hey there, my name is V (he/him) and this is my OC sideblog! (for personal preference, i'm not going to share my main blog. please don't ask for it!)

key company is a Band of Brothers-inspired OC project, made up of about 10 main OCs that i'll get to in a second. its still heavily under construction, so dont judge anything too harshly! more information under the cut. notes: proshippers DNI, i dont fuck with that.

key co. is the canonical universe all the boys are located in. its set during the 1930-40s. there's currently 2 AUs, a modern au, and a band au. ill list the main 10 before giving summaries of each AU! notes: robinheart is paul x cliff, chaosship is joe x crash (the main ships!) the modern AU is set in 2024! the boys are about 30-35 (canonically 18-20). they all basically met during college (with the exception of a few). the band AU is set around 2009-2010! they're in their 20s. the band is called CRUNCH10, its genre is punk and it was created by Jumper! (but unfortunately, he isn't in it! paul is the lead singer, sticks on guitar, joe on drums, and crash on bass. jumper does all the lyrics, managing, etc. he's, ironically, the only punk and he's living vicariously through them lol.) they have two albums, TWIST and Hunting Season.

Second Artfight attack of the year, and this time it’s a fullbody!!!

Now, with that, I will be taking a much needed break from arting because my back does not appreciate the artist shrimp posture.

My howrse naming system

(As someone who does not have unlimited breeding farms)

My current breeding farms are:

Camp Half Blood (non-purebred horses <5k GP)

Immortals & Magics (special coats, divines, horses with the stone)

Raven’s Nest & Dark Forest (purebred by me and unifails. This now also includes breed-specific affixes, a new thing I’ve started doing when a breed releases, starting around the Konik release. <5k GP)

The Talent Team (horses bred by me with over 5k GP. Only farms that supersede this are immortals & magics and…)

Starclan Unicorns (unicorns of all breeds)

“Other horses” (this includes all my drafts and donkeys)

So. A lot of organization is done by affix but you can’t sort by those, and Coat Collection (which tracks all the coats for the ‘breed coats’ collection) overrides all of those. So this is where the naming conventions come in!

CHB horses will always have a “normal” human name. They will also have a two-part name if the parent of their same gender is known and properly named. A filly will have [dam’s name] [own name], a colt [sire’s name] [own name].

Examples: Damon Amatus (son of Damon) and Polyxena Lieke (daughter of Marie Polyxena, who is the daughter of Annalisa Marie, etc etc).

I first did this with only the mares, since I tend to ‘rent’ sires, but it still helps me to both identify which ones are part of CHB even in settings where I don’t see the affix (like in spreadsheets I made) and it allows me to ‘trace’ bloodlines a bit. Idk it’s just cute to me.

Raven’s Nest horses will always have a song title as a name. This one is pretty simple. (Yes, trying not to repeat names IS hell, thank you for asking)

Starclan Unicorns and Dark Forest Geenhoorns (unifails*) will have warrior cats names. Starclan Unicorns will be more positive names, Dark Forest more negative.

Talent Team horses in the League and Champions divisions (5k-7.5k and 7,5k-10k) have Star Stable horse names. If their parent is also a TT horse, they’ll inherit either the prefix or suffix of their parent’s name. If both the parents are TT horses, the foal will inherit both the prefix and suffix of their name from their parents. If this foal is the third of this pairing, either the inherited prefix or suffix is changed to something similar. If a suffix is gendered, it will be adapted to suit the gender of the foal.

Example 1: mother Stormcloud and father Brightlight - Brightcloud and Stormlight are already taken by siblings, so a third foal might be named Brightwind.

Example 2: mother Amethystlady and father Robinheart - a colt born of these two might be named Robinlord.

Talent Team horses in the Legends and Mythicals divisions (10k-15k and 15k+) get to have fancy names. I have to let my creativity out somewhere! And besides, being the only ones to not follow a format makes them still really recognizable!

