i read somewhere that Jennika was trapped in some alternate dimension, i can't remember where though. But its cannon in my heart anyways

Frida is a red eared slider and Jennika is some kind of snapper -a smaller species than Raph is.

So one thing that’s been living rent-free in my head since I watched the episode „The ancient art of ninja hide and seek“ is this weird hotel room where the brothers have their final showdown of the episode, you know just showing off their newly acquired skills

You know this one.

And it just could have been that the creators thought „hey, let’s just use a random hotel room for this scene“ but the thing that’s been bugging me is that this doesn’t look like a randomly chosen room at all

It doesn’t even look like a regular hotel room

It is hidden behind a secret door and the turtles only get there by pure accident and as we can see in the background that other rooms have regular doors. Heck, this room is so well hidden that even Splinter can’t find the entrance even though he was standing right in front of it.

Another thing is how the room is furnished. It is very blatant that this room isn’t meant for guests to stay in. The entire room has been personalized, there are posters on the wall, we have a car bed and a surfboard, there are vinyl records scattered across the floor and the bed isn’t made. Overall it looks very much lived in.

What I noticed, that was also kind of weird is how accessible the rest of the hotel seems to be from this room as seen with how out of every corner Big Mama‘s goons pop out of more hidden doorways.

The only use I could see in this room is if it was the room of one of the employees because that seems like the only logical answer for this kind of room since who else would need this level of accessibility.

But there is still one more thing. In this episode all of the employees we see on screen are adults and I don’t think it’s the room of any of the goons we see in this episode. Why? Well because this room looks like it belongs to a teenager. The posters, the general messiness and choice in furnishings all don’t give off the vibe of the inhabitant being an adult and look more like how a teenager would decorate and upkeep their room.

My personal headcannon (and explanation) for this room is that this is the room of Big Mama‘s Assistant, you know the person who’s been confirmed to be the turtles missing sister. It would make sense for this to be her room since she’s the only character I can think of that would fit all of the criterias for this room, since A she is employed by Big Mama and it would make sense to keep her room as such separated from the guests rooms but still central to get around the hotel quickly. And B she would be the turtles age, between early and mid- teens, at this point in the story. If this is the case and the room is in fact belonging to the sister (Frida) it would also serve as a nice foreshadowing if the turtles kind of indirectly interacted with their sister before actually meeting her

"Don't worry, Dee, we'll be fiiiine." Mikey said confidently, walking in front of his big brother with a flashlight in hand. "It's not like ghosts can actually hurt us, y'know?"

"Michael. Michael dearest beloved baby brother this place has insane mystic energy readings that weren't here last time and I can't figure out where it's coming from."

"Big Mama has all kinds of mystic junk, it's probably nothing. Or it's the ghosts we're looking for! Either way, we win!"

"I'm not sure that finding the ghosts of people killed in a giant gladiator ring of doom would be considered a 'win', no matter how cool said gladiator ring is."

Mikey laughed. "C'mon, Dee, ghost hunting is fun! Plus, if they try to kill us, you can just blow em up!"

"You do realize ghosts don't work like that, right?"

"They might, you don't know." He quirked a brow.

"We talk to GramGram all the time, Michael. She's very much not physical. She can't get blown up."

"Whatever, we'll figure it out!"

A sudden crash rang in the distance.

"What was that!-" Mikey screeched, leaping a solid three feet into the air.

"I dunno. Do you wanna investigate?"

"Uh, duh, it could be a ghost!"

They crept up to the doorframe, peeking out from behind it tentatively.

A pale figure- a white turtle with light pink and yellow markings wearing dark blue pants- stood in the dimly lit room, using clawed fingers to shatter panes of glass, dancing over the shards effortlessly as they destroyed more and more. Some of the panes were hung up from the ceiling, held at an angle, or otherwise weird. The figure destroyed every single one with practiced ease, moving through a series of flips and twists to accomplish their goal. Once at the end of the course, they turned around, and the glass shards on the floor glowed a pale teal color, floating up to their frames and reassembling perfectly.

"Their eyes are red." Donnie whispered.

