Larvis (Larry x Travis): 2/10 I think its gross. The only reason I gave it 2/10 was because i think it MIGHT be a healthy relationship. Salvis makes more sense to me than this one tbh.

@amousemusing‘s pic: This is maybe the most Out Of The Blue pic I did for this whole thing in terms of inspiration; I recalled a convo I had with @amousemusing about how their OC, Fabi, “doesn’t judge the kids around her", and that in turn led me to remember how much we’d been talking about our mutual love of Guillermo Del Toro’s “Pinocchio”, so I figgered, hey!  Why not put The Kid and The Parent together?  And voila!

@jammerlee‘s pic: So OK this wound up being a sort of follow-up to a Crimmis pic I did for Jammer a couple years earlier but never posted, depicting Metal Sonic with a Gift Bow and a note saying they were For Jammer.  So I thought this year I’d see just what Jammer would DO with a Metal Sonic for a present; I can’t say for CERTAIN this is what they’d do?  But I feel decently confident. X3

@werewolf-t33th: I admit, ANY excuse for me to draw SonSal is a good one, but I do especially enjoy working with good ol’ Ohcee’s particular takes on the characters (not only a very distinctive fawn-like design for Sal, but a “kitty” mutant form for Sonic); I didn’t 100% plan it that way, but it actually wound up being a kind of Holiday-themed remake of a pic Werewolf themselves did a little while back.  It was, in any case, VERY fun to make.

@riftclaw: Yin Yang worms <3  This is another bit of serendipity, really; my starting thought was to do something with their OC Sona, but I wasn’t 100% sure what it would be until I realized they had another noodle OC in the form of Zenith.  And once I realized Sona was primarily defined by light/color while Zenith was inky Black?  Well, the pic practically drew itself from there.

17. Who fell in love first? Ah, this has been Salvadore, no question. They were intrigued by each other from the beginning, from the first meeting even, and started to flirt with each other and to tease each other. Nonetheless, it took a while until they allowed themselves deeper feelings or found themselves unable to fight those any longer. Both had been taught and/or had been forced to not let anyone close in their past. Salvadore broke this habit for Daeran earlier – and more deliberately – than Daeran for him the other way around. He was already pining and yearning for the deep emotional bond he felt they could share when Daeran still only admitted on passion, in front of himself as well. Of course, they both were courting each other, making expensive gifts, spending many beautiful moments together, and recognizing that they felt most free and happy when they were around each other. But it was Salvadore who knew (or accepted) first that Daeran is the one, the one he would give and do anything for, the one he wants to spend his whole life with. (Yes, he believes in those sappy ideals, strongly so, and lives them if he gets the chance.) Daeran, on the other hand, needed time to accept feelings of that sort. Being quite adept at concealing his emotions, it took lots of work from both sides for Daeran to allow true closeness. Salvadore surprised him with the deep nature of his intentions and had to prove them to him and to constantly try and look behind Daeran’s snarky facades even when he was still trying to hide the rest (luckily in many moments he failed at keeping it secret), Daeran for his part had to break through layers of his own fear and the convenience of his mask of indifference and the loneliness behind. More precisely, I can say that Salvadore was fully in love and aware of it during early act 3 already, Daeran needed until act 4 to vaguely admit his true feelings in front of himself and until the middle of act 5 to actually accept them and to act on them. 37. What do they like the least about each other? For Salvadore, it’s the mess that Daeran leaves here and there. He likes his space very clean and tidy, Daeran doesn’t care. Luckily, they have servants. – Servants Sal might order around rudely sometimes if he’s annoyed by his husband’s stuff where it doesn't belong – before he’ll snarl at Daeran himself. ((The truth is though, he wouldn’t want to miss the occasional mess anymore.)) Sometimes Daeran overdoes it with his barbed comments regarding his angel abilities or the fact that he’s a politician or his sense of duty. It happens that Salvadore, despite knowing and loving Daeran's habit of making fun of others – himself included in certain ways, he highly enjoys their mutual teasing –, is hurt when he goes too far. Fortunately, it never takes long until Daeran makes it up to him; rarely by an apology of course, but by letting him feel and know how deeply he loves him and, yes, for those abilities he sometimes mocks him with as well. There are phases in which Salvadore buries himself in work too much. Daeran acts displeased when he overdoes it. But he has the talent to pull him out of it and remind him to take breaks and lures him with the pleasant things in life he highly enjoys as well and of course with his own company. Salvadore can almost never resist him. Furthermore, Daeran doesn’t like it when Salvadore gets too bossy. It’s those moments when their egos clash. Daeran strongly cherishes his arrogance and finds it extremely endearing but the moment he tries to order him around without thinking in a stressful moment – and without noticing because he’s just so used to a commanding tone –, Daeran gets annoyed. Of course, he wouldn’t ever show it or talk about it just like that. Instead, it may lead to petty acts of vengeance to make Sal’s working day harder. This will annoy Salvadore in return and cause him to get mad in a heated way he’s not used to from himself. (Usually his anger is of a cold, distanced nature, but not with Daeran.) The result may be angry sex or in bad cases, sharp comments and condescending arguments in the attempt to hurt each other, slammed doors and some days of disappearing from the other one’s space until one of them can’t stand it anymore, buys a gift – that’s definitely not a confession of having been wrong – and visits the other one, gently calling him an insufferable fool perhaps and finding himself captured in a harsh kiss as an answer. 38. What was their most memorable date? Of course, their very first one will always be a special, deeply beloved memory for both of them. But well! It was not a date after all, so maybe the first one after their victory when they met high over the city a second time to eat and drink together and talk all night until they switched to heated kisses instead? Or the many beautiful evenings at all the pleasant and/or exciting places Absalom and Nerosyan – and later Drezen too – have to offer? Visits to the theaters, operas, varietés, restaurants, taverns, markets, gardens and parks, galas, festivities, the countless parties …? Or one of all their cozy dinners at home with the games they play and the comfort of each other’s love and company, safe from all the world? No, they wouldn’t be able to pick a favorite or one that’s shining brighter than the others. Instead, they continue to create memorable moments along their way and wherever they go.

