Nothing like a #fastfinishrun to get you pumped up for your next run. I cruised along easily today for 4 miles, up and down the rolling hills of #fairfaxcity but as I got close to home, I told myself “let’s put in some work.” Dropped a minute per mile off my pace and then a little more. Once I hit 6 miles I dialed it back for a cooldown. I’m in Week 5 of #basebuilding and I’m feeling stronger than I have in a while. There’s no telling when there will be a race to run but I’m targeting the fall anyway. My coach at @mcmillanrunning says I should be a beast by then. Decided to push my #longrun up to today and get it done since tomorrow is @lynnucla’s birthday. Tomorrow is also what would have been @cucb Day. So that meant I needed to go at least #10miles. Since seeing my #springracingseason come to an abrupt end, I have shifted into #basebuilding mode. So I wasn’t racing today, just keeping it easy and logging the miles. The campus of @georgemasonu was a ghost town, eerie for such a normally busy place this time of year. It’s about 4 miles around campus and I think I saw 2 other people the entire time. Could be a great place to run and ride for a while with so little road traffic. I felt much stronger today than I did last weekend, so I think fitness is improving even as Imake sure to maintain my #socialdistancing.
