“Confidence is a habit not a trait” #fableticspartner 🌊 I’ve been thinking about this since @thesharonkim said this in class on Tuesday... I mean I’ve sat with my thoughts and really contemplated what it meant to me. I’ve never considered myself an overly confident person - in things I’m comfortable with and have done 100 times, sure. But that phrase says that practicing confidence should be something we do daily. I certainly don’t make myself be confident each day. So what does it mean to you? Believing in yourself that you can fight for something impossible. Holding your head and trying something that may have risk. Looking yourself in the mirror and telling yourself you can do it. Signing up for that class. Going on that Bumble date. Moving across the country. KNOWING that you can do anything you put your mind to. Confidence isn’t thinking you’re a badass (but you are 😉), to me, it’s taking your life in your hands and doing something with it. It’s putting your goals and dreams first and telling yourself you’ve got this. Cheesy? Possibly. Corny? Maybe. Confident? 7k Easy & 7k Hills

Last night I ran an easy 7k on the treadmill while watching a new episode of Veronica Mars. I’m LOVING the new season. Topped my run off with a few sprints to start getting the legs ready to move quickly again! Speed training will start next week.

Today I ran a 7k hilly route. It wasn’t my best run. I had a bad day and was in my head a little bit and not really focused on my run. But I got it done and am now going to have a drink or two 🥃

I love running here. It’s so beautiful. And bonus pic of my cute dog.

Saturday Miles

This morning’s run views. It’s been a weird few weeks here - an almost injury (pain in my foot that messed with two weeks of running), a sick dog, lots of general life stress. Training derailed a bit. Plans and expectations changed. I’m no longer viewing Wilmington as a goal race, but instead as my re-entry back into racing. I don’t believe I’m trained well enough to come even close to a PR. I also have no idea what an actual race attempt will feel like at this point since I’ve done no real racing leading up to this one. I’d like to push myself and see what happens, but i also want to be realistic about the lack of training I’ve put in. But hey, there’s always another race (hey, Charleston Half!) and another day.
