OPERACIÓN TRIUNFO

So, this one is gonna be a big one. I’m gonna put my post both under “#spanishmaravillas” and “#typicalspanish” because it’s such an important thing in Spanish culture and also is about singing, so I can kill to birds with one stone.

So, Operación Triunfo (”Operation Triumph”) or OT is a Spanish singing contest. But it’s more than that. It all started on 2001, to choose the one who would represent Spain in Eurovision in 2002. It was BIG. Like, the final gala (I don’t know how to translate this, it was the program were they sung the song they had prepared all week) had nearly 60% of share. That means 60% of Spain watched it. It was SO massive, and it started the careers of some of the most successful artists in Spain. It went until 2011, when it started a hiatus that lasted until 2017, where it came back and it boomed again. Right now we have two editions, OT 2017 and 2018, and they own my life I swear. Their contestants have been really influential in Spain’s young ones, and their music is always at the top of the charts. Actually, many of them have already appear in Skam España.

Now I’ll talk more in-depth about the program and what makes it so special (it’s kinda a mix between a normal singing contest and Great Brother) and about each of the contestants, so you can learn more about them!

14 / 06 / 2020 : Updated it with the contestants of OT 2020 and also some data of what the other contestants have been up to. I’ve also changed some photos for more recent ones.

So, first of all, the mechanics. So, each week they give the 16 contestants songs that they have to cover (sometimes it’s in duets and others in solitary). That week’s gala there are two nominees, and also an expulsed one. The two nominees always perform solo and with a song they choose and the audience votes for who goes away and who stays. The final happens when 5 contestants remain, and the winner gets 100.000€. Before the hiatus the three first had the opportunity to have an album, but now nearly all 16 contestants have a single and an album afterwards, regarding of their position in the contest. Also there’s a special gala for Eurovision selection.

So, what happens the rest of the week? They all live in an Academy, cut off from the outside world, with no wi-fi, no phones, no anything. Every day they have different classes that help them, and they also have to try and live all in peace. And this is the best aspect of the program, you can watch them at all times in a 24 h livestream in YouTube. You can attend the classes, you can eat with them, or just watch them trying their hardest to achieve their goals for each week. So they become part of you, you start comprehending each and every one of them, they become part of your daily life. And that’s the best thing about OT. You feel like one of them. Also the 16 contestants end up forming a big family, and they become so wholesome and amazing.

Let’s go through all the contestants, I’ll review them from last to first place, first OT 2017, then OT 2018 and OT 2020, with their best song (in my opinion) during the contest and a single of them if they have one; and what they’ve been up to. I could talk about each and every one of them all day, but I’ll try to be as brief as I can.

OT 2017

16. MIMI

She is also a dancer and participated in another contest, “Fama” (Fame), aimed towards dancers. Her only solo song during the program was “A-yo”

Now she is BIG. She formed this group called Lola Índigo, and she is killing it with her innovative music, aimed to be danced. My favourite song of her is “Mujer Bruja” (Woman Witch)

-As of June 2020 she has won three music awards: 2019 Los40 Music Awards for Best Music Video (for “Me Quedo” ft Aitana) and New Artist; and 2019 MTV Europe Music Awards for Spanish Artist of the Year. Also, several of her singles have records: “Ya No Quiero Ná” is 3 times platinum, “Mujer Bruja” 2 times platinum, “Maldición” is gold, “Lola Bunny” is platinum, “Me Quedo” is platinum, and “4 Besos” is gold.

15. JUAN ANTONIO:

He is a gypsy living in Bilbao, and as such, his sound is really “flamenco”-ish. His best song was also his last, “A puro dolor”.

About his post-OT success...well, he is not the biggest, definitely. He has a single, though, “No te echo de menos”.

-As of June 2020, he is a soon-to-be father for the first time!!!

14. THALÍA:

I don’t have much to say about her. It’s probably my least liked contestant of both OT 2017 and OT 2017, sorry. Her best song, though, was amazing: “Cenizas”.

About her single...it’s also my least favourite honestly. It’s called “Quién Quiero Ser”.

