It’s not all the info I have on them, but enough for you guys to get an idea of what they’re all about

Fun fact, Roxanne’s surname “Bertand” is my kindergarden boyfriend’s name. It’s been over a decade and we never officially broke up, and it’s still a running joke for us.

Was wondering why a lot of people said Adrien almost has no agency and having codependent relationship with Marinette in this season and your reply to that anon enlighten me greatly. So, thank you!

Tbh I myself thought this will be the season for Adrien to finally step up his game. I mean, the whole s4 is about Marinette role transition from being a holder to guardian so it just make senses (for me) that this season would be about Adrien. And in a way, it does, but not in the way I like it.

It's good that he decided to focus to be a good boyfriend for Marinette as it will be a good lesson for a young kid, but the fact that's the only thing he could focused on his life at the moment is disturbing. All because he's NOT allowed to know more things because no one tell him anything and thus limited his own agency.

Where's his reaction when Ladybug didn't show up? Why he never ask what actually happened in s4? He forgive her without even knowing what he forgive her for and it's not good. Why Felix doesn't even said anything about Gabriel? Why Nathalie doesn't?

If what people said about the fairy tale Nath and Marc created in s4 foreshadowing a plot where Marinette as Adrien sole savior is true, I would definitely hate it if Marinette become the one who solve the Agreste mess without Adrien knowing that there's a problem in the first place. That just not the ending I want for Adrien.

You're welcome but please, let us all keep in mind though that while the narrative focus on Adrien and Marinette romantic relationship, the biggest obstacle to Adrien's freedom (and agenda) is Gabriel himself.

It is Gabriel who forbids Adrien to do things. It is Gabriel who is imposing his will and agenda (the contract with Tomoe) on Adrien. It is Gabriel who gives this illusion of choice to Adrien.

Like we got some cases this season of Adrien asking his father for permission and have Gabriel replies "But of course you can, you are free" while sounding hypocrite about it. And Adrien isn't asking just out of politeness. He is asking because he feels obligated to wait for his father's decision for everything.

It is not mere coincidence we get this after Adrien asked to not be a model anymore at the beginning of this season.

Adrien asks for some autonomy? Gabriel allows it only when it doesn't go against Gabriel's interests. Been there since S1 of course, but more focus gets put now that Gabriel pretends to be more present in Adrien's life.

Also, remember what was Adrien's buried childhood dream back in Wishmaker? To become whatever his parents wanted him to be. Now, we have an Adrien who is going against his father's wishes (unless Amok's magic is at play whether we like it or not).

Yes, Adrien could have a bit more independant scenes, but for S5, it doesn't bother me as much as some because I do see a growth in his character. Though I do wish for one more episode or two centered on Ladynoir's relationship. We know they are in good terms and Ladybug (finally) accepting Chat Noir's helping hand at the end of Strike Back despite having lost everything and entrusting Chat Noir with the Rabbit Miraculous (a very powerful and dangerous Miraculous mind you) did a lot in mending the gap that was created between. But yes, I too would have liked to have a bit more continuity with a few more episodes focused on the hero personas and there is 6-7 episodes to go so maybe? Still, I understand that the narrative focus for now is with what is going on in the civilian side.

And I'm sorry, I am not sure of understanding to what you are referring too. Do you mean during the Kwami's choice? I can't say for sure but I know that after Hack-San, Adrien trusts Scarabella. That she replaces LB when LB cannot be there to protect Paris. And in the interview at the beginning of Deflagration, for security measure, no detail was given and Adrien understands that too. But it also shown us that Adrien without Plagg, without being Chat Noir, without his friends (basically without his connections) is in a depressive state alone at home. It was even illustrated before Plagg left (aka that one shot during Jubilation showing Adrien's room being a mess). So, there is something lingering in his character, but it is also very in character for him to put it in a drawer and not look back at it... until it blows that is.

Why Felix doesn't even said anything about Gabriel? Why Nathalie doesn't?

Can't say for Félix, but it looks like he is one to take actions for supposedly another's sake, without waiting for them to ask nor consulting with said character first.

