Roman poked Virgil. "Leave me alone," Virgil grumbled without opening his eyes.
Roman poked him again. "Wake up. C'mon, your stop is next."
Virgil lifted his head slowly, blinking. He looked blearily out the window. "Oh. Right. Thanks."
"You've seemed kind of tired these past few days," Roman said. "I've never seen you fall asleep on the bus before. Are you sleeping okay?"
"No worse than usual." Virgil, still not quite fully awake, managed a half-smirk at him. "You're just boring today."
Roman stuck his tongue out at Virgil.

Well I feel down a Sanders Sides rabbit hole and now I have one fan fic idea that keeps playing in my head:
Remus and Roman are twins but they don't attend the same school because Remus was... himself and his parents were kindly asked to transfer him to a school that "fits his personality better". So he goes to a school a whole district over. He gets along with Roman and he loves him but they are very different people so they don't hang out a lot. Remus also can't stand the blatant favoritism they're parent give Roman. He thinks it's sweet that Roman tries to tap it down but it doesn't change anything.
Sp Remus spends most of his free time at his friend Janus house with his other friend Virgil. Janus also shouldn't be attending their school cause he's loaded but he hated the prep school he was sent to and transferred behind his parents back. Money can get you literally anything. Expect real friends which is why Janus loves Remus and Virg so much. Virgil is actually living at a near by boys home. As a kid his home situation wasn't great and he doesn't talk about it a lot. He ended up at Sanders House four years ago though and it's not too bad.
So anyway Roman has never meet Remus' friends and Remus has never met Roman's friend Patton and Logan. Whenever they come over is always at Janus' house. He knows they exist just like Roman knows Virgil and Janus do but they've not met in person over the last two years.
So it all starts pm a long weekend because Halloween is Friday. ( fun fact my school in gerogia gave us Halloween and Valentines off and used it as teacher workshop days.)
So of course the dark side trio is hype, roaming the mall, scaring people, judging costumes, and trying to find accessories to improve their own.
The light side trio is also their because Patton waited too late to get a "decent" (Roman's words) costume, and Logan was hoping to avoid getting one at all.
The crowds get so bad that everyone is separated. Luckily both sides actually have designated met spots, tho for very different reasons. The darks sides met spot is the horror section at Barnes and Nobles. It's large enough that Virgil won't feel claustrophobic and he can read some Poe while he waits and not have people constantly asking if he needs assistance. It was a place chosen, so he doesn't have a panic attack while he waits for his friends since he's the only one without a phone.
On the other had the light side trio chose the lgbtq+ teen romance section as their meet spot. Mainly Because it'll distract Roman enough that he won't get bored of waiting and wonder out to find his friends before they get there. Defeating the purpose of the spot all together.
You can see where this is going.
Patton has been trying to get on the elevator for the last five minuets but everyone time he tries to get on the same time as someone else he let's them all go first and theres no room for him. This goes on until a nice but kinda rude stranger just days "oh my gawd" and pulls him in as he in goes in. The stranger honestly looks way to well dressed to be here and doesn't even introduce himself. He just starts playing on his phone and Patton doesn't know whether saying thank you would be annoying or not. Janus on the other hand is texting Remus about how just met someone who reminds him a little of freshman Virgil and how he hopes he's not freaking out.
Logan has decided to take the stairwell because he knows that people arr less likely to use it over the escalators or elevators. He looks a floor above him and someone who kinda sorta looks like Roman sliding down the railing on his ass and laughing the whole time. He barely has time to dodge as someone yells " dodge nerd" and flies past him. Honestly Logans so surprised by whatever the hell that was that it take him two whole ass minutes to start walking again. Remus is just having a blast. He didn't think this would work and he saw a pretty cute nerd on the way down.
Roman is having a complicated time. He lgbtq teen romance section is usually in the front if the store but it's been switched with the horror section for the month. So here is is not being able to decide whether he should just stay here because the ia the physical spot he normals what's at or go the the actual section with all the books about the boys kissing that he likes to read. Virgil on the other hand is on the virge (ha) of kinda freaking out. He's happy that the sectionnis getting more love, even if it's only for money. But he liked that it was in the back and away from the crowds of people coming in and out. Not to mention theirs someone dude dresses like a prince yelling on the phone to someone named Patton about whether he should "go to the section of love and acceptance or stay in emo hell". Virgil is insulted enough by this to tell him Roman to please stop yelling and go to whatever section isn't here. Roman rolls his eyes calls him knock off Gerard way and ignores him. Virgil completely forgets how nervous he was becuase now his piss3d and they get into an arguments.
It ends when Patton walks in and calls for Roman at the same time that Janus calls in and calls for Virgil. They look to their friend seemingly coming in together and are about to complain to their respective friends when Janus, Virgil and Roman here a familiar voice go
"Brobro what are you doing here. Hey Jan, hey virge," and Remus walks in completely unaware of the fighting that was just happening. Virgil tries to actually get a good like at this guy's face and realizes that without the make up and general zanny disposition he does look a lot like Remus. Before anyone can respond tk that, an another person asks
"OH God Roman what did you do? Who are they?" And of course it's Logan.
So now are dark sides are standing on one side and all the lights on the other. As the two siblings and their two different friend groups collide. Teen hurt, comfort and angst ensues.

Curls-Logince fic
Summary: Roman has always had gorgeous curly hair, and Logan's always been aware of how beautiful he found it. What Logan didn't remember however, was the time in middle school when he first complimented Roman on said curls. Roman will remember it forever, though, as it's when his crush on Logan truly began. So, Roman reminds Logan of this story.
Pairing: Logan/Roman
Link on ao3 <3 Imma try to start posting my fics more often here on tumblr since I post like. 1/7 fics here that I post on ao3. Also Inspired by my bestie @spacedouterri

The Fate of the Marked Six Masterlist

Friendships are made and Virgil finds himself thrown into a situation far more complicated and twisted than he signed up. Hopefully, with the help of his new five friends, he can find a way to bring peace to the town once and for all.

Hello besties, I desperately needed to write some dukexiety yesterday (other than the longform dukexiety fics I’m already working on) so I scribbled this down. I might do more with this au, but not right now bc my dissertation proposal is due at the end of the week (and I still have no idea what I’m doing). Anyway, enjoy!
Relationships: Pre-romantic dukexiety, platonic LAMP with familial Virgil and Logan.
Warnings: Swearing, video game violence, very brief mention of underage drinking.
Writing taglist: @iclaimedtobethebetterbard
Word count: 1231
“Motherfucker!” Remus yelled at the screen, slamming his headphones down. He glared as the words “You died” popped up on the screen. He knew perfectly well that his character had been shot in the head by the AI, thank you very much, and he didn’t need the game to taunt him about it.
After a moment of deliberation, he decided not to click the little “play again” button, and locked his computer before he stood up and stretched.
He’d been holed up in his room playing the game since he got home from school, and now it was nearly 5pm. No wonder his back was aching.
