Dark Academia Hive Stand Up! 🍁📚🖊️
What is Dark Academia, you ask? The truth is, nobody seems to have an exact answer. Some describe it as an aesthetic, like images of students wearing tweed blazers during fall, reading classical literature, and using a typewriter. Another description suggests that it’s a book that features an academic setting, like a college or boarding school, and usually features some kind of a dark twist. Hence, dark academia. Whatever aspects you tie to the culture, we have the perfect list for you.

Mars has always been the lesser twin, the shadow to his sister Caroline's radiance. But when Caroline dies under horrific circumstances, Mars is propelled to learn all he can about his once-inseparable sister who'd grown tragically distant.
Mars's genderfluidity means he's often excluded from the traditions -- and expectations -- of his politically-connected family. This includes attendance at the prestigious Aspen Conservancy Summer Academy where his sister poured so much of her time. But with his grief still fresh, he insists on attending in her place.
What Mars finds is a bucolic fairytale not meant for him. Mars seeks out his sister's old friends: a group of girls dubbed the Honeys, named for the beehives they maintain behind their cabin. They are beautiful and terrifying -- and Mars is certain they're connected to Caroline's death.
But the longer he stays at Aspen, the more the sweet mountain breezes give way to hints of decay. Mars’s memories begin to falter, bleached beneath the relentless summer sun. Something is hunting him in broad daylight, toying with his mind. If Mars can't find it soon, it will eat him alive. START READING!

Reading slump
I've been in such a miserable reading slump for MONTHS and I'm so desperate to read and love reading again. The slump started as my health got worse and it's just continuing and getting worse. Anyone have any ideas for how to help me out of my slump? Or any book recommendations? I love fantasy and things like that but don't fancy reading books that have romance / sex etc in. The last book I read was 'The witchery' by S.Isabelle and I really loved it, it's a fiction book about withes and I can't think of how else to describe it but I really enjoyed it and would highly recommend it! I've set a reading goal for the year of 60 books because I really enjoy having a goal in mind but it was really strange because I'm used to reading like 200 books in a year and it's just another part of my life that has been taken from me since I got way more ill. I'm on bedrest and just constantly suffering (sounds very dramatic i know!) I have some good times but the symptoms are still always there and it's been difficult trying to adjust to that. At this point I'm feeling like I'll never get out of this major slump and that I'll never love reading again and I hate it so much :( I've gone a bit off topic so sorry about that but let me know if you have any book recommendations or ideas to help me get out of this slump please!