Tell me about jaiden ans cas !!

IM SO GLAD YOU ASKED, RANDOM STRANGER (hi sal :3)

to start out, i have to give a summary of cas's Deal™ . they're a ghost who died due to very unfortunate circumstances, and found themself haunting a horrible science facility. eventually getting out and finding a new, better found family and loved ones and such. generally a very fantastical but traumatic affair.

JAIDEN, however, is... normal! just a normal trans gal going to normal liberal arts college with normal problems. she and cas were former internet friends/penpals/mutuals/etc when they were in ~middle-high school. think like.. from the ages of 13-16 online.

during that time period, cas was.. not doing well. having very real mental health problems, publicly on their socials and such. jaiden made herself out to be their psuedo-therapist, because she had one of those fledgling internet crushes and wanted to do anything to help them

HOWEVER; one day, due to their death, cas went completely radio silent. of course jaiden was emotionally wrecked by this. for years (~5 years to be specific) she would send their inactive blog messages .. almost daily, giving updates and saying how much she missed them

and . well. one day cas (who... doesnt remember much of that period of their life) managed to regain access to their old accounts. and UH OH! accidentally liked one of jaiden's posts, tipping her off that they're... around

jaiden was confused but ecstatic, initially not believing the magical circumstances surrounding cas's new (after)life, but soon found herself.. almost obsessive, in a slightly jealous way?

she doesnt have bad intentions, of course. but what do you do, what do you say, when you find yourself surrounded by things, people, far grander than you could ever be? how could you even cope with knowing the person you put so much time and effort into keeping alive is dead but still doing better than you?

and of course theres still that unrequited crush lingering from their teens.

Their Christmas equivalent is Valhalliaastia, also called "the day of wings". It's basically a celebration of the creation of life on Tantibus, since angels were the first creatures to exist by 100 years. Mortals evolved 100 years later.

Celebratory events include gift giving, donating blood and organs (mostly done by monsters and demons), and eating a lot of food. It's supposed to be a sort of thank you to the angels, since they're considered good luck and bringers of bountiful harvests and whatnot. They're widely adored by many creatures and beloved, so many demons, monsters, mortals, and some animals who haven't even evolved to the point of communication get excited when they see them ♡

Loving angels is something many creatures have in common :3

i know i said i was gonna do these for tftgs ships but uhh i have billy and salvatore on the brain so i'm gonna talk about them

for context, salvatore and billy are based on yet another horror series i like, but i'm just kinda taking them and running away with them so so fast. they're mine now, no takebacks <3

salvatore is an ex-mobster-turned-vampire who was trapped in a small, empty cell for around ten years, stripped completely of his personhood and identity. and billy is the human who broke him out and saved him, and they eventually fell in love <3

so here we go :3 answers under the cut b/c this got a little long!

