Full Name: Reina Linh Rivera

Identity: Cis female (she/her), lesbian, mixed Asian and Hispanic descent, 35 years old (birthday Feb. 13th)

Department: Head of Pulmonology at PPTH

Physical Appearance: 6’1” tall, straight, dark brown hair, slanted/monolid dark brown eyes, tanned skin

Personality: She can be brash and talk before thinking, but she is practiced at smooth-talking her way out of it. She likes pick-up lines and is just charismatic enough to pull them off. By first glance, most would question her competence as a department head, but when she gets into work mode they usually understand. She is very competitive and stands her ground, traits she assumed as a woman in the workplace from her previous jobs where she was less respected. Because of her relationship with her father and past romantic relationships, she is naturally more distant and snarky with men, and assumes a protective role over female friends and partners (even when it is wholly unnecessary.) She bottles up most emotions and refuses to appear vulnerable to almost everyone.

Backstory: She was born in the suburbs in North Carolina. Her dad wanted a son so he subconsciously urges her to be less feminine and more of a tomboy (she was naturally inclined that way anyway, but it still stirs up some resentment once she realizes what was actually happening during her childhood.) She was urged to be tough by her father and confident and on top by her mother. She grew up competitive and perfectionistic; an honor-roll student, a three-sport athlete, etc etc. (The three sports were rugby, basketball, and softball.) Her parents wanted her to be a lawyer, but she cajoled them into paying for medical school instead.

When she was still struggling with her sexuality in high school, she had a boyfriend that she was obsessed with. He cheated on her! In undergrad she had a girlfriend she loved very much. She cheated on her! Working through her masters, she had a girlfriend she thought she was going to marry. Guess what that girlfriend did. Cheated on her! Because of her rocky dating history, she is very romantically reserved and can only handle surface-level non-committal relationships; anything of a higher caliber causes her to turn tail because she’s been burned so many times.

Show Presence: She shows up around the time of the Chase-Cameron situation when Chase wants to go further but Cameron is not into it. Essentially, she swoops in like “I can give you something purely physical and I can do it way better than him ;)” so she essentially takes Chase’s place. But… oh no… maybe Cameron is kinda cute and she likes her for her personality……

She interacts with the ducklings more than House or Wilson, only if her specialty is needed in a case. She’s as you would expect with House: returns his snark and refuses to let him boss her around until she can be 100% convinced she’s wrong. By first impression, she can be cold with Wilson because of his reputation for cheating and whatnot, but she eventually warms up a bit as she sees the depth to him.

TEEN PREGNANCY / joey's story starts with her mother: raised by a single mom in the heart of vegas, her father nowhere to be found. sin city took a toll on joey's mother, isabela, and she became pregnant with joey very quickly as a teenager with a boy in her class.

RUNNING AWAY / instead of telling her mother, isabela and joey's father ran away ... within vegas and it's surrounding areas. it was easy to get lost within the lights and the tourists that packed the streets on a summer day. joey's dad found a slew of jobs that was enough to purchase a run down van, and they would park it behind his workplace.

ABANDONMENT / they lasted for a few months. isabela was 6 months pregnant, and joey's father promised to return to the small van they had been living in but never did. isabela was 18 and alone with nothing but herself. during this time, isabela decided to move north. she hitchhiked and caught rides with drivers from nevada to washington, settling in seattle and attempting to make a life for her now - smaller family.

josephine was born in the early hours of april 29th, surrounded by only her mother and the nurses. it was only hours later that joey would be placed into foster care. it would be best for the both of them.

ADOPTION / immediately was sent to live with a family from near - birth until she was 6. it was only foster care, never an actual adoption, and unfortunately the couple who were raising joey broke up --- them choosing to relinquish her back into care.

this is how she landed in her fathers ( bastian and his husband's ) care. call her cliche, but she considers this one of the best moments of her life and will happily encourage adoption, no matter how hard people think it is or the misconceptions.

childhood stuff ....

always the active child. always doing stuff, probably the one bouncing off the walls every day all day. did all the extra curriculars. tried out for sports, dance recitals, etc.

was a Soccer Superstar from ages 8 to 17, where she played goalie and offense.

diagnosed with adhd when she was around 12, and has been taking medication for it ever since. though she tries not to classify herself as a "stereotype", mostly because she hates that feeling of being put in a box.

used to follow bastian around and "help" on his odd jobs, despite not actually helping. grew up to be semi - handy with tools and all sorts of things.

she loves her family, but joey is definitely someone who does not settle down. she wanted to spread her wings so to speak, so she went to eckered college in florida on a soccer scholarship, right on the seaside to study archology, mostly because she thought it was funny and that she thought digging up dinosaurs was cool. fulfilling a kid pipe dream and all that, y'know?

