Pushkar Singh Dhami to be sworn-in as CM of Uttarakhand today, PM Modi will attend grand ceremony!!!
As per sources, Pushkar Singh Dhami’s oath-taking ceremony for a second term is scheduled to take place at 2.30 pm today. It is expected that prime minister Narendra Modi, Union home minister Amit Shah, and BJP president JP Nadda will attend this swear-in grand ceremony. The ceremony will be held at the parade ground in Dehradun in the presence of Bharatiya Janta Party top brass including PM and union home minister. He will be the 12th chief minister of the hill state.
Along with Pushkar Singh Dhami, his cabinet will also be administrated the oath today. This ends the long suspense on the face of the new CM of Uttarakhand. On Monday, the BJP elected him as the leader of the legislative party in Uttarakhand.
Apart from Mr. Modi, Amit Shah, and JP Nadda, Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sama and Dhami’s Himachal Pradesh counterpart Jai Ram Thakur will attend the ceremony. After the decision of retaining Mr. Dhami as CM, now the party BJP has moved on to the next job in their hands which is cabinet formation in Uttarakhand.
In this cabinet, at least three new faces will be introduced as Harak Singh Rawat and Yashpal Arya who were the members of the last cabinet has joined the Congress party recently and also former minister Swami Yatishwaranand lost his seat so the party is going to introduce three new faces in the cabinet to fulfill these vacant seats.
Probably, the three new faces could be former chief minister Vijay Bahuguna’s son and Sitarganj MLA Saurav Bhaugua, along with former chief minister Bhuvan Chandra’s daughter and Kotdwar MLA Ritu Khanduri Bhushan, and Dilip Singh Rawat who has scored a huge win against Harak Singh Rawat’s daughter-in-law in Lansdowne. The BJP has won the popular elections for the second consecutive time and has bagged 47 seats out of 70.

Ex-JNU student report card in Bihar polls: CPML, Cong win; BJP loses

Sandeep Saurav of CPML
NEW DELHI: JNU is a Left bastion. But three former students who contested the Bihar assembly polls belonged to different shades of the ideological spectrum. Sandeep Saurav of CPML won handsomely by over 30,000 votes from Paliganj. Shakeel Ahmad Khan of Congress easily retained Kadwa. BJP’s Nikhil Anand lost by over 32,000 votes in Maner. Both Saurav and Khan were notable student leaders. Saurav, 33, became the student union’s general secretary (2013-14) contesting on an AISA ticket, the student wing of CPML. Khan became JNUSU president in 1992. He was then politically affiliated with SFI, the student’s body of CPM. Anand, who lost to RJD’s evergreen Bhai Virendra, was a student at Centre for Chinese and Japanese studies in the 1990s. Saurav says that engaging in campus politics helped him in various ways. “JNU was a playground of student organisations from the entire political spectrum. We got trained in handling questions and attacks from all quarters. University politics also helped us develop the confidence to speak on a range of subjects,” says the Paliganj MLA with over 15,000 followers on Twitter. “JNU politics isn’t about getting better facilities for students. It is sensitive to larger issues: problems of peasantry, women’s empowerment, labour rights, communalism. We learnt to raise questions and mobilise the youth,” says Saurav, who earned a PhD in Hindi literature. Anand, 45, says that in JNU, he “learnt the importance of ideological commitment and developed a concern for people’s welfare.” Saurav ousted Jayvardhan Yadav of JD(U) in Paliganj, a living specimen of India Ignored, located about 40 kms from Patna. “I have been to villages which don’t have a single pucca home. My focus would be on improving education and health facilities. Paliganj lies between two rivers, Punpun and Sone, and knitted by a network of canals. They are in a sorry state and need immediate overhaul,” he says. Khan, a former JNUSU president, had triumphed in 2010 by less than 6,000 votes. This time he bested Chandrabhushan Thakur (LJP) by over 32,000 votes. His Twitter bio describes him as “national Secretary, AICC” and in-charge of J&K. Kadwa, located in Katihar district, grapples with the annual problem of flood and land erosion every year. A news report pasted on his Facebook page quoted Khan as saying that more roads and puliya (small bridges) will be built in the area.

#609 Tajinderpal Singh Noor SHOTput Gold performance was as GOOD as it gets; Won with games record of 20.75m throw; Saurav, Dipika and Joshna lose in Squash SF but win bronze; 2 Bridge teams assured of medal after reaching SF; Mohammed Anas, Hima Das and Rajiv Arora move to 400m finals;Indian women's hockey team outclass Korea; PV Sindhu and Saina move to singles QF in badminton; Badminton doubles team, Archery and Shooters disappoint; City held in EPL by Wolves; Barca win in La Liga and more...:-)

