he mumbles,
“Hey, man. So, there’s literally hundreds of things I wanna ask you right now, but I guess I’ll start with, uh, how are you?”
Steve’s face contorts with a mix of incredulity and embarrassment at the utter banality of the question he just asked.
Unfazed, Eddie replies,
“Honestly, dude? I’m not entirely sure…”
He tries to shift his legs to sit up, but realises how enmeshed they are with yours, and inadvertently pushes his thigh up even closer to you.
Steve continues, unable to stop himself.
“What happened? Where have you been? How did you even get here?”
Eddie lets out a long, low exhale.
Finally picking up on how tired Eddie still is, and how tangled your and Eddie’s limbs are, you guess Steve decides he doesn’t want to get into any of that right now and declares,
“Y’know what, I’m gonna go make coffee.”
He grabs some sweats and a crumpled tee, and heads out towards the kitchen, leaving you and Eddie alone.
Fuck, this is awkward.
After a short pause, you mumble,
“Yeah, I suppose we should get up too. The kids are gonna be beside themselves, I’d prepare yourself for a barrage of questions if I were you.”
Exhaling, you somewhat reluctantly extricate yourself from Eddie’s embrace, sitting on the edge of the bed and reaching for the pile of clothes you’re grateful you had the foresight to put out last night.
Pulling on jeans, a worn t-shirt and a woollen jumper, you sit back down and turn to Eddie, who’s now leaning up against Steve’s battered headboard, sheets bunched around his waist.
You notice his eyes are still sunken and red-rimmed, but he’s lost some of the sallowness that he had last night, and his features are significantly more relaxed.
As he sits up you have the chance to observe his torso properly. He’s thinner, and much paler, than the boy you remember. The odd appearance of his musculature that you could see last night is still abundantly present.
And there are scars. Lots of scars. They vary in appearance and colour, rough slashes and violent starbursts, in silvery white, muted pinks and shades of angry purples and reds. Some look smooth and well-healed, whilst others are raised and jagged. Some transect the inked designs you came to know so well, and it looks like he might’ve lost a nipple.
Realising you’ve been staring, you tear your eyes away and move them instead to Eddie’s face. He looks terrified, like he’s worried you’re going to find him abhorrent and run away screaming.
He starts to reach for the covers, to cover himself, but you lunge forwards and grab one of his hands in yours. You don’t break his gaze as you tell him,
“It’s okay, Eddie. You don’t have to hide yourself from me.”
His face softens, but his eyebrows remain pinched and his lips are still pressed tightly together.
Finally looking down as you stroke over his hand with both of yours, you notice that the wounds that you bathed and tended to only a few hours ago are practically healed, only a few areas of redness remaining where there were bleeding gashes and scarlet grazes. Some have almost disappeared.
You decide not to focus on this and concentrate instead on the fact that your friend, your best friend, the one you all thought was dead, is back with you here, right now.
Grasping his hand in both of yours, you murmur,
“However it happened, it’s really, really good to have you back, you know.”
He smiles then, and although it reaches his eyes, it does little to lift the grey pallor of his face.
He brings his other hand over, and as he rubs his thumbs over your knuckles he notices the ring on your thumb. He runs a pad over the contours of the skull.
“You- You kept this?”
“Of course! I wear it every day. It helps me remember my best friend.” Your voice gets quiet as you add, unsure whether you’re overstepping.
“It helps keep you close to me.”
You hold each other's gaze for a beat too long, and Eddie’s lips open as if he’s going to say something.
Before he has the chance, a ball of anxiety rises in your throat, and you decide you can’t take the risk of him… what?
Telling you you’re stupid? That it doesn’t mean anything? That he wants his ring back?
You know none of this sounds like anything Eddie would say, but in your fragile, exhausted state you need to protect yourself from the risk of emotional harm, no matter how small.
You remove your hand from his and bend to retrieve the clothes Steve left for him, reasoning with a small smile,
“We don’t want you getting cold again, right?”
Eddie starts to dress, grunting a little as his limbs start working again. He only has time to pull on the worn sweatshirt when the door bursts open and the kids rush in. Dustin first, swiftly followed by Mike and Lucas, whilst Will and Jane hang back in the doorway.
The three teens leap, grinning, onto Steve’s bed, whooping and hollering and rolling around. They’re full of questions and theories and tales of what they’ve been doing whilst he’s been gone, all talking over one another.
Whilst Eddie is smiling and laughing and you can tell he’s buoyed by their love and exuberance, you also know he still needs to recover from last night, let alone whatever else he might have been through these past few weeks. So after a few minutes you shoo them out, instructing them to go help Steve make breakfast.
Dustin’s the last to leave, pausing in the doorway as he turns back, running his hand down his cheek and saying, with an infinitely adoring expression on his face,
“I can’t believe you’re here, man. It’s so good to have you back.”
They share friendly smiles before Dustin turns on his heel and follows the others, his voice decreasing in volume as he heads down the hallway yelling,
“I’m on toast duty today! You guys ate all the good peanut butter last time…”
You both snicker at their antics, Eddie shaking his head a little.
You want to say more, but settle for,
“They missed you. We all did.”
Eddie furrows his eyebrows and rolls his lips inwards into a tight-lipped smile, and you sense that he’s just as emotional as you all are.
He continues dressing, and you’re relieved the kids didn’t see Eddie’s scars, for all their sakes. You’re not sure whether they’re ready to revisit what happened in the Upside Down, and you don't want Eddie’s first day back with you all to involve him having to uncomfortably explain where they all came from.
He dons the rest of the unfamiliar clothing, and eventually stands, facing you. He spreads his arms wide and pulls a goofy face, raising his eyebrows high and flattening his mouth into a thin line, knowing how unlike ‘him’ he must look right now.
You never imagined you’d ever see your favourite black-loving metalhead in an oversized heather grey Hawkins Athletic sweatshirt, worn navy sweatpants and fluffy white sports socks, but needs must, and at least it’s all clean and he’s staying warm.
There’s a crash in the kitchen, startling both of you, but it prompts you to suggest,
“Come on, let’s go see what chaos those guys are causing.”
You direct him to the front of the house, and as Eddie shuffles into the kitchen all eyes turn to him. You see the kids take in his fluffy hair and new garb. He notices and, preemptively gesturing to himself and in a very close approximation of his Dungeon Master voice, says,
“If anyone says anything about this, I swear I will kill you. Got it?”
Mike and Lucas try to act like they weren’t even looking, and Dustin raises his hands in supplication. Jane laughs at the boys’ responses and Will smirks at the shenanigans, and you’re certain he and Eddie are going to get along just fine.
The kids have made everyone a simple breakfast of boiled eggs, toast and fresh oatmeal and they bring it to the large farmhouse-style table as everyone gets situated. Craving his proximity, you take the chair next to Eddie. Steve’s made a large pot of hot coffee, which is swiftly devoured by the four adults and almost instantly requires replenishment.
The kids want to fill Eddie in on, well, everything. Over breakfast there’s much chatter about what’s been happening in town, how the three of you ended up staying here, how kind and supportive Wayne and Owens have been, even a somewhat discombobulating discussion of what Eddie’s funeral was like. Plus there’s tales from the boys about D&D and stuff that’s important to the teens, most of which you zone out of.
Eddie is also properly introduced to the two he doesn’t know. He greets Will with a broad smile and claps both his hands around the boy’s slender one, a symbolic gesture full of characteristic Eddie warmth, welcoming another sheep even though this particular one has known the others for many years.
You don’t think anyone else notices, but you don’t miss the moment of extended eye contact and tiny nods that are exchanged between him and Jane, as they are introduced and shake hands.
Eddie seems to have a good appetite, devouring four warm, runny-yolked eggs, three slices of toast slathered with butter and jelly, and two large bowls of oatmeal with honey and syrup in rapid succession.
There’s some syrup on his chin when he’s finished. You want to clean it off with your thumb and suck it into your mouth, but you resist the urge.
The food cheers him, even seems to put a little colour in Eddie’s cheeks. Well, perhaps not colour exactly, but a move from grey to white is certainly progress. It’s hardly Cordon Bleu cuisine, but Eddie’s hoovered it up like it’s the best meal he’s ever had. You wonder what he’s been surviving on all this time to make such simple stuff seem so luxurious.
Coffee mugs are refreshed, the table is cleared, and there follows a semi-formal exchange of the personal items of Eddie’s that are in the cabin. Lucas returns his pocket knife, which Eddie thanks him for with a bro handshake and a half-hug, and Dustin gets down on one knee and presents him with his wallet chain on outstretched hands, as if he’s presenting a weapon or battle trophy to his commander. Eddie ruffles his hair and brings him in for a crushing bear hug.
Robin and Steve return his crucifix and boar’s head rings, which he dons, and you can’t help noticing that they’re slightly looser than they used to be. You’re grateful nobody questions why you don’t return the skull ring to him, or seems to notice the knowing glance and small smile that he gives you.
Dishes are cleaned and yet more coffee is brewed, and you head to the utility room to see how Eddie’s clothes are doing in the (noisy, and possibly unsafe) drier. As you return there’s a lull in the conversation.
Ever the direct one, Robin can’t stand the not knowing any longer, and as Steve pours the next round of coffees she blurts,
“So, what the fuck happened? We thought you were dead. You were dead. They fucking buried you!”
The kitchen falls silent for a moment, nobody sure how much Eddie wants to divulge or relive.
He wraps his palms around his steaming mug, and takes a long, slow, deep breath in and out before he starts talking.
“I don’t remember much after that night with the, uh, Demobats. I kinda remember being jostled into a van, or a military-type vehicle maybe? And tubes, bright lights, people shouting…
“The next thing I know, I’m in some kind of lab, a poky room with a tiny cot and metal furniture, and people coming in at all hours to prod at me and stick me with needles. They did all sorts of tests and injected me with shit, and they wouldn’t tell me what any of it was.
“I’m not sure whether it’s a good or a bad thing that I can’t remember a lot of detail. It’s mostly just pain, agony, and being either chained or locked up. And screaming, so much screaming... Whether that was me or the others, I don’t know.”
You interject,
“There- There were others?”
He nods slowly.
“Yeah, definitely more than just me. I have no idea how many, who they were, what happened to them...”
His hands start trembling, and he lets go of the mug that’s started to shake in his grip, quickly putting his hands in his lap.
“I think the injections they were giving me were concoctions made from the… things they found… down there.
“Owens visited me a couple of times. He said he didn’t like what was being done to me but he wasn’t able to change anything. The last time I saw him he told me he was being transferred to a different site and didn’t think he’d be able to visit again, but he wanted me to know there was someone on his side.”
There’s a brief pause before he continues,
“The last, uhh, experiment was the worst-”
Eddie screws up his face and clenches his teeth at the memory, and balls up one fist, bringing it up to his pursed lips. He squeezes his eyes closed, and a tear appears at the corner of one eye.
You don’t know whether it’s the right thing to do, but you grab his other hand under the table, hoping it’ll give him comfort but fully expecting him to flinch away.
He doesn’t, and his hand clamps around yours in a fierce grip, almost crushing it.
Voice trembling and breaking, he continues.
“It was- Jesus H Christ- it was like liquid fucking fire. All I remember was feeling like they’d injected me with molten lava, and then there was so much shouting, and hands holding me down, and then everything went black...”
He pauses, and nobody else speaks.
Steve swallows, the tap drips into the sink and Robin’s rings clink softly against her coffee mug as she turns it anxiously.
“And then… And then the next thing I remember is coming to, and feeling cold, so- so fucking cold. And darkness, absolute darkness. And I was so scared, and I just started scraping and scratching at whatever was over me, and just kept scrabbling and digging until… there wasn’t anything over me anymore.”
You’re all stunned.
Someone says a quiet ‘fuck’, and you think you hear a sob, perhaps from Dustin.
Steve remains silent but runs a hand through his hair, palm coming to rest over his mouth, and Robin mutters a soft,
“Shit, Eddie.”
You all realise that Eddie wasn’t lying on a slab at all for these past two months, but was being experimented on, and it takes a long moment to sink in.
Eventually, Eddie says,
“Fuck. They really buried me, huh?”
To illustrate his point and as an attempt to inject some humour into the moment, he loosely combs his fingers through his fluffy locks and asks, “When I got here, did I have stuff in my hair?”
There are a few chuckles, and someone throws a balled up paper napkin at him.
There’s another short pause where nobody says anything, but then it’s like a dam breaks and everyone starts talking at once. Robin and Steve make comparisons with the Russians, the kids offer D&D analogies and half-baked scientific theories, and people ask Will and Jane what they think.
For the rest of the morning much discussion ensues, as well as the consumption of store-brand cookies and even more coffee, and you all try to fill in the blanks. Whilst some of the kids interject with ideas and suggestions, others sit quietly, mostly listening. You wonder quite how much secondhand trauma this is going to cause all of them.
As a group you eventually surmise that some shadowy branch of the military was battering Eddie and the others with all sorts of tests, and injecting them with unknown substances, goals unknown and refusing to tell anyone what they were.
Owens clearly never agreed with their approach, and it sounds like he tried to distance himself as much as possible.
The military finally took their experiments too far. Thinking they’d killed him, they eventually released Eddie’s body to his only family, Wayne, and allowed him to be buried.
Unbeknownst to them, their final experiment was the most successful, it just took longer to manifest than the others. Weeks, in fact. Just long enough for the scientists (if you could even call them that) to lose any expectation of a recovery, and for Owens and Wayne to organise a funeral.
