welcome to the very first glowletter of the year! january is such a soft, hopeful time. a blank page for new routines, gentle habits, and glowing transformations. this month’s glowletter is all about finding magic in the little things, building dreamy routines, and stepping into 2025 with love and intention. this newsletter is a little late, but it took me ages to build. this is going to be a new addition to my blog, a monthly newsletter! this was heavily inspired by an idol of mine @malusokay she's been such a motivator for me when it comes to creating coquette blogs, and her newsletter is absolutely adorable. this newsletter was made from the heart and took ages to plan out. thank you malu for giving me the inspiration to make this <3 - mindy

directions:

Focusing on Positive Energy
I'm having better days. I've made some changes, like spending LESS time on social media and using my phone less in general.
No more using the phone on the toilet! I know it's silly, but let's be honest, that's where most social media consumption happens. Instead, I've put some comic books in the bathroom and now I enjoy reading while "taking care of business."
Tumblr is the only social media platform I still use a bit. It's a safer space, it's slower, and it helps me express my thoughts without having to interact with "people I know."
I need to get my energy and focus back.
In the morning, first things first: meditation.
Then, I go to the gym four times per week to build muscle and get stronger and stronger.
Planning my day also helps, from smaller to bigger tasks. It gives me a sense of control and fulfillment.
And last but not least, I take a lot of walks. Walking in my village, in the calm of the Dutch summer, just me and my audiobooks, calms my nerves.
Whenever bad thoughts come, I repeat my positive affirmations, which I also keep on a note on my phone. So when I'm tempted to go on social media, I open that note instead.
And when things get really bad, I blast some good music and dance around. It might sound silly, but it's scientifically proven that physical activity can improve your mood and give you a bit of endorphins to keep you happy.
So far, this is working pretty well (along with therapy), and my second week of job hunting has been less desperate than the first one.

In a recent article from ADDitude Magazine, Losing Track of Time? 8 Ways to End ADHD Time Blindness, Mareen Dennis, MS LPP, shares eight valuable strategies for managing time blindness, organized under the “ACCURATE” acronym. To give you a quick, actionable summary, I've condensed her insights into five tips that can help you stay on track and regain control of your time:
1. Set Alarms and Use Clocks: Alarms can be used to remind you of tasks and transitions. Keep clocks or other time-tracking tools in sight to help you stay mindful of the time as you move through your day.  2. Create a Visual Schedule: Design a schedule that includes engaging, easy-to-read visuals. This can provide a quick reference point and help you stay organized and on track.  3. Break Tasks into Smaller Chunks: By breaking larger tasks into smaller, more manageable steps, you’ll be able to stay focused and make steady progress without feeling swamped.  4. Establish a Routine: A predictable routine helps you better understand how long tasks will take, making your day more structured and manageable. Consistency can significantly reduce the stress of uncertainty.  5. Make Time-Tracking Fun: Use familiar activities - like songs, TV shows, or movies - as benchmarks for estimating time. You can also try the "estimation game," where you predict how long a task will take and compare your guess to the actual time spent to help you improve your estimation abilities in the future (Dennis, 2024).
By incorporating these strategies into your routine, you can take meaningful steps toward improving your time management skills. Time blindness doesn’t have to dictate how you live your life. With the right tools and mindset, you can overcome it and take charge of your time.