13. MARINA

She is one of my favourites, she’s amazing, both as a person and as a singer. Like, completely. She also made history, as the first time in Spanish public TV that a kiss with a trans person was shown on camera was when her boyfriend Bast, transexual, visited her for the gala she was nominated in. She’s also a really big LGBT+ rights activist.

This is for me her best song, a duet with another contestant (yes, it’s the same person, it’s just that she changes a lot of hair), “Don’t dream it’s over”.

Now she’s called Marina Jade, and her single is honestly one of the best ones, and the only one in English, “Drinking like i’m sober”.

12. RICKY MERINO

Ricky was the senior this OT, and he’s a complete showman. Now he appears in a lot of Spanish TV programs, and he even appeared in the following OT as one of the hosts of a thing called “OT Chat”. His best song was this one, “Let me entertain you”.

He’s openly gay, and his first single is really sexual. It’s called “Miénteme”.

-As of June 2020, in OT 2020 he was the sole presenter of the OT Chat, and he is one of the candidates to be the new presenter of a future OT edition now that Roberto Leal, the presenter for the last three OT editions, is doing a new program.

11. MIREYA:

She’s a model, and she’s from the south, having Flamenco roots, and her music reflects that. Her best song was her last one, one of the best of the contest, “Ni un paso atrás”.

She was the first to release an album (pretty good tbh) and her first single was “Corazón Vendío”.

10. RAOUL:

Fun fact, he graduated in my school hehe. His best song is “Million Reasons”.

He’s the only one of OT 2017 that doesn’t have a single out yet, but he did a collab with Belén Aguilera.

-As of June 2020, he released his first single, “Estaré Ahí” (”I’ll Be There”).

9. CEPEDA:

He’s probably the most...polemic OT contestant. He was nominated 5 times, 4 in a row, and he was always saved by his raging legion of fans, that still continue to be really powerful to this day. Also, he was in a relationship for some time with another contestant, Aitana. For me, his best song was this one, “Quién”.

He’s already released an album (not as bad as one would think), and his single it’s actually really solid, “Esta Vez” (”This Time”).

-As of June 2020, he is announced his second album, with a brand new single, “Gentleman”, his first album, “Principios”, is platinum, and also “Esta Vez”.

8.NEREA:

Nerea has probably the best female voice in OT 2017, and she was also the youngest one! Her best song there has to be the song that should’ve won Eurovision 2012, “Quédate Conmigo”.

Now she’s the most hard-working of the contestants, she is starring in the amazing musical “La Llamada” ("Holy Camp, check the movie on Netflix!) [I actually saw her there, she’s amazing] and has also dubbed some films. She has released two singles, her last one is “Tu Segunda Opción” (”Your Second Plate”).

-As of June 2020, she is still working in “La Llamada”, and has released a christmas EP.

7.ROI:

He was the funny guy at the academy, and everyone loved him for that. His best song has to be a duet of “Shape of You” tho.

Now he is in a radio program and also has released an album (really solid). His singles are also pretty good, his last one was “Plumas”.

6.AGONEY:

He had the best voice in OT 2017 out of all of the contestants, and he was kinda a diva, being openly gay too and a LGBT+ icon. His best song is also (in my opinion) the best song from OT 2017, “Eloise”.

His single is called “Quizás” (”Maybe”).

-As of June 2020, he’s about to release his first album, produced by Jaime Altozano, a music genius and youtuber really respected in Spain. He’s also released two more singles, “Black” and “Libertad” (”Freedom”).

5.ANA GUERRA

I really didn’t like her much tbh sorry. She was also called “Ana War” (Guerra means War) so that’s that. Also her best song has become a hymn of OT 2017, “La Bikina”.

Now she has released a full album and some singles, the most known one is “Bajito”.

-As of June 2020, one of her singles, “Ni La Hora”, has become five times platinum, as well as her collab with Aitana, “Lo Malo”, and won the award of New Artist with Aitana in the 2018 Los40 Music Awards.

