Hey Cat! Hope you're having a wonderful start to your weekend. I was wondering if you could point me in the direction of some 'bookish' female earlyish/mid twenties faceclaims? I have a serious hankering for a librarian character but can't quite get the right face, so any suggestions would be a great help! Thanks!

Written by Ryukishi07, the creator of the When They Cry series, Iwaihime first launched for PC in January 2016 in Japan. An updated version, which was partially rewritten and contained additional scenario and CG images, was released as Iwaihime: Matsuri for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita in July 2017 in Japan. The international edition of Iwaihime includes the scenario adjustments and CG improvements Iwaihime: Matsuri.
Here is an overview of the game, via ShiraVN:
About
“I envy you the privilege of dying. Curse your powerlessness, and leave us.”
From the pen of hit writer Ryukishi07, the creator of Higurashi and the rest of the When They Cry series, comes a story on the theme of “curses.” Characters brought to life with delicate skill by manga artist and illustrator Kazuharu Kina are set against atmospheric backgrounds from the fantastic mind of environment artist Mocha. This supernatural horror visual novel—a tale of sin, retribution, and penance—will soon be available for the first time outside Japan.
This new international release includes scenario adjustments and CG improvements from the prior console re-releases, bringing to PC the writer’s preferred rendition of the tale.
Story
Each generation, the sons of the Susuhara family strike out on their own when they reach the right age.
Self-reliantly they refine their minds and their bodies, until at last they become men. Suzumu has prepared for this day for a long time, learning the skills that he will need.
Living alone, he attends Susuda Prefectural High School. He should have joined as a freshman, and not as a transfer—but he was delayed.
His days are not only easy but pleasant. In his Class 2-A, everyone is having fun.
But there’s her. Toe Kurokami. She’s… certainly a wonder. How else to describe her?
She never lets go of the Japanese doll that she hugs constantly to her chest. There are whispers that its hair grows when nobody is looking. That it’s cursed. It’s no wonder they whisper. That’s one creepy doll.
That Suzumu’s path crosses hers could be fate…
…could be? Not “could be.” It’s fate.
Characters
Suzumu Susuhara (voiced by Makoto Furukawa) – The protagonist. Leaving home to improve himself and learn independence, he moves into an apartment owned by the family of his distant relative Tsubakiko. “…I can’t just pretend that I don’t see you suffering.”
Toe Kurokami (voiced by Chinatsu Akasaki) – The only daughter of Iwaimoto Shrine. Her eyes are often vacant and unfocused, and her teachers and classmates alike treat her with a careful distance. “…Stay back… You’re corrupted… You can’t understand me…”
Tsubakiko Harumiya (voiced by Mariko Honda) – A distant relative and classmate of Suzumu’s. Their last meeting was so long ago—before elementary school—that the two barely remember each other. Her dream for the future is to be a beautiful bride. “Well, I’m a girl, you know. I work hard every day to be cute as a cute little button!”
Kanae Minobe (voiced by Yuka Otsubo) – Technically a year above the others, although she doesn’t give off that impression at all. She’s laid-back, soft-mannered, and not much for hard work, but she’ll invest effort where she expects returns. “I just wanna have an easy life. Oh, boy… Anybody know how to get rich quick?”
Riria Nunokawa (voiced by Sarah Emi Bridcutt) – A year younger than the rest, she moonlights as an active member of the idol unit Flower High School. She can come off as somewhat chilly, but she goes out of her way to give back to her fans. “I wouldn’t be a high school idol if I couldn’t balance school life and work.”
Mayu Hinagata (voiced by Ryoko Tanaka) – The school nurse and health teacher. A kindly elder-sister type—with razor-sharp deductive reasoning skills that make her something of a magician with words. Playing advisor to the LCSC’s club activities, she keeps the proceedings nice and mellow. “Do community service → Wow, the LCSC is amazing! → So who’s their advisor? → I get showered with love!”