Eddie had awoken, dazed, trapped and freezing and with no idea where he was, and had somehow managed to smash the lid of his coffin and scramble his way to the surface. On a rainy night, miles from anywhere.
Finally, Mike is the first to ask the question you think most of you have been contemplating.
“Dude, how did you even find us?”
At particularly painful points in his oration, Eddie has looked to you, seemingly finding comfort in your face, and his gaze doesn’t leave yours as he replies,
“Honestly? I don’t really know. I just had this… feeling… that I needed to come in this direction. And the closer I got, the more certain I was that this is where I’d find you.” Hurriedly, he looks around the rest of the group and adds, “Find you all.”
He carefully lays the hand not holding yours flat onto the table, and, eyes fixed on the faded floral tablecloth, he chokes back a sob as he asks a question that he’s clearly been holding back.
“Why didn’t anyone- Why didn’t you come find me?”
Robin grabs his hand across the table, wrapping it in both of hers, holding it tightly. There’s a beat of silence before she speaks.
“W-we didn’t know! They didn’t tell us anything about any lab. We thought you were dead. Eddie, that first night? They told us you’d died!”
Her voice cracks on the last word, and you see tears start to slowly run down her cheeks.
Eddie chokes, and his eyes lift to the ceiling.
Dustin’s the first to move as he scrapes his chair back and sprints around to Eddie, enveloping his shoulders and neck in a clumsy but aggressively enthusiastic hug as he mumbles into his friend’s shoulder,
“But you’re not dead. You’re not. You’re here, with us, now. You’re back, Eddie, you’re back...”
Lucas stands too, ruffling Eddie’s hair and half-hugging the top of his head with one arm, leaning his cheek against Eddie’s curls, and you lean into Eddie, placing your forehead against the side of his bicep.
Steve turns from where he’s been brewing even more coffee, and moves to place his hand on a patch of shoulder not covered by Dustin or Lucas, patting softly. As he turns back to the stove he comments,
“Yeah, man. D’you really think we wouldn’t’ve come got you? Fuck those guys and all their crappy experiments. No one does that to a member of The Party.”
You simultaneously feel Eddie’s grip on your hand tighten, and the rest of his body relax. Many of you are crying, the sleeves of Eddie’s sweater darkening in patches from the wet plops of Dustin’s tears.
Will and Jane are affected too, and you see their faces soften as they clasp each other's hands under the table.
Eddie’s breath deepens as he absorbs the love and affection of his friends. You guess he’s not used to this much positive attention, and has clearly received even less over the last few weeks.
You all sit in silence for a few long moments, allowing all this new information to sink in and emotions to settle.
Eventually the noise of the stove and the clattering of coffee supplies, together with a strong gust of wind and the increased pattering of leaves against the window, brings you all back to the room.
Eddie seems to have processed everything faster than the rest of you, his emotions shifting, and as Steve pours more coffee he becomes agitated, slamming his fists on the table, startling all of you with the ferocity of his movements.
You guess he’s angry not only at the testing he underwent, but that they lied to all of you, and let him feel hopeless, like nobody cared.
The kids move back as he stands and starts pacing, running his hands through his already-frizzy hair and shaking his head.
“FUCK! Those bastards! Not only did they use me as some kind of twisted lab rat, but they didn’t even tell you guys I was alive? And they let me think that none of you cared enough to come find me, visit me, get me out? GODDAMMIT!”
He slams a palm into the doorframe, and you all jump a little.
Turning back to the room, Eddie notices the effect he’s having on everyone, and, rubbing the back of his neck, says,
“I think I’m gonna go take a walk…”
He moves towards the back door, the expanse of the disused field behind the cabin seemingly the ideal place for him to get his head together.
But, spying the large axe leaning against the frame, he has a better idea.
“Hey, uh, do you guys have, like, logs ‘n’ shit that need chopping? I really need to, um, work through some stuff. Besides, it’s probably the least I can do, given how much heat and hot water I’ve already cost you all.”
He gives a sheepish snort and brings his hand to his face again.
It’s you who speaks first.
“Are you sure, Eddie? I mean, it’s been a stressful few days. Are you okay to be doing something so… physical?”
“Yeah, yeah… I’m feeling a little… pent up. Could do with working some of it off, y’know?”
You nod, figuring all of you are going to need different ways to process this whole bizarre and unsettling situation.
Dustin and Mike find some old tan workboots in a closet, presumably left by the previous owner. They don’t fit perfectly, and it looks like something may have nested in one of them at some point, but they’ll do for now. Eddie pulls them on over his loaned sweats and socks, leaving them unlaced.
Robin offers him his leather jacket. She’s obviously had a go at cleaning off as much of the mud as she can, but you can all tell it’s never going to be quite the same. At least it’s dry now, and Eddie takes it gratefully.
He grabs the old axe and the small hatchet that you use to chop kindling, unlocks the back door and steps outside, closing it behind him.
Dustin wants to go out to him, but Robin grabs him and holds him in a tight hug, explaining that he needs some time to process stuff.
The others give him space, some staying at the kitchen table to process their thoughts, others retreating to the living room and diverting their thoughts with the crackling cartoons that break through the terrible TV signal.
You choose to keep an eye on Eddie, staying back a little from the back door so as not to alarm him, but keeping him within your eye line.
You see Eddie pace a little, muttering to himself, then he shakes his head as if to clear it.
He turns to the log pile and hefts the axe a couple of times, getting the feel of it. He lifts a couple of modestly sized logs onto the stump, wielding the axe above his head and splitting them easily. Almost… effortlessly.
He chops a few more, flinging them into a pile with ease, then moves to lift a few larger ones, breezing through them with the same ‘hot knife through butter’ nonchalance.
It’s the most physical activity you’ve ever seen him do, aside from lifting the odd amp or two, which always left him puffed out. But he’s sailing through the woodpile with barely any exertion.
You can see he’s still processing the contents of your morning, as his features screw up occasionally and grumbled words and what are probably profanities spill from his lips.
As he hefts the axe through the tough logs you can see his eyes are getting redder, and his skin appears paler. You can’t see his body, but the tendons on his hands and neck are popping starkly underneath his translucent skin. And, the wind has picked up considerably since he’s been outside, whipping loose leaves and twigs around the cabin just like it did last night.
Eventually, he starts on the biggest, gnarliest logs. The ones you guys would only attempt when you really, really needed the firewood.
You hear grunts, muffled by the back door, as he works the tougher wood.
The axe gets stuck partway through a particularly thick log, and with an animalistic grunt Eddie yanks the blade from it. Easily lifting the log in his arms, he notches his long fingers into the groove and, in a move that startles you, he rips it into two pieces with his bare hands.
By the back door you suppress a gasp, your hand flying across your mouth and your eyes going wide. You’re not sure whether you should go to him, try to comfort him, or leave him to work through this in whatever way he needs to.
You don’t get the chance to decide, as he finally gets to a particularly old and knotty log that none of you have been able to get anywhere close to splitting. As Eddie slams the axe down into it with a ferocity you didn’t think was possible, he gets it far further than any of you have so far, but again, the blade gets stuck.
The wind picks up even more, as Eddie picks up the axe, log attached, and heaves it around his head, sending it spinning across the back field as he lets out a loud, feral and painful-sounding yell.
Breathing deep for a couple of moments, he runs a hand down his face and begins to trudge across the bumpy earth to retrieve it, coping easily with the rough and uneven ground of the ploughed field and his ill-fitting boots. You can see he’s still yelling expletives and occasionally waving his arms and shouting up into the sky.
The distance that he’s managed to throw the axe is substantial enough that he shrinks in your field of vision by the time he reaches it. You can no longer make out his expression, but as he comes to a halt you do see him bend over and place his hands on his knees, watching his back heave as he takes a few more deep, steadying breaths.
He lifts the axe and heaves both it and the attached heavy log easily over his shoulder with one hand. You consider that you’ve never seen him lift anything with such ease, save maybe his leather jacket, flung over his back, dangling it from one finger on a hot day.
As he turns and starts making his way back to the house, you notice that the wind has started to die down and is whipping less of Eddie’s hair around his face, and leaves and twigs begin to fall to the ground.
You hadn’t realised Jane had come to join you at the back door. Despite not directly knowing Eddie before, she says, in her characteristically deadpan voice, “He is… different now. Isn’t he?”
You purse your lips and nod, quick and small, and find it remarkable that this seemingly awkward young woman, who’s endured so much at the hands of so many, has developed such insight and tenderness.
After removing the axe from the gnarly chunk of wood and placing it by the back door, Eddie spends a few minutes arranging the logs he’s split into neat piles beneath the small shelter. The skin around his eyes is less red now, and his general demeanour seems more relaxed, controlled. Perhaps this has helped after all.
He takes a couple of breaths and composes himself before he heads back towards the door, holding the axe in one hand and a stack of logs atop his other arm.
Bashful, and conscious that you’d rather he didn’t know that you’ve been watching him the entire time, you take a few steps backwards and make like you’re just now coming to the door, opening it for him with a broad smile and directing him to the place in the living room where you store the wood for the fire, thanking him for his efforts.
As he places the last of the wood and starts to take off his jacket, you notice that his hands are again torn and bloody, splinters sticking out every which way and an angry-looking blister on one palm.
You assume that he’s reopened his wounds from last night, but the positions and patterns don’t match up. Everything from last night has almost completely healed, and these are all new.
Regardless of the peculiarities, they need attention, so you instruct him,
“Come with me, let’s get you cleaned up.”
You send him to your bedroom as you grab some washcloths, a bowl of warm water and the first aid kit from the bathroom.
You sit him up against your headboard, setting up your supplies on the comforter. Figuring it’s the most practical position for you to be in, you straddle his knees and begin dabbing at his cut and splintered hands with antiseptic. Realising there’s too much debris in the way, and wincing at the sheer size and quantity of them, you grab some tweezers, removing the splinters of various sizes that have embedded into his fingers and palms.
As you swap back to using the wet cloths and begin cleaning the blood from his skin, you’re perhaps less surprised than you should be to find that the new injuries have already stopped bleeding, and some of the smaller ones even appear to be closing up, apparently heading the same way as the cuts on his face and feet from whatever happened last night.
You work quietly for a few moments before your curiosity gets the better of you.
“Eddie?”
“Hmm?”
“What was that? Outside, just now? You seem…”
“Different? Yeah, I know… Don’t ask me how it happened, but I feel different too. Stronger, faster…”
He glances at you through his bangs.
“Less in control…”
His brow is furrowed as he holds your gaze, and you guess he’s waiting for you to back off. You don’t.
“I guess they… changed me.”
You move to touch his chin gently with one hand, wanting to reassure him. You realise that by telling him this you’re going to reveal that you were watching him, but you forge ahead anyway.
“Listen, I’m not gonna pretend that whatever it is that I just saw wasn’t a little… unnerving. But I’ve never felt unsafe around you. Quite the opposite, in fact. And that hasn’t changed. I don’t think it ever will.”
He refuses to meet your gaze, and twists his battered hands together in his lap, seemingly fighting with himself.
“I should go. Leave you guys. You’re not safe with me here.”
A vice grip seizes your chest. All logic leaves you, and the only thing you can think about is never letting him go again.
“Eddie, no!”
“I don’t really know what their plan was, but I’m guessing they were trying to make me into a super soldier, or something. They’re not gonna stop. As soon as they find out what happened at the cemetery, they’re gonna try to find me. And if I could find you, they can find me.”
A ball of anxiety forms in you. You can’t let him go. You just can’t.
“I thought you were dead, we all did. I’ve only just found you again, after I thought I’d lost you forever. Please don’t say you’re going to leave?”
Your voice cracks and you swallow back a sob. You lurch forward and grip both of his hands with all the strength you have left, not caring that you’re getting his blood on you, and might even be hurting him.
If Eddie feels any pain, he doesn't flinch. But the sight of you falling to pieces in front of him, because of him, is apparently something he can’t bear.
“Okay, I won’t. I’ll stay tonight, at least. Then we’ll try to figure something out. Maybe contact Owens, see if he knows anything. Alright?”
He raises his head and looks into your eyes now, as you snuffle a little and manage a small smile. He’s yours for tonight, at least.
No, not exactly yours, you have to remind yourself. He’s safe, with all of you, for tonight, at least.
Something else decides to jostle for prominence in your mind, and you ask him, quietly,
“How did you find us? Really. How did you know where to go?”
Eddie takes a deep breath before shifting slightly, and he returns the grip on your hands.
You think you hear a little trepidation in his voice as he speaks.
“I don’t know if this is going to sound crazy, but… what doesn’t these days, right? It’s like- Even before… everything, it’s like every time I left you I left a part of my soul with you. And… it would stay with you all the time we were apart. And then whenever I was with you I’d find it again. That’s how I found you. It was like I was searching for a piece of myself, and somehow I just knew where to find it.”
He goes quiet, dropping his chin to his chest again.
His words play on a loop in your head. Even before… I left a part of my soul with you… and whenever I was with you I’d find it...
You shift forwards even more, closing the gap between you, and the movement makes you become acutely aware of your proximity. You become conscious of the feel of his firm thighs between yours, how good it feels. How, for the second time in less than twenty four hours, you wish there weren’t these thin pieces of fabric between you.
Something sparks in your chest: Could he feel the same way as you?
