Korean school violence dramas are always like:

see this poor girl? she's been beaten everyday and dragged across the classroom floor because her mother sells fish. Look at her, she can't afford a new uniform because the rich bullies have torn hers and now she's coming to school in sportswear. Her family is about to be thrown out and she's just watched her older sister sleep with a loan shark to keep the family's debt at bay. She can't read, can't eat, can't think because she's poor and the bullies are ruthless.

HOWEVER...

being rich isn't fun because... when the rich bully goes home, he has to sit at the huge, beautiful dining table and eat alone because his father is too busy to eat with him. uwu.

So, priority 1 is obviously to get the green light for a third season or a Six of Crows spinoff so we don’t end it all on an angsty cliff-hanger.

Priority 2 is to ensure that Leigh Bardugo or someone else with influence shoots down any and all half-baked lazy subplots involving some sickening love triangle with Kanej and Tolya – it’s exactly the sort of demeaning shit that desperate Netflix producers would consider, simply because of the outrage factor.

Inej has literally just poured her heart out to the man she loves and desires in spite of all his flaws, and she has left the door open by saying that she will have him, if he is willing to lose his armour.

What she is giving them both by leaving is space to think and heal – not herself a chance to head out on some frivolous flirting fest where she immediately and conveniently forgets about her own trauma. You know, the trauma she willing to work on because she wants HIM. Remember, this is the girl who – for all her courage – admits she isn’t sure how she would have coped if Kaz had actually pulled her in for an embrace. Under no circumstances would I accept as plausible that the girl who sometimes gets flashbacks from a scent or an innocent hug is about to start blushing and giggling after a couple of weeks at sea with someone she barely knows.

Give her some independence, let her find a purpose and shine on her own, but don’t cheapen her steadfast love and deep-running trauma with some five-minute fling.

EDIT: Had my Inej glasses on and forgot to point out what a betrayal it would be not to portray Tolya as ARO/ACE (thanks to all who pointed it out). Also, Kaz Brekker is all about setting Inej free, NOT about controlling her life. Jealousy won't motivate him to heal, toxic jealousy would be wildly out of character and none of it will it bring their relationship forward.