Who initiated the relationship, and how did it go?

i think this was a mutual thing, but in terms of who first broached the subject it was probably salvatore, if only because billy is generally very oblivious and didn't register that he'd even been flirting with the vampire. it was a while after that before they decided to actually try anything, though, for a variety of reasons--many of them having to do with salvatore's internalized homophobia and shit he's been through in past relationships with men.

Did they have an official first date? If so, what was it like?

okay this is something i have so many thoughts about so buckle the fuck up. their first official date was something billy planned for weeks and weeks, because he wanted to sweep sal off his feet in a way no one ever had before. and salvatore bitched the whole time, but he was really touched at the same time.

the date started with a visit to a drive-in movie theater, with the two cuddling in billy's car, holding hands in the dark and watching a horror movie (not sure which one off the top of my head haha!). billy thought a horror movie would be a fun choice, because he very much wanted the cliche of like... picking something scary so your partner huddles with you and you can protect them. this backfired lmao--billy was the one who was scared.

after the movie, they went to a small, out-of-the-way diner and had dinner (salvatore can't taste human food anymore, but he still indulges from time to time, and he likes to make sure billy has enough to eat).

and finally, they drove out to a cliff and sat on the hood of billy's car to look at the stars for a while and just. hang out. at some point, i imagine they danced a little to some music billy had on CD's in his car, but mostly they just vibed until billy fell asleep in salvatore's arms.

What was their first kiss like?

their first kiss happened before their first official date, when salvatore was trying to teach billy how to swing dance. it wasn't going well--billy is horribly uncoordinated--and salvatore was laughing and teasing him but still very patiently showing him the steps. and eventually salvatore was so struck by how *cute* billy was, trying his best, that he surged up on his toes and pecked him on the lips. it took them both a second to realize what happened, and they both got so so flustered hehe <3

Were they each other’s first anything (kiss, relationship, etc.)?

i think salvatore is billy's first relationship with another man, but aside from that, nope! they both dated before meeting each other, to some degree. salvatore had two previous partners before billy, and billy had a few girlfriends before salvatore.

What’s their height difference? Age difference?

billy is about 5'11" (actually around 179 cm) and, when he meets salvatore, 24 years old. salvatore, meanwhile, is 5'6" (167 cm) and 48 years old when he meets billy (though he was turned into a vampire when he was 38, so he's forever physically in his late 30s). so that's a height difference of 5 inches (about 12 cm) and an age difference of 24 years. don't worry about it <3

What’s their relationship with each other’s families?

billy will never get to meet any of salvatore's family, and that's probably for the best. sal was pretty estranged from his family even before he was turned, and they didn't exactly end on good terms. and by the time he meets billy, his family has moved on and forgotten him entirely.

salvatore, meanwhile, has met some of billy's family! billy is unfortunately a bit estranged from his family as well, but he's still decently close with his sister kate. she's met salvatore and the two get along pretty well! and yes kate teases the shit out of her brother for being into older men (though she doesn't quite know *how* much older salvatore is, nor that he's a vampire).

Who takes the lead in social situations?

it really depends! sal is definitely more confident overall, but he also spent ten years with almost no socialization, so it's a miracle he's still capable of holding his own in a conversation. so, for the most part, billy takes the lead to make sure salvatore doesn't get too overwhelmed.

Who gets jealous easier?

definitely salvatore!! he's pretty insecure in a lot of ways and struggles to fully accept that billy isn't going anywhere. however, he gets better about it with time as he comes to understand that billy isn't going to ditch him.

not to say that billy doesn't have his moments, though, and billy can be downright *vicious* on the rare occasions that he's actually jealous. salvatore thinks it's cute.

Who whispers inappropriate things in the other’s ear?

they both do!! i think salvatore is more likely to, though, because he thinks it's so cute that billy gets flustered so easily. the only thing stopping him from doing it more often is the height difference.