Your voice trembles as you practically beg him,
“I don't want you ever to leave, Eddie. I don’t want us to ever be apart, and always be there for each other. I don’t want you to ever be missing a part of your soul again. I want to be with you, always.”
Eddie huffs out a sob of his own, lifting your hands to his and nuzzling his face into your knuckles. He takes one and slowly turns his head until his round nose connects with your curled fingers. And then, ever so slowly, he connects his lips with the soft, sensitive skin on your palm.
Tentatively, he moves a little and purses them against the inside of your wrist, lightly pressing them there, inhaling deeply and his breath shuddering slightly as he inhales your scent.
You notice both of your breathing has quickened. You can feel Eddie’s as it passes over your skin, and you feel your heartbeat in your throat.
Eddie looks over at you. His body may have changed in myriad ways, but his eyes remain the same. They’re still the huge, beautiful, warm pools of cacao that have drawn you in since the moment you met. It’s the tether that makes you realise that no matter how else he might’ve changed, deep down he’s still Eddie. Your Eddie.
You move your other hand, gently taking his wrist, and move his free hand up to your face. You close your eyes as you softly kiss his palm, and then move his hand to cup your cheek.
Gently, almost imperceptibly, Eddie moves his thumb and touches it to the very corner of your mouth. You feel a heat in your belly and you turn your head towards it, skimming it over your lips.
Your eyes flick between his chocolate orbs as Eddie bends his thumb ever so slightly. The pad of it pulls at the plush of your lower lip a tiny amount, but it’s enough to create a gap.
Without thinking you start to open your jaw, and he begins to move forwards. As he pushes into your waiting mouth all you can think about is tasting him, and your tongue starts to move. Just as the tip of it is about to make contact with Eddie’s thumb, there’s a jarring yell.
“Hey, everybody! Grub’s up!”
You pull apart with a start, both inhaling sharply.
It’s Robin, calling from the kitchen. Of course you’re grateful that the mums never allow the kids to arrive empty handed, but a large part of you wishes that you and Eddie could’ve had just a little more time to explore… whatever this is.
You let out nervous chuckles as you smile softly at one another, and hold each other’s gaze for probably little longer than is strictly necessary before you gather up the medical supplies and you both stand.
You can’t help but take Eddie’s hand in yours as you pull him towards the kitchen, encouraging him to follow lest he misses out on the delicacy that is Dustin’s mom’s substantial contribution.
“C’mon, Claudia’s lasagnas are totally legendary. It may sound simple, but combined with Mrs Sinclair’s recipe for garlic bread, I promise you, you’re about to have a near-spiritual culinary experience.”
Still feeling the heat of what just occurred in your room you busy yourself with packing away the first aid kit, and then elect to sit across the table from Eddie. You convince yourself that you’re not avoiding him, simply allowing the kids the chance to get close to him for a little while.
As if reading your mind, Dustin immediately plants himself in the chair next to Eddie, swiftly followed by Mike on his other side. Lucas sits next to Dustin, and Will slides in next to Mike. They chatter excitedly about campaigns and creatures and characters, and to see Eddie flanked by his adoring sheep brings a different kind of warmth to your chest.
The conversation remains light over dinner. Jokes are cracked, teasing occurs, and you’re pleased everyone’s getting a break from the tension and horrors.
The culinary delights are as good as you’d promised, and Eddie hums and moans at the delicious bounty before him. He remains pale, but he’s definitely regained some strength, vigour.
He glances over at you after taking an especially large mouthful of the meaty dish, and after you stop giggling at his uncouth antics he grins at you, tomato sauce staining his lips and the sides of his mouth, confirming,
“You’re right, this is goddamn heavenly!”
At another point he takes a particularly large bite of some soaked bread, and herb-flecked garlic butter oozes all over his thumb. Your eyes are drawn to it as he brings it to his mouth and presses it between his plump lips, and your eyes connect across the table as he sucks it off, twisting the digit and temporarily giving himself the most salacious pout. He spots you looking, and leaves his thumb in his mouth for what you consider is altogether too long before pulling it out with a pop. You gulp audibly and shift in your seat, grateful for the general clamour disguising your arousal.
You haven’t discussed as a group whether or where Eddie’s going to stay, though it seems to be unspoken between all of you that of course he’s going to remain here until you can all figure out what to do next. You decide not to raise the earlier conversation you had about him possibly leaving.
Dustin’s the first to broach the subject, asking,
“So, where’re you sleeping tonight, Eddie? You wanna come bunk with us in the warmest room in the house?”
He wiggles his eyebrows, attempting to extol the virtues of the open fire. His excitement is palpable, and you envy the optimism of youth that can make even the least appealing flat surfaces sound like an enticing bedspace.
You interject on Eddie’s behalf, suggesting,
“Hey guys, I know it would be the coolest sleepover ever, but I think Eddie might’ve earned the luxury of an actual bedroom after what he’s been through recently, don’t you think?”
Dustin looks crestfallen, but recovers quickly, agreeing with an only slightly pouty,
“I suppoooooose…”
Without looking at the others, you turn to Eddie and proffer,
“You’ll stay in my room, right?”
Eddie nods, his curls bouncing, as he agrees, perhaps a little too quickly,
“Of course, yep, that sounds… entirely fine.”
You miss how Robin and Steve glance at each other, Steve raising an eyebrow as Robin smirks at him.
There’s a quick clean up as dishes are done and pans are left to soak. Craving normalcy, you pile into the small living room and manage to make it through about two thirds of another of Keith’s loaned films before blinks get longer, eyes start to close and heads start to loll.
Robin chivvies the teens to get their sleeping bags set up, and there’s the typical grousing and bickering as everyone tries to use the bathroom at the same time. You think at one point three of the boys are trying to use the sink simultaneously, jostling each other and spitting far too enthusiastically in an effort to spray their compatriots. It’s a small nugget of frivolity that makes you consider the possibility that you might just all be okay.
Steve moves the small electric heater from his room back to yours, and you retrieve Eddie’s clothes from the drier. He slips into his Hellfire shirt and clean boxers as you change into your Garfield nightshirt, and then starts to grab blankets from beside you.
Confused, you question,
“What’re you doing?”
“Oh, uh… I just thought I’d sleep on the floor, y’know, give you the bed.”
You’re aghast.
“Don't be silly, Eddie. There’s plenty of room. Sleep up here, please? I mean, it’s not like we never have before. All those nights in the trailer when I got too baked to make it home, or you got too baked to drive me, or both…”
You both chuckle at the fond memory. You wonder whether you’ll ever let on that sometimes you were faking it, or deliberately took too many drags from the last blunt, just so you could spend the night with him, in his bed.
He throws the blankets back over and, smiling, climbs in beside you.
Turning off your bedside light, the room becomes bathed in the low, pale blue glow of the moonlight.
You both lie on your backs, staring at the ceiling. Somehow it’s easier to talk like this.
Thumbing the skull ring on your hand, you want to talk about the… other thing that happened, but have no idea how to bring it up.
As you’re ruminating, Eddie beats you to it.
“I hope it wasn’t weird? Earlier, I mean. It was…”
Your thighs clench a minuscule amount as you recall the feel of him between them, and the lightest brush of your lips on various parts of each other, and you finish his sentence for him.
“Nice. It was nice.”
Shit. It was so much more than nice, you think to yourself.
“I don’t want you to think I’m taking advantage of you, or anything. I guess I’m just a little touch-starved, y’know…?”
“I don’t. Honestly, I’m just glad to be close to you again. And if I made you feel uncomfortable then I’m really sorry…”
You can tell by the minor shifts in the covers and from his general demeanour that Eddie’s fidgeting with his hands.
“You didn’t, I promise.”
There’s another pause, and Eddie huffs out another small breath before he continues,
“Listen, I know the past twenty-four hours has basically been weirdness personified, and I don’t want to make it even weirder, but…can I… maybe… hold you?”
“I think weird is probably the understatement of the century, but it’s okay. And… I think I’d like that.”
You shift closer to one another under the covers, and you turn onto your side as Eddie moves himself to spoon behind you in an echo of your position last night.
He tentatively drapes his arm over you. He feels warmer than when you last did this, and more relaxed, and you press slightly backwards towards him as much as you dare, letting out a heavy, relaxed sigh.
You take Eddie’s hand in yours, threading your fingers with his, running yours over and between his digits and turning his forelimb this way and that. He hums into your hair and lets you move his arm however you like.
But you stop when you glance down in the dim light and spot a small tattoo on the inside of his wrist that you’ve not seen before. It’s definitely new. You know this because you’ve spent hours tracing over every inch of his inked skin, fantasising about following the images with more than just your eyes, imagining using your fingers, your hands, your lips, your tongue…
But this one’s not like any of his others. This one is small and simple, and looks like the outlines of two soft-cornered rectangles with a blocky W between them. It takes you a moment to process what you’re looking at, realising it looks a lot like one you’ve seen before. She’s had it covered with a delicate floral design (having connections in government really can get you anything, including underage ink), but you remember what it looked like.
Jane’s was a rectangle stacked on top of two horizontal lines, but when you looked at it from a different angle it became numbers: 011.
Looking at Eddie’s, you move the position of his arm. It turns the image a little, suddenly giving it more meaning, as you see it depicts a different number: 030.
Quietly, you croak,
“Eddie, what’s thi-?”
You don’t have a chance to process what any of it could mean as Eddie suddenly tenses, his head lifted from the pillows and his face flicking towards the window and back to you.
His brow furrows as he murmurs,
“Do you hear that?”
You strain your ears and hear nothing at first. But then, gradually, and from far away, you hear the disturbingly familiar sounds of flapping, shuffling and screeching.
Goosebumps appear on your arms and the back of your neck as you abruptly recall the only things you know of that make sounds like these:

Robin's got you on her lap, her men discussing the latest news regarding the mafia family's inner society, and how vigilantes around the area are on patrol against them.
"Who led this hooligan into the bar?" She snarled, her voice the epitome of anger and distress as she watched the CCTV footage of last night's assault in the jazz bar they had meticulously hid in one of their headquarters. Some man in a mask holding her men at gunpoint. She couldn't hear what the man had said due to the Cctv's vantage point. "And why won't any of you answer me?!"
You would've found a good answer if her fingers didn't curl inside you, so slow and agonising as she took notice of how your face twisted in pleasure. She pumps it in and out in slow and subtle strokes, pinching your clit everytime she spoke. That low, gravelly voice that held power over the men that sat across her in her dimly lit office. To be in the arms of a mafia family's boss is one thing, but to be her own little playtoy is another.
She's got a gun on her free hand, pointing to the consigliere of the group. "You know, this gun's fairly new...got it from my last trip to Germany, poor thing hasn't seen much action..." She taunted, flaunting the pistol as she watched his face twist in horror. "...maybe you'd give it quite a show, or...you remember who you work for and what you're gonna have to do to keep living."
The meeting goes on like this, taunts and shooting blanks to the walls to prove a point, the pistol is sharp, quick enough for Robin's liking. She doesn't miss how you bite your lip when she swings the gun around her finger, doesn't miss how you clench tighter when she pulls the trigger.
As her men leave, she lifts you off her lap.
"Bend over darling.." she whispered against your ear, pushing documents and files and books all to the side. You can hear the sounds of a strap, a thin piece of fabric over her slacks - her strap on. As you bend and your skirt stripped off you, you feel her thrust in. Your chest pressed against the cool surface of her desk as she started to pound a little faster. Whines and moans slip from your mouth so effortlessly.
"So fucking needy...so loud for mommy and I've barely done anything...fucking slut.." she grunted, pushing your head against the table, moans muffled by the rough, slightly calloused hands that forced you to feel mahogany wood press your cheeks.
But it's not enough.
And Robin knows it.
As Robin thrusts into you, she grabs for her telephone. You couldn't hear much of what she muttered, she was always so quiet when she murmured. A barely audible 'Nancy Wheeler' slipping from her lips.
Nancy Wheeler, Robin's fiancé for a year now. You were the side piece of the infamous couple. The playtoy for the couple's needs whenever the other was away.
You never had them at the same time.
Until now.
"Feels good, doesn't it, sweet girl?"
The voice who cooed so wasn't Robin, too busy rutting into you and keeping your head pushed against the desk to be sweet to you. A cold, smooth finger reaches to fist your hair and lift your head up. Nancy Wheeler...and a shit-eating grin on her face.
"Answer me, you like what she's doing to you, sweetheart? Like how she's fucking you senseless?" The woman teased. A faint whimper leaving your lips. The vulgarity of her words makes you clench tighter against Robin. "I'm gonna need more than mewls, honey."
"Y-yes.." you stammered, drool slipping from your lips. Nancy greets this with a chuckle, her soft lips meeting yours with a gentle kiss. Such a juxtaposition from Robin, grunts and quick thrusts from behind you.
Nancy stands up, the girl grabbing her own strap, tying it around her pants.
"You're too rough on her, my love.." she cooed, a soft hand on Robin's cheek.
"Honey, I paid to be rough on her."

They're kissing.
Kissing as if they haven't been taking turns on you for hours now, as if they haven't put you in so many different positions. Their fingers and the plastic cock dangling in between their thighs soaked from your wetness. And they're kissing on top of you, your mouth full and occupied with Nancy, and your soaking entrance occupied with Robin.