On day 7 of Asian games, Indian archers disappointed again. They reached QF but got humiliated there. Archery has been biggest underachievers in this Asian games. No medals so far. Shooting also didn’t get any medals. In Squash, 3 medals was assured. Dipika, Joshna and Saurav all had reached finals. Saurav was defending champion and same was expected of him when he lead 2-0 set but allowed his HK opponent to come back and win 2-3. Other 2 ladies also lost. So it was 3 bronze in Squash singles. Hope they get more medals and hopefully silver or gold in doubles. In Bridge, India reached SF in 2 events and were assured of 2 medals. Vikas Thakur who had won silver in weightlifting in CWG failed to get any medal. In badminton, Saina and Sindhu won in straight sets to reach QF. They are 1 win away from a certain medal. Would be interesting to see if they clash in finals which would be great for India !! India 2 men’s doubles teams in round of 16 and one women’s doubles team in QF. Unfortunately all lost. 2 men’s team had their chances which went to 3 sets. Commonwealth games silver medalist Satwik Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty lost 17-21, 21-19, 21-17 to Korea. It was 17-17 in final set but India lost 4 points in a row. In other men’s doubles round of 16 Sumeeth and Manu had 3 match points in final set but lost 23-25 in final set. It has been shocking set of results from Badminton in Asian games. Saina and Sindhu need to save the day again for India.
When India had a poor day, some good news later in the day brought smile to Indian fans. It started with Mohammed Anas and Rajiv Arora qualifying for Men’s 400m finals. Mohammed Anus in fact topped in timing in SF with 45.3s. Hima Das also qualified for finals in 400m. Indian women’s hockey team beat fancied Korean team 4-1. This is easily their best match in recent times. They are almost assured of SF spot with this win. India took lead early in first half but Korea levelled shortly after that. It was 1-1 till last quarter. That’s when Gurjit scored 2 goals to settle the match.
News of the day came in Shot Put though. Tajinderpal Singh Noor broke Games record when he threw it to a distance of 20.75m. Tajnderpal has issues in personal front as his father is battling with cancer. He never allowed that to distract him. Infact he looked more focused than ever. He told later that he wanted to reach 21m mark and never focused on medal which is a great way to look at things. His win was so comprehensive that Silver medalist just crossed 19.52m. Tajinderpal need to cross 21.8m-22m if he need to be in contention for Olympic medal and he is aware of that. With this kind of dedication, there is hope from Tajinderpal in Tokyo Olympics.
In La Liga, Barcelona beat Valladolid 1-0. It was a poor football pitch where grass was coming off the ground. It was not a ground which suited for such high profile match to be played. Athletico Madrid beat Rayo Vallecano 1-0. In EPL, City were held to a 1-1 draw by gritty Wolves. City had their chances but Wolves held on. Leicester City beat Southampton 2-1. Liverpool beat Brighton 1-0 to go to top of leaderboard with 9 points. They are 2 points ahead of City. Arsenal won their first game of this season’s EPL by beating West Ham 3-1.

Ryan International School bus conductor Ashok Kumar, arrested on September 8 on charges of murdering class 2 student Pradhuman Thakur, released from jail and returned home after 76 days in custody after the CBI found who was behind the crime. “I am thankful to God for delivering justice to me,” he told media after being released. His family said that it was a great reliefas their innocent family member is back home. “Haryana Police forced him to confess to the crime by using third degree force on him.. they also drugged him,” said a family member. His bail orders were provided by lawyers to the jail authority after 3 p.m. on Wednesday and after completing formalities, Kumar was released from the jail late in the evening. “After examination of the legal papers, Kumar was released around 8 p.m.,” a senior jail official told. Prominent persons from his Ghamroj village near Sohna were present the whole day at Bhondsi jail to welcome Kumar when he walked out. The 42-year-old Kumar was arrested on the same day that seven-year-old Pradhuman’s body was found in the washroom of school with throat slit. The Haryana Police had claimed that the child was murdered by the bus conductor allegedly after he failed to sodomise the boy. However, two school employees — bus driver Saurav Raghav and gardener Harpal as well as Kumar’s father Amichand had alleged that he was being made a scapegoat in the child’s murder since he is poor. Amichand said his son was drugged and brutally tortured by police to own up the crime. The state police claim was being questioned right from the very beginning – and more so after the case was handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation. The agency had, on November 8, taken a Class 11 student of the same school in custody for the murder. As per the agency, the senior student killed his junior just to postpone a parent-teacher meeting and unit test that day. Although the CBI has not granted clean chit to the bus conductor, it has also not found any clinching evidence against him. A court on Tuesday had granted bail to Ashok Kumar after his lawyer Mohit Verma filed an application on November 16. Additional District and Session Judge Rajni Yadav granted him bail on Rs 50,000 bond. The CBI was asked to submit the status report in the court after arguments by all parties on November 20, and the judge had reserved the decision for Tuesday. “There was no proof against Kumar and the court granted bail under Article 21 that ensures right to life and liberty to every citizen. There was major conflict between theories of the CBI and the Haryana Police and he was granted bail on the ground of benefit of doubt,” said Verma, adding the decision proved that police probe was shielding the real culprit and Kumar was implicated in the crime. IANS : 22nd. Nov,17
RYAN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL BUS CONDUCTOR ASHOK KUMAR RELEASED FROM JAIL ON BAIL AFTER 76 DAYS : Ryan International School bus conductor Ashok Kumar, arrested on September 8 on charges of murdering class 2 student Pradhuman Thakur, released from jail and returned home after 76 days in custody after the CBI found who was behind the crime.