But out of the two, I so wish Nathalie would be the one to reveal some truths to Adrien. Especially since she has the other half of the Graham de Vanily ring. And during the episode Félix, she is the one who pushes Gabriel to tell the truth to Adrien. We however don't know which truth she was refering to. But like she also said back then : the longer someone waits, the harder it gets to reveal the truth.

If it is about Adrien being a sentihuman, there is the possibility she is respecting a wish made from Émilie, especially if there is a fear of othering here.

As for letting Adrien knows that his father is Monarch, it may be yet again a way to protect him, to preserve his innocence in this. Especially since Gabriel is doomed anyway. I think she considers it is for the best.

In both cases, it seems Nathalie is taking the "ignorance is bliss" route.

About the Fairy Tale analogy, yes, the imagery is there, but I'm going to use a direct quote from Protection here.

Marc : [Y]ou two just turn off your brain, follow the comic book, kiss each other and that's it! End of the show. Everything is magically sorted out. Nathaniel : Hence the name Magic Kiss. Marinette : I'm not so sure. What are you basing that on? Marc : Just about every fairy tale, shoujo manga and Hollywood romantic comedy ever. Adrien : Oh? And it works in real life too? Who knew?

And what happens in the very next scene? No kiss, just Marinette and Adrien being miserable. The opposite of the friends' (read audience's) expectations of how it would turn out to be.

Meaning the show is self aware here. Yes, the writers are using imagery, analogies, metaphors and codes/tropes of the romantic comedy genre. But they will do it with their own twist.

For example, on top of the princess tropes in fairy tales, they are using the good old narrative of a [young royal / noble] wanting to be with the person their heart choose rather than the person imposed to them. With the main villain calling himself Monarch. And they are paralleling somehow Émilie and "Gabi" loves story when they were young themselves. So there is a goal. There is this window of the heroes could potentially become like the villain.

Anyway, the story focusing its second half of S5 on Marinette and Adrien's romantic relationship is their way of tying the civilian and the hero's arc as one. At least, that is how I perceive it. It's Maribug and Adrichat vs Gabonarch.

I understand the fear of Maribug being the Knight in Shiny Armor Savior. At the same time, it is ironically what Argos tried to do during Emotion with the result we have seen. Argos did litteraly remove Adrien from the narrative, in order to do his coup meant to "save them" before making Adrien coming back and we have seen the results. Adrien was legitimately upset at his cousin.

Hopefully, Adrichat will have his own mission during the finale. At least, if Gabonarch isn't unabling / using him in the first place.

Heart Hunter AU because Fu and Wayzz were seriously nerfed so Hawkmoth can have the upper hand and I hate it.

Fu written as actually competent in using the Miraculous.

Wayzz's Miraculous is Not Nerfed.

Warnings: Implied character death at the end, but it's Gabriel and Nathalie (you know, the terrorists)

"Why don't you tell us where the Ladybug and Black Cat Miraculous are, and we will leave you alone?"

As Fu was thrown into the ground, causing him pain, a feeling of sadness and regret also made itself clear to him.

He'd made a mistake, he made a lot of mistakes he was not happy about to be honest.

And he regrets them. A lot.

But!

Even as his back hurt from trying to stand up again, looking at the mocking looks of his enemies, Hawkmoth and Mayura, the Miracle Box in their hands, he knew that this time, he will not run away from this, he will not make the same mistake again.

I should have helped more from the start, and my cowardice indirectly caused this. Not anymore!

As he stood up, he transformed for the first time in decades into Jade Turtle.

He will not allow them to win.

"So much bravado from you, Hawkmoth, since with all the power you have, you still haven't defeated two heroes with more limited access to their full abilities. Clearly you are lacking."

The mocking is stinging enough for Hawkmoth to attack him, and activating his Shell-ter as Mayura entered the battle, their efforts starting to crack the magical barrier.

The villains gleefully mock him, telling him that it is inevitable that he will lose.

He does't say anything, holding with sheer will his place even as the barrier became fully cracked, and with just one more hit, it will be destroyed.

The hit came, the barrier broke, and Fu...

"Shell-ter!"

Had just made another one, and one big enough it hit the villains and caused them to stumble from the unexpected attack.

The shock of what just happened was more than enough for another opportunity.

"Shell-ter! Shell-ter, Shell-ter!"

As quick as he can, Fu, instead of just having one shield, had just created dozens of shields, many separating him from the villains, while the rest...