"Holy shit…" Mikey whispered back. "You don't think…"

"Oh they're absolutely a ghost. No idea what they're doing but holy shit."

Immediately, the figure's head snapped to them, eyes glinting in the darkness. They flicked their arm, and a blade suddenly appeared in their hand.

"OH FUCK!" Donnie screeched, grabbing Mikey's arm as he turned and ran. "I TAKE EVERYTHING BACK MICHAEL YOU WERE RIGHT GHOSTS CAN FUCK YOUR ASS UP!"

"I TOLD YOU!! I TOLD YOU!!!" Mikey screeched, running alongside his brother. "GO, GO! IT'LL KILL US IF IT GETS US!!!" He wailed.

"I KNOW, I KNOW!! I NEED TO TELL LEO-" Donnie gasped, tears in his eyes. "I NEED TO TELL LEO THAT HE GETS CUSTODY OF SHELLDON. AND I NEED TO SEND HIM ALL OF SHELLEY-BABY'S CARE SHEETS AND BLUEPRINTS AND-"

Mikey grabbed Donnie's face, crying as well. "NO, NO, DONNIE, DON'T THINK LIKE THAT! YOU'LL SEE YOUR SON AGAIN! YOU HAVE TO!"

"And what are you doing in here?"

The duo shrieked, looking for a place to run- ah, hell, they were pinned. Literally backed into a corner, the ghost looming in front of them, blade aimed directly at them, they were doomed!

"We were- we were ghost hunting, I'm sorry, I started it, just kill me!" Mikey sobbed. "He has a son at home, you can't kill a father!" He pointed at Donnie.

The ghost paused. "A father? Aren't you two around my age? You don't look like adults…"

Donnie quickly clarified, "He's a robot, I didn't- He wasn't originally intended to be sentient, but I wouldn't trade him for the world."

"Ah." They still looked confused, but slightly less concerned. "Alright, then."

"It's a shame you died so young." Mikey lamented. "If you weren't a vengeful ghost, we could've been friends!"

"Wh- died so- Did you assume I'm a ghost?!" They spluttered. "Big Mama would never allow freeloading ghosts in her hotel! I'm alive! I'm just albino! Look." They grabbed Mikey's wrist. "Feel that? That's flesh."

"Oh." Mikey blinked. "Waitaminute… if you're alive, we really CAN be friends!" He cheered, flinging his arms around the other turtle. "I'm Mikey!"

"Venus de Milo. Yellow bellied slider, albino, she/they." She pushed him away.

"Oh! Uh, I'm a box turtle, he/they! We match, isn't that fun?" Mikey said cheerfully.

"Donatello. He/it. Apalone Spinifera. I'm Mikey's older brother. If you hurt him, I will kill you." It said cooly, placing a hand on Mikey's shoulder.

Mikey huffed. "Donnie! Threatening people isn't how you make friends!"

"You keep mentioning this 'friendship' thing." Venus said. "I don't do that. I don't have the time to form emotional connections with others. As Big Mama's adopted daughter, I have to train to take over her Nexus and Hotel after she retires."

"WHAT?!" Mikey shrilled, throwing his hands in the air dramatically.

"I said, I'm Big Mama's adopted daughter, and I am being trained to take over her business once she retires." Venus sounded vaguely annoyed.

"Holy truffle Mac and Cheese." Donnie whispered. "Does this make us… I dunno, half siblings? Since your mom was pretty serious with our dad…"

"Perhaps it does. It would be nice to have outside connections I made on my own, even if they are familial ones. Big Mama would at least have to admit I have social skills on lock if I do that." Venus glanced behind her at a giant clock on the wall. "You two need to leave. Dawn approaches rapidly."

"Fine. But we will be back, y'hear?" Donnie pointed at her menacingly.

"Whatever. Just… go." She waved a hand dismissively.

They did.

"So I guess Big Mama wasn't kidding about the Mama part." Mikey said.

Donnie nodded in agreement. "I guess not."

"We should probably tell our family about this."

"Probably. Dad definitely should know."