4. ALFRED

MY BOY. One of my favourites for sure. He went to Eurovision with another contestant, and you Skam España fans already know him for “Wonder”. He has anxiety and he had an anxiety attack in one of the galas. Also, he was in a relationship with Amaia, another contestant. He is a really important social activist, talking about MIs and collaborating with various NGOs.

His best song was this one, “Sign of the Times”.

He’s released (for me) the best album of the OT 2017 contestants, “1016″ (go listen to it, it’s amazing) and his single is also amazing, “De la Tierra hasta Marte” (”From Earth to Mars”).

-As of June 2020, he achieved the gold record status with “1016″ and with “De la Tierra hasta Marte”, and he became the first Spanish artist to have all the 16 songs of the record in the 200 Top Songs Chart on the first day of releasing.

3. MIRIAM:

MY GIRL. She was my favourite contestant, and I love her so much. People call her “leona” (lioness) because of her looks and fierceness, and she’s amazing. Also I’m really happy for her because right now she seems totally immersed in Spain’s music scene, it totally looks like she has been doing this for years. Her best song for me has to be the one she sung in the final, “Invisible”:

As I’ve said, she looks totally immersed in Spain’s music scene. She released an amazing album, “Cicatrices” (”Scars”) with incredible songs, and she has even assisted a coach in The Voice Spain. My favourite single of her has to be “No”, alongside Pablo López (the coach she assisted, and also contestant of OT 2002).

-As of June 2020, she has recently released her second album, “La Dirección de Tu Suerte” (”The Direction of Your Luck”), also really good; being the first one in OT 2017 to do so, and her first album and the singles “Hay Algo En Mí” and “No” have been awarded with gold records. She also won the Cadena Dial Prize in 2019. Her latest singles, from her second album, are “Desperté” (”I Woke Up”) and “No Sé Quién Soy” (”I Don’t Know Who I Am”).

2.AITANA:

You may also know her if you follow Skam España character profiles, as she made a cameo on there. Her best song during the contest was “Procuro Olvidarte”.

And now she’s the most known of the contestants, having the most commercial and mainstream success. I don’t really like the music she’s doing, but she’s very successful and she deserves it!. Her last song wasn’t that bad, and it has Fernando Lindez in the music video! It’s called “Nada Sale Mal” (”Nothing Goes Wrong”).

-As of June 2020, as I said, “Lo Malo” is five times platinum. Apart from that one, “Teléfono” is four times platinum, “Vas A Quedarte” is three times platinum her first EP, “Presiento”, a collab with Morat, is two times platinum, “Nada Sale Mal” is gold, “Con La Miel En Los Labios” is platinum, “+” with Cali y el Dandee is two times platinum, “Si Tú La Quieres” with David Bisbal is gold, “Trailer” is platinum, and her first album “Spoiler”, is gold. She was also one of the 10 artists most listened to during 2019. Like Miriam, she was an assistant in The Voice Spain, this time in The Voice Kids. She also was the face of Stradivarius in Spain; and has won several awards: in 2018 Los40 Music Awards new artist with Ana Guerra, in the 2019 Kids Choice Awards Best Spanish Artist, in the 2020 Odeón Awards Best New Artist, and in 2020 Dial Awards Best Artist. She was also nominated in the 2019 Latin Grammy Awards for best new artist. So yeah, she’s really successful.

1.AMAIA:

The winner of OT 2017 and Spain’s representant, with Alfred, her boyfriend at that time, in Eurovision 2018. She’s become somewhat of a feminist icon after refusing to shave her armpits. Her best performance was the one at the final, “Miedo” (please also watch her cover of “Shake it out”, I’m only putting one of their songs but it’s amazing and it’s a close tie between that song and “Miedo”).

She’s released a single, so beautiful and delicate that I’m in awe with it. It’s called “El Relámpago” (”The Lightning”).

-As of June 2020, she released her first album, “Pero No Pasa Nada” (”But Nothing Happens”, it is an expression, it kinda translates to “Don’t Worry, All Is Good”); which I really like. She’s also sung twice in the Royal Auditorium, which a really big honour reserved to few; and she’s sung also twice in the Goya Awards, which are basically the Spanish Oscars. Finally, a month ago she released a documentary on the process of making the album called “Una Vuelta Al Sol” (”A Lap Around the Sun”).

