"So This Is Basically TOME" is finally out! This was an absolute hell video to make. My first artist quit on me halfway so I had to get every single asset redone (which cost $$$), I had to swap audio editors, my thumbnail friend's computer broke so I had to frantically slap something together... it was a mess.
In celebration of the 11th anniversary of the TOME webseries, “Hard Reset” is an animated short taking place a short time after the end of the final episode, following the continued trials of a certain ex-villain, @therockyraccoon.
Please show some love to tomies like @dentenzerotwo for phenomenally stepping in as the role of Archy, @toydrill for character design, development, promo and background art, and @vhscassette for a beautiful rendition of the credits theme I composed.
Wanted to do a little bit of fan art featuring Archie from TOME!
Archie is a good boy and a talented ranger (despite what he tells you.)
Seriously, check out TOME if you get a chance. Chris Niosi and his team made such a massive labor of love.
Featuring the Monsterockoon design for the Fantasy AU! Since the the three pieces of of the Shadowguard idol make up Kajet, and Alpha is already in possession of the beast's head (So Kajet can whisper terrible things in his ear all the time), I figured it was fitting for Rockoon to find another piece and have it infect him instead.
But this fragment doesn't have much of Kajet's consciousness like Alpha's piece, so it mostly just infects him with the raw, cursed energy trapped in the fragment. Mixed with Rockoon's love of destruction and recently picked up resentment for the world in general, the resulting combo is very dangerous.
Rocky is still capable of controlling himself, but the added cursed energy only adds to his need to cause destruction and mayhem to everything in his path as long as the energy is mutating him. So he's a lot more susceptible to the curse's desires than Alpha is, since Alpha wants nothing to do with hurting anyone.
Rockoon on the other hand, has it out for two people in particular. One of which Kajet's lingering presence will GLADLY help rip into squishy little shreds....
Rockoon takes orders from Kirb "on Zetto's behalf" when he's working for D-Buggers, so when fighting the group that constantly gets in his way with Kirb actively being a part of the fight this time, he has no trouble trying to call Kirb out on his "anti-hacker" bs because Rockoon is well aware Kirb's one of D-Bugger's ring leaders.