"Oh, Venus might be from… when he was with Big Mama… He definitely needs to know. So, did you-"

"Record it? Yes, obviously. Say, didn't her face resemble Dad's from back when he was Lou Jitsu? With the pointed chin and all."

"Oh, you're so right!" Mikey gasped. "Do you think they know? About Lou Jitsu?"

"She sure acted like it." Donnie shrugged. "If they are from when Dad was still with Big Mama, though, then they would've been much older than us. Raph included. Also, how would she be a turtle?"

"Oooh, you're right… maybe Yokai age weird? I dunno how she'd be a turtle, though."

"Guess we'll have to ask Draxum."

"YAY!" Mikey cheered, stamping his feet happily. "Let's go right now!!!"

"Sigh. Fine." He pulled out his phone, plugging in an address. "He's close enough to walk to."

"Alright!" Mikey cheered. "I've missed our evil science dad."

"I mostly missed the science part." Donnie snorted.

"I like the dad part." Mikey admitted. "He's just- I like being around him!"

"As is your right."

Oh, would you look at that. They arrived at Draxum's place.

The duo scampered up the wall, claws easily gripping into the brick wall.

Mikey knocked on the window, pressing his squishy little face onto the glass.

A tired Draxum approached, glaring at the turtles outside his apartment. He, reluctantly, opened the window. "What do you want?"

Mikey scampered in, hugging Draxum tightly. Donnie followed calmly, looking at his creator with something between admiration and contempt.

"We met a turtle girl! She's Big Mama's adopted daughter!! Do you know if she's from Dad's relationship with her?" Mikey asked, bouncing on his feet.

Draxum froze.

Donnie raised a brow. "What is it? Do you know her?"

"…Is she albino?"

"Uh-huh! She said she was a yellow bellied pond slider!"

Draxum nodded, swallowing. "She's your sister." He said softly. "I thought she had died in the explosion. If I had even an inkling of her survival, I would have torn the world apart to get her back."

Mikey and Donnie stood frozen, staring at him in shock.

"I didn't tell you because I believed it would only hurt you to know you had a dead sibling- two, technically, you were supposed to be a team of six- and now I wonder if the other turtle had survived."

Mikey stared, eyes massive. "I- we gotta find them." He whispered. "We gotta."

Donnie nodded. "It's highly likely that the other missing turtle has survived. Finding her will be incredibly important to our father, to you, and to our other siblings. I will do anything for them, as you know. I have to look for my sibling."

Draxum nodded, blinking in a way that indicated he was trying not to cry. "I will help you. They're my children as well, and now that I know they're alive I will not rest until I know they're both safe."

Mikey sniffled, and Donnie wrapped his arms around the little turtle. Reluctantly, Draxum joined the hug, holding his children close.

Various pieces of information from the Rise Q&A back in February

It was revealed that there are other Hidden Cities other than the one seen in Rise & there had been plans for the Turtles to visit the Hidden City beneath Tokyo.

2. Splinter was able to use Leo's mystic odachi so easily due to the fact that Splinter had spent a lot of time in the Hidden City & because of this Splinter has a great deal of mystic knowledge, with Splinter also having developed his mystic abilities but he has stopped using those abilities until the events of the series.

3. More information was given about the missing Turtle Siblings & it was stated the Frida, Big Mama's Assistant would have most likely joined her brothers during the future timeline, it was also stated that the other missing Turtle Sibling would have possibly been named Camille after Camille Claudel.

4. When asked on how a Dungeons & Dragons episode would go it was stated that April would be the DM, Raph would be a fighter class, Mikey would be an illusionist, Leo would be an assassin or thief & Donnie would insist on being a scientist since he's sure that there was 'at least one sensible person back then'.

5. The Rise version of Renet could have possibly been used to explore different timelines that might have happened if certain events in the movie had happened differently.

6. After the events of the movie Casey is traveling around the world fighting remnants of the Krang & the Foot Clan.

7. When asked about the Turtle's relationship with Draxum it was stated that in contrast to Mikey who accepted Draxum the most easily, Leo is the most skeptical however it was also stated that Leo would have eventually 'gotten over' his grudge towards Draxum as there were multiple scrapped episodes planned where Leo & Draxum would have been forced to work together.