It was probably about time to take a break, and he was feeling kinda thirsty anyway, so he headed downstairs to the kitchen. He could hear Roman and his loser friends shouting excitedly behind the closed living room door, probably playing some boring game like scrabble.
Ignoring them, he headed for the cupboard where they kept the fizzy drinks. His mum had just confiscated his last can of Monster Energy, saying that it made him too hyper, so a bottle of Mountain Dew would have to do.
He was walking out of the kitchen, whistling a slightly off-key jaunty tune, when he nearly bumped into someone.
The living room door had opened as he walked past, and out had walked-
Virgil Angelo.
Remus froze as Virgil looked up at him through his dyed purple fringe, his dark brown eyes rimmed with striking black eyeliner, pale olive-toned cheeks flushed pink with embarrassment.
Remus opened his mouth to apologise, but no sound came out.
Fortunately, Virgil beat him to it. “Shit, sorry- I’m so fucking... I didn’t mean-”
“It’s fine,” Remus said quickly, hoping his words didn’t sound as erratic as his heartbeat. “I was just, um-”
He nodded up the stairs.
“Oh, right. Sure. Sorry,” Virgil said, stepping out of his way. “I’m going...”
Virgil gestured to the kitchen, slipping past Remus.
Remus nodded, his mouth feeling drier than before. “Right. Of course. Um, I’ll just... see ya later,” he said, as he hurried up the stairs.
As soon as he was out of Virgil’s sight, he leaned against his bedroom door and groaned. Could he have been any more awkward? He knew the shy, gorgeous emo with flawless make-up and such soft-looking hair had become friends with his brother recently, but he didn’t realise Roman had actually invited Virgil over.
He ran a hand through his tangled hair and sighed. It was like a rats nest, if the rats decided that copious amounts of grease and cheap hair gel was the most effective thing to hold their nest together with. When was the last time he even used a hairbrush? Did he even know where his hairbrush was? He was going to have to ask Roman which of his friends were coming over each day, so he could at least look presentable if Virgil came over.
Fuck, Remus never cared about looking presentable. What was this emo doing to him?
Groaning again, he went back to his game, making a mental note not to yell at the screen so much now he knew there was a cute boy downstairs.
 -----
Virgil closed the living room door quickly once he’d returned with his can of Diet Coke. He flopped down into his spot on the floor by the living room table, where a game of scrabble was set out. Logan was already winning by a million points – Virgil should have known better than to play this game against him.
As soon as Virgil had got himself seated, he leaned over to Roman. “You didn’t tell me Remus would be here,” he hissed.
Roman looked up from his letter tiles – which, judging by the expression on his face, he was arranging to spell rude words, although Patton had banned anything dirty from the actual game – in confusion. “He’s my brother, of course he’s going to be here. He lives here too.”
“Yeah, but I didn’t think- ugh!” Virgil picked up a cushion from the sofa, screaming into it in an attempt to hide his red cheeks.
When he looked up again, Roman had narrowed his eyes at him.
“Look, if you don’t like him, whatever,” he said, in a surprisingly protective tone. “But he’s my brother, and- what are you smirking about?”
Roman turned to Logan, who was indeed smirking behind the mug of coffee that Roman had made for him earlier.
Virgil shot Logan a death glare, hoping the message of “If you tell him, I will tell every embarrassing secret I know about you. And I know a lot” would come across.
Logan hesitated, but he still glanced slyly at Roman. “Oh, I could never betray my cousin’s secrets. All I’ll say is that I don’t think the problem is that Virgil doesn’t like Remus... rather, it’s the opposite.”
Virgil threw the cushion at Logan, but thankfully Roman just looked perplexed.
“What do you mean?” Roman asked.
Patton was also looking confused, tilting his head to the side, until realisation dawned on his face. “Oh, Virgil!” he squealed. “Oh, and you’re blushing as well, that’s so cute!”
Roman raised an eyebrow at Patton. “What are you saying, Pat?”
Patton grinned, ignoring the glare Virgil sent towards him. “I’m saying, Virgil doesn’t dislike your brother. He likes him. As in, like-likes him.”
As Roman’s face lit up with realisation as well, Virgil threw another cushion at Logan, who made a noise of protest.
“Hey, Patton told him. Not me,” Logan objected.
“He wouldn’t have figured it out without you,” Virgil grumbled. “This is worse than when you told on me for sneaking some champagne at Aunt Patty’s 50th birthday party.”
Patton gasped. “Virgil, you drank alcohol?”
“It was not worth it,” Virgil muttered, pointedly not meeting Patton’s eyes. “Champagne tastes like ass.”
“Wait, you have a crush on Remus?” Roman asked, raising his eyebrows. “Why?”
“I don’t know, he’s... hot,” Virgil said, waving vaguely with one hand as if the gesture could encapsulate all the reasons Remus made him tongue-tied.
“Why didn’t you tell us you had a crush?” Patton said, practically bouncing where he was sitting from excitement.
Virgil groaned. “Because I knew you’d react like this. It doesn’t matter, it’s not like he’ll ever like me back.”
“Are you talking bad about yourself?” Patton asked, his expression suddenly turning stern.
“No, I just... I don’t see why he would,” Virgil said.
“Look, Virgil,” Roman said. “My brother may not have the best taste in clothes, or food, or... anything really, but if he has any taste in guys, I’m sure he won’t be able to resist you.”
Virgil felt his cheeks flame again, and he covered his face with his hands. “Thanks, Princey,” he mumbled. “Now, can we get back to the game?”
“No, we have to hear all about this crush of yours,” Patton said, poking him playfully in the arm.
Virgil felt despair settle in his stomach. When Roman and Patton found out someone had a crush, they were like dogs with a bone. He wouldn’t be able to escape from this for the rest of the evening. Unless...
“Logan has a crush on Janus Hayes!” Virgil blurted, and he let Patton and Roman devolve into squeals while Logan spluttered in indignation.
Virgil just sent a smirk towards his cousin. Revenge was sweet.

Me And You | Dukexiety
Virgil may seem ooc, so may Remus! I wrote this like a month ago-
Remus is too tired to be disturbing- lol
There are no TW! - Wow  am I right?
High school au, Janus is deaf, cause I could.
Could be read as platonic, not proof read.
____________________________________________
Virgil pulls out his phone to text Remus for his whereabouts, they had promised to go to the park after school but for some reason Remus had disappeared.
Sighing he scrolls through his contacts selecting Remus, when a grunt took his attention, he looked up and saw the gym doors open, with light pouring through, and like a cheesy chick-flic moment he peaked in.
In the center of the room Remus was wrestling another classmate. Ah, he forgot about his practice. He scanned the area quickly to see the other wrestlers watching intently as Remus had put a hold on his opponent, the coach signalling he had won moments later. The loser got up and glared at him as he rounded Remus to sit with who Virgil now assumed were other unlucky losers.