The donkeys are often just taken from a ‘donkey name generator’.

Percherons are named after paint colours I took from a store website. You know, the really fancy paint names where they only tangentially have to do with the colour.

Ban’ei are named by an angel name generator. Similarly, Drum Horses have pegasus names, Koniks have dryad names, Misaki have mirror twin names, German Saddlebreds have ghost/spirit names, and Shires have sylph names.

* The Dutch howrse community tends to use the word “geenhoorn” instead of “unifail”. The Dutch word for unicorn is “eenhoorn”: literally “one-horn”. The pun “geenhoorn” in this context would translate to “no-horn”.

Some new WIP cat designs I haven’t gotten around to drawing yet. Which one is your favorite so far?

You’ll notice that Robinflame is the only one with a fleshed-out personality so far. That’s because he’s based off of someone very close to me irl. Also, I may make one (or both) of the other two nonbinary or have different pronouns other than she/her and he/him.

Note: I used a cat maker on DeviantArt for Ospreystrike’s design. It’s a Flash game, so I’m not sure if it works anymore.

Fun fact about nightfeather : she was scared of her parents when she was born however she soon learned that they weren’t here to hurt her. she liked cuddles as a Kit they made her feel safe (especially ones from Barley Ravenpaw or Haytail or her boyfriend ginger) also she has kits!

hm. ok lemme think this one out. large, bravery/speed, red/darker tones, robins (and similar), flight.

the easy way out is robin-. robinpeak? robinheart? but i dont like the easy way out. -race or -leap. robinleap could work. featherrace? robinrace breaks my rules. featherleap? birdrace? do i break my own rules for robinrace?

i like robinrace. how do you feel about robinrace.

Starska: Hyacinthshine, the Tongue of Raza - extremely tall, slender tortoiseshell molly with a distinctive star-shaped mane around her head. She has purplish-red fur with black spots across it and narrow green eyes. Her blessing of the stars is a black marking on the top of her tail. (7 Years, 6 months) 

Guide: Lostkin - tall, thick, pure white molly with an orange tail tip. She has scars across her green eyes, and her left shoulder and throat. Her Blessing of the Healer is bilberries and passionflower. (7 years, 3 months)

Gingerfang - short, long legged grey molly with mottled ginger spots across her fur, a ginger muzzle and a vibrant ginger tail. She has green eyes. Her Altair is an African Grey Parrot. (9 years, 5 months)

Jaguartrot - tall, dense, spotted golden tabby tom with sleek, shiny fur and mottled black spots across his face and tail. He has a fluffy mane down his neck and his eyes are blue. His Altair is a Jay.(9 years, 4 months)

Manchineelstripe - long, greenish-grey spotted tabby tom with a long, thin tufted tail. He has large ears and bright green eyes. His Altair is a Magpie. (8 years, 2 months)

Nightshadeslip - narrow, tall, black molly with a long, slender muzzle. She has a long slender tail, and narrowed dark purple eyes with yellow marks underneath them. Her Altair is a Raven. (8 years)

Bromeliadbarb - confident, spiky, pinkish red tom with dark splotches across his flank. He has a dramatic, fluffy tail, tufted fur on his hackles, cheeks, and heels. His eyes are red. (9 years, 4 months)

Medinillapelt - flowy-furred white molly with a long beard, chest fur, ears tufts and tail tuft. She has drooping whiskers. She has grey mottling across her pelt and has pink eyes. (8 years, 2 months)

Cormorantbriar - sleek, black tom with a long, narrow muzzle. He has a thin tail and long, rounded ears. He has bright blue eyes. (2 years, 10 months)

Laburnumstripe - sleek, long furred black tom with a long narrow muzzle. He has a thin tail and long rounded ears, and fluffy cheeks. He has bright yellow eyes. (2 years, 10 months)

Gatorgust - brawny, greenish grey tom with darker points. He has spiky fur down his spine, and has very sharp teeth. He has yellow eyes. (2 years, 1 month)

