I've been wanting a book 1 style map with all the book 3 locations shown together for writing purposes, so I took a shot at stitching together the subregion maps onto the larger region map of book 3. Unfortunately the shapes of the different subregions differ slightly between the two scales of map, and don't fit together perfectly, so this is the best approximation I could make without the use of mesh transform which would warp things. Either way, posting in case someone else can make use of it!

thinking about that lonely kid from pennsylvania feeling like he isn't loved, like he's alone and unwanted, like everyone around him thinks he's a burden and a loser, thinking about how every time his parents say his name, it comes out heavy with disapproval and exhaustion. thinking about him jumping around from place to place, state to state, job to job, chasing something, chasing meaning and love and a home he's never had. thinking about that lonely kid from pennsylvania finally finding somewhere that fits, shedding the name that was always a prelude to rejection. but still feeling like there was something missing, still chasing something, always chasing love because it always runs away, walks out, gets on airplane and never comes back. still feeling like he's rejected, like he has to settle, desperate for someone to stay. thinking about that lonely kid from pennslyvania growing up and moving to la and changing his name but never having left that lonely kid behind no matter how hard he's tried. until one day he meets someone who says that lonely kid's name, sounding out every letter, seeing him for who he is, gently taking his face in his face in hands. who shows up for him even when it's hard, with soot on his face and callouses on his hands and feet, just so he doesn't have to be so lonely. thinking about tommy seeing not just buck, but evan for who he is. saying his name not with exhaustion but with purpose and meaning, like he means it. thinking about tommy showing that lonely kid just how easy he is to love.

Having apparently finally finished whatever thing he was probably only pretending to be busy with to make River wait, Spider finally looks at him. “So sorry if you were intending this to be a surprise. Melody at the front desk sent me a message as soon as you arrived,” he says smugly. River shrugs, hoping Spider can’t tell that he is, in fact, a bit disappointed. He’d been looking forward to catching Spider unaware, though not really for any particular reason other than to annoy him. He doesn’t really have any particular reason for being here at all, but sitting around Slough House had felt even more stifling than usual after having been out in the field recently, and Spider’s usually good for getting River’s blood pumping a bit, if nothing else. ------- Spider doesn't die. River pays him a visit.