Virgil debated leaving and waiting for him out side so he wouldn't seem like a perv, and he was about to walk away too if it weren't for the coach calling up Janus.
Janus had a grin on his face as he stood opposite of Remus, he signed something to him before getting in position. Remus chuckled out "you wish" before also getting set.
Virgil saw Remus' eyes drift to him for a second, and Virgil ducked out from the door way immediately hearing an 'oof' and cheering shortly after.
"Great job, Janus!" One of the bystanders shouted.
... Oops, did he cause that?
Virgil scurried out of the school and opted to wait at his car and play on his phone.
"Slut."
"And hello to you too, Rem."
Remus rolled his eyes at him pushing him out of the way of the passenger door. "You cost me a perfect practice."
He hummed in acknowledgement going around to the drivers seat.
"One could argue you were fated to lose anyway, Janus almost always beats your ass."
He could almost feel the eye roll from Remus.
"Yeah, Almost! I had a chance if it wasn't for this strangely attractive pervert watching us fight."
Virgil pulled out of the parking lot only offering an amused smirk.
The drive to the park was relatively quiet besides the low hum from the radio as Remus switched from staring at his phone and looking out the window. His eyelids getting heavier by the minute.
"Hey, you dozing off there?" Virgil pushed his shoulder lightly.
"Mmh- hey!" The car swerved a bit when Remus shoved back.
"Alright, calm down," he sighed looking briefly at Remus, taking in his appearance. "You sure you don't wanna just head to your place? You seem pretty tired."
Remus shook his head sitting up in an effort to make himself more awake. "No, no, I wanna go to the park, I promised I would-" he was cut short with a yawn, glaring at Virgil when he laughed.
"C'mon, Rem, we can go to the park tomorrow,"
Remus watched in annoyance as Virgil turned down a road that lead the opposite direction of the park, momentarily contemplating grabbing the wheel.
"It's not like I'm gonna get any sleep anyway. My brothers are bringing friends over." He huffed.
"Well, then we'll go to my place, it's not like you haven't stayed over before."
Remus hummed distractedly, looking back out the window.
"Aight, we're here."
Remus all but drug himself into Virgils room, ignoring the snickers from Virgil.
"The twins will freak when they find you here." He commented setting his stuff on his desk then collapsing onto his bed.
Remus smiled fondly at the mention of them and got onto the bed with him.
"Your brothers are so sweet, I can't wait to be charged enough to play with them." He sighed closing his eyes when he got settled.
"Hm" the tv turned on to a show he couldn't give a rats ass about, but it lulled him to sleep nonetheless, along with the quick taps on Virgils laptop next to him.
Virgil was so focused on his work as he typed away for an assignment that was due Monday that he didn't register the snores coming from beside him and only realized Remus was asleep when he turned and threw an arm into his laptop, which, not that anyone would know, scared the bejesus out if Virgil.
"Holy shit-" his right hand clutching his chest where his heart would be, turning to Remus' sleeping form.
"If you broke it, youre paying."
He muttered turning back to his laptop, he carefully pulled it from under Romans arm and surveyed the damage. "Oh, that's not so bad you only," his voice raised slightly in a panic as he continued, "erased half of my work!? Dammit!" He sighed carding his hand through his hair, he set his laptop to the side and just laid back watching the tv as he conveniently forgot about his work. Soon after falling asleep.
His phone alarm woke him up, he tried to sit up but when he couldn't he started to panic, even more so when the grip tightened around him tried to move again.
A tired groaning noise caused him to look to his side, a sleeping Remus hugging onto him like a koala bear.
"Ah.. That explains the- yeah" a sigh of relief escaped his lips as he carefully reached for his phone trying to not wake Remus.
When he finally managed to turn off his alarm he relaxed back into the bed, Remus now snuggling closer into him.
The warmth and the comfortability of it all quickly made him fall asleep again, damn, Remus was like a heater.
"REMUS IS HERE!!" The twins, Patton and Thomas yelled in unison, promptly jumping onto them.
"He-hey you guys-"
They squealed bouncing on the bed slowly but surely pushing Virgil off. Rude.
"Boys! Boys do you want ice cream?" Virgil hissed out trying to get the boys to quiet down.
They stopped immediately, turning to him with a gasp. "I'll get you some if you beat me down stairs."
In a moments notice they scrambled of the bed racing down stairs. Virgil chuckled lightly getting up to follow them, only turning back at the doorway to make sure Remus was still asleep.
Sure enough he was sprawled out on Virgils bed snoring away. Virgil rolled his eyes closing the door behind him, only Remus could sleep through such an attack, "weirdo." Virgil whispered fondly before the soft click of the door shutting was heard, leaving Remus to rest peacefully.

A Snake By Any Other Name…
(A Sanders Sides High School AU)
Ships: Logince (they are dating at the start of the story), Loceit (slow burn, they date after Logince split up), Prinxiety (friends to lovers, they date after Logince split up), intruality (secret relationship, already together at the start of the story)
Just to clarify: This isn’t unsympathetic Roman. He’ll start out as forceful but he gets character development. This also isn’t unsympathetic Janus. Part of his motives are to spite Roman, but he also genuinely cares about Logan’s well being.
Warning: This story will likely contain swearing, Roman being overly controlling/overprotective at first but he’ll get character development, and sexual themes. I’ll try to put more specific warnings for each chapter.
Edit: I’m going to write this on AO3 instead of Tumblr, just to make things easier and so that all my followers aren’t just flooded with a long post. Also I saved a draft for a chapter I was working on and edited it to write the chapter but then lost the whole thing when I saved it without knowing my internet cut out. (Let this be a lesson to write stuff in a document instead of just writing directly on Tumblr 😅)
Description: Logan Croft wasn’t planning on acting in the Drama Club’s production of Romeo and Juliet. While he’s a fan of Shakespeare’a poems, he’s never been one for theatre. The only reason he’s in the Drama Club to begin with is because his boyfriend, Roman Gomez, insisted on him being there. He was supposed to be the tech guy, that was the deal at least, but when Roman discovered that the play was a gay rewrite of Romeo and Juliet, he insisted Logan audition to play the Juliet to his Romeo.
Much to Roman’s dismay, however, Janus Viper, his arch nemesis, is the Drama Club’s director. Surprisingly, Logan does get the role of Juliet, but the role of Romeo goes to Janus himself. Will Logan be able to navigate the difficult situation he has found himself in?
Chapter 1: Auditions
“Roman, I thought we agreed that I would only be joining the Drama Club as the ‘tech guy’ as you call it.” Logan sighed as they entered the cafeteria, where their friend Patton was waiting for them. “But they’re doing Romeo and Juliet! Or, as it’s now called, Romeo and Johnathon! I could be Romeo, and you could be Johnathon! It would be perfect!” Roman cheered as they sat down.
“Hey guys! What’s going on?” Patton asked, seeming as chipper as he always was. He was used to his friends bickering, though it was a bit tiring. He honestly wasn’t sure why they were dating, but he tried his best to be supportive.