Natsuya Atsuta (voiced by Yuki Tai) – Suzumu’s classmate and greatest friend. Since a certain event, he respects Suzumu greatly. A hothead who loves to say “great!” “That’s the great Susuhara for you!”

My comments from 2018 after I saw the play in Tokyo:
This is my favorite song. It’s probably also the best Sebastian solo by a long shot. Literally everything Yun has learned and mastered in his 3 years playing Sebastian has crystallized into this 2 minute song. On the 1 to 10 “I can’t do this” scale, this is probably 100. This song takes place after Sebastian kissed Ciel’s hand, and at that point he was literally SHAKING with excitement and basically PLUNGED into this epic ode to his master. Not only it features dramatically high notes, but Sebastian is also COMPLETELY ALONE on stage for this song. There is absolutely NOTHING on stage for this scene. The stage is empty with only the curtains right behind him. Yet it’s also the most tense, emotional and aroused Sebastian we’ve ever seen. We’ve not seen this Sebastian in previous Kuromyu, but this Sebastian does not feel out of place at all because this most extraordinary monologue is pieced together by every bit of Yunbastian we have come to witness over the past 3 years. Even if the zombies didn’t get you worked up before this scene, Yun’s passionate voice alone will make you VERY bothered. This song marks the end of Sebastian’s cinematic record.
My comments today:
In light of this podcast episode by my friend Sarah, I would like to share this clip which has been sitting in my draft for almost 2 years, waiting for the right moment to be published. It still gives me major goosebumps even now. Not only is this song an incredible display of Yuta’s vocal range, but also his impressive acting range. Again, there was NOTHING on stage for him to interact with. He is basically putting everything he has on stage for us to see and feel, and it is simply the most spellbinding performance I have ever seen.
I purposely lowered the video & audio quality of this clip to encourage purchases of the DVD/BD, check the links below please!
I.A. n-buna Uploads
(Original songs and self covers uploaded under the name n-buna or ナブナ. Dates are given for NicoNico uploads unless otherwise mentioned.)
I.B. ヨルシカ Uploads
(Original songs uploaded under the name ヨルシカ or Yorushika, which is a duo formed by n-buna as composer and suis as vocalist. Dates are given for YouTube uploads.)
III. Compilations and Collaborations
(Only counting albums where a song or cover first appeared, so that excludes the numerous compilations of songs that had already been on NicoNico for a while. Not counting albums where n-buna did only tuning/mixing/etc. for another artist, or where another artist covered a n-buna song, but counting original songs and arrange covers done by n-buna.)
Not sure how comprehensive this list is, I’m probably still missing some songs here and there, so let me know if there’s more.
I also didn’t include his SoundCloud uploads since most of them seem to be incomplete demos.
Same things apply as for my other posts: upload dates are given in Pacific Time and album dates are given in Japan Standard Time due to the sources I use for these posts. Parenthetical descriptions are translated into English and are not official. See Orangestar Discography for more.

This is just an opinion post for which I prefer. I have 650 hours and counting on the game, so I’ve had time to listen to a bit of both. These are the voices I prefer. I can’t say for sure which voice or dub is better. Overall, they’re both pretty solid.
Byleth (Male):
Yūsuke Kobayashi | Zach Aguilar
I feel like Kobayashi’s voice fits better. I just didn’t like Zach’s interpretation for Byleth or Tanjiro.
Byleth (Female)
Shizuka Ito | Jeannie Tirado
This one is more of a preference.
Edelgard:
Ai Kakuma | Tara Platt
Again, I feel like this is more of a preference. I just feel like Tara Platt doesn’t sound like a teenager either. Ai Kakuma gives her more of a softer and more “girly” vibe if that makes sense?
Dimitri
Kaito Ishikawa | Chris Hackney
Chris is funny with Dimitri’s character. He goes from the whole “don’t eat the weeds” to the emotional scenes that are great, and as much as I really, really, really like Ishikawa’s dialogue as well, I didn’t get the nuance from the script of the Japanese version.