Locked the two villains inside of them.

"What is this!?"

Hawkmoth looked furious, as he finds himself imprisoned inside the many barriers, with Mayura looking just as angry, as they try to break the barriers.

"Crush!"

The barriers quickly move, closing against each other, forcing the two villains to be slammed and unable to move, almost squashed from the sides if not for their supersuits.

Hawkmoth is furious, and shocked, he can't freely move, and he cannot use enough momentum or force to break the barriers.

"To protect, isn't just to take hits." Fu starts talking as his shield is in his hand, moving closer toward the immobile villains.

"It is also, to be unstoppable and indestructible in your defenses. And the Turtle Miraculous defines that. Did you think that a shield that can be easily destroyed, will not also have a destructive force when used for attack?"

In a second, he vanished few of the barriers separating him and the villains, and immediately slammed Hawkmoth in the face with his shield, before catching him, and ripping the Butterfly Miraculous off his shirt.

Mayura didn't have any time to even catch her breath from the pressure disappearing, before Fu made more, and locked her, and repeating the same process.

In the end, Fu could only look at the unconscious forms of Gabriel Agreste and Nathalie Sanscoeur, his mind decided on how he should deal with them.

They misused the Miraculouses.

His hands raised his shield...

They tormented people.

His shield was easily stronger than diamond.

All for a selfish desire they think they have the right to fulfill. And he isn't going to be patient with them anymore.

His shield was thrown, towards the very fragile bodies.

Fu didn't regret what he did. He only regretted the fact that this was the only way they would be actually stopped.

And the shield struck.

“Hold still girl if you want to see your friend and yourself walk out of here alive!” Mayura threatened her. To enforce the point made by his partner, Hawkmoth pressed the blade closer, drawing some blood. A single droplet traveled along the edge and hit the floor. The heroine felt her whole body go stiff with fear. She silently accepted her fate when suddenly there was an ear-piercing cry of pain behind her. The blade, together with hand that was holding it, fell to the ground. Hawkmoth stumbled holding the stump that used to be his hand. Behind him Damian wiped the blood from his blade.

“Leave. My Wife. Alone!” He barked and turned to Mayura. “The game is over.”

Hawkmoth was really glad that his miraculous stopped the bleeding immediately. But at the same time the pain was almost making him see stars. So she married a batbrat…

Mayura immediately let Luka go and rushed to Hawkmoth to help him. She tried to lift him, but she was stopped when a cold blade was pressed to her neck. 

“I wouldn’t try it. He will need immediate medical attention once his transformation wears off.” Robin said through the gritted teeth. “Try not to join that list.”

Marinette was still in shock of the events that just occured, but she grabbed her yo-yo and tossed it up. “Miraculous Ladybug!” A swarm of magical energy traveled everywhere around and fixed everything, including Hawkmoth’s hand, but he was still without his weapon while Mayura was at the sword’s pointy end. The heroine walked to the defeated pain. “Gabriel Agreste, Nathalie Sanscoeur, As the Great Guardian of Miraculous I hereby renounce your right to miraculous you have abused.” With that, she plucked their jewels away. The two Kwami were ejected from them and looked at the girl with clear relief. She then turned away to collect other miraculous when suddenly a knife went through her. Adrien was standing there with fury in his eyes. 

“You’ve chosen some random american hero over me?! What does he have that I don’t!? You are a monster!” He spat at the girl. He was about to grab her miraculous when a chakram hit him and pushed him back. He stumbled and fell on the ground. Damian was about to rush him and gutter him open, but Nathalie used the distraction to tackle the hero and looked at the blond boy.

“Run! Run and don’t look back!” She shouted and turned back to the wrestle match against Robin. She was winning until other heroes didn’t come at her aid. Adrien grabbed the Butterfly and Peacock miraculous and run as fast as he could. He jumped into the platform and traveled to the underground compound. Spoiler was about to jump after him, but she turned her attention to where Ladybug laid.

Marinette had a knife going through her chest, about right where her heart was. Damian punched Nathalie hard enough for her to get knocked out cold and run to his wife.

“Angel! Can you hear me?!” He held her close.

