Whats your fav s19 episode for marina and at all

This is hard...I know a lot of people automatically go to 4x14 for Marina and that's a good one but I'm partial to 5x07...I just really loved how they were in their own bubble and the 'I want to hold a little you' scene is just so beautiful. I also feel like 6x15 is in the running too even if their date was interrupted and chaotic...we finally got a shower scene and their scene at the end is one of my all time faves of theirs now as well. Also...4x07! Seeing Maya help Carina process her grief was just so beautiful and such a big moment in their relationship. It's hard to choose lol

And overall...well I'll be honest and say that not many episodes capture my interest if it's not for Marina lol but I did enjoy 4x09 for the Travic aspect...I do enjoy their friendship and it's such a great part of the show that they've really lost lately and need to capitalize on more again. I really enjoy Travis as a character, (for the most part, except for when they had him treating Emmett horribly in Season 5 and had him go through that boring mayor storyline this past season) so I'm usually intrigued by his storylines. And of course 6x08 was enjoyable for the Maya/Diane scenes and I just enjoy Leah's solo episodes because I think she does a great job of balancing all storylines while also moving and developing the plot well.

What (if you have one) is your favourite season of Station 19? My current rewatch made me realize just how different every season. They all have good bits but certain things stand out in season one and two (it’s still sex focused but there’s a greater emphasis on friendships and with their jobs, emergencies) where the later seasons seem to be more relation focused and rely on shock in a way that feels a little rushed? I enjoy something from all the seasons though. But season one, despite no Marina might be my favourite for how excited and bright eyed everyone was about firefighting and life in general lol

I don't know that I have a favorite season, but I don't think it would be the first.

I do tend to like first seasons for their fresh takes on these characters, we're still establishing and developing relationships, the stakes don't have to compete and outdo previous seasons', they get a nicer budget and can do straightforward emergencies, but for me, at this point, so much of my enjoyment of S19 is tied up with Marina, it'd have to be s3 or s4.

I did like the Maya/Andy friendship at the start but even I could see how lopsided it was, and as a character, I just like Maya more seeing some of her vulnerabilities, in the first season her only traits were Andy's friend and cocky.

Every season has some parts I like and some I don't, I mean, season 5 was a big wash for me, for the most part, but 5x07?? Up there with the best episodes.

I stopped S19 during season 3 (the cheating thing REALLY annoyed me lol) but I’m trying to catch up and it seems season 5 is the most disliked by the fandom. Other than Millers death is there a big reason why? Personally the moments I caught of s4 were more off-putting than what I’ve heard about s5. But maybe I’m biased because I thought the Marina marriage was rushed…

Oh Anon, you missed so much! The short answer is: Maya and Carina decided they wanted to have a baby, came up with reasons why they wanted a donor they know and chose Jack. That itself upset a lot of people, but in particular there was some offensive storytelling and dialogue written by the writers that caused the hatred of the season. There are a lot of strong and negative feelings about season 5, which I personally think are justified.

Miller's death was also handled poorly, IMO. It felt like a set up for: a) Oak to leave the show, and b) Ben and Miranda to get into a custody battle for Pru.

Except for episodes 5x05 (Miller's death) and 5x07 (some really lovely Marina scenes), I haven't rewatched any of season 5 so I don't remember a lot about it tbh, other than the bad stuff.

This week ep is my favorite from all S19......second is the wedding

It was so amazing...I think it's probably my favorite too as far as Marina is concerned. 5x07 is right up there too but we finally got the intimacy and vulnerability with emotions all in one episode that didn't have any kind of double standards and it was super important. And all the parallels to their first date/meeting and Maya talking about their wedding...it was all perfect. 4x16 is a great one too, the kitchen scene before their wedding is still one of my very favorite scenes of them too. ❤️

Not that anon asked me lol but in case they want another opinion on Station 19, I actually thought the show was better in the early seasons and always find those way more palatable in my rewatches. The pacing was better, friendships were actually explored and complex and the writing wasn’t so in your face like after season 3 when things got about as subtle as a brick in the face(remembering the expose with a back to back junkie, shooting and car accident always gives me the giggles lmao)but I also agree with you that it was never a particularly good show. Like, Greys is mediocre now but was pretty solid in the start whereas S19 was always kind of meh, but still watchable enough, IMO. Marina made me ignore a lot for about a season and a half and then the time jump and baby thing kind of made me lose interest but all due to writing and not the couples acting, which is really good!

Yeah, they didn't ask you so butt out! I'm kidding, I'm kidding. :P

Well, I did say if they couldn't stand the first eps then skip. I don't think the first seasons were worse, especially compared to s5 but I also didn't really see that much friendship. I loved the Andy/Maya friendship, I giffed some of it even, but looking back, what was it aside from 95% Andy complaining to Maya about her problems? And in s2, they immediately went to Maya/Jack in such a predictable soapy move that it honestly turned me off the show. So I'm not really a big cheerleader for even those seasons.

But yeah, the ship and to be fair, often the writing to support them, can really shine. I can't say I disliked them even in the s5 finale, or for example, 5x07, whew. And like, even if I were to say, watch from when Marina starts, they were getting a minute an ep for a while. It really comes down to what a person wants and can handle and whether it's background watching or they're skipping ahead and all that.

Feels like ever since S19 season 5 started, but particularly the second half began, I’ve been the coding patient on the operating table and also the surgeon desperately calling out “we’re losing her!” And sadly, the show has done a very poor job of trying to revive me thus far

Omg that is the perfect description...I feel the same way lol. Especially with the second half of the season like you said. Pretty much ever since the perfection that was 5x07, it's really gone downhill. It's like they were warning us and giving us that before feeding us the nonsense that is coming now and for who knows how much longer.