OT 2018

16. ALFONSO:

He’s Venezuelan, and is married to a guy (I don’t remember his name sorry). He really likes latin music, and his best song was the one of the first gala of all, “Pégate”.

He has a couple of singles out, his first one is “Nadie Te Va A Querer” (”No One Is Gonna Like You”), I’m not a big fan of latin music, but his stuff is really good!

15. ÁFRICA:

She has one of the best voices out of the contestants, but was also the most hated by the fans and that’s why she was second to last (people thought she was bullying another contestant. Funnily enough, that contestant is now her boyfriend and they are the cutest pair ever istg). Her best song is “God is a woman”.

Her single is called “Por Tu Fuego” (”For Your Fire”).

-As of June 2020, Damion and her are still together, they are the couple formed in OT that has lasted the longest!!! They also released a collab!

14. JOAN:

He’s a sports instructor, and is also referred as the “Spain’s ass” (move aside, Captain America). His best song was “Bed I made”.

He has a couple of singles, his last one being “Otra Fase” (”Another Phase”).

13. DAVE:

Yes, he looks just like Miguel from “Coco”. He is from Cádiz, and just because of that he has roots in “Flamenco”, although he likes more romantic ballads from great lyricists. He’s also an actor, and also writes poetry. He’s honestly awesome, and was the funny guy of the Academy. His best song was “Rock and Roll Bumerang”.

His single is amazing and heavily underrated, just like him; it’s called “Qué Suerte La Mía” (”What Luck I Have”). Also, the city featured in the music video is his hometown, Cádiz!

-As of June 2020, he’s released his own poetry book, which is actually pretty good and appreciated (Ana Guerra, Aitana and Alfred have also released books, but they were not very well received). It’s called “Un Poeta En Silencio” (”A Poet In Silence”) in case you want to read it!

12. DAMION FROST:

He’s German but was raised in the Canary Islands, and he was kinda known previous to him entering the contest because he sung in the streets of Madrid for money, and people had actually commented on the amazing singer he was previously. He loves Ed Sheeran, and his singing style is really similar to his. Also, he’s África’s boyfriend. His best song was “Give me love”.

He has released some singles, mostly in English. His most well known song is “Push It On Me”.

11. NOELIA:

She was the best female voice of OT 2018, and a really nice person overall. She was in a gospel chorus, and she’s amazing. Her best performance was with “Stone Cold”.

Her single is called “En Ruinas” (”In Ruins”).

10. CARLOS RIGHT

Carlos...is probably my least favourite contestant of this edition, sorry. He is just a bit like a fuckboy, although to be honest, just like the rest of contestants in the edition, he has also shown to have really great values. He was the master prankster in the Academy. His best performance was a duet, “El ataque de las chicas cocodrilo”.

He actually has already an album and a single, the first one in his edition to do so. Here’s the single, “Se te nota” (”It Shows”).

-As of June 2020, he’s on the process of making his second album, and he’s already released a single of that new album, “Prisionero” (”Prisoner”)!

9.MARILIA:

Marilia is the youngest of the contestants, and she is the definition of Sweetness. Like look at her, she’s adorable. Her best song from the contest was “María se bebe las calles”.

Her single is called “Algarabía” (Deepl translates it to “Hullabaloo” lol). Also, in her single you can see a bit of her homeland, the island of Gran Canaria, in the Canary Islands!

8.MARÍA:

María is the most polemic contestant of the edition, because she has a really punk and irreverent attitude that many people don’t understand. She’s the senior of the contestants, and she’s a bisexual icon. Her best song was “Voy en un coche” (I won’t put the gala performance because she actually had a mistake with the lyrics, so this is one of the “pases the micros” or “mic passes”, where they perform the song with all the teachers so they can see how it’s going and what they can improve, that’s why the video is so long).