her freshman year, one of her roommates + said roommates boyfriend were in a band, that needed a drummer. joey didn't know how to drum. she thought it would be easy. so she said she could do it.

particualry awful the first few tries, she found her way after practice. and the band was born.

they were actually semi - decent, despite the rocky start. they grew in the florida scene and joey thought they were going to make it big. they were selling out small venues, word gets around, they had a spotify and soundcloud. big stuff.

after they graduated, she was left with few options because the band ... dismantled and joey didn't really have any reason to stay in florida. she stayed for about two years before deciding she needed to come back home. it was different without her friends being able to do what they used to. it was all fun and games.. now it's over.

everyone grew up -- a few of the band members were engaged, others were too busy with their actual careers, child and more to carry on with the band. joey's just the drummer. she can't run the whole show by herself.

hiii ....

has returned to fairford after around 7 years to live full time, not counting vacations / family visits during holidays.

lives in a run down fixer upper in mountainside she got for cheap, and is slowly working on fixing it up as she has the time and energy. it's good stress relief and frankly she's kinda good at it. has an eye for design and all that. she loves sims.

is a bartender a few nights a week at the daring daqiuri. she's not a huge people person so it isn't her favorite thing in the world, but she's funny and charming in a fucked up way so people kind of like her, she hopes.

has a bit of resentment to her friends and it shows. the band is definitely tainted, bitter and angry about it. she thought they were in this together. the big leagues. but they all decided to .. quiet. she doesn't think she could ever forgive them for it, despite that being a bit... not rational.

other stuff

has never met her mother and doesn't have anything of hers. has vague memories of her previous foster parents before her dads, some photos and mementos but that's about it. she's curious but also terrified as to what she might find. it's not out of the question, but she's not going to chase a dream she wants crushed. 

had a bit of a wild child streak in her teenage years. definitely did things she wouldn't supposed to ...... and dealt with the consequences.

she's sexually fluid and has been with anyone who she's found attractive. it doesn't matter to her -- she cares more about the connection than anything else. 

kind of guarded and jaded, but if she loves you, she fucking looooves you. puppy dog kind of love.

Lucy’s Encounters with the Criminal Underworld ~ Part 3

Lucycoms introduced crime stories to keep plotlines exciting and contemporary. Here’s a look at the thieves, burglars, robbers, murderers, prowlers, second-story men, mobsters, forgers, counterfeitters, and con artists in the Lucyverse!

“Lucy’s Impossible Mission” (1968) ~ In this parody of “Mission: Impossible” (a Desilu / Paramount production), Lucy Carter fights international espionage in the persons of Mulhill Omar (Tim Herbert) and  Ambassador Korlik of the Slobtoni Embassy (Joseph Ruskin). 

“Guess Who Owes Lucy $23.50?” (1968) ~ It’s Van Johnson!  Or is it?  Lucy loans the film star money to fix his car – but the man turns out to be a con-man posing as Johnson. 

“Lucy and the Ex-Con” (1969) ~ The Unique Employment Agency sends Rocky (Wally Cox), a reformed safe cracker, on an assignment as a janitor. When the place is robbed, Rocky is the number one suspect. Disguised as old ladies, Lucy and Rocky go undercover to catch the real crook...     

...Doc Morgan (Bruce Gordon). Morgan is nicknamed Doc because he uses a stethoscope when safe cracking. Bruce Gordon had played mobster Frank Nitti on Desilu’s “The Untouchables” (1959-63). 

“Lucy and the Great Airport Chase” (1969) ~ Filmed on location at Los Angeles International Airport, Lucy and Harry elude dangerous spies Enemy Agent Yang (Larry Duran) and Enemy Agent Kurt (Sid Haig). 

“A Date for Lucy” (1969) ~ Caesar Romero plays jewel thief Tony Rivera, Lucy’s date for a soiree at which he plans to steal the gems of a wealthy dowager. After Rivera is knocked out cold, Lady Warren (Barbara Morrison) discovers she’s been robbed. When Lucy tells her who it was, she can’t believe it. 

“He’s so charming! He’s so handsome!  He looks just like Cesar Romero!”

“Lucy Gets Her Man” (1969) ~ Harry’s old Army buddy is working in Counter-Intelligence and needs a stenographer to help get the goods on suspected spy Arthur Vermillion (Victor Buono). Naturally, Lucy gets the assignment. Isabel (Mary Wickes) calls Harry Jack the Ripper, comparing him to the famous London serial killer.

Lucille Ball and Victor Buono were both featured in “Like Hep!”, a Dinah Shore special that aired a few months after this episode. In it, Ball did a variety of sketches, including one set in a speakeasy with Buono as a mob boss. On television, Buono is probably best remembered for playing King Tut, one of the arch villains on “Batman” (1966-68). 