“Patton, my friend, would you please tell Logan how great it would be if we were to play as lovers in the greatest love story known to man?” Roman scoffed. “Patton, could you remind Roman that I agreed to sign up for Drama Club on the condition that I wouldn’t have to perform?” Logan retorted. “Okay guys, calm down.” Patton told them softly. “I am calm.” Both Roman, who raised his voice slightly as he said it, and Logan, who said it more matter of factly, informed Patton in unison.
Patton took a deep breath before turning his attention to Roman. “Roman, if Logan is uncomfortable with it, you can’t force him to audition.” He began, causing Roman to pout. “Well, yeah… I know that. I just thought it would be something we could do together… He doesn’t have to, obviously.” Roman explained. “Thank you, Patton.” Logan stated.
“And Logan, this does seem to be really important to Roman. Now that he’s calmed down, maybe you could explain why you’re uncomfortable, so that he knows this isn’t a rejection to him, just to performing?” Patton suggested. “I suppose that sounds fair… I’m uncomfortable with the idea of performing as a character. I have trouble suspending my disbelief enough to enjoy a play, therefore it would be difficult for me to play a character, even if I am actually dating the love interest.” Logan explained.
“That… makes sense.” Roman admitted. “But will that make you uncomfortable? If I end up playing Romeo, and you have to watch me kiss some other guy and remind yourself that it’s not real?” Roman asked nervously. “I… I’ll know that you are simply following instructions.” Logan assured him hesitantly. “Are you sure?” Roman questioned, noticing that Logan seemed uncomfortable with the idea.
“Hmm… I suppose that would be difficult, but I don’t want to prevent you from doing something you enjoy… but I’d also be uncomfortable playing a character, and kissing you in front of so many people.” Logan admitted. “How about this. We audition, if you don’t get the part, we both drop out of the play and I’ll just work on back stage while you work on tech.” Roman suggested.
“And if you don’t get Romeo?” Logan asked. “Then you can drop out and go back to being the tech guy. Besides, I highly doubt I won’t be Romeo. Even with Janus as the director, I’m the best actor there. He has to cast me as the lead.” Roman assured him. “And you don’t have to even try that hard, all I ask is that you audition. If you’re uncomfortable, they won’t cast you. No worries.” Roman quickly added.
“Alright, that does sound fair.” Logan agreed. “Splendid! Oh, Patton! You should audition as the Nurse! Then you’ll be able to support Logan if he does get the role!” Roman decided. “That sound’s like a great idea!” Patton cheered. “Wonderful! We can meet in the Auditorium on Wednesday!” Roman exclaimed, relieved that everything seemed to have worked out.
***
“Alright everyone, quiet back stage. Auditions are about to begin.” Janus announced. He was sitting in the front row of the school’s auditorium, waiting for the chatter back stage to come to an end. “First, auditions for Romeo. Will Farris Becker please come to the stage?” Janus called.
After watching two auditions, Janus waved a hand to dismiss the auditioning actor. “Thank you, the cast will be posted on the Auditorium doors on Friday.” Janus informed him. He then put his feat up on the seat beside him as the actor left the stage, checking his list of people auditioning. “Roman Gomez.” He called, a smirk on his lips as he did.
Roman strutted onto the stage, confident as usual. Janus chuckled as he brought his legs down, sat up straight, and gave Roman his full attention. “Hello, Roman.” He greeted. “Janus.” Roman returned in a bitter tone. “Any day now.” Janus sighed, gesturing for Roman to begin his audition. Roman nodded, clearing his throat before delivering the lines.
“But, soft! what light through yonder window breaks?” Roman began, the lines already memorized as he gazed at the lights above, as if gazing to Johnathon’s window. “It is the east, and Johnathon is the sun.” Roman sang, gracefully raising a hand to the imaginary window. “Arise, fair sun, and kill the envious moon, who is already sick and pale with grief, that thou her maid art far more fair than she: Be not her maid, since she is envious; Her vestal livery is but sick and green and none but fools do wear it; cast it off.” Roman continued, waving his hand aggressively to the side, as if to cut off the moon’s envious light.
“It is my lord, O, it is my love!” He then declared, his expression gentle as he reached again towards the ‘window’. “O, that he knew he were! He speaks yet he says nothing: what of that? His eye discourses; I will answer it.” Roman continued before placing a hand on his chest, his expression one of admiration. “I am too bold, 'tis not to me he speaks: Two of the fairest stars in all the heaven, having some business, do entreat his eyes, to twinkle in their spheres till they return. What if his eyes were there, they in his head? The brightness of his cheek would shame those stars, as daylight doth a lamp; his eyes in heaven would through the airy region stream so bright that birds would sing and think it were not night. See, how he leans his cheek upon his hand! O, that I were a glove upon that hand, that I might touch that cheek!” Roman concluded.
“Thank you, Roman. The cast will be-” Janus began. “Yes yes, I know.” Roman dismissed with a cocky smile. He walked off the stage, leaving Janus to roll his eyes. “Oh Roman, I don’t think you know much at all.” Janus mused, his smirk growing as he read the list of people auditioning for Johnathon. “Next, auditions for Johnathon. Will Logan Croft please come to the stage?” Janus called.
Meanwhile, Roman and Logan stood back stage. Roman had just returned, and he smiled brightly as he held Logan’s hand. “Break a leg.” He whispered, kissing Logan’s cheek. “I would hope not.” Logan murmured. “It’s an expression, Starlight. It means good luck.” Roman laughed softly. “Oh.” Logan replied as Janus called his name again. “Go on!” Roman urged, gently pushing Logan towards the stage.
Logan took a deep breath, then walked over to the stage’s centre. He blinked, his eyes sensitive to the lights. “Logan Croft, I didn’t expect to see you auditioning.” Janus mused, though it was a lie. He knew Roman would convince Logan to do so. It was all going as he had planned.
“Yes, well… Roman wished to audition together.” Logan explained. “I figured. Whenever you’re ready.” Janus then prompted. Logan nodded and cleared his throat. Having also memorized his lines, he began his monologue without the script’s assistance.
“O serpent heart, hid with a flowering face!” Logan began, his fingers starting at his temples before popping way to display frustration. Janus was instantly taken aback. He had expected Roman to have Logan perform Juliet’s, or in this case, Johnathon’s more famous monologue, the one where he confesses his feelings for Romeo, struggles over first love, yadda yadda yadda. Instead, Logan seemed to have chosen this one… One where Johnathon is angry with Romeo, but is conflicted between his love for him and his anger at Romeo’s actions.
Janus couldn’t help but feel intrigued.
“Did ever dragon keep so fair a cave?” Logan continued, pacing around the stage as if irritated. “Beautiful tyrant! fiend angelical! Dove-feather'd raven! wolvish-ravening lamb! Despised substance of divinest show!” Logan shouted, arms angrily tossed into the air as he paced. “Just opposite to what thou justly seem'st,” Logan scoffed, pausing to laugh and wave a hand dismissively into the air.