She now goes by “María Escarmiento”, and has some singles out, and all of her music videos are made by her boyfriend, Pablo Amores. Her latest release is “Chulo” (”Pimp”).

7.MARTA SANGO:

MY GIRL. She’s one of my favourites of this edition (I had in total 3 favourites, I can’t choose between them). She loves 80s music, and she’s amazing. Her best song was “One More Try”.

Also, she actually just started working in “La Llamada” as well (”La Llamada” is a musical made by two OT teachers, that’s why there are so many OT contestants there hehe). Her single is “Por Ti” (”For You”), really really underrated.

-As June 2020, she’s still working in “La Llamada”!

6. MIKI

You probably know him already. He went to Eurovision this year with “La Venda”, and he was amazing, just as he is. His best song in OT was “Una Lluna A L’Aigua”.

Also, for those of you who don’t watch Eurovision, here was Miki’s performance at the final. His first single, apart from “La Venda”, was “Celébrate” (”Celebrate Yourself”).

-As of OT 2020, he has already released an album, “Amuza”, that is really good, and has released another single during the COVID-19 pandemic, “Me Vale” (”It Works For Me”), that he even got to sing during OT 2020 with one of the contestants! Also, going back to the pandemic, he released a version of (in my opinion) his best song, Escriurem (”We’ll write”, it’s in Catalan), with a lot of other artists (some of them contestants of OT 2018!) and all of the benefits were donated in helping fighting back the virus.

5. SABELA

MY GALICIAN QUEEN. She’s also one of my 3 favourites, and the most Galician person ever. She also does music therapy, and is like the “mum” of the OT 2018 contestants. Her best performance in OT was “El Cuarto de Tula” (also note that she changed the lyrics in every concert of the tour to fit each of the cities and I just find that amazing).

Her first single was “Despedida” (”Goodbye”), that was actually featured in Skam España’s season 3!!!

-As of June 2020, she’s released an album, “Despedida”, imo pretty good and underrated!

4. JULIA:

Even though Dave’s the funny guy of the edition, she’s the funniest person, point. She’s amazing, and also from Cádiz! Her best song was “90 Minutos”.

Her first single is “Dime” (”Tell Me”).

-As of June 2020, she has released an album, “No Dejo de Bailar” (”I Don’t Stop Dancing”), a pretty solid album imo, which includes a collab with Carmen Boza, the person she most admires in the whole world (honestly, she talked constantly about her in the Academy lol), so that’s amazing! Also, last week she released a new song from a possible second album!

3. NATALIA:

She’s the complete artist istg. She sings, dances, acts, and she even has amazing morals, she has everything!. And she had already a song released previously to OT (go check it out, it’s called “Don’t Ask”). She really likes Billie Eilish and that type of songs, and she’s also a bisexual icon. Her best performance has to go to “Seven Nation Army” though.

Her first single is for me the best single to ever come out of OT and now one of my favourite songs ever, “Nana Triste” (”Sad Lullaby”), featuring Guitarricadelafuente.

-As of June 2020, she has released two EPs, both fucking amazing: “Otras Alas”, that is a golden record, and “ep2″. Also, “Nana Triste” is now platinum! Just to get you a taste of how her music sounds, this is “Tarántula” (”Tarantula”), one of her singles from “Otras Alas” (that was featured in Skam España’s season 3!); and here “A Otro Lado” (” Another Way”), from “ep2″.

2. ALBA RECHE:

MY QUEEN. She’s also an artist, and she’s the most socially implicated of all of the contestants, being both a feminist and LGBT+ (bisexual) activist, being in a lot of campaigns and actually giving a concert on March 8. She has many great songs in the contest, but the best one has to go to “She Used to Be Mine” (also please go watch her cover of “La Llorona”, and “Creep”, they’re amazing)

She has a couple of singles, her last one being “quimera” (”Chimera”).

-As of June 2020, she’s released an album, “Quimera”, that’s absolutely amazing, the best one of the edition imo (all of the songs have names related to mythology!!! how cool is that!), plus a track by track about the album. She was nominated in the 2020 Odeon Awards and actually performed there, and won the 2019 Emprén Dona award, an award destined to amazing women in Spain, for her social activism. For example, one of the songs in the album, “lux”, talks about the villainization in the media of sa victims.