“Lucy’s Burglar Alarm” (1969) ~ When Lucy and the kids are robbed and Harry refuses to fund a $500 burglar alarm, Craig comes up with an elaborate home alarm system. Guy Marks plays the well-dressed crook. 

“Lucy and Viv Visit Tijuana” (1970) ~ On a sightseeing trip to Mexico, Harry is convinced by shopkeeper / smuggler Pedro (Don Diamond) to transport a stuffed animal over the border, claiming it is for his 3 year-old niece living in Los Angeles. Stopped at the border, they discover it actually contains contraband. 

“Lucy and Wally Cox” (1970) ~ Lucy and Wally are assigned to be security guards at a warehouse, where they encounter armed robbers Lefty Logan (X Brands) and Baby Face Johnson (Gil Perkins). 

“Lucy and Ma Parker” (1970) ~ When a woman and two children mysteriously move in next door, Lucy discovers that they're a band of criminals led by Ma Parker (Carole Cook). Her cohorts are little people dressed as archetypal children: Herman Golub (Billy Curtis) is dressed as Buster Brown, and Milton / Mildred (Jerry Maren) is dressed as Shirley Temple. 

Lucy is recruited to impersonate Ma Parker and help nab dangerous Chicago mobsters Muggsy (Boyd ‘Red’ Morgan) and Joe Grapefruit (Marc Lawrence).     

The title character is a parody of Kate 'Ma' Barker (inset), the mother of several criminals who ran the Barker gang in the 1930s. She traveled with her sons during their criminal careers.  

“Lucy and Harry’s Italian Bombshell” (1971) ~ When Lucy and Kim sleep at the office, they encounter a burglar (Herbie Faye). Instead of robbing them, the he actually gives Kim and Lucy five dollars!  

“Lucy and Mannix are Held Hostage” (1971) ~ Mannix (Mike Connors) and Lucy are taken hostage by Vernon (John Doucette) and Ruby (Marc Lawrence). 

“Lucy and the Candid Camera” (1971) ~ Allen Funt, host of TV’s “Candid Camera”, plays himself and his con-man doppelganger. 

As the con-man, he convinces the Carters to rob a fur salon, then a bank - all under the impression they are pranks for the TV show. 

“Lucy and the Little Old Lady” (1971) ~ When Mrs. Brady, a kindly widow from out of town (Helen Hayes), comes to the Unique Employment Agency looking for a part-time job, Kim becomes suspicious that she may be running a con game so they plan to hold a fake séance to expose her. The character Hayes plays here capitalizes on her Oscar-winning role of Ada Quonsett in Airport (1970), a sweet little old lady who cons the airlines and stows away to get free air travel. On “Here’s Lucy” the plot relies on the premise that Mrs. Brady could be a con artist.  

“Lucy and the Reckless Wheelchair Driver” (1972) ~ Hickey, a show business agent (Jesse White), tries to sue Lucy for hitting his client with her wheelchair. Lucy and Harry think the young man is faking and that the agent is a con artist.  

“Dirty Gertie” (1972) ~ In this story based on A Pocketful of Miracles, Lucy is mistaken for an apple peddler who just happens to be the good luck charm of Rocky (Bruce Gordon), a mob boss. The police recruit Lucy to help capture the mobster in his own nightclub. Johnny Silver plays Benny, one of Rocky’s mob. 

Other mobsters include ‘Moose’ Murdock (John Harmon) and ‘Numbers’ Smith (Ed Hall). 

“My Fair Buzzi” (1972) ~ Kim’s shy and awkward friend Annie Whipple (Ruth Buzzi) comes out of her shell in order to audition for a 1920s revue in which Harry plays a mobster named ‘Big Jake’. 

“Lucy Goes To Prison” (1973) ~ Lucy goes undercover as a convict to get information out of bank robber Mumsie Westcott (Elsa Lanchester).

“Lucy Plays Cops and Robbers” (1973) ~ Lucy forms a neighborhood watch group and starts seeing criminals where there are none. After several false alarms to the local police, a real burglar (Gino Conforti) actually shows up!  

“Lucy the Sheriff” (1974) ~ Lucy finds out that her grandmother was the first woman sheriff of a Montana town that is celebrating its centennial. She is asked to play her grandmother at the celebrations, which include the recreation of a bank robbery. Lucy is enjoying playing lawmaker until Jake (Cliff Osmond) and Rusty (John Craig), a couple of genuine robbers, interrupt the celebration and take her hostage!

Okay I just added Brooklyn from A Touch of Magic to my growing Barbie collection. Now I have Brooklyn, Teresa and Rocki (ATOM versions), so I just need Malibu and maybe I’ll end up getting the set that has Chelsea as well.

I also got Ava from Unicorn Academy, and I love her! She doesn’t fit the cheap stands I have, so she’s chillin on the ledge right now. I’ll have to go get some more metal ones at Michael’s soon.