Your ministries such as your clothes had all been strewn off your body and onto the floor, their saliva falling in between the hills of your breasts. Robin leans down to give it a lick. "Can't say anything, can you, princess?"
She smirked as you whined, pulling out as she grabbed a hold of your knees, pushing it up to your chest and readies herself to go back in when two of her men barged in - the underboss and the consigliere.It didn't matter how important they were to the system, they broke one of Robin's well-established rules : you don't just barge into her office.
She doesn't fail to laugh when you clench and roll your hips against her as both women shoot the men. Nancy's bullet landed on the arm, Robin shooting a headshot.
"What is it this time, darling?" Nancy replied softly, her plastic dildo bulging in the skin of your throat. "You like the violence, don't you?" An eager nod comes off as your reply, moaning and writhing underneath the two girls.
"Fucking whore.." Robin grunted, grabbing for her pistol. She removes the ammo, puts the safety on as well knowing you've been nothing but good, no need for threatening her sweet girl's life. The cold metallic surface of the muzzle pressed against the warmth of your throat, still in firm as both girls continued to thrust into you.
"I'm not letting this go until we're done with you."

The walk felt long and arduous, especially with the sun beating down on you as hard as it did. How odd it was that you were just under the cover of darkness back home— it had been cold and stormy, but here the sun was high up in the sky, with clouds only partly covering the land. Below you, the grassy hill felt as if it went on forever, and for a beat, you thought it did— a sick trick already at the start, but one thing remained a constant in your mind.
        Find Dustin and get out of there.
        You thought those words over and over like a mantra, or hell, even a prayer, pushing yourself forward despite the burning sun. Despite the clock that timed you from the top of that damn hill. Despite the handsome, curly-haired man who brought you here in the first place.
        Cursing him, you shook your head and continued your trek, finally reaching the bottom of the hill and landing on a dirt road. The surrounding fields were barren, and crops rotted in tipped-over barrels. The area was devoid of life, and as the smell of charcoal invaded your nostrils, you scrunched your nose in disgust, picking up the pace. With sunken thatch roofs, the houses were charred, and when you came closer, you noticed arrows stuck in the rotting wood. You noticed the claw marks that scarred the doors and the rust-colored stains that marred the sides of the cottages. There had been some sort of struggle; a carnage that had been long forgotten, but there were no bodies in sight— as if they had just up and vanished.
       Just what happened here?
        As you walked, the ash-stricken houses began to converge the closer you walked towards the forest, as if a village was waiting deep inside. A growing uneasiness followed you until you finally stopped in front of a signpost, realizing that the dirt road forked into two paths— one that went into the forest, and another that continued towards abandoned farmland. Both signs were illegible, written in a language that resembled the scribbles of a two year-old. But even if you could translate them, the wooden signs were so damaged, rotting and falling apart, that you struggled to decide which way to go.
        Without warning, a gust of wind swept through you, and you shivered, rubbing your arms to combat the sudden chill. Now you really wished you had a jacket, rather than just a tank top. However, you noticed that the wind whisked a trail of leaves into the woods.
        If that wasn't a sign, then you didn't know what was.
        Taking a deep breath, you followed them down the path.
        Time seemed to stand still as you walked through the damp forest, but then again, time felt a lot different here. The trees provided a much-needed cover from the burning sun, casting gloomy shadows. It seemed to be a logging camp, with a scattering of wooden cabins that looked in better shape then the ones outside, but were still unsettling to walk past. You found more arrows, with rusty axes embedded in the trunks of trees, but nature seemed to overtake them. Grass and daisies grew in the gaps between abandoned machinery, covering the pieces in moss. More houses seemed to go deeper into the forest, all seemingly abandoned and overgrown.
        As you walked, the humidity caused your hair to frizz up and covered your entire body in an uncomfortable layer of sweat. You let out a huff and wiped the condensation from your brow, your legs aching.
        How long had you been walking for? Was this all for nothing? Had you gone the wrong way? Was there no labyrinth at all? Questions swirled around your mind as your chest swelled, your breath shortening. The heat was not helping— it felt suffocating, as if the entire forest was a damp sauna. What was it with this sudden change in weather?
       With a ragged breath, you finally stopped walking, and your vision blurred with tears. Anxiety gnawed at your very core, your body tensing and trembling as you buried your face in your hands, taking deep breaths. Slowly, you tried to steady yourself, your head aching and pulse pounding. As the pain in your chest subsided, you lowered your palms from your eyes, slowly opening them.
        In front of you wasn't the dirt path, but a large gate— one that hadn’t been there before. It was tall and deeply ornate, with a stone arch and iron bars that were curled into what looked like bats. Moss and vines twisted along the cobblestone pillars on either side, but what caught your eye was the wide, seemingly endless wall that encompassed the labyrinth. You slowly walked up to it, grabbing onto the iron bars and pulling— but the gate was locked.
        "Come on, I've come this far…” you sighed.
        "Halt! Who goes there?”
        Jumping in surprise, you spun and frantically looked for the source of the voice, bringing your arms up in a defensive position— albeit a rather weak one.
        "Who’s there?!” you called out.
        The disembodied voice seemed to chuckle at your attempt at intimidation.
        "I should be asking you that! What brings a human to my neck of the woods?”
        The voice sounded feminine and held a jolly lilt of humor, one that eased your stance slightly. Looking around, you kept your fists up, stepping forward. Maybe those karate classes from elementary school would kick in if something did happen.
        Then as swift as the wind, someone from the top of the gate dropped behind you.
       "Boo!”
        Yelping, you tripped and landed on your bottom, stirring up dust that caused you to cough.
        Curse your lack of instincts and balance. Those classes did nothing to prepare you.
        When the dust settled, you found a pair of striking blue-green eyes staring you down. You let out a gasp, quickly scooting backwards in a feeble attempt to crabwalk away from her. She was sun-kissed, as if she spent her life outside, with freckles dotted across her nose— or was it dirt? You couldn't tell, but she was studying you like a specimen, her eyebrows married in concentration at the possibility of you being a threat. But then she relaxed and flashed a sharp-toothed smile, her teeth both blinding and scary.
        "So it is you! The girl Eddie’s always on about!”
        "Wh-What?”
        "Oh, sorry for startling you— here, lemme help you up.”
        She grabbed your forearm, hoisting you up as if you weighed nothing, and you winced as her sharp claws lightly grazed your skin. Her dirty-blonde hair was chopped just above her shoulders, her eyes crinkling under her wide grin. How could she smile even more?
        "Who are you?”
        "Oh right, I’m Robin! I watch over this gaudy-looking gate!”
        Robin stepped back from you, and it was then that you fully took her in. She wore a similar outfit to Eddie's, dressed in a poet shirt and tight trousers, with gloves fit for an archer. Slung over her back was a longbow and a quiver of arrows, and a dagger was sheathed to her hip. Gold piercings adorned her ears, which were long and pointed— something you had only ever read about in fantasy novels.
        "You’re an elf…?”
        "Oh hells no! A goblin, actually! Never seen a goblin before? We're nothing like those posh pricks!"
        "No, I've never seen a real goblin before..."
        "And it's been a while since I've seen a human! They're quite rare around here.”
        Shaking your head, you stared at her in awe. Goblins always were depicted as small, evil green things, but Robin— she looked human. It made you wonder what elves really looked like.
        "I know, I am quite stunning, but I'm afraid I'm taken!"
        You realized you were staring for longer than was socially acceptable, and your face turned bright red as you broke your stare.
        "You're really the girl he's always talking about, huh? I can see why he likes you.” The relaxed tone disappeared from her voice, her previous expression returning as she studied you. The goblin woman then began to circle you like a vulture, sizing you up and scanning you from head to toe.
        "What? Why are you doing that? Robin, right? Please, can you let me inside?”
        "Woah, one question at a time. Start with the most important one.”
        "Can you please let me inside?”
        "I can, but that’s not the right question.”
        "What? What do you mean not the right question?”
        "You ask a lot of questions, huh?”
        Robin finally stopped in front of you and stared, a smile slowly appearing on her face. She was quiet, letting you stew in your own mind.
        What was she talking about? You said please, was that not enough?
        You turned your back to her, opening your arms and lifting them to the sky.
        "Open Sesame? Abracadabra?”
        Robin burst into a fit of laughter, her own face turning red as she clutched her abdomen, her shoulders shaking. You dropped your arms in embarrassment, cheeks flushing as you wracked your brain for what could have been the answer— why wouldn't she open the gate?
        Oh wait.
        "...Will you please open the gate?”
        "Now that’s more like it!”
        Robin turned and pushed vines aside to reveal a wooden lever, pulling it down. The mechanisms began to churn, the cranking of the gears becoming louder as you walked closer. Anxiety quickly settled into a permanent place in your stomach.
        "How bad is it?”
        "The truth? Terrifying. Are you really going in there?” Robin watched you with curious, worried eyes.
        "I have to…for my brother.”
        "You mean the brother you wished away? How admirable. But here’s your official warning: a mere human like you may not make it out alive. The labyrinth is no game to take lightly— you might forget which way is which, fall into a pit of spikes, or encounter a monster thirsty for blood— you'll never know what you might find.”
        Staring wide-eyed at the open gate, you turned to her.
        "There are monsters in here? You're not messing with me?“
        "Afraid not, but here— you might need this.”
        Robin unclipped her dagger, quick to wrap the belt around your waist.
        "Promise we’ll be friends if you make it out alive?”
        "When I make it out…”
        "That's the spirit! Now go get 'em! Don’t die!" Robin’s smile was blinding as she pushed you towards the entrance. "Good luck, and don’t take anything at face value!”
        You swallowed the lump in your throat as you stared at the stone walls, which seemed to beckon you inside. Taking a breath, you crossed under the gate, which quickly fell shut behind you with a loud bang. You jumped, turning to see the goblin woman waving from the other side.
        Letting out a surprised huff, you faced ahead once more.
        "Alright, I gotta find Dustin," you thought. "I've only got thirteen hours— how am I even going to track that? Robin mentioned monsters...at least she gave me this…"
        Pulling the dagger from its place on your belt, you examined it. It was a simple thing wrapped in leather, with a slightly curved blade. Embedded in the hilt was a red stone, possibly a ruby. You held it out and slashed at the air, imagining your target as someone with curly hair and brown doe eyes. Once satisfied with yourself, you sheathed it away and continued your journey.
        You walked slowly, taking in your surroundings and keeping a watchful eye out for any traps. Brown roots covered the stone walls and spilled onto the path in thick chunks. You carefully maneuvered around them, but the passage seemed to go on forever, and you slowly went from a walk to a jog, and from a jog to a sprint, running down the path with no end in sight.
        Your careless running finally caught up to you when you tripped over a thick, gnarled root, toppling over and tumbling to the ground. Knees digging into dirt, you huffed as you looked up, and from the corner of your eye, you saw it.
        The labyrinth was moving.
        By the looks of it, it changed ever-so slightly— nothing the careless eye could catch so quickly. The walls shifted in what looked to be a wave of magic, pulsating as if they were alive, and the root you had just tripped over slowly disappeared, rescinding into the stone crevices behind you. Was the labyrinth alive after all? Or was this Eddie’s doing?
        You punched the ground in frustration as the pain in your knees became a dull ache. Groaning, you sat up against the wall, your face red not just from exhaustion, but the anger that bubbled to the surface.
        "You can’t be serious!" you screamed at the bright blue sky, hoping someone— anyone— would listen. "What the actual fuck am I supposed to do? Hey, Eddie! Yeah, I have a feeling you can hear me, you prick! What the fuck!? You didn't say it fucking moves! Or that there were monsters in here!”
        You were met with dead silence as you leaned your head against the stone wall, catching your breath and closing your eyes.
        "Alright, this is fine, just breathe. This is like one of those DND campaigns. Yeah, okay, maybe none of this is even real. Did I finally lose it? What if Dustin is dead? Oh god, I wouldn’t be able to live with myself— what if I'm dead too?! What if mom finds me on the side of the road?!” Your ramblings carried through the silence of the labyrinth, hands trembling as you raked your fingers through your hair in anxious panic.
        Tears threatened to escape your eyes, and you tried to will them away, but had to shove your palms against your eyes to force them to hide. You wouldn’t cry, not over this, not over hypothetical scenarios. Dustin was alive— he had to be. You remembered his bubbly laugh. You remembered how curious he always was, often getting into trouble. You remembered how he tucked his head of curls under your chin when you watched movies together. Then you thought about how scared he must be without you there, in the dark and surrounded by terrifying monsters who could eat him if they wanted to. You tucked your knees close to your chest, hiccups erupting from your body as the tears you tried so hard to fight back flowed from your eyes.
        "Are you alright, dear?”
        You jumped at the sudden voice. It was a gentle thing, feminine and holding a motherly lilt that pulled you out of your internal dread. You searched for the source of it, eyes teary.
        "Would you like a spot of tea? I believe I have some leaves perfect for brewing.”
        The source of the voice finally revealed itself to you, hanging from a vine on the wall. Rubbing the tear stains from your cheeks, you leaned towards the creature. A spotted mushroom sat on its head, and delicate, glistening fairy wings sprouted from its back. You shook your head at the question.
        “What troubles you, my dear?”
        The fairy was small but seemed wise with age, with pointed ears that stuck out from her dark brown curls. Her skin was golden, as if the sun blessed her, and she wore a dress made of leaves. Her voice was warm and inviting, but her golden eyes looked you over with sorrow and worry— a mother's gaze, no doubt.