“Dami…” She was too weak to actually say his full name. “Did… did…”

“You did it angel!” He cried loudly. “Hawkmoth and Mayura are both no more! Everything is going to be fine.”

“I… thank… you…” She managed to spit out. While she was not bleeding, having a pierced heart would still kill her slowly. He also suspected her lungs were damaged given her irregular breath and troubles with speaking.

“Save your strength. The help is on the way I am sure.” He tried to comfort her. The certainty in his voice almost convinced him that it will be okay. 

“The t-time… with you…” She had to make a break in the middle of the sentence, but she grabbed his hand tighter. “was best… in my life…” She pressed his hand to her stomach tighter.

“And we will have more time together angel. Don’t leave me! Don’t leave me damn it!” He cried.

Gabriel took advantage of the commotion and tried to sneak away, but the Gorilla stepped in his way. “Nuh Nuh.” He grumbled while shaking his head before he hit his former boss on the head like a whack-a-mole game.

Finally, the transformation surrendered and Tikki was forcefully expelled from the earrings. Blood started to fall from the wound.

“Oh Marinette! I am so sorry! I…” The kwami moaned. 

Damian stopped speaking. He just looked at his wife. She was so little, smaller than even him. He contemplated pulling the knife, but it would be pointless. 

“Can you… Can you heal her?” Sabine asked the Kwami.

“I don’t know. Oh Marinette!” Small goddess of creation nuzzled into the neck of now passed out girl. The pulse was still there, but it was getting weaker with each passing second. 

Damian took off his mask. Screw secrecy! He looked at the girl he came to adore and tightened his grip on his hand. “Don’t leave me habibti. Please don’t do it…” A single tear fell from his eye, mixing with the blood around her heart. Then the next one. And another. He allowed his emotions to surface. He didn’t care who saw what. It was his moment, his wife, his damn business and no one’s else. 

Tikki saw the pain and suffering and cursed. Cursed the laws, cursed the balance, cursed her own limitations. She was the most powerful kwami... scratch that, most powerful thing in existence. She created this whole damn world. Marinette was her greatest companion and true friend. She would not watch her Ladybug pass away so young. The Kwami floated above the girl and focused her energy. An orb of white formed around her and she launched it on Marinette. As the energy connected with her, the knife was destroyed and wound closed immediately. There was a flash of green light for just a moment, but it was quenched with another green light that came from where Damian’s tears still remained. 

There was also another pulse of energy. This one was much bigger and came from near the ring of Black Cat where Plagg just awoke after he was exhausted. Doing evil was much more tiring for Kwami. And him potentially hurting Tikki like that made the lazy cat pass out for some time. Now he sensed the balance shifting. He acted almost on instinct, but retained enough awareness to change one thing. This pulse hit everyone in the room, but it looked Like Gabriel and Nathalie got the worst of it. 

Marinette opened her eyes and graped for air, looking at Damian confused. “W-What… What just happened.”

“You are alive!” He shouted and pulled her in deep hug. She was confused at first, but embraced her husband as well.

“Marinette! You are healed…” Sabine lost her voice. “Thank you Tikki. Thank you so very much. You can have any sweets you want whenever you want!” She shouted before jumping to pull both Damian and Marinette into embrace. 

“That is indeed a great news to see Mari-hime well, but what exactly happened.” Kagami asked, voicing what everyone thought.

“I can answer that.” Plagg floated closer to them while carrying his own ring. “When Tikki used her power to heal Marinette, she disturbed the balance. Normally, it would require someone else to surrender his life force to heal her.” It was unlike the Kwami of destruction to speak in such academic tone, but most seemed to ignore this fact for now. “But since she was still alive and I was conscious I instead took some of the life energy from everyone. For next few weeks, maybe months I would advise you to avoid strenuous activities.”

“Since when do you know the word ‘strenuous’ Plagg?” Tikki giggled while looking at the other Kwami.

“I have other interests than eating cheese!” He shouted. “Besides this mogger hid my cheese behind encyclopedia and I read it while eating at night.” He murmured. Tikki would have probably laughed if not the implications behind this. She floated to her companion and pulled him in a hug. There were no words spoken, only the two of them comforting one another after so much things happened in such a short (for a Kwami) time.

