Miller's Girl swirled w/Status of Chapter 8

So You Know What officially releases tomorrow in its...limited release, and I just gotta say... it's a movie about a seriously horny 17 (in the script she's 17) year old brilliant 'I'm not like other girls' girl who reads classic erotica and wants to fuck her pruney old white guy English teacher. I won't spoil the end... It's just like The Crush, with less superficial pouty lip and more classic literature, unless they changed/softened it for the final film (I didn't pay attention to what draft I was reading).

That's also my story, here. I started writing this shit before I knew of Miller's Girl. The tropes MG and Satisfying Afterburn share are numerous and almost complete, right down to the mini-flashback of Wednesday attempting to seduce her Honors English professor, Professor Fortunato. It's a common (or WAS a common, I should say) trope, the Precocious Girl. And as much as current climate sexuality activists would like to deny it, precocious girls exist, and I was one of them.

I did mention in my bio that some of what I write about is autobiographical, and that I was an extremely precocious child back in the 80s and 90s. Like Afterburn Wednesday, I was left to my devices in my father's library. Henry Miller (the author Cairo likes) was one of the authors that I was reading in not-so-secret when I was around 10, since my own father had a collection of erotica (novels and art). I suppose the perversion is generational. 🫠💦✨ He was not my favorite author at 10 (at 10 it was Dalton Trumbo...I fell in love with Johnny Got His Gun, and Night of the Aurochs was pretty good too...sucks when someone dies before finishing their work), but at 11 I became a Nabokov fan and at 12, Orwell and Highsmith (Patricia Highsmith was a fkn cunt/racist/anti-Semite, but I loved Tom Ripley); I wasn't as moved by Miller's Tropics (however, I was and am an Anaïs Nin fan, and her whole Henry and June/Henry & June thing was just 🔥). Some time before 12 I read the erotic books that I mentioned in the beginning of my story (My Secret Life and Fanny Hill; I bought them at a book fair, and yes, they let me buy them). I digress, but it's relevant to my fiction.

The erotica Cairo reads and writes is designed to do what it does in the movie, just as all erotica is meant to do. Afterburn is erotica too (and all y'all writing E [for sex] are erotica writers).

Also, Afterburn has all of the Miller's Girl tropes, except that 'Miller's Girl' (who is ✨cleverly✨ Professor Miller's Girl and Henry Miller's girl hyuk hyuk get it) doesn't get her man. Afterburn Wednesday does, and that's why y'all Greyfaces hate on me. She gets her man, just as I got my man at that age.

And speaking of 8 and rain (I hate this app, I fkd up this post and put it in my queue instead of saving the draft I was working on)...

I wrote most of this starting late last March 2023 through late April before I started to move sections into chapters. This part here was written at the end of April, but I transferred it into a different document on May 2.

Romantic/sexy rain trope is in 8. Couldn't help it, since Burton chose to make it rain whenever he wanted to...why the fuck can't I. Anyway, a very short fkn snippet from 8.2:

It being the 19th, I do not forsee being able to publish its first part on the 29th like I wanted (not with any of the RL delays/b.s./constant interruptions from Dementia Dog). And I will not guesstimate how much longer (just as I can't even say if I CAN go to the Lords of Acid, given my boy's condition 😭). I will have to figure out some other way of commemorating the story's official AO3 birthday.

8's list is updated bc I had to redraw the map to include where the 3rd part was going to be/what it's now going to contain. I really don't know WTF I was doing before, I should have done that from the beginning, since this is Wenovan's story. There are also now 7 sections to each chapter instead of 9 (dunno how long that will be able to last 😅...I would like to tell a thorough story with Afterburn 2)...the exception being 8.1 that has bumpers and a couple of brakes.

See how many unfilled circles/circle wedges there are in 8 (I stopped filling in the ones in 7 once I was rolling on)? That's what's to be written/expanded, and not one section is complete (though I think the hospital one (8.2.7) is almost/just about). Not to worry, there are only two sections (one each in 1 and 2) that remain a little murky but that always clears up once I place sections.