        "It’s this maze! It moves without warning! How am I supposed to get through it in thirteen hours?! Dustin is probably scared to death and it's all my fault!”
        "Oh dear, our king hasn’t properly warned you of the labyrinth, has he? Well, I can tell you with certainty that the brother you shed tears for is safely tucked away in his manor. Our king is kind and always watches over us, including little ol’ me. But in this place, things are not what you expect— for example, take that wall in front of you. It is no ordinary wall.”
        The fairy's wings gently fluttered as she lifted herself towards the wall. Placing a small hand against it, she seemed to keep floating forward.
        Slowly calming your tears, you picked yourself off the ground and approached the wall. Hand outstretched, you expected yourself to stop short, only you stumbled forward.
        "So it’s an illusion...” You walked further and were finally able to place your hand against the cobble, where you saw paths on either side. The fairy slowly settled onto your shoulder, her wings limply hanging downward.
        "I’m sorry, dear— my wings don’t quite flutter how they used to. Can you set me down near that mushroom there? Thank you.”
        "No, I should be thanking you. I needed your help.” You crouched and held your palm towards your shoulder. The fairy hopped onto it, and you set her on the dirt.
        "Oh dearie, it was nothing. Now go, he’s waiting for you!”
        "Thank you again.”
        The fairy gave you a warm smile before waving you away, her hands sparkling as you straightened up. There were two paths to choose from, both looking nearly identical. You looked to the right first, which was lined with spotted mushrooms, and then to the left, where flowers grew from stone walls. Your feet moved towards the left path, distracted by the flowers, but you stopped.
        "Maybe the flowers are a trap. Their smell is so overwhelmingly sweet, it's giving me a headache— I can't go that way.”  You shook your head and swiftly turned to the right, following the mushrooms down the path.
        You walked and walked for what felt like hours, the pulsating walls shifting from gray cobblestone to green hedges, the changes taking place in your peripheral vision. When you looked over your shoulder, you noticed that shrubbery covered the opening you came through. You pulled the dagger from its sheath and carved an arrow into the ground, marking your path. Keeping the knife out, you trekked through the hedge maze, and when you reached a dead end, you sighed and turned back— only for the arrow mark to be missing.
        "What the hell? This is such a sick joke— I swear it was right here! Ugh!” You stomped, and the stone tile beneath your foot clicked. Your breath stalled short as your eyes darted around, but you saw nothing. You heard the sudden rustle of leaves, and turned to find that the dead end had opened into an archway. It could have been some sort of trap, but you were desperate, and hurried through the opening.
        The passage slowly opened to a courtyard surrounded by round hedge walls, and you froze as fear took hold of you. Between two pillars, you found a mysterious creature sleeping. It was blocking something— a door.
        "This has to be the way. Of course it wouldn’t be so easy. I need to find a way around this thing— whatever it is."
        You surveyed the creature from a distance, still frozen in fear and awe. Curled like a sleeping housecat, it resembled a golden lion with feathered wings. How were you going to get around it? Your sweaty fingers gripped the hilt of the dagger Robin had given you. It wasn’t much, but you took comfort in having something to defend yourself with. You inched forward, trying to find a way around the beast.
        The animal stirred and you froze immediately, sweat beading on your temple as you defensively held the knife in front of you. The creature then growled and twisted, stretching out in its sleep. A crystal ball rested under its paw, suddenly lighting up, and an all-too-familiar voice shouted through it.
        "Chrissy, wake up!”
        The creature hummed and swiped at the ball, which rolled its way towards you. Maybe this was your chance for contact— to see if your brother was alright.
        You quickly sheathed the dagger and dropped down to hoist the crystal ball into your hands, backing away from the creature. Larger than the one previously offered to you, the orb reflected a man with shaggy curls. You glared at his image, but Eddie's attention was elsewhere as he shouted at someone, his voice muffled by all the noise around him. In the background, you heard the sounds of goblins yelling and knocking each other over as something metal loudly clattered to the floor.
        "Eddie, the kid is causing too much trouble! He nearly decapitated little Mike with a sword just now! You watch him, I need a break!”
        "Stevie you can't leave now! He likes you!"
        "Not my problem! And stop calling me that!
        The unknown man huffed in annoyance before walking off and Eddie rolled his eyes before he let out a heavy sigh.
        "Some one else was watching over Dustin? And he was around a sword?!"
        Eddie's pointed ears twitched at a high-pitched scream and he groaned, before turning his head to face you.
        "How many times do I—? Oh hello, Miss Henderson.” His eyes widened, not expecting to see you on the other end of the crystal.
        "Where is he?” Your voice was low and angry as you quickly hid behind a pillar, but he seemed distracted.
        "Where’s who? Hey!" The ball jostled as it was ripped from his hands. "Get back here!” He started chasing after the thief, and when he seemed close, you heard childish laughter.
        "Dustin, is that you!?” Your eyes brimmed with tears as you clutched the ball close, a relieved sigh escaping— none of your fears had come true.
        The laughter became louder as your brother’s gummy grin took center stage, his blue eyes crinkled with glee as he ran, the crystal shaking in his hands.
        "Dustin! Dustin! Are you okay?!” Your voice shook as you tried to get his attention, lowering it as the sleeping creature stirred. He laughed and joyously called your name.
        "I okay, no worry!”
        "Are you sure? You're not hurt? Where are you?” Your questions came out quick, but he giggled, his curls bouncing as he ran.
        "I at Eddie's house! I like it here and I like Eddie! He play with me and I still eat my veggies, like you say! But Eddie don’t eat.”
        "I’m coming to get you, okay? I'll be there soon. Then we’re gonna go home and eat all the ice cream you want. If the goblins do anything bad, then you hit them real hard and run away.”
        "Yay!" The boy cheered, but his running slowed, his eyes droopy and tired. "Pinky promise...?”
        "Pinky promise…I…I love you.”
        "Love you…” he yawned.
        Suddenly he was scooped up, laughing sleepily— something you didn’t think you would miss so much.
        "I’ll take that back now, you little rascal— time for bed.”
        The image shook once again as Eddie plucked the crystal ball from Dustin's grip, holding it out to show the two of them. Dustin dug his face into his shoulder and clung to his neck, legs wrapped around his torso. The man’s eyes were gentle as he shifted his attention from the boy to you, and with a soft voice, he stared you down.
        "You have eleven hours— I'll see you soon.”
        Red smoke filled the crystal, and when it cleared, he was gone.
        "What was all that about? No, forget him, Dustin is okay. He's been eating and now he's going to sleep. See me soon? When I see Eddie, I’m gonna—"
        You set the large crystal ball on the ground and turned to the now very-much-awake creature— one that was half-human, dressed in a white and gold toga. Her ocean blue eyes were piercing, her golden hair perfectly framing her soft face.
        "It seems you caught me napping— you must be the famous Henderson girl I hear so much about.” The creature's voice was soft and tired, her eyes staring you down as you stood away from her.
        How did all of these creatures know you?
        You kept still, your heart furiously beating in your ears. You were sure she could hear it too.
        "That knife at your hip— I hope you weren't planning on using it on me. Otherwise, you might have been my lunch.” she grinned nonchalantly.
        You quickly shook your head— a lie.
        "Come closer, don't be shy. I’m Chrissy and I promise I won’t eat you— there are things here that are far worse than me. Now for your test!”
        You slowly began to approach her, noticing three large locks on the door behind her.
        "Test? What kind of test?”
        "It’s really easy, just answer some riddles and unlock the door behind me to continue towards the city. Easy-peasy!”
        "Wait, riddles? You're a sphinx?” You wracked your head for the story, remembering the creature from a book of Greek mythology you read for history class.
        "Well no, I’m a goblin. We come in all shapes and sizes." Chrissy was a large creature, but she began to shrink, her lion legs shifting into human ones. Her toga reached her ankles, and her bare feet seemed to have been dipped in gold. Her blonde hair fell just past her shoulders as she yawned, arms stretching out above her head.
        You watched in awe and she smiled brightly, giving you jazz hands. The golden bangles around her wrists clanked when she did so.
        "Alright then, I have three riddles for you. If you can’t solve them, then unfortunately, you'll be...misplaced.”
        "Wait, misplaced? Where to?”
        "Typically you’d be placed anywhere in the labyrinth, but in this case, I was told to send you back to the beginning.”
        Your eyes widened and she laughed, her jewelry jingling as she approached you.
        "So, are you ready or not? You don’t have that much time…”
        Taking a deep breath, you nodded. Hopefully all those Dungeons and Dragons sessions would pay off.
        "I’m ready…I think.”
        She clasped her hands together in prayer and her blue eyes gently closed. When she opened them a few seconds later, they glowed a bright gold. You flinched at the unexpected change, but tried to relax. This was your first true test.
        "Your first riddle is this: if given one, you’ll have many or none at all.” Her voice echoed throughout the landing, shaking the hedge walls.
        You steadied yourself and delved deep into your mind, stewing in the question. You had to think carefully; if you gave the wrong answer, you would have to start all over again. And if you did, there most likely wouldn't be a kind fairy creature to help you. What would you even choose to say? There were so many choices.
        Wait.
        Taking a deep breath, you shakily gave your first answer.
        "A choice…?”
        Chrissy smiled, and a lock from behind her fell to the floor.
        "That is correct— your destiny is shaped by the choices you make on your journey through life. Many choices can alter your path, whether they lead you to ruin, or lead you to glory. Choices give the power to challenge your fate. Now your second riddle is this: some are cherished, some are hated, and even if lost, they remain with you.”
        You stared at her, taking in her words, imprinting them into your mind. It could be people— maybe it was. But how are lost people still with you? In your heart?
        Suddenly you thought of your father, the day he left Hawkins ingrained into your memory. Your mother was pregnant with Dustin at the time— you remembered her crying after work, still in her scrubs. You remembered the day she came home with your brother in a carrier and how she cried for weeks after. You remembered seeing her less often. You remembered waking up to feed Dustin when your mother worked night shifts. You remembered not having a Sweet 16th after he was born. You remembered helping to pay for his racecar bed. You remembered getting him to say your name for the first time. It was his first word. You remembered raising him, and you remembered loving him so much. But you remembered the sleepless nights before tests. You remembered missing school to watch over him when he was sick. You remembered crying when he wouldn’t stop. You remembered having to swallow back the tears when your mother was there. The memories were a cocktail of pain, loss, and happiness.
        You remembered…
        "Is the answer memories?”
        Another of the locks fell to the ground, causing it to shake.
        "Correct— memories are powerful. They may hold a person's love or hate, their joy and their grief, and some may choose to block them out. The memories you hold dear will always be imprinted into your heart, even as years pass. Our memories shape us, and you are now stronger because of them. Keep those memories close, for even if they hurt, they are a part of who you are. Now, your last riddle is this: they arrive every night, whether invited or not. They can be seen, but not heard or touched. If one falls, they all keep moving.”
        You absorbed her words into your mind— you needed to get this right, or you would be doomed to reset this death trap. Tapping your foot, you tried to wrap your head around the riddle. You looked up at the sky above you, falling into a distant memory.
        "Whas in da sky?”
        "Those are stars, Dustin. You can only see them clearly out here.”
        "Why?”
        "Because it's dark here.”
        "The dark is scawy...”
        "It can be, but the stars will always keep you safe.”
        "How?”
        "Well, you see that up there? That’s the North Star— when it comes out, you make a wish on it. And guess what? If you follow it, it can take you home.”
        You sat on the driveway with Dustin in your lap, staring up into the starry sky. There had been a blackout, and your mother was still working at the hospital. The sudden darkness had scared the boy, and you tried to calm his cries by bringing him outside.
        "It can?”
        "Yeah, and do you wanna know the coolest thing?”
        "Wha?”
        "Sometimes stars fall from the sky. They say bye-bye to their mommies and they go on their own adventure. They fly by and spread their magic dust to make you happy.”
        "Really? They not scawed?”
        "Maybe, but it’s okay to be scared. Their mommies are always watching.”
        "And sisters?”
        "Yeah buddy, their sisters watch them too.”
        Dustin leaned against you, staring up at the sky with awe in his bright blue eyes. The stars, despite the blackout, kept on moving.
        "Is Mommy still working?”
        "Yeah, the hospital needs a lot of help, so she’s staying late.”
        "I sleep with you?”
        He looked up at you with pleading puppy-dog eyes, and how could you say no to that? You sighed and gently nodded.
        "Yeah, you can sleep in my room 'til Mom gets back.”
        He cheered and leaned against you, his eyes starting to close, and for a second, you thought a comet shot through the sky.
        You wished things were different.
        "Stars— the answer is stars.” Your voice came out shaky and unsure, and you held your breath until finally, after what felt like years, the final lock clicked open and fell to the ground with a heavy thud.
        "Correct— for centuries, the stars have guided the lost, and today, their memory guides you forward. Whenever you feel lost in your heart, unsure of how to navigate the darkness within, then look to the night sky. Follow the stars and allow them to guide you, just as they guided others long ago. Just as the stars keep moving, so will you. Congratulations— you have passed the test and may continue on your journey.”
        You held your breath, your eyes wide with shock. Your heart raced as you stood still, as if one wrong move would send you back to the start of the labyrinth. But your anxiety melted into joy when you realized that you had done it— you had passed the first test. You let out a shaky breath, your trembling hands quickly rubbing away the joyous tears that poured down your cheeks. Breaking into a smile, you turned to the orb, pointing at it with a determined fire in your eyes.