Next week was hard. The defeat of Hawkmoth caused severe backlash. The public swarmed Ladybug wherever she went and questioned her about details. The chaos in the city caused by the news was close to riots. People were overly ecstatic. On the bright side, the school was canceled for the time of celebrations. 

Before the heroes managed to turn their attention to Adrien he was long gone. He also wired all the funds from his father’s account somewhere. It was clear that the older Agreste had safety mechanisms in place just in case something like this happened. 

Marinette didn’t care. She would later, but for now she was just happy that she could spend some time with Damian. Since the time she almost died, the two were inseparable. Even crowbar would not help here, so back off Jason!

The trip to America came sooner than expected. Marinette’s flight left on Monday, but Damian had to return by Saturday to have everything prepared. She wanted to go with him, but Madame Bustier firmly protested, saying that all students must travel with her because she is class representative and some other utter bullshit (Damian’s words). 

Still, the bluenette came to the airport to say goodbye. It was about five in the morning and they were in private longue while waiting for the jet to be ready. Marinette kept forgetting that she was married into the richest family in the world. Then again, she did not care. Damian would mean no less to her if he was broke. 

“It’s only two days, but I will miss you” Marinette said to him when the message came that everything was set.

“Me too habibti.” He said while looking into her blueberry eyes. 

“I… Thank you. For everything.” She smiled. “If I didn’t meet you, I would probably still be fighting a losing war against Hawkmoth.”

“It was nothing.” He shrugged it off. “I did what I had to. To keep you safe I would do more.” He paused for a moment, taking another look in her beautiful eyes. She also starred back at him, the two whirlpools of emerald were mesmerizing in the morning light. They were really mesmerizing at any time of the day or night. “Marinette… Before I go. There is one more thing I wanted to tell you. The last months I spent with you were amazing.” He forced himself not to close. Damian decided that he would do it today and he would. No matter how embarrassed he was feeling right now. There was only the two of them and he turned all the cameras into loop so his family could not hack them. “For the first time I could really be myself. I am grateful for that.” 

Marinette looked at him funny. “Damian? What are you…” She didn’t finish the question because he interrupted her.

“Marinette Dupain-Cheng Al Ghoul Wayne. I think I love you. No. I know I love you.” He said with an emotionless expression. It took every bit of his willpower not to run away.

She blinked. Then she blinked again. The weight of this words almost crushed her. Suddenly her legs felt weak. She tried to avoid his gaze while her mind was getting overheated. But then the courage she always showed as Ladybug filled her. She straightened up and looked him deep in his eyes again. “Damian Al Ghoul Wayne… I love you too.” She said. there was a relaxed smile on her face, but the most important part were her eyes. Damian saw only one thing in them. Love. He never saw anything like that before, but he knew that this was love in purest form. 

He grabbed her in the waist and looked at her with question. For a moment, she hesitated, understanding where this was going, but then she wrapped her hands around his neck and pulled himself closer. For a moment their faces were just inch apart. This was her last chance to back away. Yet instead, she closed the distance between their lips.

For reboot!Nathalie, I’m considering styling her with high fashion ready-to wear looks by designers like Mugler and Chanel (lawsuits, ahoy!)

Not only to visually show she’s a powerful, high ranking business-woman who KNOWS fashion, but also as a subtle rebellion. This version of her hates Gabriel, and only works for him because he has some life-ending blackmail on her. So, she’d intentionally not dress in Gabriel fashion, her way of showing her disagreement and distaste for him when she can’t verbalize how she truly feels.

I also think Nathalie would look like a hypothetical adult Marinette, or at least how Marinette wishes she’s gonna look like.

Nathalie is also the reason why so many fancy brands find their way in her niece Lucy’s wardrobe, she can’t help it loves

yeah uh in the fall of 2018, i wanted desperaetly to write symbrock fic but the ao3 account i had was mostly aimed at cishet GOT shippers and that would have been............traumatic, probably to my then-current readers, so i went looking for new usernames on ao3 and tumblr but sanscoeur was taken and pasdedeux was taken and folieadeux was taken and my brain was melting from horniness so i was like fuck it pasdecoeur kind of means heartless if you squint and shut one eye and tilt ur head to the left, i hate this i hate it, writing tentacle porn should not be this much effort >:(

Awwwwww yeah, LEAKS! XD It’s pretty great to start off the season debunking some major theories! I won’t lie... I was totally caught by the Grabiel/HawkMoth/Collector fakeout but I was a bit disappointed that The Collector will be not a reoccurring character. (I liked his design) I feel pretty good about myself for not posting about the Collector until the episode came out though! As a staple to confirming theories I ALWAYS WAIT for the official episodes to confirm them, since, even creator headcannons or red herrings can pop out in media and not be the final result.