I gotta now herd some cats because those filled in pieces are everywhere in my Drive. I'll herd them into each of their sections. After sleep though. My arms are hurting like a bitch and I need sleeps. 🫠💀🌿✨

I've seen this photo before, since I'm a Depp fan (been one since the 80s). I think the piano wormed its way from my memories into Afterburn because I liked it so much.

ACH! That Satisfying Afterburn's birthday (and also mine) are on a freaking Wednesday🖤🕷️🕸️ this year makes it all sadder to me that I can't get 8.1 out in time. And that doubly sucks because usually my birthday is on Memorial Day or Memorial Day weekend when absolutely nothing is fucking open, so I can't get food. The one time I managed to get food because things were open, it was the same damn night that rioters began crashing and looting places like Target and CVS. I'll be able to get food this time, but meh. I want my story to just magically transfer itself from my brain to the gigabits that you're reading right now...you know, how a couple of my impatient readers believe it happens 💀

I mean...the most impatient ones act like I'm deliberately torturing you guys by purposely holding back my finished story file and headers. Why would I do that? Why would one think me to be so cruel? It's torture for me too, not to be able to concentrate on getting things written. I know all that is happening (well, only one part is a little murky for me, but that's down from however many there were before). Protip: Make your physical chart/checklist/maps. Pencil to paper, first draft. Notes about scenes might come to you, so just quickly jot them down next to the scene number/dot/line/whatever you use. And once you finish it, do it over again, this time neatening out the thoughts and notes that you jotted down before. It'll improve your memory for your sequencing/scenes, and often times you'll get an idea to make something more efficient by deleting a scene or you'll find that you need more space for better scene transitioning and adding a whole ass chapter would benefit your story (like I did for 8 here...having it in three parts seemed to lessen my anxiety about having to cram everything into two, and the post-Hyde capture Wenovan stuff is really fkn long...it helped me to breathe a little better, knowing that I'm not going to be shortchanging anyone, including the Nightshades).

Oh well. How should I commemorate it, then? Maybe a teaser? I think I have enough dialogue from all three sections for an audio teaser. I'm placing scenes tonight I started placing the scenes last night before I passed out in front of my laptop, so I'll have a better view of where things are, text-wise. Storywise I know exactly where it needs to go and what needs to be written (a LOT 💀). But that's okay, because I'm rolling the ball along instead of just dribbling in place.

I had to update the Spoiler for Chapter 6 Part2 discussion from about a week ago.

I realized that I made one mistake (ugh, I hate this) interpreting a very insignificant part of canon (the stupid light in Laurel'a garage vs. Wednesday's flashlight). I'm a perfectionist, so... that's whatever, doesn't matter in anything. But I feel like if I make a mistake anywhere, it wouldn't be right of me not to correct myself. Apologies for that.

Secondly, I stated that there would be no heat between Wednesday and her sheriff. That has changed significantly. They will have an earlier reunion, one that makes sense for them and how Wednesday operates.

I struggled with that. I would've really liked to have kept their reunion for 8, but then I thought...would my AB/C Wednesday really allow her man to keep her at a distance so easily after the funeral? Really? This girl, the one who fucking tried to seduce him in his office when people were bustling about during important chaos and who did eventually end up fucking him in his office when her parents were in/around the station, this girl...who broke into his house to seduce him and who then proceeded to infect every aspect of his life including his dog...do *I* really believe that this girl who really doesn't understand relationships, would even be capable of putting him out of her mind (and vagoo) or leaving him alone for long?

This girl right here, who hopped up like someone stuck a hot poker up her fine ass the second she saw him start to pass her by (after repeatedly rejecting his son)?

Look at that face. I don't know where she made the decision to act with him the way that she did--petulant but comfortable, wanting to be near him, and much different than the way she acted with other characters on the show--but bravo Jenna for that.