8. There were plans for the Turtles to eventually go to the Krang's original dimension meaning that it would have been likely for the Turtles to encounter the traditional dimension X/Z stuff such as the Neutrinos.

9. When asked about Casey Junior's relationship with the past/ present version of Leo it was stated that despite it being slightly different due to them being around the same age now Casey Junior can't help but still view Leo as a father figure.

10. It was stated that Splinter has never celebrated the Turtle's Birthdays in the past due to it being to closely related to his negative feelings towards his own mutation however it was also stated that after Splinter's development in the series he would start celebrating the Turtle's Birthday with them.

11. The reason that the Future Version of Leonardo was the one who raised Casey Junior was stated that it was due to the fact that the Future Version of Leonardo had a special affinity for Casey Junior & also felt particularly responsible for Casey Junior after his mother was gone.

12. When asked what the Rise version of Miyamoto Usagi would have been like it was revealed that a possible plan for Usagi was that his home dimension would have been overrun by the Krang causing Usagi to travel to the Turtles dimension for help due to them being the only ones who have ever defeated the Krang.

13. When discussing crossovers between TMNT iterations it was stated that a crossover between Rise & the 1987 cartoon or the 2003 cartoon would have been a possibility due to them also being 2D animated series.

14. April & Sunita were planned to have more 'girls night' episodes together.

It was also stated that Casey would have possibly have developed a dynamic with both April & Sunita so there is also a possibility that Casey would have been included in the 'girls night' episodes with April & Sunita as well.

This is a seperated au that focuses on Leo and how he grows as he learns what "home" is

Not all the parts are gonna be this long, but I wanted a solid start. I don't have an update schedule either, but feel free to ask questions :D

A bit of background if yall want it:

When Splinter drops Leo in the explosion, all he sees is the turtle disappear into smoke as the lab is actively collapsing. He assumed Leo died and left to make sure none of his other turtles got killed.

Draxum picked up Leo and look care of his wounds. Leo has scrapes on both sides of his shell from being stuck in the ground, along with a scar on his right arm. Draxum tried raising Leo for a few years on his own before realising it would benefit both of them if he had help, so he turned to Big Mama.

Bug Mama and her assisstant, Galileo, help raise Leo for years. Gali teaches Leo how to speak, though he still chirps quite often, especially when sad or startled.

A bit of Gali lore: Big Mama had orignally named her Leo when Draxum gave Gali to BM. Gali didn't like having that as her name, so Big Mama helped her find a new one and they settled on Galileo.

Splinter takes the boys to tour the hidden city so they're not caught off guard by mystic stuff and yokai like he was. That's when Mikey spots Leo on TV and Splinter recognizes the son he thought he lost immediatly :)

About the sword comment: I'll reveal more in the comic itself, but Leo and Draxum made a deal that if Leo could prove his strength by winning the Battle Nexus championship 5 times, he'd train Leo with the mystic sword.

How the Battle Nexus works in this au: there are always battles going on, but once during each season, a championship/tournament is held to name a champion.

This is technically Leo's 7th tournament, but 5th victory

I think it’s save to say that the turtle brothers were raised and trained with the intention that in a fight their priority is to protect themselves and their brothers while also not causing lethal damage to their opponent. We see this in several instances, like when Leo accidentally cuts Warren Stone in half everyone is visibly horrified or when they are chasing down Splinter and Meatsweats in their tank the other three don’t hesitate to step in when Donnie wants to use a weapon that would cause excessive harm and they don’t hide their displeasure about it to Donnie either.

I theorize that Frida would be the opposite of that. Why should she care if she causes serious injuries to her opponent? And if she does, good, another reminder why they shouldn‘t have gotten in her way in the first place. Dragging an unnecessary fight out for too long would mean losing precious time that could be spent completing her mission and, what, in favor of someone who just tried to bite her head off? I believe her mentality would be more along the lines of „Your first strike should be your last“.

Them joining forces in a fight would be interesting since it pretty much would be the brothers, who were taught to fight to protect not to cause harm, fighting alongside their sister Frida „killshots-only“ Hamato.