“A damned saint, an honourable villain! O nature, what hadst thou to do in hell, when thou didst bower the spirit of a fiend in moral paradise of such sweet flesh? Was ever book containing such vile matter so fairly bound? O that deceit should dwell in such a gorgeous palace!” Logan concluded, taking a deep breath to ease his nerves after he had finished.
Janus watched Logan with great interest as he applauded, the sound startling Logan. “Well done, Logan. I’m surprised, who knew you were so talented?” Janus remarked. It sounded like mocking, mainly because such a tone was a force of habit for Janus. However, the compliment was genuine. “Casting will be posted on the auditorium doors on Friday.” Janus then informed him. “Thank you.” Logan replied, giving Janus a respectful nod before walking off the stage. “Not a problem. Not a problem in the slightest.” Janus mused quietly as he watched Logan leave.
“You did amazing!” Roman cheered. “Did I?” Logan asked, genuinely asking. He just did the performance to the best of his ability. It really wasn’t much of a difference to him whether he did well or not. “Yes! I’m sure we have this in the bag!” Roman cheered. “Is that another expression?” Logan questioned. “Yes. It means we’ll surely succeed.” Roman answered, chuckling as he held Logan’s hand and brought him out of the auditorium.
***
“Hey Jannie! How did auditions go?” Remus asked as Janus walked with him to class. “Better than I had even hoped. Logan was there, just as I had predicted, and you’ll never believe it, but he did terrifically.” Janus admitted happily. “Really? I thought he was gonna be stiff as a plank.” Remus replied. “I thought the same. It seems Logan Croft is full of surprises.” Janus mused.
“You sure you’re not just biased cause you want to fuck him?” Remus teased. “Shut it!” Janus hissed, glaring at his friend. “What? Afraid someone’s going to hear? Who cares.” Remus taunted. “If he finds out I… like him… He’s going to reject me before he’s even gotten to know me, all because he’s loyal to Roman.” Janus explained, rolling his eyes.
“I doubt they even like each other that much. Everyone in school knows they fight constantly, hell, they’re more like brothers than you and Roman are. Sure, they’re inseparable, but boy do they have at it when they disagree on something.” Janus ranted. “Yeah, Patty gets pretty tired from helping them sort things out.” Remus confirmed. “But if Logan gets to know me, without Roman there to cause a bias, then I may get a chance. Practicing lines with him will be the perfect opportunity.” Janus concluded.
“Oh so that’s the reason for your big plan. To be honest, I thought you just wanted an excuse to kiss him.” Remus snickered. “That’s just a perk.” Janus admitted, blushing slightly and waving his hand dismissively. “It will certainly be thrilling to practice with him… I really meant it when I said he did well.” Janus sighed fondly. “We get it, you’re a goner for the nerd.” Remus mocked. “You’re one to talk. How’s kissing your boyfriend in the janitor’s closet so your brother doesn’t find out going for you?” Janus countered.
“Okay, okay, listen.” Remus began, stopping in his tracks and pointing a warning finger at Janus. “I’m listening.” Janus stated, smirking as he stopped and turned to face Remus. “Patty and I will tell him… We’re just waiting for the right time.” Remus insisted. “Sure. You’re totally not avoiding it out of fear that he’ll try to break the two of you up.” Janus teased, causing Remus to glare at him.
“Shut up.” Remus complained, causing Janus to chuckle as they continued walking to class. “You’ve had a crush on Patton since Kindergarten. Even someone as idiotic as Roman is going to eventually realize you’ve been avoiding talking about Patton lately.” Janus pointed out. “This conversation isn’t about me.” Remus huffed. “It is now.” Janus mused. “No, it isn’t.” Remus stated before clearing his throat.
“So, you’re gonna cast yourself as Romeo and Logan as ‘Johnathon’ or whatever. What are you going to do if Logan just backs out of acting?” Remus questioned. “If I can’t find a way to convince him without making him uncomfortable or making Roman get too aggressive, I’ll simply warn him that auditioning for a role he doesn’t even want will get him removed from Drama Club for wasting my time. That’s what I’d do with anyone else who did the same thing. Roman will want his precious boyfriend around, so he’ll convince Logan for me.” Janus plotted.
“See, this is why we’re friends. You, good sir, are an evil genius.” Remus declared. “Now now, Remus. We don’t use the E word around here.” Janus told Remus before laughing softly. “But yes, being an intellectual certainly has its perks.” Janus then agreed.

Note
do you have any high-school au promts
(you don't have to do this ofc dont feel pressured pls)
I'm not sure if you're asking me to write one or if you're asking if I've written any already? But here's one I posted a while ago, and here's a new one:
Virgil is a high school student and Logan is his math teacher. Logan has noticed Virgil falling asleep in his class several times, but in spite of this he never seems to struggle with the work and his grades are good, so Logan is worried less about him missing the material and more about why he looks so exhausted all the time. All. The. Time. Seriously, he's starting to consider asking Virgil to stay a few minutes after class to ask him if everything is okay.

The Sides in High School Headcanons
What I think the Sides would have been like in highschool
Logan:
He LOVED school, and was in the astronomy club
He and Patton were very close
They always went over to each other’s houses on weekends
They mostly baked together
Logan liked the science aspect, and Patton liked it because it's fun
Spent a lot of time in his room
Did not want to learn how to drive, like vehemently opposed even the mere idea of it
His parents forced him when he was 17, and he still hates driving
His first job was at a grocery store
He switched between being a cashier and stocking the shelves and the back room
Despised being a cashier, because of the social interaction
Started questioning his sexuality and gender identity early in high school
He spent a LOT of time researching all the different genders, pronouns, and sexualities out there
Patton:
He did not like school, not at all
But no one knew that, of course
He pretended to be happy and enjoying it, though
When he got home, he could really be himself
Spent a lot of time crying and sad baking to make himself feel better
It also didn’t help that the poor boy had undiagnosed ADHD
And depression
He didn’t really have many friends
He *knew* people, but he didn’t really have anyone other than Logan to vent to
Sorry for all the angst, on to happier things
All of the sad baking gave him a cute tummy that he adores
When his parents would leave him home alone, he’d pull a Risky Business and dance around in his underwear
Roman:
Only went to school for the social aspect
Was obviously enrolled in drama classes and in the drama club, too
He had lots of friends, but not one of them knew he was gay (well they knew, but Roman didn’t ever tell them)
I don’t care what canon says, this man was NOT a nerd in high school
He was obviously one of the popular kids that lots of girls had crushes on, but he always liked the guys in his creative writing class
Just about lost his shit in junior year when his crush sat in the front row of a play he was in
That guy taught Roman the gay eyes
It wasn’t something he verbally taught him, he just learned it because neither of them were out at the time
He worked at an ice cream shop and loved it
Virgil:
Didn’t give a flying fuck about school
Wasn’t sad and a precious uwu emo bean, he was a rebel
Got into fights, didn’t do his work, got suspended, skipped class, set off the fire alarm, you name it
He and Remus were practically inseparable
They got matching tattoos together in senior year
He was kind of like the Crofter’s ad they did, but actually a badass, and much cooler
Did not want a job, and no matter how hard anyone tried, they couldn’t force him to get one
Pissed that his parents were making him go to college because he thought it was a waste of time and money (especially money)
Hated being at home, so he was usually off somewhere causing chaos with Remus
Janus:
He surprisingly liked school
The kid who always sat in the back and never spoke to anyone, but observed everything
But he was a stellar student
Always had A’s and all the teachers loved him
The other kids, however, were a different story
He was bullied some
But one day, Patton invited him to sit together at lunch and they just kept doing it?