The answer is a resounding no, so smut fans will get their wish. But there is a subtle (but very important) point to this scene, so it works out in the overall AB story. For that, I needed to move Morticia's scene with Wednesday, but that works out better too.

Well, read my blog here and you'll see what the holdup is.

I wrote the entire outline (with huge chunks of action and dialogue) a year ago, so Chapter 8's decided, but not done. I recently deleted the 6-7-8 teaser from the work (hey man, I was new to AO3 💀) to make room for the potential (and likely) 3rd part of 8, which is a new thing...I looked at the map I made and there's a lot of action in 1 and 2, and Wenovan's real part needs to be its own.

My first plan was to have it done by VDay. Then it's by its first anniversary (the 29th of this month). I'm trying my best to organize my thoughts, but new ones keep cropping up (as well as disturbances from my elderly dog 😖). We will see, and hopefully I can get something out within the next few weeks/month.

I'm not abandoning it, it's my baby and it has a sequel in the works as well (which I started writing almost a year ago too). I've just been distracted by life, and within that distraction is casual writing (Miller's Girl is where the fic fairies...bunnies...have been popping out of the kudzu). I write all the time, whether it's MG or AB.

But THANK YOU new reader 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹 I can't promise the exact date right now, but I do promise that it will have its satisfying 'ending' (it doesn't end at the end 💀💀💀💀💀). 🫠💕✨

I have deleted the "Teaser" chapter from Satisfying Afterburn, since it really doesn't tell much of anything now (you can see and hear the teaser here in my pinned post anyway) and because I might need the extra chapter.

It has always been my intention for Satisfying Afterburn to have 13 chapters. Right now working on 8.1, 8.2. ...and a possible 8.3 🫠✨

I can't believe I've been working on this for over a year. Christ. I haven't even put this much time into some of my screenplays. It barely took me what...a few months to crap out Cardinal Pleasures? But then again, the storyline for that wasn't as convoluted as this monstrosity.

Afterburn was first published on my birthday (end of this month). So... I dunno if I'll get 8 out on my birthday or what, but I do hope to at least get 8.1 then. But I want to have all parts written and ready to publish before I publish, like how I did it with UVC.

I never published this one bc I ended up using the sexier one, plus the Easter Special was Wenovan-based. I have hundreds...hundreds...of Jairo generations. 💀

I will likely publish another Miller's Girl fic/the fluffy In Three Bites (working title) before then. Stop looking at me like that. Jairo is easier (and more pleasant) for me to write. I hate it. I love it. I hate to love it and love to hate it. I have the same relationship to Jairo that I have with the unwanted muse. 🫥

Doing the audio work with Donovan's voice/song helped a lot to get my motivation up. I was going to use it for 8, but the ficwives put their ideas in my head and now I can't unsee them too, so...it'll probably be saved, just as I saved the Big Twist that will be revealed in 8.2 (a secret I been sitting on all of this time). But when I listen to the piece I just melt into ABW's black and loving heart towards him and...ooo, iss so cute. It makes ABW want to just wrap herself around him and never let him go. But only after Tyler is subdued.

I never published this one either. I have a bunch of others like this, with a grumpy Little Wednesday in them. I just have a shit ton of AI generated stuff for all of my stories.

I'm still working on the poll question post too, but that's not a priority rn. Wenovan/Afterburn is, and deciding on a potential 3rd part for this has lifted some weight off bc there's still a bit of story in here and I don't want to feel like I'm cramming it into two crowded chapters. I'm still unsure if that's how it will be (and changes my header needs a little), but the space is there if I need it.

That's where things are rn. Plus there's that bullshit with the broken image links. If anyone has an idea of where I can host my shit without the links being broken af, lemme know.

ETA: This seems to be the case for chapters 6.2 and up. I have no problem seeing everything up until 6.2. Ugggghhhhh.
