I mean, to be fair, the happy fluffy stuff is mostly fanon. And then you have something like Grayson, where he's miserable but pretending to be happy because he has to pretend to actually like working at Spyral, and, well, it's divisive, but some people chose to interpret it as him genuinely being happy even in the worst situation.

Happy Dick also is part of a cluster of Dick Grayson fanons. Let's call this one Slutty Dick.

This is actually in line with the common headcanon that he is demisexual.

There's actually more evidence for Dick having a slight bi streak than there is for him sleeping with just any woman:

And he's still demisexual even when Wolfman writes him as bi vague. (This requires a bit of meta explanation. Jericho was supposed to be gay originally, but Wolfman and Perez were worried about the stereotype of gay men being artists. So they did the usual heterosexist thing and gave Joey like, six girlfriends whose names we never actually see, but we still get gay vague moments centered around Joey. Though Titans Hunt is pretty much a "bury your gays" story, and Marv Wolfman does regret it.)

I listed three writers, who are generally not prudes. (And I myself love me some Roy Harper, it's just hard to find non-bat stuff on Tumblr, I don't have a scanner, and I'm not going on Read Comic Online to download fun new malware. Speaking of Roy, that's probably my big issue: I like the arrows, but I don't want the bats to be the arrows.)

So where does the idea that Dick is a womanizer come from?

Another fanon in this cluster is the idea that the Wayne family is just this, maybe not conventional family, but that Bruce is an ideal guardian. At the very least, one must understand that Bruce is abusive. He's hit Dick since the 40s, He parentifies Tim; in fact, that's literally the point of Tim. He Ludovico'd Jason, with literally the same result as A Clockwork Orange. He plays favorites.

Basically when Dick is an eternal optimist, the rest of the cluster comes through.

It allows white to flicker a creature (over two turns) and get it back if it's the controller. White can already do that.

EDH Storytime

So I was playing Commander / EDH at my LGS today. I was playing my Gwendlyn Di Corci discard deck against Karametra, Omnath 2.0, and Damia.

Thanks to a Bloodchief Ascension that survived way too long on the battlefield, I managed to survive to the last two players: Gwendlyn and Damia. I’d foolishly used my Bojuka Bog to exile Omnath’s graveyard on the turn before he died. I should have used it on Damia’s graveyard, because she proceeded to Psychic Spiral and mill me out completely...

Damia controlled a Forced Fruition, which when combined with my Words of Waste and Liliana’s Caress made for a fairly effective clock. (Especially considering Damia’s hand refilling ability.)

However, now that my library was empty, Words of Waste changed from an engine of destruction into a lifeline, so long as I had enough mana to replace my draw I could keep from losing due to drawing from an empty library. Forced Fruition complicated matters, however, making each spell I cast cost essentially an additional seven mana to cast.

So I go to my turn with Damia at 12 life with three cards in hand. I have ten lands. So I pay to replace my draw for the turn, Damia discards to 2 cards and goes to 10 life. I now have only 9 mana available, which means I can only cast a CMC 2 spell, since I need to spend the other 7 to pay for Forced Fruition. In my hand, I have two spells with CMC 2: Asylum Visitor and Chain of Smog. I decide to cast Asylum Visitor since Chain of Smog won’t do anything other than trigger Forced Fruition and controlling more creatures is better, right?

So I cast Asylum Visitor, Damia discards both cards in hand and goes to 6 life. I pass the turn. In Damia’s upkeep, Damia takes 3 damage from my Lavaborn Muse trigger, and then we both realize that... oh s***... Asylum Visitor also triggers and its draw isn’t optional. I’m tapped out with an empty library. I can’t pay to replace the draw. I lose. Because I cast the wrong spell... *sigh*

As you may or may not be able to tell, I’ve been kicking myself about it all day since then... but at least it’s a hell of a story! :D

Just fucking run counters.  If you can’t stop the opponent from doing what they want to do, you don’t get to be mad that the opponent did something they wanted to do.  

Mark if or when a card that says “cards and effects your opponents control cannot cause permanents to return from the battlefield to your hand��? (I hate Cyclonic Rift)

It’s a big if. It’s a very hard rule to write that works properly, but doesn’t cause other problems.