Robinheart - small, wiry, black and orange tortoiseshell molly with fluffy cheeks. She has a grey face and feet and blue eyes. (7 years, 1 month)

Twitchstream - frenzied, scruffy plain grey tom with yellow eyes. He has a darker tail, and one darker sock. (4 years, 10 months)

Cranecall - stern, fluffy white and black molly with red spotting on her pelt. She has red eyes, and a ruffled red and black tail, as well as dramatic fluff on her neck and chest. (4 years, 6 months)

Rainchaser - sleek, curly furred grey and blue spotted molly with red eyes. The fur on her chest and tail is flowy and silky. Her ears are flopped over. (4 years, 6 months)

Cannacrawl - long-bodied plain brown molly with a scruffy tail. She has a light underbelly and brownish orange eyes. (3 years, 9 months)

Greenpaws 

Mangrovesprout - scruffy, tan, black and red jack. Their eyes are fully covered with fluff, and their tail is heavy and drags on the floor. (7 months)

Lightsprout - scruffy, grey, black and blue jack. Their eyes are fully covered with fluff, and their tail is long and has a tuft at the end. (7 months)

Fumitorysprout - fluffy, small, mottled pinkish-white tabby molly. Her ears are pointed and she has a short tail with a large tail tuft. She has pinkish purple eyes. (6 months)

Orchidsprout - puffy, round, spotted pink and white molly. She has rounded ears and has a short tail with a large, poofy tail tuft. She has purple eyes. (6 months)

Queens 

Jungletail - sleek, tan and white molly with a upwards turned muzzle. She has a heavily furred, flowy tail that drags behind her. Her tail is completely white and she has darker-greyish spots. Her eyes are a bright grey. Her Altair is a Rook. (9 years, 9 months)

Turtlespot - round, plump bob tailed molly with a scar over one eye. She is black and has a pale ruff around her neck. She has black and reddish spots down her back. Her eyes are green. (9 years, 4 months)

Castorfeather - small, slim black tom with a long, silky tail. His eyes are red, and his tail is very flowy. He has protruding fangs. (8 years, 7 months)

Oleanderpollen - tall, white molly with a pink nose and paws. She has wide, intense blue eyes and a long thin tail. (3 years, 1 month)

Elders 

Sourbreath - skeletal grey tabby tom with scruffy, patchy fur. He has a large scar around his left eyes and his left flank. His left eye squints and he has snaggle teeth. His eyes are yellow. (15 years)

Marigoldshore - Tall, elegant tortoiseshell molly with long flowy fur and a lined face. Her tail is long and flowy, as is her neck fur. Her eyes are green. (14 years, 5 months)

Daturarasp - Large, brawny black tom with back turned, pointed ears. She has a large, dense, fluffy tail and red eyes. (14 years, 3 months)

Finchhail - Large, round, white mottled spotted tabby tom with small, round ears, and a bobbed tail. He has jade green eyes. (10 years, 4 months)

Kendle 

(Jungletail) Jasmineken - small, fluffy molly with greyish white fur and grey spots. She has extremely heavy fur on her chest and tail, and her eyes are fully covered by her fluff. (2 months)

(Castorfeather) Chanterelleken - small, scruffy molly with yellow tabby fur and and orange underbelly. She has scruffy fur on her tail and chest. She has red eyes. (1 month)

(Castorfeather) Critterken - scruffy molly with blue grey fur, and red and purplish fur on her tail. She has a paler underbelly and red eyes. Her chest is dramatically flared, and her ears are droopy. (1 month)

She uses She/They pronouns! They like to listen to grunge/90s rock music. she learned how to curse at a young age. (HAHA THANKS A LOT BARLEY!)

they are bisexual. she follows in Barley’s paw steps and Becomes a Rockstar. They basically stole both their parents aesthetics (Ravenpaw is kidcore and Barley is alternate lol so she’s a kidcore goth)