Or things might simply still change along the way. So mes petits chattons, try not to get to head of yourselves until you see it with your own eyes. Now... let’s get to the meat of what we discovered:

Gabriel Agrest IS HAWKMOTH I have stated time and time again how I wished this wasn’t the case but it is. It’s unfortunately pretty predictable but I doubt the Miraculous team is going for Nancy Drew styled mystery. The FAKEOUT was reeeeeeally effective for both the viewers and the characters I think. lol

Nathalie KNOWS about Gabriel’s... illusive activities. This one actually came as a big shocker to me but this also explains some leaked imagery I saw earlier this summer. ***(If you want to know what I’m talking about, there will be another section below and you can read that after this list.) It’s still a bit difficult to say whether or not she’s aware that Gabriel is “Le méchant Papillon!” or if she’s so straight laced that she doesn’t pry into what “specifically” Gabriel is doing, but my gut is telling me she’s in on a lot of things.

The Origins of how Gabriel got the Peacock and Butterfly. So, I’m kinda gonna gloat a bit since I had to convince a few people over this blog that the Miraculous were not given to him and was kinda right. lol Also, we have confirmation that mistake Master Fu made involves the destruction of his temple. Something happened where Fuu had/was in reach of the Miraculous as child/tween?, the temple was destroyed, time went by, then Gabriel managed to obtain the 2 missing Miraculous somehow. So there’s a story there just waiting to be told! NOTICE IN THE FLASHBACK: Special Bracelet?????? Hmm..... One thing did feel odd though, since Fuu stated that this seemed to happen when he was much younger, the timing for Gabriel’s discovery of the Miraculous doesn’t line up as a direct cause for the downfall of the temple. Judging by the pictures of Adrian and his mother, he wasn’t that young when she disappeared so Gabe & Mama Agreste’s trip was probably 2 or 3 years ago. I have a sneakily strange suspicion that Gabriel’s story to how he got that book wasn’t a total lie. Seems probable that after a few decades, it could have made its way to somewhere else in Tibet and Mama Agreste just bought it from someone unaware... but that’s still speculation. I’m honestly waiting for the French version to see how they word that  story. Sometimes, there are clues in other languages that help piece things together. I speak English, Spanish & French so... maybe there’s something in there that can help. XD

Guardians of the Miraculous Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees. I feel pretty gratified right now. lol. I suspected something like this to be true, though it is surprising that they are trained from childhood to be Guardians. “Hey, Miraculous Fandom! The show has just given you a Guardian class! Change up the Miraculousonas and feed OCs into The Guardians!” LOL. Theory: Master Fuu wasn’t supposed to get the Turtle. He just used it to maybe survive the fall of the temple and to keep Wayzz, as company. XD

Soooo Gabriel is sure that Adrien is Chat Noir Yep. Seems like it. Just confiscate it Gabe... naw, too easy. VILLAIN OF THE WEEK! 8D

MOAR Spoilers + A rando theory of mine....

*** The pictures I saw of The Peacock Holder... basically look like Nathalie... is what I think. Rando insane theory: Natalie’s name is: “Natalie Sanscoeur” ...that basically translates to: “Natalie No heart”. What if Natalie lost her heart... or memories... which is also why she doesn’t care about Gabriel’s activities....  What if what happened to her changes her color pallet from green eyes to blue... and blonde hair to black..... she has perfectly oval eyes (but droopy) and a thin nose... and he doesn’t recognize her as his wife because she’s empty... but he keeps her close as his assistant... just saying.... just saying......maybe the fandom will have created a “future” version of a mama Agreste, the peacock miraculous user.... like how the FANDOM created the Fox & Turtle design... uber old fan designs are being picked up... I hope the original artist/inspiration is getting money from Zag...*** Comment if you want me to elaborate on this theory. ^^