        "See that, Eddie?! Fuck you, I did it! Bring it on!”
        Chrissy smiled and tried to hide her laugh. She closed her glowing eyes, and when she blinked them open, she was herself again.
        "Do watch out for traps, won’t you? I would like to see you at the banquet.”
        "Banquet?”
        "Yes, I would like to see you there alive and well. We have a celebration coming up and would love to have you there.”
        You stared at her with confusion etching your features— as if you would voluntarily spend another second in this godforsaken place.
        Chrissy stepped aside as the door swung open, exposing a topiary of a lion on the other side of the passage. You turned to her as she stretched and yawned, her form shifting back to her more animal-like appearance. Swallowing a lump in your throat, you were finally able to voice your concern.
        "Are the next trials harder?”
        "Well, everything has its difficulties and everything has its solutions. You’ll be fine, just keep looking ahead.”
        "Alright, thank you!”
        You took a deep breath, and with a newfound excitement, you passed through the doorway, your eyes trained on the topiary ahead. You looked back at Chrissy, who seemed to settle into sleep, and with a wide smile, you began to run. Your shoes pounded against the flagstone floor as you hurried through the passage.
        But then the flagstone was gone, there was no ground, and your eyes widened as you fell down a gaping abyss. You clawed at the edge of the stone, but it was too late. Your heart raced as you helplessly flailed your arms, the darkness swallowing the scream you let out as you plummeted into the unknown. Was this the your fate all along? Had you made the wrong choice? Gone the wrong way? Were you going to die?
       "I should have looked where I was stepping."
        You fell down, down into the abyss, and the darkness consumed you.

A/N: Ok this is one that I posted on AO3 after the end of the last season. Obviously I had to write something good for Steve because they do my boy so dirty!! HE IS NOT SOMEONES SECOND CHOICE!! Hope you enjoy my loves <3!!
Tumblr media
The past week was a blur. You didn’t expect your first college spring break to end with you racing back to Hawkins to see the aftermath of what Venca…? One…? Henry…caused. You didn’t want to entirely believe that the Upside Down still existed, that the gate was still open after you all fought so hard to close it time and time again. That’s why you chose to leave Hawkins in the first place, moving across the country to get away from the horrors of that small town.
But when Jonathan, Will, and Mike show up at your door, pleading for your help to find Eleven, you couldn’t just turn your back on them, not then, not ever.
You didn’t even know that Joyce, Eleven, and the boys moved to California shortly after you did. No one bothering to stay in touch, mostly you didn’t bother to stay in touch. Almost like you intentionally separated yourself from the people you were closest to. You would never admit it, blaming the lack of communication on school.
The truth was, you didn’t want to be part of Hawkins anymore. You didn’t want to fear for your life. The scar that Hawkins left on your soul made you paranoid, made it hard for you to live a normal life. Always looking over your shoulder, always ready for a fight.
The drive back was like riding a bike, you could drive it blind folded if you had to. Everyone thought it would be best if you drove the last bit as Jonathan was barely able to stay awake at this point. The tall, full trees lined the only road in and out of Hawkins. Car after car rushing to escape the town as disaster stuck only nights before.
Passing shelters, destroyed homes, police and media, all lining the streets trying to make sense of the situation. If only they knew the truth.
The car swings around the curb, braking suddenly outside of the Wheeler house. You never thought you would be here again, at least not in this lifetime. Pausing, white knuckling the steering wheel as you hear the van door slide open. Mike, Eleven, Will, Argyle and Jonathan exiting the vehicle to be reunited with loved ones again. You take your time getting out of the pizza van, not sure if you wanted to see them, not sure if they wanted to see you .
Finding yourself staying by the van with Argyle. He was new, didn’t know about Hawkins and was thrown into this mess similar to how you all were. How could he continue to want to be part of this? Your gaze drifts down, your chest heaving rapidly. Your feet glued to the ground, unable to move from your spot.
Closing your eyes, trying to regain a sense of self. It shouldn’t matter that you left then, it should only matter that you are here now . Some relief washing over as you repeat that you are here now, you are here now, you are here now. The held breath releasing as you scan the scene in front of you, the warm breeze picking up making you draw the wild strands of hair behind your ears.
You watch as Mike hugs his mom, her eyes tender and soft, thanking the gods for him to be returned safely, stating how he is never allowed to leave home again. Her hands never leave his body, afraid that if she lets go then he will disappear without a trace again.
Jonathan approaches Nancy, both unsure of their relationship, both yearning for a solution - but still they hug, the sweet embrace almost made up for the long, angry phone calls and the absence spring break trip.
Jonathan told you all about his Nancy problems, hoping you would be able to help. He didn’t like your answer of honesty and communication, joking how you were never honest with your true feelings for a certain Hawkins boy. Quietly commenting that you should have made a move a long time ago to get him to move on from Nancy.
After all this time, you couldn’t believe he was still hung up on her. But maybe he was supposed to move on. Move on to someone who he spent all his time with, to the person he’d drop by at their house unannounced, to the girl who was so tired of the neverending nightmares that she did everything she could to move as far away as possible. Even if it meant breaking the heart of the person she was supposed to end up with.
And there he was…
Boy, was he a sight for sore eyes. The green-blue sweater with the rolled up sleeves to the washed out blue jeans hugging his hips in all the right places. The way his hair was so delicately placed, too messy to be considered neat, too neat to be considered messy. His eyes heartbroken, full of pain and anger. Full of every ounce of love that he is willing to give away in a heartbeat. Your soul aching for him.
His hand placed on the back of his neck, clearly hurt from the unfolding scene between Nancy and Jonathan. Robin’s hand pressing gently on his back, guiding him away.
You weren’t surprised that he still had feelings for her. A little annoyed, yes, but not surprised in any way. He would always talk about her, the way she laughed and talked and smiled. And it made you so angry back then. Realizing that the anger never left.
He hasn’t noticed you yet, his eyes fixated on the ground. Probably hoping to finally disappear. You feel the same. You were two passing ships in the night too afraid to let the other one know you were there, constantly turning off your lights, constantly dropping your sails.
The situation between you both was left pretty rocky. You could never decipher the tension between you both, was it love or indifference? Steve was always there for you and even supported your decision to leave Hawkins, even if that meant never seeing you ever again.
You promised to call each other once a week, which did happen until once a week turned into once a month and once a month turned into dozens of missed calls on both ends. Leaving you both hopeless and alone. Both trying to figure out adulthood without the comfort of a childhood friend.
Before pushing your body away from the car, you look over at Argyle for some sort of friendly relief. After hearing Jonathan complain about you never making a move on Steve, Argyle has been constantly encouraging you since. To not wait for any guy to make the first move, to create your own future. You were surprised at his wisdom.
His kind smile helps ease your nerves as your feet move one in front of the other, your heart beating so loud you can hear it in your ears. The drowning noise of your blood rushing through your body almost makes you want to turn around. Run away like the first time - but you were tired of running. Tired of the ‘what if situation’ that danced between you and Steve. This was your moment and there was no way you were going to turn back. Not this time.
Walking down the driveway, Mrs.Wheeler silently thanks you for helping bring Mike back home safely. Her hand lightly squeezes yours as you pass. Your lips curl, barely a smile forming as your mind is elsewhere.
Nancy watches as you walk by, her body still wrapped in Jonathan’s arms. Her mouth barely parted, maybe she wanted to say something but immediately regretted his decision to make any comment. The strong bond between you both broke when she started to date Steve…then Jonathan. You were civil with one another but you’ve barely spoken a sentence in the past three years. Neither of you wanting to resolve your years-long battle.
Robin’s and Steve’s gaze are on you. Stopping right in front of the pair, realizing you didn’t have a plan once you got to this point. Robin instantly beaming that bright smile that you missed so much. Her hug was intentional, like she was trying to squeeze all the events of this past week out of you. Cleansing you of all the horrors. Your arms wrap around his waist, pulling her deeper, knowing you needed her in that moment. Her comfort washing over you, giving you the strength you so desperately needed. She releases you, arm's length away, her smile inviting and safe.
Your eyes shifting to Steve. Swearing in that moment that he was smiling but immediately covering it with a cough and a snatch on the nose.
She squeezes your shoulders before walking away, giving you and Steve a little alone time. Even if that alone time was in front of half your friends.
“Hey.” You exhale, the tension growing between the two of you. The air suddenly still as his eyes studying your face, his fingers twitching every so slightly.
In one swift movement, grabbing your wrist, pulling you in for a hug. The instant smell of his cologne filling your head, making you dizzy with the smell of home. No words needed to be spoken between the two of you. He was just glad you were safe, finally in his arms.
You missed him.
Not just this past week, but for the past 8 months. He pulls you in closer, his body finally relaxing against yours. The breath of fresh air was everything you both needed, everything you have ever wanted, and everything you will ever need.
In this moment, you were his and he was yours. Everything was right with the world. All the trouble of this past week washes away, your minds clearing, seeing a future with only the two of you.
You both pull back, speaking in a silent conversation. Neither of you know how to respond in this situation. Both of you felt the buzz, the electricity, the love.
After all this time, it felt like you never left. The feelings for Steve came crumbling back down. You thought this was your chance, your only chance . Your body makes the decision for you, as your hand wraps around the back of his neck, pulling him down to meet your lips.
Your breath instantly intertwines with his, every inhale pulling him closer and closer. Your other hand balling up into the soft fabric of his sweater as he deepens into you. His hand catching your cheek, his lips soft and warm, gentle yet demanding. The craving of his touch on your skin sends heat waves throughout your body.
He takes his time, wanting to remember this moment. All the uncertain feelings, all the unfinished conversations, crashing down all around you both. Kissing him was the only way you could tell him everything you had kept in for all these years.
He pulls back, resting his forehead on yours, pure eyes as he whispers, “I missed you too.”

The cold midnight air nipped at your skin. It didn't do much to help the rosy pink hue of your cheeks that were caused by a certain person who sat in her car, watching as you made your way home. You had told her to drop you off a little away from your home, in case anyone in your home was still up.
You hadn't meant for this to happen when you had snuck out of the house to go to a party. It was originally to watch over Chrissy and to make sure Jason and his friends didn't do anything stupid. But you somehow ended up in a room, alone with a girl you had met very few times. She was pretty, sure, but you hadn't pictured your first kiss to be her.
It all just happened. Things got a little further before you realized what had happened and immediately wanted to go home. The girl was super understanding. Jason had taken Chrissy back to her house before you had left, so you didn't have to worry about her. What you did have to worry about was the pink marks around your mouth from a bright lipstick.
Before you had stepped out of her car, she wiped at the mark under your lip, her finger lingering as she smiled sweetly at you. “For your first kiss, you weren't bad.” She found herself so amusing.
The kiss wasn't bad, honestly. She just wasn't someone you had seen yourself kissing, unlike a short-haired and blue-eyed dork.
You walked up to your door, trying to quietly open it.
Your mother stood by the door, a red dress, lips colored to match, a purse hanging off her slumped shoulders, eyelids colored along with darkened eyelashes, jewelry hanging from her wrist and ears, and white pumps. She looked to the side, noticing you.
She was dressed for a date night, yet your father was snoring, and they haven't gone out in a while. Actually, you couldn't remember the last time you were stuck at one of her friend's house while they went out. It just wasn't something they did. She could be going out with said friends, but it was already late, surely, they were all in bed.
She turned from where she had been looking in the living room.
You both just stood there, staring, not knowing who was to ask the first question and when.
“I won't ask if you don't.”
She sounded guilty, but you probably looked it.
Nodding, you closed the door quietly and slipped past her, getting a whiff of her perfume. She glanced from you making your way up the stairs back at Ned and Holly, who slept peacefully in his recliner.
Sighing, she stepped out of her shoes and let her purse fall down her arm.
Karen looked at you through the vanity mirror, watching as you fiddled with the hem of your black dress. “What do you think?” She lifted her lips into a smile when you raised your head, looking at the work she had done to your hair. She had curled it and stuck a few pins in to keep hairs in place. “Love it. Thank you.” Your eyes fell back down, along with her smile.
“Talk to me, sweetheart.” You were going to your best friend's funeral, for crying out loud. “Please.”
“Nothing to talk about.” You kicked your chair backwards against the carpet, before standing up.
She stood, looking at your empty seat, trying to think of how to help you, how to help the bags under your eyes that she covered up. She could only assume they were from not sleeping.
You sat 2 pews behind Jason, going between looking at Chrissy's mother as she sobbed for her daughter and glaring into the back of Jason's head.
From your spot, you saw a muscle tick in Jason's jaw when Mrs. Cunningham had brought up 'the monster that did this to her'. You two had different monsters you wanted to get rid of for the same reason.
The fabric felt itchy. Your skin felt as if you were wearing low-quality wool, poking and prodding constantly. Your mother held a weeping Mrs. Cunningham as she tried to comfort her. Your eyes searched the room. You had lost him. One second you had Jason and his friends in your sight, the next they were gone. There's no telling where they were and what they were planning.
Truthfully, you felt bad for still thinking of anyone beside Chrissy today. Yes, Chrissy's mother was mostly a terrible mother, no matter how much she and Chrissy both tried to cover it up, but she had still lost her child.
“What was the last thing she said to you, dear?” Mrs. Cunningham and your mother watched as you looked over and tried to find the words.
