Alright, Maul is a light sleeper and wakes up with any small movement you make during the night. On the other hand, I believe Savage is a heavy sleeper and snores a lot. However, if he wakes up and notices you've moved away during the night, he'll pull you close to him again.

A small (not so much) headcanon

Friendly reminder, Jedi aren't suppose to kill their opponent. That means when they train, they train to block, counter and disarm opponents (both figuratively and literally)

So anyone asking about "attacking the sword instead of opponent" or "there was a perfect moment to win" about a trained Jedi, even the most aggresive like Anakin or turned dark side like Dooku, point that they fight of instinct and muscle memory and they were never conditioned to aim for a kill.

It also applies to Ventress, as she was padawan turned dark after which she was trained by a fallen Jedi.

It does not aply to some instances of whatever Grevious was doing sometimes.

Savage deserves to have a Nightsister darling. A little witch who's soul he can crush and mold into his perfect little sweetheart. Don't get me wrong, Savage is the nicest sith/zabrak out there. But I'm convinced he wants to get some revenge on the nightsisters for the hell they put him and the rest of his kin through.

StarWars/Maul Headcanon (I will not write this, it does nothing besides amuse me, but if someone does plz God lmk I will read it 10000x): if Maul were ever (unwillingly) reunited with his entire immediate biological family (Kycina, not Talzin, cos VOM, + whoever the fuck Dad is & the bros opress), he would become instantly, furiously, BITTERLY aware that he is at least six inches shorter than everyone else including Mom, and would reject them all immediately based on that alone.

Bonus points if there is a younger female sibling who has not yet hit puberty and can look him dead in the eye.

After learning about the story of Maul at the Orsis Academy, and the fact they gave Maul a mom other than Talzin before getting retconned I thought, what if that idea could still work, though? What if some other Nightsister had Savage, Feral and Maul, but Talzin decided to look over Maul herself given his potential? This could be a fun headcanon.

Maybe Maul's father was killed or something similar for defying the traditions, maybe his mom didn't agree with Talzin taking Maul and was jailed. Though Talzin doesn't need a justification for having selfish goals, it makes sense his original mother could have cared for him while Talzin put him in the presence of Palpatine so early.

Maul's original mother would've been doomed from the start, without being allowed to have a family, since she had to follow the traditions and hierarchy of the nightsisters, imitating the hierarchy (of only two) of the Sith.

Savage and Feral would still be his blood brothers which I find pretty cool.

And the fact Maul cared for Talzin without knowing where he truly came from would just be triple the painful. He would've been passed around odd parent figures his whole infancy.

Consider:

Zabraks have two types of sleep, one is light and they can be woken up from it easily. The other one is really deep. Like, you know ferrets go into this “boneless” sleep and you can do whatever you want with them? Same with Zabraks. But they will sleep this deep when they feel completely safe and since I also headcanon them as a highly social species, “safe” more often than not means with person or people they trust and love.

Imagine Maul experiencing it for the first time with Savage since he was a kid. Or seeing Savage experience the deep sleep and low-key panicking because “fuck did he just die or something” and doing every stupid thing to wake him up , which he obviously won’t do, so Maul just pours a bucket of water on him. And Savage only opens his eyes, looking like a very offended cat, says “Brother, why” and explains to him what a deep sleep is.

Random headcanon I think the Feral that Savage killed was a fake created with magic or something. It makes no sense to me for Mother Talzin end her own bloodline so easily just to help an estranged nightsister get revenge on Dooku. Even if they're not actually her sons, they are still Maul's blood, potentially powerful Force users. She was already sending one of them away on a purpose he would likely not return from, why kill the other and destroy a promising family.

Nothing fits him anymore after he's transformed: normal clothes, normal armour, a normal-sized bed, doorways -- the poor guy is carrying around all this extra powerful bulk but he keeps running runnels into the ceilings with his horns.

And I bet sometimes he just has a sit, and thinks about how nothing fits like it should, and he can't figure out why there's so much discomfort in it because he doesn't remember the time before the Nightsisters woke him up with ichor.

All he knows is that it must have been different even if he doesn't remember the particulars.

And all that is so short-lived because the brother he brought back from Lotho Minor is a handful and it takes all of Savage's energy to keep Maul from getting assassinated by those fucking Mandalorians and those annoying Jedi guys and that creep that used to be Maul's Master, and then in his last breath as the ichor seeps out of him, Savage feels all that extra tension leaving him and suddenly his body fits him again.

That's really cruel.

Maul Week 2023 begins!!!!! Prompt 1 is Nightbrother Culture, so I did some thinking about Dathomir as a planet, and how it generally sucks for a lot of things. But maybe it has some fun, naturally acidic bodies of liquid, like Yellowstone in the US? So my little contribution to Nightbrother Culture is tie-dye! Or... bleach tie-dye anyway. It's an easy way for the Brothers to decorate and personalize items of clothing with what they have available to them on-world.

Savage didn't get to bring any of his dyed clothing with him off of Dathomir, so he explained the whole process to Maul, and it can't be hard to get your hands on bleach as master of a crime syndicate, so here we are! Maul gets a nice new blanket. @darth-void (i feel like you're my go-to tag for maul lol)
