My opinions on the first chapter. pg.46-47

What I like about this first chapter is the talk between boruto and sasuke and how sasuke views the ninja world and that we get to read about how boruto feels about scientific ninja tools. Pg. 46- 47 and that boruto doesn’t like how it doesn’t feel ninja like.  and that we get a clear understand about how sasuke feels about this new era and that “science and ninjutsu aren’t in opposition . They grow from the same roots. And goes on to also say that the ninja from the warring era. Ninja dreamed of this kind of peace and progress.And that so many of our predecessors made countless observations, did endless analyses. The scientific ninja tools are the grand sum of this accumulation of knowledge.And that they can be used in battle and force to protect the village.

And sasuke telling boruto that using science, you can use ninjutsu even more effectively.Boruto still living with he’s guilt about miss using scientific ninja tools. Any time science is brought up. And is frustrated that he couldn't get past this visceral hatred of science. and we can clearly see boruto understanding and knowing that science isn't a bad thing. ( we also see this clearly in the anime as well during Boruto vs AO arc)

It just hit me that they really had to keep Sasuke out of Naruto The Last movie as much as possible in order to shoehorn Naruto and Hinata's relationship. Like, if that man got even a second of genuine interaction with Naruto, the supposed chemistry of NaruHina would've been lost completely because Naruto wouldn't stop talking about Sasuke and Sasuke wouldn't stop staring at Naruto. And the rest of the gang would be third, fourth, and fifth wheels (yes, I'm looking at you Sakura).

Like, can you imagine the magic water portal thingy scene if Sasuke was there??? I'm sorry Hinata but that's game over right there for you my gal. You might as well have been dismissed from the mission even though technically the whole thing kinda supposed to revolve around you in this movie.

Can you imagine instead of Hinata, it was Naruto and Sasuke getting to spend some alone time together in peace, in old, dusty, abandoned houses... reflecting on their childhood or the future?? Naruto looking at Sasuke as his thick black hair was caressed by a gentle breeze????!!!

I need to sit down.

So basiclly they just put Sasuke on the poster and gave him a few frames to acknowledge his existence and note what he's up to but they very deliberately kept him out of the story as much as possible because they knew. I feel like deep down, they just knew they couldn't have Hinata and Sasuke in the same room with Naruto if this was supposed to be a romantic movie above all else.

genuinely my belief that ino was never really interested in sasuke and actually liked sakura the whole time is so deeply embedded in me that every time i read a fic where ino is just as sasuke-crazy as sakura, i have to remind myself that. technically that is the case

Sasuke story: The star pupil chapter 1 completed pgs29-52

Chapter 1 29-52

Konohamaru is in the hospital and he’s team comes to visit him. Boruto sadara and mitsuki bought Daifuku cakes for Konohamaru. Konohamaru is delighted and gets up to go get some tea first. Boruto sadara and mitsuki are waiting for Konohamaru to come back and try one of the cakes. Sadara is in love with every bite and boruto says that he likes he’s moms zenzai better.The tv is playing in the background and sadara question the Girl on the tv and who is she?Boruto tells sadara with big eyes that’s Himeno Lily she’s a idol. The girl started singing and sadara started getting a slight pain in her head. With annoyances at the girl on the screen singing words like angel and hell and marshmallow that made no sense and couldn’t understand how boruto and mitsuki couldn’t be bother and slightly enjoying sounds of her voice. Konohamaru

Comes back with tea.Boruto asks if he found anything out about the bombing and why they commited the crimes. Still nothing new.they talked about they’re fighting strength and power and how that most of them are chunin level and apart from the boss before Konohamaru could finished sadara figured out that they dont hesitate to sacrifice themselves. Boruto dislikes that they use bombs instead of ninjutsu. Konohamaru changes the subject to inform them that he will be stuck in the hospital for 3 weeks. Sadara  was concern. Boruto asked what will happen to the team for the mean time. Konohamaru said smiling that they are going to have a substitute. They all try to guess at who it could be and its and before Konohamaru could even say who at the end of the room at a cool low voice saying “me” sasuke. Sadara was excited and calmed herself down and boruto was over the moon with excitement that the old man sasuke would be they’re master and teach him ninjutsu.

Boruto makes he’s way to the training grounds outside of the village. Boruto wanting to be a ninja like sasuke supporting the hokage. Boruto has received training from sasuke before for only a short time. And the period of training was the reason why he’d ended up rethinking his relationship with his father. Boruto treasured the time he spends with sasuke.

Boruto watched speechless as sasuke kunais shot forward systematically mowing down the trees of the forest before reducing the cliff to rising up in the distance into rubble. The cliff face slide off from the rest of the rock kicking up a cloud dust. Boruto couldn’t believe all that came from a kunai. Sasuke had kneaded his chakra with the Kauai on one finger and within a instant released an electrical current. Sasuke then realizing that they are not ready learn this technique. 