Your mouth moved, but no words came out.
“Truthfully, I don't remember. I'm sorry.” Your voice was barely above a whisper, your own frame sinking in.
Your mom nodded, trying to ease you. “That's alright.”
You offered a small nod before looking around for the door, for fresh air.
Was it 100 degrees right now? Were you allergic to the fabric of your dress? You currently felt allergic. Your skin felt hot, but the blood coursing through your veins felt cold as ice. Air hit your face, the smell of a cigarette being smoked wafted through your nose, the bright light from the sun burned into your irises, your legs shook. The wall behind you felt like it suddenly disappeared until your back finally hit it. Your lips moved to breathe in and out, the ragged breath making it difficult. In, out, in, out, in, out, in-
“Sweetie!”
Karen rushed toward you, noticing the way your legs shook, chest moving too quickly, eyes glancing quickly from one place in the concrete to another. “Breath, c'mon. It's okay, mama's here.”
As your body went limp, she caught you, falling down the brick wall to hold you tightly, rubbing your back and pushing your curls away from your face.
Your eyes caught pairs of shoes walking out of the door in a hurry. Looking up, you watched Jason and his friends as they left going god knows where.
"Can we leave?"
“I'm back home.” Your finger lifted from the button on the walkie, before you threw it on your bed, going back to packing your bag.
Just as you walked out of your room, making your way to the kitchen, Eddie's voice broke through the tiny speaker.
“Hey, Dustin. You there? It's Eddie, you remember me, right? Hey, uh, if anyone's there, I really think I might be in a bit of trouble here. Okay? Wheeler? Either of you? Anybody?!”
“Woah, woah!” Steve stumbled out of the dark room, wiping and hitting every part of his upper body, trying to kill the stupid spider. Nancy looked him over, confused. “Wha-what's wrong?”
“There was a spider.”
“What?”
“It's a black widow.” He continued to hit his shoulder, feeling as if twenty thousand spiders were crawling on his skin. He slammed the door shut, “Don't go in there.”
“Oh, oh.” Nancy's hand moved to get something out of Steve's hair, “Wait, just-”
“What? Something…" His voice trailed off as she continued to get whatever it was out of his hair.
“Wait, stop moving.”
“Okay.”
“I just… I got it. I got it.”
“Thank you.”
“If there's a spider in there, you're never going to find it until it lays eggs and the babies spill out.”
Steve scoffed, glaring at Robin as she walked past, laughing. “What's wrong with you?” Robin kept chuckling, walking further away from the two. “Robin, seriously.” he redirected his words to Nancy now, “She's got problems.”
“Yeah, tell me about it.”
“It's cool you two are, like, friends now. Maybe after we find Vecna, kill him, save the world and stuff, maybe we can all go out.” Nancy smiled at the guy in front of her as he went on. “You know, me, you, Robin, Y/n, Jonathan, when he's back.” Nancy kept messing with his hair, making sure there weren't any more spiderwebs or anything. “It's not like we're dating. Me and Robin. Not like we're dating. Right? She told you? Robin? That we're not?”
“Yes, she made that very clear.”
Steve nodded as Robin added in. “Platonic with a capital P.”
“Yep. Thank you.”
He tried to hide the reddening in his cheeks, if asked, he was surely going to blame it on Robin irritating him. That's it. He wasn't embarrassed. Not one bit.
“I mean,” His voice went back quiet, a little louder than a whisper. He should probably stop talking. “I would date her. She's just…" He should definitely stop talking. “She's-we're just… Never mind. We're friends. We're just friends. She- I know someone who would be great for her. We're not- we're friends.”
“Right. Right.” Nancy fiddled with a few strands of his hair before stepping back. “Okay, all better.”
Steve turned, “Great. Thanks.” His eyes went from her face to the dust covered hallway walls and floors. “Guess we should, uh, get back to the investigation.” Getting an awkward nod, his mouth continued to spew, “”The obvious things are not what people observe.” or “do…don't deserve.” or…" his lips formed a straight line, unimpressed with himself. “Sherlock Holmes.”
Before he could make an even bigger fool of himself, he walked away. “y/n's probably back by now.”
Hearing what Steve had said, Robin's mind wandered to you. How were you doing? How did the funeral go? How were you emotionally and mentally right now?
Knowing you, you were probably still thinking about what you guys were to do about Eddie and Vecna instead of registering what had happened. It's not doing you any good in ignoring what happened even if you don't realize it. She'd gladly help you if you'd let her. She would hold you and tell you it's going to be okay. It eventually will be, Robin thought.
At this point, you were counting the bumps in your ceiling, the envelope max gave you flipping between your fingers.
What were they doing? Why haven't they answered you back? Eddie had spoken over the walkie, apparently Jason was at Reefer Rick's, but it had been a while since he had said anything else. You would've gone to help him if you had a way. If you were to walk there, Jason would see and you and Eddie both would be in so much trouble. What was Mike up to in California? Was he having more fun? God, you hope so.
Upbeat music played through the speakers. Nancy didn't care enough to change the radio.
“Not to be a wimp, but can I sit in the car for this visit? Cause this is gonna totally and royally suck.”
“It'll be fine.” Nancy's knuckles turned white from gripping the steering wheel.
“I can't stand to see those doe eyes of Eddie's break again. I really, really can't.”
Steve stuffed another chip into his mouth, quickly chewing and lifted the 6 pack of beer from where he sat beside you, in the very back. “At least he can drink himself into feeling better.”
“That's what my mom does.” Your lips went into a frown at Max's statement.
"Why don't we give it a trial run? "Hey, Eddie. Uh, good news first this time. We got you some Dustin-approved junk food and that six-pack you requested. Oh, yeah, and we found Vecna. Only the bad news is that he's in the other, darker, much scarier dimension that we told you about and the gate's closed, so we have no way of getting to him. Like, he's entirely shut off to us so basically, you're screwed. And no, I know you were already screwed, but now you're doubly, triply screwed.”"
“Okay calm down. Want a chip?” Robin turned to look back at you, looking from your face that wore an awkward smile to your hand had held the can of Pringles. She shrugged, reaching back the farthest she could. Sadly, it wasn't far enough because Max had to grab the can and hand it to her. She plopped back down, huffing and looking out of her window at the passing trees.
“Wait, maybe we don't put it like that.” Lucas offered.
“"We're one step closer to finding Vecna." That's what we say. That's what's important.”
“See, Robin? A positive spin can make all the difference.”

Prompt: "Shut up, you know I'm literally obsessed with you"
Billy Hargrove x Fem Reader
(Billy maybe a little OC) May have some misspelling.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It all started with a simple question "You free Saturday at 1?". Such a simple question right? What could possibly happen when your boyfriend of 6 months, Billy Hargrove, asks if you're free Saturday afternoon. Well lets start from the beginning right after your shift at the record store...
The chime of the bell at the front door gains your attention, putting on your customer service smile and voice. "Hello welcome to- and it's just you." Your voice going somewhat flat after seeing it was your boyfriend and not a customer.
"Wow, do you welcome all your favorite customers like that?" Billy grinned at you.
"What do you want?" You said to him, "You know I don't get off till 6:45." You lean your body over the counter and crossing your arms under your chest to be closer to Billy. Billy, having the same grin on his face that he walked in with, does the same motion as you. In a result your noses almost touching. You giggle at his antics.
"Well. I was wondering if you were free Saturday at 1?" Billy asked.
"Why?"
"Cause your pretty and I wanna take you out" Billy said like that was reason enough.
"Why?" Now you got playful.
"Cause it's a surprise." Billy said.
"Why?"
"Can you go Saturday or not?" He laughed.
"Yes I can go Billy, I would love to." You smiled. Billy leaned forward an gave you a smooch on your lips. You giggled into the kiss as he parted ways from your lips.
"Okay, Saturday at 1. Just look pretty like you always do." He said making his way out of the store. Now you get to be giddy till this Saturday when your date is.
Saturday, current time-12:55
You have been meticulously been putting yourself together for you date. Your make had warm tones and put delicately onto your face to enhance your already pretty features. Your outfit was put together perfectly in the case of being outside, going to a cute restaurant, or the need for back seat action for after.
You stared at the clock on your bedside as the hour changed to 1:00. At that moment the doorbell rung through the house. You jump up from your bed and down your stairs to the door, running past your mom to the door to open it.
"I got it!" You yelled.
"Alright, honey." Your mom laughed. You opened the door to see your dashing boyfriend. With his usual unbuttoned shirt that showed off his chest and jeans that fit him right. Billy smiled when he saw you.
"Hello gorgeous."
"Hey handsome." You said to Billy. "Bye mom!" You shouted to your mom as you shut the door leaving. Making your way to Billy's car, he opened the door for you to get in.
"Wow, doing all the stops are we." You joked.
"Just get in sweetheart." Which you did. Then Billy got into the drivers seat. And the date has begun. The short drive you thought that was going to be taken turned into a two hour drive to Indianapolis. You started looking out to all the tall buildings, "Billy what are we doing?" You asked as you still looked out at the city.
"Don't worry pretty girl, I know what I'm doing." Was all Billy answered with. It was another twenty minutes till Billy parked that car in a parking garage. He took my hand. We walked for what felt like five minutes; we then arrived to a familiar building, 'well at least for me.'
"Billy, why are we at the International Indianapolis Museum?" You looked to him. Billy just smiled to you.
"Because your super amazing boyfriend got two tickets for the limited time art expedition for his sweet girlfriend that he loves." He said, flashing two tickets to you. You stared wide eyed at him, mouth gaped an all. You've been talking his ear off about the exposition. Painting from not only the British museum is here but the Louve as well, only for two weeks here in Indianapolis. You couldn't afford ticket so you thought it was out the window. But some how your boyfriend got you tickets.
"You got us tickets." You said.
"Yep."
To go to a museum?"
"Yes I did."
"But you hate museums?!" You are flabbergasted by this.
"Yes, but I love you." Billy smiled, " I'm gonna have ten hour shifts for a while but it's worth it." Putting his hands on your waist pulling you closer to him. Your chests meet: Billy is just smiling down to you.
"But-" You were cut off.
"Shut up, I'm literally obsessed with you." Billy stated, holding you close. "You are the only girl I wanna be with, and the only girl that stand my bullshit." You laughed at him hugging him close to you.
"Okay, let's go in lover boy." You both made your way to the front, Billy giving the tickets to the man in the booth. With the transaction down with you made your way in.
The colors blasted into your face. Never letting Billy's hand go, dragging him from one painting to another. Whispering small notes and facts about each painting to him. Billy letting you do it with a smile on his face. You and Billy made it to a hall of art pieces. They were gorgeous. The pinks were bright, the purples, the yellows... the red. Everything was perfect. Faint classical music played in the back. What also surprised you was what small number of people were here. Well it was the last day of the expo, so it made since. You and Billy did kinda stick out a bit; being that you guys weren't as well dressed as the others. Nothing mattered though. You were with Billy holding his hand the entire time, no one else existing to either of you. In front of you, for real life, was The Kiss by Gustav Klim. You just stared ahead at the piece, unknown to you was that Billy was staring at you.
"Isn't she beautiful." You simply said.
"Yeah, you are." Billy answered. You look to him with wide eyes; a smiled then forms on your face. You realize that it was only you and Billy in the exhibit room now. You felt Billy lean back a bit dragging you with him, taking your other hand within his.
"Okay do it." He said with no context.
"What?" You asked.
"Really." He laughed, "You dance on my feet, now do it I find it cute."
"Okay bossy." In your doc martins you step onto his motorcycle boots, even on his feet you were still kinda on your tiptoes. You both gently swaying to the music that played over head. Nothing mattered to either of you except for right now. The light were dim but you both could still see each other. Your hand in his the other on his shoulder; with his hand also in yours as for the other is on your hip. Billy guided you both across the floor of the museum following the melody. You both just stared at each other, lovingly. Billy leaned toward you kissing your cheek softly then moving to your lips. This wasn't your first kiss with Billy, obviously, but this was one your few kisses like this. Nothing but soft. passion that you hold for each other. Your kiss felt like the universe was yours, nothing else could ruin this. Billy separated from the kiss.
"I love you." He said sweetly.
"I love you too." You smiled. Stepping of his boots, locking your hand with his and continuing you way through the museum. After a few more expo rooms and a few sculpture pieces, you and Billy made your way outside. Billy's watch reading 5:30.
"So what are we doing now?" You asked.
"We, my sweet girl, are going to the best restaurant in all of Indianapolis." Billy stated walking with you in hand down the street.
"Really?" You were shocked.
"Yeah we're going to Burger King." You laughed at his response. "Hey we are on a budget from the point out." He joked back at you.
"Alright, whatever you say lover boy." You wrap yourself around his arm and continue your prefect night with you perfect boyfriend. Laughing and kissing the night away.
A/N: Back again with another chapter, I have a playlist if you guys are interested! If you wanna be tagged in the next chapter let me know! Also unsure if if this will have the upside down cause I feel like it's hard with Jovie. Taglist is open!
Eddie Munson x Mom! Reader.
TW: Children
Chapter 2
When Eddie awoke, he noted the missing weight on his chest but wasn’t concerned figuring her mother had taken her from him sometime in the night, or at this point: morning.
He didn’t hear the quiet padding on the carpet as Jovie made her way back to him. Eddie had easily become her next favorite person. He was something new, she liked new.
