You feed him the scraps from your old cuts, let him help dress the meat in spices (even though he puts way too much on... you sell them at a reduced cost and only have him stock the spices for customers to purchase), and helps prepare all sorts of cuts for your customers–as long as he promises not to sneak anything. You threaten him with your sharpened butcher's knife when he tries stealing fresh cuts off the back counter and nearly cut off his pinky. You have a crazy enough drive to run the place with only a partner (half blind and bordering on senile so he doesn't question EJ's... anything) and a mean enough attitude to keep up with him and the other freaks that occasionally run through your shop. You always finish the day reeking of blood, so you don't mind the stench of decay that always follows him. He swears he's not in love until he discovers the venison you're so famous for has nothing to do with the deer hunting award plaque hung next to the shop's door, and everything to do with the missing persons in the town over.

A/N. My little headcanons for my favorite headcase <3 These will be updated as I develop him!!

General/Misc.

A tree knocked him unconscious when he set fire to the woods after killing his father. It dug into the gash he'd already torn off of his cheek with his nails and biting through, and got his left eye. He's partially blind in that eye because of it.

... also this is why he has no memory.

Most of his fingers are crooked.

Disorders are BPD, CIPA, Autism, ADHD, and Psychosis as a result of Depression.

Hyperfixated on bugs. Used to have a "field journal" of his bug findings (which was really a diary) as a kid. Knows weird and disturbing bug facts.

Drops all sorts of weird and disturbing facts at the most unconventional of times, and asks bizarre and uncomfortable questions he knows will get him shot like if Masky has ever tried to suck himself off.

fav artists are Slipknot, Rob Zombie, Ayesha Erotica, Lady Gaga, Bad Omens, Loathe, and Broken Iris when feeling tragic.

has once skinned a neighbors dog because for one, he saw it in a movie with a rabbit and wanted to try, and for another he wanted their daughter to stop crushing on him. There really wasn't anything outstanding about her, but he nailed the skin below her window anyway.

Winter is his least favorite season, only because he can never tell when he's getting frostbite.

Fall is a happy medium, so it's his favorite.

he knows he's a cocky dick who is good at anything he puts his mind to. Axe throwing? Check. Hunting?? Check. Brain teasers? Surprisingly.

He loves food, but can't cook to save anyone's life.

[ Premise/Concept ]

You call yourself a "paranormal freelancer."

What else could you call it? A freelance investigator, researcher, exterminator, and searcher of the uncertain, implausible, and unknown.

It's quite the name you've made for yourself. A certain lost puppy sees hope in your metaphorical neon-lit business sign and decides to tag along after winding up hunting for scraps in your kitchen.

Whether you want him to or not doesn't matter--he might just end up becoming your latest job anyway.
