nothing that hasn't been said before or more cleverly but, setting the robron of it all aside, it makes me desperately sad for aaron to think he's choosing something healthy and safe and good for him when john only loves the victim in him. the broken and needful and "perfect". aaron thinks he's choosing the healing path but john's only interested in aaron getting that if john gets to be the healer. aaron actually healing is secondary, if not completely prohibitive to that. it's such a heartbreaker for this man who's worked so hard to find health, love, and happiness for him to have been lured off away from them by a false light

As much as I love Robron I don't think I want them to have an affair right away.

I've heard the idea swirling around that Robert is suffering from a substance disorder which I think is my preferred scenario for his first official storyline out of prison. I think it would be a refreshing take if It was more along the lines of an eating disorder as opposed to a drugs related issue. Plus, it could also nicely lead into a Robron reunion in the long run.

If Robert is visually struggling, he will shrug off anyone who asks how he is (most likely Victoria). The little concern could build up over the next few months. As his health starts to physically decline, Victoria will grow exceedingly worried leading her to take desperate measures. She'll turn to Aaron. She knows Robert is more likely to listen to Aaron over anyone else. Aaron will inevitably share Victoria's woes and proceed to chase Robert down until he stops pushing Aaron away. (Similar to the affair era when Robert was chasing Aaron down when he was obsessively running as a form of self harm).

Aaron finally manages to wear Robert down. Gives an entire speech about how Victoria, Harry and Seb need him to keep himself together and forces him to talk about the hardship of prison, etc. To which Robert proclaims everyone is better off without him. Aaron immediately shuts down that idea by stuttering "if I lost you, Robert, I couldn't handle it" (he could maybe even add a little bit of spice to it by admitting he "never did" - relating back to Robert first going to prison and the troublesome years that followed Aaron afterwards). Robert inherently responds with "you've got John" only for Aaron to whisper those magical, little words "that's not enough".

Thus beginning the start of affair era 2.0.
