Top 5 (books with neurodiverse characters) Tuesday
Of course this has always been a big passion of mine, being ND from a young age (ADHD and Tourettes) so I’m always happy to share recs! My memory is fuzzy with A List of Cages and I’ve not yet read Drews’ book but I know everyone really loves it + Drews is another big believer in diversity, especially in books. If you want tto see more prompts, go to Meeghan Reads for all of that.

I received a card from one of my favorite authors ever today! I love Robin Roe's writing so much, and I just love her in general. I never thought I would have an opportunity to grow close to someone that I deem famous/well known like I have with Robin. We started talking around the time I read her book A List of Cages in 2019 because I had posted on my Instagram on how it had only taken me six hours to even read the book. She asked me how I was doing after I had written on her post a year later around my dad's passing in the comments. However, she immediately dm'd me privately to dive more into how I was.
Flash forward to this year, she gave me an opportunity to read the advanced copy of her book: Dark Room Etiquette and she inspired me to start writing something very personal; hopefully it will become an actual book someday. She went out of her way to read some of it and I wanted to cry because I didn't believe I'd get so lucky to have an author actually compliment what I had came up during a two hour writing session without any editing.
She asked me for my address and said she really wanted to send me a card and after I had a horrible week at work, this card made my heart melt. I cannot compliment Robin enough for her work and for her sweet heart she has. She is a blessing and I'm so glad she has entered my life at a time I never thought I'd need her most.
Thank you, Robin. <3
