zola bantu knots ⭐️

hiii im back and here’s my first hair of 2024! it’s a very simple but super cute edit of the base game bantu knots where i have added front and side braids with beads to it! im not an expert on traditional african hairstyles (so pls correct me if im wrong!!) but it’s often noted that bantu knots either originated or were popularized by the zulu ethnic group in southern africa. so, i picked a zulu name (zola) for this hairstyle! enjoy! 💛

Journey to Simfrica

This was originally supposed to be a HNY post showcasing the beautiful hairs that @saturngalore created and I was to test out but the update of 2023 rent edition happened and I have been w/o functioning sims game for over 2 weeks. Fast foward and I've scrap the holiday post and went with a Journey, with my sim and previous Saturn hair model, Journey to Simfrica for a girls trip and to see her Grams who still lives in her small village there.

So a wee late but here is my edit showcasing another freaking awesome set of Afrocentric hair called Adeyemi locs that can be downloaded HERE

adeyemi locs set 🥭

ever since i made my “for the culture” post, i always wanted to have more very unique afrocentric hairstyles in my game that were huge and just seemed perfect for editorial stuff. and i finally got the chance to create some myself with these dreadlock twist hairstyles as my last hairstyle of the year! i really wanted the hair to have different sizes and styles (because some of too big for cas without height mods) so i created 5 versions for a little variety and flexibility. im also so excited to say that these hairs work for both feminine and masculine frames!! im 70% sure that the inspo hairs for this set (here, here, and here) are of yoruba origin and/or west african influence so i chose the yoruba name, adeyemi or adéyẹmí for the hair. in yoruba, adé means “crown” and yẹmí means “it befits me” so together, it means “the crown suits me”. i thought it was an absolutely perfect name for this hair especially since @invisiblequeen also mentioned crown/royalty when i first showed them the hairs too!! tysm to my lovely testers and to really anyone who actually reads my (rambling) intro paragraphs…happy new year!😭💗🫶🏾

Hey, I hope you are doing well! Instead of using one texture for all of the hairstyle, how can I keep or use two or multiple textures on a hair? For example, I want to make a hair that has one part that is straight and the other part is braided. Is it possible? 💙

Hey, thank you, I hope you're doing well too! Making a new texture with combining different hair textures is definitely possible, I believe. But because I've never done this before, I'm afraid I can't give any tips on how to do it most easily.

I guess you just take the hair strands of the textures you want to use and add them to a new texture that is using the texture space of a Sims's hair and when you're done with it you have to color your texture in all the different swatches. Some creator have shared some psd-actions for this situations.

I am sorry that this is the only answer I can give to you, but maybe you'll get my explanation at it helps to search specific things online.

Testing v1 & v2 of @saturngalore upcoming hair. I had so much fun with this hair and was amazed I was able to find accessories that worked well with the fullness. All the following were taken in CAS. She works well with Very Large earrings, various hair accessories and even some hats as well, if you are ok with some clipping. The hair even paired nicely with a lil fantasy look as well 😍😍