Claude
Toshiyuki Toyonaga | Joe Zieja
This one is a tie. I couldn’t choose. I know everyone prefers Joe because he’s very involved with the fandom, but Toshi is really good too. If it makes sense, he gives Claude more of a romantic vibe? He seems a lot more flirtatious and suave in Japanese, but I will admit that there’s more nuance in the English script. Regardless, the confession scene feels way better in Japanese (Toshi does a lot of otome games so maybe it’s from that)
Hubert
Katsuyuki Konishi | Robbie Daymond
I don’t really like Hubert all that much, to begin with. Katsuyuki makes him sound less like a cartoon villain and more like an actual potential good guy to S-Support.
Dorothea
Juri Nagatsuma | Allegra Clark
When you have Dorothea and Mercedes on your team, you can only take so much “ara ara”. Allegra (not the allergy medication) also makes her sound a lot more natural. I personally didn’t notice the first time I played through that she was double-casted, but after a couple of times, I got tired of the whole “let’s hire one actor/actress to play more than one character!”
Ferdinand
Taito Ban | Billy Kametz
Billy Kametz just won a Crunchyroll Award for his dubbing of Shield Hero, and I can definitely see that he’s really talented. He’s pretty prolific with his roles in other anime too like Cells at Work and Demon Slayer. Both of Ferdinand's voices are a good fit, but nothing beats the FE meme of “I am Ferdinand Von Aegir”
Bernadetta
Ayumi Tsuji | Erica Mendez
I don’t really like either. You can open any dub out of a can, and Erica Mendez has a 50/50 shot of being there. Bernie’s JP voice is like a broken squeaky toy though, so Mendez just automatically wins.
Caspar
Satoru Murakami | Ben Diskin
Besides double-casting (which I’m not a fan of), Ben just made Caspar sound like too much of a child even with the time skip.
Petra
Shizuka Ishigami | Faye Mata
Petra’s English is probably a contributing factor. Localization does wonders.
Linhardt
Shun Horie | Chris Patton
You can also find Patton in a lot of other dubs. However, I just preferred Patton’s a bit more because it made him sound a bit more grown-up. Not to mention, some of his lines just fair better in English.
Dedue
Hidenori Takahashi | Ben Lepley
There’s such thing as making a voice a little too low, and after playing Crimson Flower, hearing the pain in Dedue’s voice after he loses his best friend is quite something.
Felix
Yuichi Jose | Lucien Dodge
Felix is a whiny brat, but I feel like Yuichi makes him feel like less of a whiny brat.
Mercedes
Yumiri Hanamori | Dorothy Elias-Fahn
There was no competition. Yumiri’s voice is the absolute perfect fit for Mercedes. Elias-Fahn’s voice made her sound like a cartoon dinosaur.
Ashe
Yūki Inoue | Shannon Mckain
There’s a lot more character in Mckain’s voice.
Annette
Takako Tanaka | Abby Trott
This is purely personal preference.
Sylvain
Makoto Furukawa | Joe Brogie
This one is a tie. I couldn’t choose. Joe Brogie does bring that “f-boi” vibe, but Sylvain’s confession scene in Japanese was really sweet while his English version was... passable. Furukawa’s got too much experience with those kinds of things.
Ingrid
Manaka Iwami | Brittany Cox
She makes Ingrid sound so sweet, and her voice has so much more emotion and character compared to Cox’s version which sounds so flat at times. Also, her death line is infinitely better post-time skip in Japanese.
Lorenz
Hiroshi Watanabe | Ben Diskin
Nobody likes Lorenz.
Hilda
Yūki Kuwahara | Salli Saffioti
Again, there’s more nuance in the localized version.
Raphael
Takaki Otomari | Zachary Rice
The amount of “himbo” energy stuffed into that dub is legendary.
Lysithea
Aoi Yūki | Janice Roman Roku
Aoi Yuuki is a symbol in the seiyuu fandom because she does a lot of voices for little girls.