It was never really spoken about, it was just something they did
He never talked to Patton, it was just enough to have someone there
But Patton always talked to him, and that made him happy
He would never admit that though
Had a HUGE crush on Roman, but no one knew that
Remus:
Only went to school to see Virgil
If Virgil wouldn’t have been there, you know no one could get him to go
He loved pissing off his teachers
He didn’t do his homework, but he did stay up for hours working out new ways to get suspended
He wasn’t in any clubs because why the hell would he spend his precious extra time at school?
He got arrested for the first time in freshman year
He was a chainsmoker, who knows where he got the money to pay for the cigarettes
(Don’t smoke, kids)
Okay he probably stole it from Roman or his parents
(Don’t steal from your parents)
Skipped class to do random shit around the building

Talented
Logince fanfic
Au: High school, Human
Tw: Jealousy in a lighthearted way, swearing
Genre: Fluff
Summary: Logan comes to all of Roman's preformances whenever he acts, and everytime he waits for him at the end to praise him about his acting.
Word Count: 890
@rose-coloured-prince @autisticlogankin
Logan's leg bounced continuously, the gentle tapping of his foot against the rigid smooth auditorium ground. The taps produced a light clicking sound, and the clicking only increased the longer Logan waited. Logan glanced towards his phone, staring at the message he had sent Roman just before the show had started.
Logan: fracture a femur Roman!
Roman💕: Thanks Specs <33! I'll see you after the show.
Now that the show had ended, Logan couldn't seem to find himself able to focus. He found himself replaying the preformance in his mind, specifically Roman's scenes. He was so talented, watching Roman's eyes glimmer and face light up the moment he begins to get into his character was beautiful. Roman's voice was mezmoring, each note that left him felt like Logan was being transported onto a cloud, as the music surrounded him from all over. He felt almost hypnotized by Roman.
Which was quite embarrassing, as not only did Logan rarely show emotion or affection, his boyfriend was an absolute idiot. But god, Logan loved him more than he was able to describe.
Plus, their shared love of poetry made watching Roman preform even better because Logan could pay attention to the technicalities of any lyrics in the songs. It was also very fascinating to him, seeing how different Roman was to him. How creativity, acting, art brought Roman to life while it was literature, science and reading that sparked Logan's interest.
Logan head snapped up, eyes darting across the room once he heard that sweet familiar soft laugh, that Roman always had. He perked up, bouncing on the balls of his feet anxiously, and he could feel his face begin to heat up, the blush rising to the apples of his cheeks. Logan swayed side to side slightly, trying to spot his boyfriend. Though, he knew many people would want to say hi to Roman after all he was the lead.
Before he could gaze around for any longer, he spotted Roman rushing towards him, a beaming grin spread across his face. Roman's eyes had that same shimmer they had had when he was on stage, only now Logan could tell his cheeks were tinted a bit pink. "NERD!" He exclaims, leaping into Logan's arms.
Logan gasps, stumbling backwards as Roman knocked the air out of him. He inhales before wrapping his arms around his boyfriend, squeezing him tight. Normally, he wasn't one for physical affection especially in public, however Roman deserved it.
"You did absolutely incredible Roman," he praised, adjusting his glasses after slowly letting go of the hug. "As expected of course, this is your passion. However I was extremely impressed," he says, clearing his throat and anxiously fidgeting with his tie.
Roman tilts his head towards the side, his gaze softened and he simply sighed. "Muchas Gracias mi estrella," he cooes tenderly. Roman gently cups the side of Logan's face, rubbing his thumb against Logan's cheek. "You're blushing," he hums, a smirk tugging against his lips.
Logan stammered, opening his mouth to counter when he suddenly paused, eyeing Roman's castmate suspiciously as they began to approach the couple.
"Hey Ro! You did amazing!" The boy chirped, his voice coated in giggles. He was wearing a similar costume to the one Roman wore just minutes prior, however his was colored brown instead of red. He ruffled Roman's hair with a smile.
Logan grumbled, hesitantly scooting himself further away from Roman, narrowing his eyes towards the smaller boy.
Roman chuckles, nodding at him, "Thanks Oliver! You too! I'll see ya at the cast party tomorrow okay?" he resounded, taking a quick glance at Logan.
Logan watched as they two continued to chat, and he swore he could see Oliver begin to gaze at the floor while smiling, the same was Logan had when he was crushing on Roman. Logan glared at him, stiffening tension flowing through his body. Why was he getting so defensive?! Its just Roman's friend, it didn't mean anything. Logan knew that of course, but yet.
Luckily, much to Logan's relief soon after Oliver scurried of. And the moment he was out of view, Logan swooped Roman closer towards him, grabbing him by the waist. Logan exhaled, fixing Roman's hair as it was ruffled just a moment ago.
Roman furrowed his eyesbrows together, tilting his head in surprise towards Logan. He gasps, eyes glistening and the smirk tugging on the corners of his lips turning into a full smug grin. "DID I SOMEHOW MAKE NERD JEALOUS? LOGAN GEEK CROFT, JEALOUS?!?" he exclaims, eyes widening.
"That is not my middle name, Roman."
"I DON'T CARE! I MADE YOU JEALOUS!" Roman counters with a sneer."You sure are obsessed with me as much as you want to pretend you hate me, "he teases.
Logan huffed, the blush on his face darkening causing his face to fade to a bright red."You're a dick, "he grunts, burrying his face into Roman's shoulder.
"You love it, "Roman purrs," and I love you, Lo. It's cute that you got jealous, I'm just shocked!"
Logan sighs, raising his eyebrows at Roman," You are such a hypocrite Roman. I constantly see how jealous you get, " he comments, reminding the other.
Roman scoffed,"I do not! How dare you! " he exclaims, gasping.
"Sure you don't."