For they’re training sasuke gives them two dice each and explains with only ninjutsu to get doubles with the dice and your not allowed to touch them. Sasuke throws them into the air along with two shuriken the grazed the dice in the air and when they fell to the ground they faced to six’s.Sadara goes and decides to use shuriken and places them on a tree stump. She learns quickly they are sugar cubs and that if she wants to move them she going to have to move them with the right amount of force - not much and not to little. Mitsuki chose to use wind style to give the dice a slight breeze but ended up blowing them away into the forest. Boruto decided to use the rasengan .Boruto wanted to use the flow of the chakra rasengan to move the decide.He made a small rasengan and blew the sugar cubes before even getting close them.Sasuke watching them all trying they’re hardest reminded him of the old days of team seven.With a wry smile, he realized he was of all things waxing nostalgic. And that while watching Boruto sadara mitsuki he felt he could perhaps understand what had been going on his brother mind when he’d sacrificed himself for the sake of the village. Sasuke lost in thought of he’s brother itachi and how the long, long days and nights of war hadn’t been in vain. Boruto asks sasuke for a hint as to how to do it. Sasuke tried to show them again but it did absolutely nothing. They all sighed in unison. Sasuke smiled wryly at himself. “ I’m not suited to teaching’’. Unliked Kakashi he was great with words. Sasuke acted on instinct. Kakashi communicated all of his knowledge and experience to the next generation. “ I’ve got a long way to go as a master,” sasuke thought.

In the end boruto wasn’t able to get doubles with the dice.

Boruto goes home trys to figure out how sasuke did it while in the bath tub. He says to himself “ gentle enough not to break the sugar cubes…” he only intended to do some visualization training, but he carelessly kneaded his chakra in the tub and the water started to swirl into a vortex. hinata open the door and said you can’t knead chakra in there you’ll break the tub”. “ don’t peep in the bath! Mom, you gotta stop using the Byakugan in the house!. She giggled “ I didn’t mean to. I just felt a presence of chakra.

The training with the dice continued. Boruto Sarada mitsuki met sasuke once again for more training and sasuke teaches them a new technique to learn instead of the dice that day. About Splitting a basic Lightning style attack into two bolts of current. To generate a current in each hand at the same time. Boruto didn’t seemed moved by this are really interested he was still fixated on moving those dice. After sasuke finished explaining the new lesson boruto walked off into the forest to work on moving those diced on there own.Boruto was so close then the wind blew it on a tumbling it to a one. Sasuke comes and questions boruto hate for scientific ninja tools. Boruto expresses that relying on science its so un-ninja-like and not very cool. Sasuke replies with “ if you know science, you can use ninjutsu even more effectively.’’ “ science and ninjutsu aren’t in opposition. They grow from the same roots.’’ Boruto thinks about he’s bitter memory from churn exams and how he got caught by he’s father for cheating and using a forbidden scientific ninja tool. He knows that science isn’t a bad thing. But boruto irrational heart rejected the whole idea and just hearing about science brought back he’s guilt over the exams. Sasuke goes on to say he is a excellent ninja and that he’s been blessed with excellent education and that you have talent. And that all those ninja that dies protecting the village could see you that they would be proud. Boruto thinking sasuke is being to nice. And that they would be laughing at boruto because he’s living a easy life with science everywhere. And sasuke reassures boruto that “ of course they wouldn’t. This kid of peace, this progress, was exactly what the warring era ninja dreamed of while they spent those long hours studying and honing their skills.” And that so many of our predecessors made countless observations, did endless analyses. scientific ninja tools are the grand sum of this accumulation of knowledge. And that it wasn’t appropriate for you to use one in the chunk exams and that they can be powerful weapon in actual battle. A force to protect the village. Boruto wants to live up to sashes expectations so much that it hurt.

By the fifth day of training. Sasuke training cover a lot of ground from all kinds of things from drilling the basics to mock battles. The three students were more or less able to get doubles with their dice perhaps not nine times out of ten but at least once or twice. Boruto still continued to avoid science, despite knowing that having science and the narutal order on his side was going to be even more important as a ninja in this new era.

One morning on their second week of training sasuke arrived thirty minutes after their usual start time. And announced that he has a mission and that he is setting out and that he’ll be back in a week. They all watched as sasuke left the village to the point they could no longer see him anymore then decide to go get something eat at ichiraku ramen. After they were done they started walking and as boruto was walking a cat mascot was handing out pamphlets. The cat shoved pamphlet right infront of them and boruto grab it instinctively. And the cat ask you three are ninja right? Boruto answers with yeh.. the cat hurries and says I need to ask you a favor! And grabs boruto and pulls him into a narrow alley. Sarada mitsuki follow quickly after boruto. And the mascot cat goes on saying that they are in danger and that someone is trying to kill them. And that they can pay to protect them. She popped off her costume head to reveal that she is Himeno Lily.

there’s just something so utterly gratifying in sasuke killing orochimaru and making it known the reason he doesn’t apply his “no kill” rule for him is because sasuke views him with a disgust and dislike that he almost only reserves for itachi.

itachi and orochimaru while differ in they want from sasuke, both are perpetrators of some sort in sasuke’s life. trying to manipulate him through lies and coercion, and of course on top of it they have committed crimes beyond redemption. so it’s greatly satisfactory that sasuke, as a victim, gets to kill them both with the same level of merciless.

of course, this all gets kinda dimmed when both return, and act all goody goody. though it is nice both of them aren’t anymore in a position where they have power over sasuke, in fact it’s sasuke who has it now. itachi is so ashamed he can’t even meet sasuke for himself until sasuke presses and he’s forced to finally tell him the truth. and orochimaru is basically in debt acting as sasuke’s follower