Ignatz
Shougo Yano | Christian La Monte
They tried to do something with the JPN dub that didn’t quite work. They tried to make him sound much higher pre-time skip then made his voice hit puberty, and while I appreciate the authenticity and efforts put in, they couldn’t make it consistent so his voice was constantly going from high to low when exploring the monastery post-time skip.
Marianne
Sawako Hata | Xanthe Huynh
I just prefer her more soft-toned voice.
Leonie
Sakura Nogawa | Ratana
I don’t like Leonie that much really.
Jeralt
Akio Ōtsuka | David Lodge
I like both, but Lodge is a better fit for the narrator too.
Rhea
Kikuko Inoue | Cherami Leigh
I really like Cherami as a voice actress, but this feels like a great miscast. Her singing voice for Rhea isn’t great either, and her screams felt subpar at best. Kikuko Inoue really gave her that “wise old lady” vibe.
Sothis
Tomoyo Kurosawa | Cassandra Lee Morris
I don’t really like Sothis. I still say that they could’ve made a better character than that. Her child voice is offputting too.
Manuela
Sachiko Kojima | Veronica Taylor
No preference here because I never cared for her or ever really put her in combat.
Hanneman
Kenji Hamada | W. T. Falke
Hamada’s voice was a bit too deep. Besides that, the same as Manuela.
Catherine
Chie Matsuura | Laura Post
No preference here.
Alois
Manabu Sakamaki | Dave B. Mitchell
His character is based on puns, so of course, English dubbing will prevail here.
Seteth
Takehito Koyasu | Mark P. Whitten
Mark dubbed some fan lines, and his voice is much more distinctive and isn’t associated with any big-time characters yet (cough Dio).
Flayn
Yuko Ono | Deva Marie Gregory
Yuko Ono’s voice is way too high. It rivals Bernadetta.
Jeritza
Atsushi Imaruoka | Patrick Seitz
Patrick did a great job directing this dub, but Jeritza sounds like he’s constantly about to yawn in the English version.
Shamir
Yurina Watanabe | Allegra Clark
Their voices are extremely similar in quality. I just have a bit of bias, and I don’t like double-casting.
Cyril
Kengo Kawanishi | Griffin Burns
I don’t like Cyril.
Yuri
Junya Enoki | Alejandro Saab
Junya provides a really good voice for Yuri. It makes him sound even more like his character if that’s even possible. Junya gave much more of that trickster “Claude” kind of vibe. It’s hard to decipher, but despite being kind of similar, Junya wins by a landslide despite Saab providing a stellar dub.
Balthus
Subaru Kimura | Aaron Hedrick
I think it’s because of the localized script. His voice is also a perfect fit for the character.
Constance
Sarah Emi Bridcutt | Kirsten Day
I can’t take all the “OHOHOHOHO” laughing all the time.
Hapi
Sachika Misawa | Christine Marie Cabanos
Hapi’s localized script is really down-to-earth and adds to her character more.
Opening Reception: Friday, July 26, 5-7 pm
Artist Talk: Saturday, July 27, 2-3 pm
“It started with a community of makers who wanted to create in a radical new way,” says Marissa Saneholtz, one of the co-founders of the Smitten Forum. Every year since 2014, Marissa Saneholtz and Sara Brown have invited a new group of jewelers and metalsmiths to work side-by-side in a communal studio for a week. Over six years, the forum expanded in numbers and geographic area to encompass over 70 artists in several states.
Call it a mobile artist colony, a colorful social experiment, or a crafty piece of performance art. Invitees range from emerging to well-established jewelers who employ a stunning array of mediums and techniques—including casting, computer-aided design, found object assemblage, powder coating, tin construction, traditional silversmithing, and welding.
Six Years Smitten brings this dynamic range of artists back together, with over 70 artists participating in a cumulative exhibition of wearable artwork. This will be the first long-term exhibition of Smitten participants, and will also reunite several members of this remarkable community.