The Fate of the Marked Six Chapter 2
I have decided on updating this fic every week, so look forward to 22 more weeks of content <3. Most likely, each chapter will be posted either on Wednesday or Friday just because (probably going to be Wednesday late night to be completely honest). I really liked the idea of one character on the head rather than an entire English word, plus I always love fangirling about Chinese characters, so enjoy this. Don't worry, you won't lose any experience if you don't know any Chinese. Just like in this chapter, I'll explain what each character means. I hope you guys enjoy and if you do, please reblog this because it helps a lot more than a like would! <3 ——————– Summary: Virgil moves into a new town and meets Roman, a ghost that he promises to help in finding the unfinished business needed to pass over. However, Roman's past seemed to be deeply muddled with trouble, an uncurable disease that has started to affect a classmate, and a certain tight-lipped valedictorian. Friendships are made and Virgil finds himself thrown into a situation far more complicated and twisted than he signed up. Hopefully, with the help of his new five friends, he can find a way to bring peace to the town once and for all.
Trigger Warnings: None
Content Warnings: Swearing, Talk about Vulgar Activity

Chapter 02
Janus Wright has known the fates of everyone he has ever come across, just by looking into their eyes. Once he found out symbols were branded on people’s foreheads, he stopped making eye contact with them. When he found out that he could see the symbols on their hands, he stopped trying to shake them. As a result, he found himself not wanting to talk to others in fear he would find out the fates of others, specifically their curses.
He was young when he first started seeing the symbols, and he didn’t know what they meant, because they weren’t in English. Maybe it was what piqued his interest in Chinese culture as every symbol was a character in Chinese. More specifically, a word. He learned pretty quickly how to read Chinese because of the symbols that hung over everyone's head.
Sometimes, they were the word 爱. Sometimes, they were the word 钱. Sometimes, they were something else. However, all of the words Janus saw seemed more like curses than fates. Anyone with the word 钱 seemed to have the worst fortune with money, often struggling to even be in a stable place financially. Anyone with the word 爱 seemed to struggle in finding someone they love.
He hated looking tragically at things, so he tried his hardest not to look at them to make sure he couldn’t see their curses. However, with most of the people in his high school, it was already too late. Most of them were branded, the halls haunted with the Chinese symbols.
The worst symbol he had ever come across was the word 死, the curse of death. he had only seen it on one person and one person only: his best friend, Remus Porter, and for the past 10 years of knowing him, he has been trying to figure out how to change his fate.
-+=~=+-
“Wright!” Janus heard Remus’s voice echo in the crowded hallway. He paid no attention to Remus' voice, continuing to walk away from him.
He heard Remus running through the halls to try and get to him, and everyone almost parted the way, as if he was the king of the school. He caught up to Janus pretty fast, pulling on the top of his backpack and almost making him fall over. Damn Remus for having such long legs.
“You never wait for me!” Remus complained.
Janus shrugged, taking off his headphones that weren’t playing anything and staring at Remus.
“I thought after a decade, you would be nicer to me.” Remus pouted before grinning, "Although...it would be nice for you to-"
"Not in school." Janus hissed, glaring at his best friend before he could even get a word out. The boy could be very outward with his vulgar language and Janus had gotten used to it, but it didn't mean that it never turned heads when Remus said something not school-appropriate.
"Oh come on, you never let me have any fun." Remus pouted.
"How I got stuck with you as a best friend confounds me." Janus sighed as he continued to walk away. Remus followed close behind, ranting about a new game he was playing in his econ class.
It was their daily routine. Remus, the king of the school, would talk to Janus, the quiet kid at school, and everyone around would pretend like it was normal that two people–completely opposite from each other–were such good friends. It shouldn’t have made sense, but with their friendship, it just did.
Maybe it came from the fact that despite Remus being so popular, his language and way of communicating with others was so vulgar that it made people wonder whether or not Remus was messed up or if he was awful at showing that he was joking. Maybe it came from the fact that Janus had been the only one to know how to handle Remus' attitudes and sometimes had gone along with his plans. Maybe it came from the fact that Janus wasn't quiet, but instead didn't mess with the niceties and faux smiles that everyone else hid behind. Maybe it came from the fact that only Remus had been genuine from the very start towards Janus. Janus would never know.
While the two walked to Janus’s math class, Remus high-fived everyone that looked at him on the way, while Janus tried his best to keep his eyes on his feet and not make eye contact with anyone.
“Yo, Pat!” Remus grinned as he bumped hips with the class clown, Patton Morris.
Janus was wrong about Remus being the only genuine guy. There was also Patton, who seemed a little too genuine at times for Janus. He was kind to everyone and it baffled Janus how Patton could be so nice to everyone, even those that were awful to him. Patton didn't hang around the pair too often though because of Remus' humor. Unlike Remus, Patton preferred to stay PG, in both his actions and language. If Patton wasn't so genuine to Janus, Janus would've hated him.
“Remus!” Patton smiled, turning towards the two of them, “Always a pleasure to see you. And you too, Janus!”
Janus made the mistake of looking up, pretending not to notice the branded 爱 on Patton's forehead. Still, Janus nodded in the class clown's direction, "Patton."
"How were your weekends, you two? I hope not too exciting." Patton began to fall into step with the pair walking.
"Oh-" Remus began before Janus cut him off.
"No, Remus. Patton doesn't need to hear any of that. You can tell me later."
Remus groaned before sighing, "Alright, I did nothing this weekend."
Patton raised an eyebrow in confusion as he fixed the grey cardigan sitting on his shoulders of his polo shirt. "Are you sure?"
"Nothing of interest, at least." Janus filled in for Remus.
"Ooh, I know what we can talk about! Did you find anything about your powers?" Remus jumped up in excitement.
Janus really had to get someone like the valedictorian to explain to Remus how powers worked because it was clear Remus wasn't understanding what Janus was saying. Still, Janus tried one more time, "I’ve told you this already, Re, if you have the power, you’re born with it. It comes easier to you when you can’t control it when you’re younger, and after a while, it’ll only come in spurts until you learn to control it again. Patton doesn’t have that ability, just like you don’t.”
“Hey, you never know. It would be cool if he had magic!” Remus grinned, “Besides, I thought you liked to speak in lies."
“Not when you say stupid shit like that.” Janus scowled, rolling his eyes.
“Which reminds me, you have to tell me what your powers are. You haven’t told anyone!” Remus grinned at Janus.
“Because I don’t fully understand them myself!” Janus scoffed, knowing the real reason was because Janus didn’t want Remus to find out his fate.
“Uh huh, I’m pretty sure you’re just bluffing.” Remus snorted, grabbing Janus' hat off of him.
“I’m not! I’m really magical!”
“That’s something a faker would say and not a real person who can use magic.”
Janus rolled his eyes, “Go to class, you two. We wouldn’t want the valedictorian to catch you guys again, do we?”
Patton’s eyes widened as he muttered a bunch of curses, “Logan's going to kill me if I’m late again. Bye, guys!”
Janus rolled his eyes as he said goodbye to Remus, getting to his math class as well. Patton had forgotten that Logan didn’t check tardies during the third period.
