i think they’re both the biggest saps the world has ever seen. i mean, listen… they’ll be having 200th wedding anniversary and they will stare into each other’s eyes and hold their hands and just that will make them feel warm inside. and alec will bring magnus flowers every day and magnus will bring alec homemade cookies to the institute every single day and every time they will come back home and they will sit on their couch in the living room and they will just cuddle, leaving soft kisses and magnus will try to put the lock of alec’s hair from his forehead and alec will laugh gently bc even after being together for two centuries, it still feels so new and exciting and even tho they have no idea how that’s even possible, they will fall in love with each other more and more every day

i just… this sounds so mean but how can you be so stupid? we’re a very vocal fanbase. it doesn’t take a huge leap to get from “we have a great scene of alec comforting magnus after a traumatic experience that we cut” to “fans would probably be pissed that we cut it in the first place.” also i’m amused/pissed bc the fandom was riding high of the sneak peek, but now we’re out for blood.

Pumpkin, in all fairness, I gave up to understand any of this. I just... I just don't get it. I am so ??? Because like you said, if they never released it we would've never found out and would still riding the Malec sneak peek high. But this? And what are they expecting from us now? Oh wow, you did cut another Malec scene? Or course we don't mind, no biggie, all is cool! WTF??? And besides, I think we all were kinda chill, especially with the sneak peek, but now with this bts .... imagine what will happen when they don't deliver all the Malec goodness they teased at? Prepare for the backlash, is all I gotta say.

Ahhh this is is gonna be lengthy, lol. I have over 100 tddk fics bookmarked, but i’ll give you my top ten. They are in no particular order but all of them are the ones i find myself re-reading regularly because they are just so amazing and dear to my heart *touches chest*

1. The beauty of futility by wbtrashking (fan_nerd) • Tddk ft. baby Eri. I never seem to be able to shut up about this fic, and I’m usually always rec-ing it in twitter at any given chance just beacause it’s so good and relatable to me. Give me fics with protags being 30+ and still struggling to find their place in life, in need to be reminded that they are always worthy of happiness and love, and i’ll eat that without blinking!!

2. teach me your language of love by ArgetCross • omg this fiC!!!!! if izuku was ever to reveal shouto everything about OFA, this is exactly how i’d like it to be!! ((this fic is canon in my heart)). I love how much they support and value each other and this fic is just a terrific portrayal of them baby-stepping into love *aggressively clenches chest*!!

3. saltwater room by reapers • fake/pretend relationship done RIGHT!!! The last chapter is worth all the drama. Not like everything else is bad!! but just to reiterate that you do end up feeling satisfied on an spiritual level after finishing reading.

4. begin again, begin again by aknightley • the scooby doo au you never knew you needed but you end up wishing there was more of!!! like srly!!!! I wish the author wrote a continuation or a series out of this au *tear*

5. Serendipity by theroyalsavage • stardust au!! what else can i say but STUNNING, BEAUTIFUL, PERFECT, BREATHTAKING!!! This fic is everything what dreams are made of!!!

6. Out of Time (Out of Place) by ladyhoneydarlinglove • halloween au, featuring vampire todoroki in denial until is too late- but not really. This fic is ethereal and angsty but with the happiest of endings and who doesn’t like that!! Also the writing here is just *chef kiss*

7. Spark by MsMay • Shouto struggling with feelings and ending up getting the happiness he deserves (honestly that’s everything i always want to find in tddk fics). THIS ONE IS SO GOOD!!! it ignites my soul!!!

8. It’s exactly what it looks like by CrzA • this fic was a ride in the best way possible. and it made me laugh so hard!! izuku and shouto are the best dorks in every way possible in this fic.

9. Conventional Taste by WowBoring • This fic is so cool!!!! shouto goes with izuku to a hero con and pining and other fanboy-related shenanigans ensues. The writing here is unreal!!! 45k words and you don’t even feel them pass by. What a fantastic fic.

10. Duet in E♭ by Shegry • Just by thinking in this fic makes me weak in the knees!!! everything falls together so well *sobs into hands*. it’s super cute and everything you’d like any musician au to be like.

book!malec --> mortal magnus. he seems so much more tired there than he does in the show, like having forever is exhausting to him. he even mentioned he'd looked into making himself mortal, right? but for show!malec magnus isn't like that at all, so i really see no way for him to not stay immortal. i'll always be pro-immortal husbands, but i just really want to hear alec's take. nothing about alec so far tells me he wants to be immortal, but when they talk about in s3 maybe that'll change.

I’m going to go ahead and say that I absolutely, 100% agree with you regarding book!malec. They had a pretty different dynamic, and I think that was partly due to Alec’s younger age and therefore his inexperience and emotional immaturity, and partly to do with, as you said, Magnus’ tiredness with the world. So, yes, agreed.

I’m not going to state my opinion about the show /yet/ lmao, but I agree that I’m going to be really interested to see how they handle the issue in S3 💕

Adding fuel to the fire :P but I also think the morning after scene is a flashback and as disappointing as that might be that the badass perfect wedding kiss wasn't their FIRST kiss, consider this: if they kissed and Magnus really did erase Alec's memories (which hopefully he would've only done at Alec's request), that means even after all of that, ALEC LIGHTWOOD PICKED MAGNUS AGAIN. And all else aside there's something so lovely about that.

Okay, but why would they kiss when Magnus was SO done with Alec and vanished out of his own loft? When Alec chooses to go on with the wedding??? And to top that he would erase Alec’s memories? Even if Alec asked him to? Why? I mean not to mention that they were meant to be but if not for Lydia and the family honor, I am sure we wouldn’t even have seen that scene and Malec might have been a thing already but that’s speculation from my part.

Anyway, as “romantic” as that gesture might seem that Alec did indeed pick Magnus again at his wedding….. this is …. by far the stupidest plot ever. This doesn’t go to you, I am just …. I hate flashbacks and this is just so stupid and unnecessary and ugh. I do not want this. And I can already see the hate Magnus would get for this if that’s true and gawd, just noooooo.

a good deed is a good deed is a good deed, and i don't think intention changes that if the effects are still net positive. personally i don't even care if the do-gooder gets praised despite selfish intent, bc in the end both the doer and the receiver get boosted and the result is "good." the real question is whether it's morally justified, which sounds like it's potentially implying that being selfish and doing things to satisfy one's own needs is "immoral," which i'd hesitate to agree with...

you bring up an awesome point omg!! would you say the same if the person was bad and not the intention? like if someone who isn’t a good person donates to a good cause, would you still not care if they’re praised despite them being a bad person (idk whatever makes them bad is up to you but just a thought). and you make a good point at the end on a moral standpoint. i guess that depends on how you define ethics or morals and your own moral code comes into play. Immanuel Kant is someone who would challenge your thought, and though I don’t know if i agree totally w him, he could be someone you’re interested in looking into !!
