Today we have a birthday request from @bunnymajo for Iro no Iroiro or The Variety of Colours (the word for various is the word for colour with a second kanji to indicate plurals)
I remember this song being on the second song collection CD and enjoying the soft tone it has; it always felt a bit interesting that the three starting colours corresponded to the colours of Giroro, Dororo, & Keroro (going by the order they're mentioned in the song, which might also be their order from eldest to youngest, at least going by my head canon) and that they're the starting parts of the current friend group that comprise the cast (^.^-)
Especially when they list some of the other colours that started to appear including yellow (Kururu) and purple (Sometimes Tamama was assigned purple things)
While I'm here, sorry it's taking so long for the people who requested background tracks from specific scenes, I'm working on it, but it's a bit tricky having to compare the audio tracks to the original scenes (^.^')

Weekly Movie Report #1
Gull day! I've decided that I'll start to record the movies I've watched in every week. I'd like to develop a consistent posting schedule for every Saturday, as I consider that the end of the week. Without further ado, let's begin!
1 - Everything, Everywhere, All At Once [2022, dir. by Daniels]
Tumblr media
Oh, where do I even start from? This movie is absolutely insane. Alternate selves? A crazy cult worshipping a literal everything bagel? And a middle-aged lady who is going through a midlife crisis was the one to stop it by tapping into her alternate selves by doing odd things to trigger them? I wouldn't think that I'd even be saying this, man. This movie is perfect in every way. The editing, the score by Son Lux, the fights, and a story which keeps me at the edge of my seat. Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan, Stephanie Hsu and Jamie Lee Curtis' performances kept the story going, and this movie deserves all the praises.
2 - Monkey Man [2024, dir. by Dev Patel]
Tumblr media
Man, I never thought I'd see a movie like this. The dark and grisly settings of the streets of India and the dark and disturbing glimpse into the underbelly of the corrupt combined with a gritty revenge story is a wonderful way to start off a directorial debut. The fight scenes were a blast, as well as the camerawork. Patel knocked it off the park with this one.
3 - City Hunter [2024, dir. by Yuichi Sato]
Tumblr media
You see, I've been waiting for this movie for a good while. I've been a huge fan of City Hunter since I was young, but there's some discourse on the so-called "definitive live-action adaptation", the closest being the 2018 movie by Philippe Lacheau [note: I have not watched it myself]. But, this was it. This was the movie for us City Hunter fans. Sato did his homework. Ryohei Suzuki, being a huge fan of the manga himself, portrayed the perverted private eye Ryo Saeba so brilliantly, and I can not unsee him as the famed City Hunter. He is able to switch between the pervy womanizer and a serious private eye in a flip of a coin, a defining trait of the character so well. Misato Morita and Masanobu Ando's Kaori and Hideyuki Makimura was quintessential to the development of the plot, and hey, we get to see Saeko as well! We need more hammers in the next movie, please!
Anyhoo, that's the end of this week's reviews! I'll see you next Saturday, bye-bye!

City Hunter premieres today
City Hunter, the new movie from Yûichi Satô, is out today.
Ryo Saeba is a “sweeper” based in Shinjuku, Tokyo who cleans up trouble in the gritty underworld. The unflappable, foolish and flirtatious Ryo is played by Ryohei Suzuki, while the heroine Kaori Makimura is played by Misato Morita. Ryo’s partner Hideyuki Makimura is played by Masanobu Ando, and Saeko Nogami, a beautiful detective who has a complicated relationship with Ryo, is played by Fumino Kimura.