SaL anon here friend and this week's song was a STRUGGLE!! There were so many good ones to choose from, so I'll tell you how I narrowed it down (which literally no one but you might care about). First, i wanted something that felt mostly joyous, because that was how the episode ended, on a note of mutual healing and peace. Second, i wanted something that could apply to either TK or Carlos since their issues were ultimately the same this time, wrestling with needing "fixing" and how they both

ended up being the other's source of healing. So with that in mind, i went this week with One. We've mentioned before how intense Ryan's elongated "i" in the when he sings just hits so many feelings. And with lyrics like "every imperfection is a lie" and "the price of this so called perfection is everything" and of course the chorus (whether you take grace to be religious or something simple like understanding). It's about letting yourself be a mess and it felt appropriate.

Hi my friend! I am banging this out before bed because I promised it would be done before the episode tomorrow and this is the first chance I've had since you sent it. I think this is an excellent choice and I love your reasoning on how you narrowed it down! With all the angst it looks like Tarlos will be having in the next couple weeks, I think picking a thoughtful but ultimately joyful song was the right choice. So let’s dig in!

Okay, I adore Carlos, but while he seemed so put together in season 1, we’ve seen over time how he has this need for control and a...I wouldn’t say “obsession” but a fixation on presenting a perfect image to the world. Which given he’s a gay Latino in Texas isn’t surprising since he likely had to be twice as good as everyone to be half as respected, plus his dad definitely added pressure to live up to a certain standard, and still seemed to think it wasn’t enough and Carlos wasn’t cut out for the job he has as an officer much less his dream of detective. So this song is really such a good one for him especially (also, ones being that type A personality, the  C Major key, 120pbm tempo, and the percussion being made with household cleaning tools all just fit so well!). However we see a lot of TK also putting up that “front” of perfection, starting at the 126 and pretending everything was fine and finding out 3 episodes in that he’s just been totally numb but has been masking it from everyone. Where Carlos falls on the “I can’t let anyone know I’m not perfect at all times” side of striving for perfection, TK falls on the “everyone KNOWS I’m a mess, so I have to constantly be proving myself” side. Two sides of the same coin really. Which leads us nicely into the chorus!

WOW is this a good fit for these two! Both of them want to leave a lasting impression, to feel like they’ve done something worth remembering, and also they are both seeking transformation in this front of being perfect. Carlos, from what he perceives is, if not a full rejection then certainly not a celebration and acceptance, of his identity, and TK from his addiction and the person he was under the influence. 

but the list goes on forever, of all the ways i could be better, in my mind. as if i could earn God’s favor given time, or at least “congratulations”...

now, i have learned my lesson; the price of this so-called perfection is everything. i’ve spent my whole life searching desperately to find out that grace requires nothing of me.

*cries in Tarols* The way both of them keep doing amazing things and keep thinking it’s not enough, it will never be enough to “make up” for who they are...brb gotta go cry into a pillow for an hour about them. BUT we are starting to see that growth for them and how they have learned that the front they’ve put up of perfection was keeping them from being truly seen by their partner and ultimately they lost each other over it with the breakup that started s3. Now you KNOW those last two lines are some of my favorites and I get chills every time, and this time is no different! 4x02 showed us the two of them on the same page, being vulnerable with each other without it being A Big Event, just being able to talk things out and move forward and I love, love, love that for them and for us!

We have seen several seasons of TK being so scared to lose Carlos and while I think we are going to see both of them being tested this week and next, it was so, so, so good to see Carlos drop SUCH a huge bombshell on TK and to see TK take it in stride and make sure Carlos felt heard, and supported, and loved, but he didn’t shy away from sharing his insecurities when they did come up. Carlos for his part WAS worried about telling TK and we know TK stepping back from the relationship has been an issue for them before, but he still did it and it actually went really well! We are seeing the growth even from s3 and the sponsor situation where they are holding their relationship “more loosely, and yet somehow much more dearly” because they have gotten to the point where they aren’t clinging on for dear life just hoping it was enough. They are confident that what they have built is REAL and STRONG and they know what they want moving forward. 

This song isn’t long but it has such depth and feeling and the gentle vulnerability of “i’ve spent my whole life searching desperately to find out that grace requires nothing of me” just strikes me down every time. It’s about the acceptance that you don’t HAVE to be perfect all the time and the ones that love you, love ALL the parts of you, without you having to “polish” or “tidy” them up. And for two men who have spent their lives trying to live up to certain expectations, it must be such a relief that they’ve found a relationship they can find rest in, and where they can be themselves and know they are loved.

It’s past my bedtime now so I’ll wrap it up, but this was SUCH a good choice for this week, and I hope that whatever happens in the rest of the season reinforces this idea for them that they are enough as they are.
