p1 and p2 are drawn headshots of two utauloids that i fondly remember from my childhood, including kotomi and neko kanochi!

for p3, i drew kalulu again, since i remembered how much fun it is to draw her 🥺🥺🥺

p4 is a full-color drawing of mew mint (mint aizawa) from tokyo mew mew, specifically her new design from the reboot anime

p5 is an re-imagined humanization for kalulu! i still remember when i first drew humanized designs for the spt team, but i decided to re-do my humanized form of kalulu via a full-color drawing 😊

p6 is a doodle set of sketchpad from the nightly manor! i recently watched all current episodes (chapter 1 and parts 4 and 5) from that show; i especially love how fairly simple his design is!

Utau development update

The bad news: while configuring Deci Mal VCCV, I realized that I have gone overboard beyond my current capabilities. I'm not even experienced enough in using VCCV to make a VCCV voicebank and be able to use it outside of plug-and-play, let alone understand how to configure one. In it, I recorded stuff without even knowing what it's for. In that regard, I have decided to delay the VCCV voicebank until I am more comfortable using VCCV Utaus, even if it takes years. After all, it even took PaintedCz years of experience with Utau to invent this method in the first place.

Deci Mal's VCCV voicebank will still happen eventually, and after that she'll get an Arpasing voicebank. Neither of these are guarantees if the CVVC turns out that good though.

The good news: Deci Mal will still be getting an English voicebank soon, but it's going to be CVVC English using my favorite obscure reclist, sango312's. I'm confident this is a great choice because Kanochi Neko English is the most user-friendly English Utau I know.

I wanted to make an English voicebank in this format in the first place, but I thought I was incapable of that. Recording a full pitch for VCCV and recording a notable portion of 2 other pitches has more than proven to me that I can handle it. I will also be applying what I learned from configuring VCCV to configure CVVC.

I wanted to redo this cover for a very long time, since my last attempt with Ritsu is now about three years old, and I’ve changed my mixing methods and tools of the trade over the years.  Overall, I think I did much better with this cover.  What helped was that Lily Native was a port of Lily’s V2 bank to the Vocaloid 3 format that came packaged with Lily’s new V3 bank, and thanks to compatibility between V3 banks with the V4 engine, I now have a voice that sounds like most of the voices that were used back when this song was first released.  I actually really like the way Lily sounds with most Meiko songs, and I hope to have more covers with this bank in the future.  Enjoy!

[MEIKO and Gumi Duet] Melt by ryo Supercell (Band Edition)

I really like Melt. This was originally going to be Meiko and Miku, but the sound I was going with both for the song sounded too similar to each other, so I switched out Miku with Gumi. They're in a train car while it's raining outside. I also learned here that while vsq doesn't work in Vocaloid 6 (and in the future not in Synthesizer V), midi files do. So old V1 files can work, but not old V2 files. The mysteries of tech.

UTAU moms! Akiko and Cäcilie

(Their daughters are the UTAUs Aiko Kikyuune and Neko Kanochi, for those who don’t know.)

Hi everyone! Sorry about the broken promise of a better upload schedule. I did not expect these first two weeks of summer to be packed with so much IRL work to be done. The main thing that was done was housework and visiting/having visitors. I'm really, REALLY sorry about that. I'm hurrying, or, as you see this, I've hurried to get this up before midnight. Here I have Akiko Kikyuune and Cäcilie Kanochi, the moms of Aiko Kikyuune and Neko Kannochi, respectively. Cäcilie, by the way, is pronouced Tse-tsi-li-a (kinda like Cecelia, but with ts sounds). I didn't know she was a thing until I read through a comment section (see second image here) where Sango312, the creator of both Neko and Cäcilie, was like, "Akihiko (Mystsaphyr's Dadloid) x Cäcilie (Sango's Momloid)!" and Myst was like, "I ship this." So obviously I googled her. I kinda ship her with both Kikyuune parents XD but then I don't feel right shipping Catballoon? (It's kinda complicated and weird. I'll have to think about it.) This was originally gonna be a stupid comic, then it was gonna be a stupid shippy pic, so I kept both of them relatively simple with that in mind. Eventually, I decided against shippy. They both came out WAY cuter than expected (they look like dolls!) and so I was like, "Great! I'll draw everyone else too!" Except... things didn't turned out as planned. When I started working on a third one, I started getting heavy on details, and was getting frustrated that the character didn't look how I wanted. Then I realized "OH! Because I'm treating this like a finished piece now instead of a shitpost..." I think, thanks to these doodles, I've finally learned and understood the concept of doing *warm up* sketches before starting on artwork. I might make this a thing I do XD. I just wanted to cover this after hearing it again after such a long time. And holy shit Kuro gets some attention. What.

I used Kuro’s VCV act4 for the main vocals, with “g-4″ to add a little bit of cuteness. Just to add to the dissonance.

The harmonies are her old cute append because I’m fucking lazy. The fact that they match so well is a testament to how much I didn’t need to record that thing. Live and learn I guess.