-+=~=+-
Janus enjoyed the valedictorian’s company. Logan Sanders was a quiet person, who kept to himself most of the time, so they often paired for group projects. With them being so oftenly paired together, they knew which parts to assign to who, and so they could spend the entire class period in silence while working separately and together at the same time.
Janus didn’t know a lot about Logan, but he knew the boy's fate. Janus knew that the symbol that haunted Logan was the word 憦, the curse of regret.
Sitting quietly with Logan, Janus started to learn more about the teacher’s pet. Janus could see the regret that weighed within his shoulders and his eyes that never seemed to go away, and Janus understood that Logan’s curse of regret had been with the boy for a long time.
Then, that gave Janus insight on Remus. Sitting with the quiet valedictorian with regret that weighed tons on the boy's shoulder told Janus something about Remus.
He had never really noticed it before but now he saw the tiredness that rested on Remus’s shoulders, the ones that always seemed in pain. He remembered how Remus always had a reminder around 4 in the afternoon to take painkillers, and he remembered how easily Remus got sick.
Janus was sitting at his usual table during their break time, reading a book when he saw a figure walking towards him. Janus closed his book, looking up to see Remus grinning at him. Remus' shoulders were sagging more than usual. It was clear he was cheerful, but there was a part of him that was more physically exhausted than normal.
“Hey, Jan.” Remus grinned as he stole a chip from Janus’ snackbox. “How was your day?”
“Good.” Janus pushed the entire box out for Remus to eat, knowingly having packed another one for himself since it had been an issue that Remus would steal his food.
“Hm, same.” Remus smiled as the two sat in silence, eating. It was usually how the more recent lunches have gone, as he had been noticing Remus had been getting more and more tired.
So, with his burning curiosity, he broke the silence in the worst way possible, “Are you going to die?”
“What?” Remus choked on his snack, laughing as he turned towards his best friend. “What do you mean?”
Janus turned towards Remus, “You heard what I said, Re.”
Remus laughed, “Oh, I wish. Would you be plotting to kill me? How delicious that sounds! Oh, tell me more, tell me more."
Maybe Remus was fine.
"I'm not planning to kill you. I'm just...not asking you straight out."
Remus seemed to grasp that Janus was seemingly worried for him and exhaled, "Oh, come on, Jan. I'm not going to die. To hell with that idea. In fact, the only way I would ever let anyone kill me is if they did it gruesome enough."
Yep, Remus was definitely fine.
"What even prompted this?" Remus raised an eyebrow.
The mark of death on his forehead.
“I don’t not know…maybe it’s the fact that you’ve been more tired recently, or that you haven’t been as cheerful, or that you’re always in pain, or that you can never eat a full meal anymore and resort to stealing snacks, or that-”
“I get it.” Remus laughed, cutting his best friend off. “I promise you, Janus Wright, with my life. I’m not going to die. If I do, I will strike myself down with a butt plug until I die."
Janus groaned. Of course Remus had to ruin it.
"That defeats the entire purpose of making you swear not to die."
"Well, just trust me, Jan. You're not getting rid of me that easily."
"Good." Janus bumped shoulders with his best friend, "I don't know how I could deal in this world with all these crappy people without you."
"You know it, baby." Remus shimmied before pulling Janus into an involuntary hug.
Despite the fact that Remus had promised him, Janus knew by the way Remus squeezed him so tight he was scared he would never see Janus again, that Remus was lying.
-+=~=+-
“I need your help.” Janus dropped a book onto Logan’s lunch table. Remus was currently serving detention for skipping first period and Logan was sitting alone during lunch, just reading his book and annotating it. Probably doing homework like the studious valedictorian he was.
“Is this because I put your boyfriend in detention?” Logan asked deadpanned as he didn’t look up from his annotations.
“What? No! He’s not my boyfriend.” Janus scowled.
“Mhm, keep telling yourself that.” Logan turned the page of his book, still not truly caring about what Janus was saying.
“Stop that.” Janus tsked, “You have access to all of the students’ medical records, right?”
“Don’t even think about making me break the rules, Wright.”
“I’m not, I’m not!” Janus flushed in embarrassment, knowing that it was exactly what he was going to ask Logan to do.
There was a bit of silence as Logan continued to read through his book and annotate it before Janus caved from the silence to tell Logan the plan. “It’s just that Remus is my best friend, and I know he’s lying about not being hurt. I don’t know how to help him if I don’t know his medical record. I’m scared that he has some sort of illness that’s making him feel this sick, and I want to help him.”
“No.”
“Please, Logan. I promise I won’t ask anything like this from you ever again.”
“I’m sorry. I feel sympathetic.” Logan hesitated as he finally looked up to face Janus, closing his book, “But I can’t break the rules. I have the trust of every faculty member on me.”
Janus was surprised that Logan could feel something, moreover feel sympathetic.
“I know, but can’t you make an exception this once? I mean…it’s not going to hurt anyone, is it?”
Logan gave a small smile--Janus didn't know Leo could do that either--as he stacked some folders together and stood up, “I’m sorry, Wright.”
“Please…I just want to keep him safe. I promise I won’t ask anything else from you for a month, and I won’t tell anyone about this. Besides…haven’t you ever tried to feel empathetic rather than sympathetic?”
Again, Janus didn't really know why he was saying that when he wasn't even sure that Logan could feel anything. The valedictorian had always been so robotic and emotionless that Janus was surprised that Logan stiffened. An unreadable expression flashed in Logan’s eyes and suddenly, the mark on Logan’s forehead turned bright red.
Holy shit, what did Janus just do?
“...Logan?” Janus asked, watching as the mark started to turn bright in the same color as fire.
The boy sighed, brushing through his hair and looked up towards the sky for what Janus could assume was a plea of forgiveness, “Fine, but only once.”
Janus perked up, “Really?”
“Not. A. Word. Got it?” Logan threatened Janus.
“Got it.”
With that, the two boys walked silently to the computer lab, where Logan typed in the computer a couple of passwords and went through a few firewalls until Logan scrolled down to Remus’s name. “Cancer.”
“What?” Janus’s voice cracked upon hearing Logan’s straightforward answer.
“Specifically, for the way natural magic is being stored in his body.” Logan replied, closing the tab before Janus could see more, “His body is too small for the growing and powerful magic, and so he needs to take medication in order to stop it from growing. I don’t know if there’s a cure.”
Janus nodded, staring at Logan. The mark on Logan's forehead was fading from a bright fiery orange back to the regular black it always was. “Thank you, Logan.”
Logan just shrugged, “Remember…”
“Not a word. I know.” Janus nodded as he watched Logan walk away.
Now that Janus knew what Remus was going through, even if he found out through a questionable way, he knew he wanted to help Remus get rid of the cursed symbol on his head, and hopefully learn how to help him in a way that he could help the others around him also remove their curses. ————– I know, I know. I didn't make Roman and Remus siblings in this. I'm actually so dumb for not seeing it before, but the entire fic is already planned out and it doesn't make sense if I change Remus' position for Logan's at this point.