1.FAMOUS

Yup, that’s his name. This Amsterdam-born, Nigerian, Sevilla-raised, 1,90 meters baby won OT 2018. And he deserved it. His best performance was also his final one, “And I’m telling you I’m not going” (but please, go watch his “Uptown Funk” and “September” covers, they are amazing). Oh, and he’s also in “La Llamada” (as God himself, I might add)

He’s released a couple of singles, his last one being “Hoy Ya No” (”Today No More”).

OT 2020

16. ARIADNA

She was one of the best voices this edition, but, just like what happened with África, she was expelled for her attitude, not by her singing abilities. She’s also a bi icon! Her best song during the contest was her last, “You Know I’m No Good”.

Her single is amazing, it’s called “Al Santo Equivocado” (”To the Wrong Saint”). Notice that all contestants of OT 2020 released a single during the contest, as they changed a bit the rules, focusing more on composing and stuff (which was a great thing to do imo!) That’s why you’ll only see mostly video lyrics of them, instead of full fledged music videos.

15. ELI

She was the most polemic contestant of the edition because of her attitude, and was expelled with a lot of hate (this, sadly, will be a common trope with this edition, as you’ll see). She loves rap and urban music. She’s also lesbian! Her best performance was her last one, “Mama Do (Uh Oh, Uh Oh)”.

Her single is one of the few with an actual music video, “Miénteme Lento” (”Lie To Me Slowly”).

14. NICK

I’m sorry, but he was my least liked contestant of the edition, he was just... too intense and energetic. Like, really over the top. He’s also an orphan. His best performance was “Jealous”.

His single also has a music video, “Historias Robadas” (”Robbed Stories”).

13. JAVY

My otaku boy. He’s just the most amazing person ever, he’s a complete ray of sunshine. Also, yes, he’s the first contestant to be openly an otaku lol. And, he’s the first of “the triplets”, three guys that in the beginning we couldn’t even pick apart. Thankfully, it was soon clear how different they are one from another. Anyway, his best performance was this duet, “Te Espero Aquí”.

He was the first one to release a single, and imo it’s the best one of the edition, it’s just fucking incredible, and it talks about women empowerment so that’s always great! It’s called “Qué Sabrá Neruda” (”What Does Neruda Know”) and he was actually the best national debut of 2020 with this song!

12. ANNE

MY GIRL! She was my favourite contestant of this edition, and she has one of the most beautiful voices ever. She’s also really kind and overall a really amazing human being, and is now the girlfriend of one of the contestants, Gèrard! Fun fact, the first time she sung in public was in the castings, and the first time she sung on a stage was in the first gala of OT. Also, she’s bi! Sadly, she was expelled by hate cause she sometimes slept during classes (of course not intentionally). Her best performance was this duet, “Another Love”.

Her single is simply amazing, “Salté” (”I Jumped”) and, apart from that one, she is the first one to release a second single, this one with a music video, “Volver A Mí” (”Going Back To Me”).

11. RAFA

Rafa was basically the funny guy, just like Roi and Dave. He always had a smile on and was there to cheer everyone. He’s also one of “the triplets”. His best performance was “Cojo El Saco Y Me Retiro”, his last one.

His single, “Díselo a la Vida”, is also the hymn of OT 2020! He’s also the first one to have a planned tour ahead!

10. JESÚS

The final of “the triplets”, he was also a really polemic contestant because of his hot-headedness and his constant bickering with other contestants. He’s from Cádiz, so his style has a lot of flamenco influence, and he also loves Cádiz’s Carnival. Of course, he was also expelled with a lot of hate. His best performance was this duet, “Tu Frialdad”.

His single is called “Me Sabe A Sal” (”It Tastes Like Salt”).