She stared at him as Eddie lay with his eyes still closed. “Leave him be Jovie,” y/n said softly, careful to not wake Eddie who unbeknownst to her was already awake.
“Mama, make breakfast?” The tiny being asked, not at all quiet. Eddie heard y/n snort and found it to be the most adorable sound. She answered the child too quietly for Eddie’s ears to pick up but heard them or at least y/n retreat into the kitchen.
“Dude get up,” Mike said nudging Eddie’s feet. Eddie quickly flipped off the wheeler boy and opened his eyes, wincing when the light hit them. Mike was flipping Eddie off as he sat up. “Very nice Wheeler,” Eddie says rolling eyes.
Jovie gasped as she heard his voice, and padded her way over to him leaving her mother in the kitchen. “Like breakfast?” She asked him, grabbing his attention with her broken speech.
He smiled at her. Taking in her pigtails and almost too-long tee. “Oh man I love breakfast” Eddie wasn’t sure where this came from: The sudden knowledge of how to say things to the tiny being.
Jovie held out her hand, and Eddie offered his much larger one. Her small hand wrapped around just two of his fingers and pulled on him. This action only barely jerked his arm instead of pulling him up like she had planned.
Eddie stood, letting her lead the way. Y/n stood at the counter whisking what looked to be eggs with a fork in a large porcelain blue bowl. "Help yourselves" she spoke not looking up from her task of whisking.
Eddie grabbed a plate and made one for Jovie seeing as the other teens were piling food on their own plates, not bothering to leave enough for the child. Once he piled food onto her plate he then stared at the plastic baby blue highchair. "How the f-" he stopped himself short, "How does she get in this thing" he asked, terrified to break the foreign technology.
y/n came and slipped the child in as if it were nothing then just resumed making breakfast for the ravenous teen boys. "Thank you for feeding her" She offered Eddie a smile that sent a fuzzy feeling into his stomach.
"She probably wouldn't get to eat otherwise" Eddie joked, y/n laughed. He prayed to any god that she wouldn’t see the blush that spread across his face.
“You’re probably right” she smiled. Her smile quickly faltered as she concentrated, mind mulling over her next words. Her lips pursed as she spoke, “I have an extra ticket to go see this band, would you consider going?” He blinks, taken aback but she just continues before he can speak “My friend flaked and you look like you would enjoy Crusader”
“Wait, you have tickets to see Crusader?” He asks, more in awe that she even knew who Crusader was, she definitely wasn’t that type of girl, at least he thought she wasn’t.
“Yes, I just asked you to go with me” she shot back. Even her sarcasm was attractive to him, “can you hear under all that hair?” This was a tease, one that got him to smile.
“When is it?” He asked. He then learned it was Saturday at seven. He felt like this was an easy decision. Eddie had been dying to see this band. "Works for me"
They talked details, deciding y/n was going to drive. She’d also pick him up being as she would already be out dropping Jovie off with the babysitter. Eddie was very excited for this Saturday.
-
“Hey, are you ready to have some fun?” Steve asked the tiny girl who stood in front of him unamused at his overly excited tone. He glances up at y/n and says, “tough crowd”
The joke caused a snort to sound from y/n. “I don't know how fun she’ll be, she didn’t sleep well.” Steve offers a sympathetic smile and holds out hands to pick up the tiny human.
Jovie waddles her way into his arms, he squeezes her to him and lifts her into the air. Steve’s careful to sling her on his hip. Once she was settled he held his free arm out for the diaper bag. Which y/n placed on his shoulder.
“Have fun, y/n, you deserve it” he says, offering her a small smile while bouncing the child on his hip.
“I’ll see you tomorrow” she said to both Steve and her child but going to give her child a kiss on the cheek. “Bye Steve!” She called as she walked out the door and to her car.
She sat a moment in the car contemplating this excursion. Y/n did not want to be away from her baby, in fact this was the first time she’d be leaving her. It was not sitting well.
Y/n turned the key, igniting the ignition and back out of the parking spot. If only she hadn’t promised Eddie a ticket. She’d turn right back around.
The drive to pick up Eddie was short, he had waited on her at the edge of the road. Not wanting the embarrassment of her seeing where he lived, though he guessed everyone knew.
“Hey!” She beamed as he got into the passenger side of the car. “You excited?”
“Hell yeah!” He was beyond excited. This band was a local legend. He aspired to follow in their footsteps. “Let’s go” Pulling off the side of the road, they began their journey.
I genuinely love your writing so much! I was just rereading your Ronance fic and it got me thinking:
(This could be with either of them whether it’s Robin, Nancy or Ronance again, so whatever works best for you!)
What about accidentally saying “I love you” during sex? You haven’t said it yet and honestly weren’t planning on doing so. You do love them, obviously, but neither of you has said it out loud so far and you’d been worried they’d reject you.
But when they’re fucking you so good it turns your brain all mushy and foggy with pleasure it just slips out <33
- 🪷
a/n: thank you so much!! i chose ronance! i hope you enjoy, lovely <3
warnings: ROUGH SMUT!! fem!afab!reader. poly!reader. queer!reader. strap-on (nancy using, r receiving.) oral (r receiving from robin.) hair pulling. swearing. pet names (princess, sweetheart, baby, lovely.) some slight fluff [0.4k].
Tumblr media
Robin’s body was underneath you, head buried in your clit as she sucked and pulled at the erect bud. Nancy was gripping tightly onto your hips, fingernails digging into your plush skin as she moved your body on and off her silicone cock.
Your brain had turned to mush. You were a babbling mess, completely unaware of your surroundings. All you could hear was the suction sounds of Robin’s juicy lips and the slapping of Nancy’s beautiful cock against your rounded ass.
You could feel the ridges of the toy grazing just perfectly against your inner walls, your pussy sucking her in, wishing to never let her go.
“Nance— Robs— Oh God, fuck!”
Robin hums against you at your words, the vibrational waves making your legs shake immensely, Nancy speeding up the movements of her cock.
“Oh God, shit. I love you! I love you both so much! My favourite girls! I love you!”
The words slipped out without a second thought, your mouth reacting faster than your brain could comprehend. Nancy roughly shoves her cock all the way into the back of your pussy, her hips flush with yours as Robin lets up for air.
‘Oh no…’ you thought, ‘Are they gonna think I’m weird for saying that so soon?’
Nancy leans down to your ear, her breath making your body tingle all over, “Aw, we love you too, princess. Don’t we, Robs? Love her so fucking much.”
“You do?” you question, a slight essence of fear in your tone.
Robin nods breathlessly, “‘Course we do, sweetheart. We were waiting for you to say it. And now we can say it back. We love you so much. I love you so much, baby.”
“I love both of you too,” you smile weakly, mind still foggy over how well they fuck you.
And the gushy moment is swiftly over when Nancy pulls all the way out, just to force her cock all the way back in, the wind being knocked out of you. Robin’s tongue attacks your clit once more, Nancy tugging roughly on your hair and shoving your face into the mattress.
“Right, where were we? Oh yeah, making our lovely girl cum.”
And with that, their paces increase once more. You loved them both so much, and with the way they were fucking you, your brain would definitely be repeating that a hell of a lot more tonight.
Sorry this took me so long to write 🫣, I hope you like it 😏💓
Warnings: 18+
SMUT!! - face riding, nipple sucking, threesome, pussy grinding, scissoring, cunnilingus, touching, dirty talk, vibrator use, female masturbation, clit spanking.
Fluff- Film watching, hand holding. Sleepover themes.
Tumblr media
After leaving school, the girls disappeared to assemble their stuff for your slumber party that evening. It was a relatively common occurrence, you enjoyed spending time with them out of school.
You were all quite close, people called you the 3 musketeers since you were always together.
The doorbell rang as you were applying the finishing touches to your appearance, you would never tell them but you had the biggest crush on them both.
You had shared drunken kisses with them but never experienced anything more.
They walked into your house as you had just placed together their mattress on the floor. Throwing their things by your desk, they collapsed onto the bed next to you.
Robin brought out a selection of films from her bag, Nancy was clutching onto some snacks with a smile. After a long debate on what film to watch, you decided on Desert Hearts a 1985 lesbian movie.
It was their mission to introduce you to more lesbian films. Robin excitedly placed it into the VHS and with you in the middle, the film had you hooked.
As the film progressed, your clit began pulsating at the romantic sex scene that appeared on screen. You began squirming in your seat, Robin looks at Nancy who nods and edges closer to you on the bed, her hand touching your thigh as her other hand stroked your face.
Her lips hover over yours before kissing you softly, her lips slowly begin to move with yours.
Your nerves calm down as her hand slides further up your thigh, Nancy moves closer to Robin and pulls her off you. Kissing her roughly as you watch, getting turned on by their passion.
Nancy moves next to you, her hand touched Robin’s on your thigh. Together they edge closer to your waist, Nancy slipping her hand under your trousers first. Making you gasp as her cool hands graze your cunt, sliding down until her finger circles your clit.
Robins lips are back on yours alternating with Nancy as they both desperately want a piece of you. Nancy’s hand rubs between your folds, feeling you grow wetter and wetter.
“Have any toys we can play with, little one?” Nancy pauses, looking at you mischievously.
The film was still playing in the background as your shakily looked towards your bedside table. Nancy smirked and reached over, fumbling around inside until she found your vibrator.
Testing it a little in her hand, she pushed you hard onto the bed. Robin straddled you, holding you hard as she ripped down your trousers. Exposing your wet cunt, your hips bucked against her thigh.
“Not yet little one” She commanded, prodding her finger into your chest.
Your bra was firmly on your chest as Nancy moved the vibrator up your thighs until it reached your clit, you gasped loudly.
Robin clutched onto your arms above your head as she kissed your tits, Nancy rubbed the vibrator between your wet folds. Letting go of your hands slightly to unclip your bra, your tits bounced out in front of her face.
Her tongue circled your nipples making you shiver, slowly beginning to suck on them. Your gasps turning into moans, Nancy removed the vibrator for a second making you whine.
“More pls” you sounded pathetic as Robin sucked roughly onto your nipples.
“No baby, I think we should Robin fuck you with her cunt. Would you like that?” Nancy soothed your whining with a kiss.
Robin looked at Nancy in slight surprise but climbed off you and kissing Nancy who removed her underwear. Sliding her hand down to touch her dripping cunt, you lay on the bed watching them together.
When you think they aren’t looking, you move your hand down to touch your clit. Groaning as your hips buck against the bed, the sounds of both girls kissing makes you wetter.
Nancy snapped out of the kiss, pushing Robin aside as she noticed that you were spanking your clit desperately.
“Oh I see someone likes us kissing Rob” she sneered at you, pulling Robin in for another kiss and sliding her hand between her thighs.
You whimpered and spanked your clit harder as you continued watching. Robin pulled herself away from Nancy’s grasp and straddled you.
Moving your hand away from your throbbing clit, the sensation of another girls wet cunt on top of yours was intense. As she began to grind on top of you, you nervously placed your hands on her cheeks and helped her move.
She lifted up your head so that you were forced to look at her, moaning softly as you moved her faster and faster on top of you.
Nancy sat on the top of the bed, leaning closer to Robin and whispered something in her ear. They both nodded and you watched as Nancy stripped in front of you, your eyes widening at the sight.
“I’m going to fuck myself on your face, would you like that little one?” She whispered, kissing your ear softly. You nodded between moans.
Gasping as she slowly climbed between your face, her cunt was wet as she began to ride on your tongue. Her moans rippled across her body.
Your eyes closed tightly as you edged closer and closer to your orgasm, Robin and Nancy leant forward until their lips met.
Kissing passionately as they rode you, both of their wet cunts growing wetter by the second. Their moans were something you had never heard before, your legs shook quickly as Robin pounded her clit hard against yours.
You felt Nancy’s clit twitch on your tongue as she aggressively rode your face, her moans turning into pants. Sucking onto Robin’s tongue, Nancy was wetter than you had expected.
“Fuck little one, you’re going to make me cum” she whined loudly into Robin’s mouth.
“Cum for us baby” Robin moaned, slowly down her own speed against your clit.
You moaned onto her clit, sending vibrations which made Nancy’s body shake. Her eyes rolling back as you felt her cum, taking it all into her mouth.
She climbed off slightly and shook her dripping cunt over your face, making sure every bit of cum covered your face.
Collapsing onto the bed, she kissed Robin before bringing her lips to yours and kissing you roughly. Squeezing your nipples tightly as she nodded to Robin who continued to move on you.
Panting as your hips thrusted against her wet cunt, your legs were tired as she began to shake on you.
“Will you cum with me little one?” She panted, there was desperation in her eyes.
“Uh huh” you gasped, you were close as your clit throbbed on top of her.
She gripped hard onto your sides, digging her fingernails into your skin as you both edged closer to your orgasm. Her eyes burning into yours, biting your lip hard.
Robin looked hot as she humped her tired wet cunt on yours.
“Oh fuck, I’m going to cum” she moaned loudly, twitching hard as you felt her cum hard.
Your own body shaking as you came with her, still thrusting each others cum together until you were both overstimulated. Your lips and neck were sore and red from Nancy.
She fell heavily onto yours and kissed you soft, smiling as your sweaty bodies met. Your clits still twitching from relief.
“That was so fun” you smiled, still catching your breath with Robin on top of you.
“Maybe we should rewatch that film” Robin joked, winking at you both as her body glistened like you all with sweat.
