Finally got THE BIG THREE. The skull models of Sarcosuchus, Deinosuchus and Purussaurus all made by Brennan Ruadhrí of scaledbeast.com. I can highly recommend them, they are available at different scales (these are the smallest) both with open and closed mouths. And for those not into crocs (well first of all shame on you) there's also dinosaurs, pterosaurs and other prehistoric animals available.

Two Ouranosaurus sit in a body of water to cool off on a hot day as an adolescent Sarcosuchus swims up to investigate the couple. Ouranosaurus has found its way back into my heart as one of my favorite dinosaurs. Their shape is really fun to look at with its rather large humped back and beaked face. Honestly, Paleo Pines probably had something to do with my enjoyment of them.

Paleovember 2023, Sarcosuchus!

Dating back to the Early Cretaceous, Sarcosuchus is a near-relative of modern crocodilians (not a true crocodilian itself) with species native to both Northern Africa and Brazil. The North African species, S. imperator, is estimated to measure up to 32 feet long! It's especially notable for the bulla, the large rounded portion of the end of the snout similar to the modern gharial. Unlike gharials, however, where the bulla is restricted to males, both sexes in Sarcosuchus seem to have a bulla, and while the gharial limits itself to eating fish, Sarcosuchus was more likely to be a generalist hunter of dinosaurs (though it wouldn't have been able to do the famous 'death roll' to rip it's prey apart).

I was at a zoo and what i thought was a gharial was actually a species called Gwaaah [what was basically a giant gharial aka sarcosuchus]