9. GÈRARD RODRÍGUEZ

My favorite guy of the edition, and my second overall! He’s an introvert, with some troubles expressing while singing. He also plays the guitar and studied Music professionally, so he knows a lot about music in general. He’s also an amazing person, with beautiful values, and, just as I said before, he’s Anne’s boyfriend! His best performance (this is strongly my opinion cause I really fucking love this song and I think the performance is widely underrated, it’s one of my favourites of the whole contest) was Prometo.

He was the last one to release a single, “Fugaces” (”Fleeting”).

8. BRUNO

He is from Uruguay but living in Madrid, and he is the most beautiful human being of the edition, he has the most amazing values and is really socially forwards, helping with the rationing of food during the COVID-19 pandemic. He is also a percussionist and, in fact, was in a percussionist group prior to OT. His best performance was “Llegué Hasta Tí”.

His single is “Fugitivos” (”Fugitives”).

7.SAMANTHA

Samantha is the most iconic contestant of the edition, being really dramatic but also really positive and, most of all, really blunt, she has no filter. Anyways, she’s also partially deaf (she only has a 40% of audition I believe) so it was amazing seeing how she struggles and finds a way of being a partially deaf singer. Her best performance imo was “La Lista de la Compra”, a duet with Rafa.

Her single is “Sin Más” (it’s an Spanish expression, would translate roughly to “Meh”).

6. MAIALEN

She is a literal ray of sunshine, look at her!!! She is the cutest person on Earth but, at the same time, the wisest and most amazing human being ever, with very beautiful values and the most socially forward contestant. Previous to OT she was part of a band called “Chica Sobresalto” (”Fright Girl”) who is still her artistic name, a superhero persona with even a super suit she puts on her concerts! She already had an album, “Proyecto Sobresalto”, go listen to it cause it’s incredible. Anyways, her best performance was one of the best of the edition, “Sargento de Hierro”.

Her first single (after OT, of course), is amazing, “Oxitocina” (”Oxytocin”), that tackles female masturbation.

5. HUGO

Hugo is basically a ball of energy, always loud and moving around, which makes him amazing in acting performances. He’s from the south, precisely from Córdoba (fun fact, except for Bruno, all of the guys of this edition are from the south, either from Andalucía, Murcia (Flavio) or Ceuta (Gèrard); so he sings a lot of flamenco. He was also polemic, and he’s Eva’s boyfriend! His best performance was “Genius”.

His single is “Demonios” (”Demons”).

4. ANAJU

Ana Julieta how can you be this gorgeous, it’s not legal! Seriously, I think I might have a crush on her. Anyways, she is my third favourite of the edition, and she is the “mum” of OT 2020. She has had a really tragic life, having cancer when she was a kid, and being a survivor of the 2017 Barcelona terrorist attack. She’s an amazing human being and has the most soothing voice ever. Her best performance was one of the best of the contest, “Nana del Mediterráneo”.

Her first single is “Me Iré” (”I’ll Go Away”), and she designed the cover and the video lyrics, cause she was a graphic designer previous to OT!

3. EVA

She is an actress, and for that she’s really expressive and effusive. She is also really caring of everybody, and did synchronized swimming before OT! She loves old music and, as I said before, she’s Hugo’s girlfriend! Her best performances was “Hoy La Bestia Cena En Casa”.

Her single is “Dumb”, the only one in English!

2. FLAVIO

My boy! Look at that smile, he’s the purest thing ever! Anyways, all of my household stan him, he’s amazing. He’s a pianist, and, just like Gèrard, knows a lot about music and is introverted and really really shy, not speaking much. Also, he has the most amazing and most deep voice ever, he was born to be a crooner. Anyways, his best performance was “Man! I feel like a Woman!”.

His single is fucking amazing, it’s called “Calma” (”Calmed”) which, honestly, resumes his whole persona lol.

1. NIA

A TRUE QUEEN! She is the oldest of the edition, and she worked in the Spanish version of The Lion King musical (I believe she played Nala). She has the best and most contagious laughter ever, and she’s always laughing, although she’s also really self-demanding, and a perfectionist. Also, she’s bisexual! Her best performance was “Run The World (Girls)” (but please watch also “Halo” and “La Despedida”, a duet with Gèrard, they are amazing).
