The Sea and the Storm is now open for applications!

The sun shines on Bluffclan again. The grueling moons of winter are over, ushered away by a sun whose light now never leaves the sky. The snow that has clung onto the tundra has finally begun to melt away, clearing the path for Bluffclan's journey to their summer camp. In clan mythology, springs heralds growth and new beginnings. Flowers bloom, prey emerges. Prey and predator alike. The cats of the clan are not the only inhabitants of the tundra, nor are they the only ones who see the sun's light as a symbol of growth. The wolves and bears have young to feed, and the clan is direct competition. Bluffclan has been given two choices -- get out of the way, or find themselves caught between a predator's jaws. Hungry and afraid, the clan turns to nonexistent authority. Lynxstar does what she can to keep the clan together, but even best laid plans often go awry. Her leadership is in its infancy still; many of Bluffclan's senior members cannot reconcile with the fact their future lies in her paws now. The sun shines on Bluffclan again. Does it beckon a new dawn, or is it the last sunrise the cats of the tundra will ever bear witness to?

Faced with an empty council and predators snapping at their heels, Bluffclan survives on instinct alone. Many have decided to flee, families split as some leave for safer lands. Others still choose to fight, lashing out at the world with fury that cannot be taken from them. Most remain frozen and panicked, paralyzed with fear by the cruel hand of nature.

Their story is in your hands now. Tread with caution -- danger lurks around every corner, and the wrong pawstep could spell disaster.

We continue with the Rio chapters! James does something fun with Anna and Kara, then Anna has an important realization. Enjoy!

“Keep your eyes closed.” James said as the door to the rented shuttle opened and sunlight started to spill in.

“They are closed.” Anna replied, turning to face James so he could see that she had the sleep mask firmly on. “Can’t see anything under this mask.”

“Hmm.” James waved his hand in front of Anna’s face, testing to see if she was telling the truth, and she didn’t react. “Okay, take my hand.”

Anna did as he asked and shuffled forwards when he gently tugged her forwards, feeling herself move down the ramp and onto the ground. Feeling pebbles skittering underneath her shoes, her mind started working at where James had taken her. But before she could figure it out, James stopped and asked, “Ready?”

Anna nodded, excitement welling up inside her. The sleep mask came off and she blinked rapidly against the sunlight to adjust. Once her vision cleared, she saw the wall of rock and broke into a smile. “You’re sneaky, here I thought we were just going to hike or something.”

“You mentioned rock climbing when we were talking a few days ago and asked Kara if she knew of any good climbing places. She said that this was a pretty good spot and I figured you might like it.”

“But what about gear? I didn’t see any when we got into the shuttle.”

“He had me bring it.” Kara said, appearing next to them with a smile and unslung the rope from her shoulders. “I know it’s not your own gear, but I checked it out beforehand and it all looks sturdy. You can check it out as well if you want.”

“No offense but I didn’t know you were coming, what climbing experience have you had?”

“Oh plenty; grew up in the Pacific Northwest and climbed most of the spots. Smith Rock, Mazama, and Vantage were some of my favorites. What about you?”

“I’ve been to Smith Rock and most of the places in Texas; E Rock and Comstock were my favorites. Plus a bunch of places out West.”

I believe in teeth supremacy- even more now that I recently had to remove EIGHT of them (mostly premolars and molars) and I'm still waiting for my gums to heal enough so we can go get work done to make me a dental prosthesis or whatever it's called in English. I got ONE less canine and I already feel SO MUCH DIFFICULTY to bite and rip/tear through food without it omfg

Newtstep casts a glance over his shoulder. The sun is hard to look at even as the earth rises to hide it behind the fields, and night stretches before him as he turns back. The shadows of his clanmates creep across the ground. Warriors, elders, kits. All waiting for the meager amount of food their territory has to offer. He's come to a decision, he thinks, he hopes. Indecision continues to churn in his belly when he stands and stretches. Picking his way downhill, the wind whips at his fur. The cold chill of night seeping through to his bones. It's as much comfort as he'll get.

Sigourney was finally allowed to go out of Spartax without her parents. Finally. I mean she was still young, sitting at 22, but she was also still an adult, at least by Earth standards. The auburn haired woman, sat in the pilot seat of her Transformable Mobile Armor (TMA), that she apply named, Queen, dressed in a red jacket, and a form fitting black shirt, as well as form fitting jeggings, Sigourney had discovered them when she visited Earth with her mother, and her fathers old thruster boots. Zooming through open space in her Queen, that was currently in it's flight mode, towards no where, not the place, in particular. "This sucks. I thought being out here without my folks would be fun but it's boring." Sigourney laments out out to no one in particular. Well, you know, because no one else was around. Ugh... Using her Queen be used as a focus for her mutation, that she inherited from her mother, Kitty Pryde, and the Cosmic Awareness that she inherited from her father, Peter Quill, along with his extensive knowledge of the universe that she studied...well extensively, Sigourney opened a Quantum Tunnel...

Ryder had been waiting by a truck he'd stolen at the pond they agreed to meet at a little after midnight. It wasn't often he'd answer the phone for someone, but for them, he would. There was an utmost respect; a bond the two had shared from the first time they met. When he spotted their car lights, Ryder walked to the front of his truck, leaning against it with his arms folded across his chest. Too many possibilities riddled his brain on the reason for their meeting - anxiety began to plague him. "Please tell me I don't have to worry too much," Ryder practically begged when they exited their vehicle.
