Happy Father's Day~ (for the Dads of KBASW)

Did you think I would be late for Father's Day (like last year)? Hahaha yes!

King Dedede & Banadana Dee:

I've kept King Dedede's Arc pretty hush (since it does dive into pretty dark territory) and Bandee is extremely integral to his change. And you can understand why Dedede's incredibly attached to Bandee (vice-versa).

Bandee is one of the only ones who believed in the king and stayed by his side. And King Dedede growing a drive to change... wanting to become someone worthy of Bandee's trust and loyalty.

After Escargoon quits on him (which affects & hurts him greatly), he promises to do everything he can to "treat dis boy right!"Which results in King Dedede treating him more like a son than his right-hand man.

King Fisher, Prince Fluff & Falspar:

As I've said before Fisher King adored his son to bits and pieces ... and gave his life just for the chance to be a father. And never regretted having Fluff... if his accident is what leads him to have his son then he doesn't regret that either.

(Basically, a near-death experience was what led him & his wife to be unable to have children... an accident that Falspar was blamed for by Uther & the Ancients to save face...)

After the whole debacle with the Grail & Faspar wants to make it up to Fluff, (even though Fluff has already forgiven him). However, that's not good enough for Falspar so what does he do...

This is basically Falspar's walk of penance (similar to his counterpart Sir Percival)... And he does this by finding out what happened to Fluff's mom for him. They were both able to give each other the closure they needed: Falspar with the King Fisher incident with the Grail & Fluff with the disappearance of his mom...

Falspar becomes a second father to Fluff he's affectionately called Uncle Parry by him (Fluff). Falspar's laid-back nature was just what Fluff needed in his life. Being there for Fluff gave Falspar this unspeakable sense of fulfillment... finally understanding what the Grail meant... and King Fisher's attitude of gratitude for him.

Fisher was always thankful to Falspar for his accident because it's what led him to have a son... and Falspar in turn becomes grateful to Fisher because of his son (Fluff).

Sir Arthur & Meta Knight:

As I've said before, when Meta Knight was born he was sent through the dream fountain as a living bomb by Nightmare. He (MK) would not obey him and saw him as a failed experiment so he expelled him hoping he could do a little damage... believing he would die on arrival.

He was wrong... Meta Knight's creation was blasphemy and the fact he didn't have a warpstar was proof of that. He was an astral that was born out of the creation of Void.

And of course, Sir Uther tried to execute him immediately... but Sir Arthur wasn't having it. Everyone saw a monster, but all Sir Arthur could see was a frightened little boy begging for someone to save him... (it was a feeling all too familiar when he dealt with Sir Uther's cruelty).

Not only that he couldn't bear to see another innocent being accused of treason *cough* Celestine.

Using all the knowledge & the lessons he's had (with Celestine/ Merlyn) he manages to convince the Ancients to spare Meta's life and allow him to take the baby in. And his new status as "holy knight" protected him so Uther couldn't do anything to override his decision.

However, the old toad had one last (pathetic) try and exclaimed, "IF YOU KEEP THAT SPAWN OF NIGHTMARE YOU WILL NO LONGER BE MY RIGHT HAND AND I WILL DISSOWN YOU!"

Uther had assumed he'd come crawling back believing he still had Arthur under his thumb. (Little did he know Arthur had changed a long time ago.) Instead, he turns to his old mentor "Then I would formally like to abdicate my position as your right-hand man."

Arthur turns back to Meta and scoops him in his arms wrapping him in his cape (the red cape). "And besides I'll have my hands full and won't be able to properly take care of this one."

"WHAT!?"

He walked away from his cruel master and never looked back. Meta Knight always saw Arthur as his savior, but in reality, it was Meta Knight who saved him.

After Celestine's death (or that's what he thought), Arthur was really struggling, and even more so after she was erased.

Being one of the only people who remembered her, apart of him thought she might have been a figment of his imagination. But he didn't care "Even if she was just a dream... then she was a beautiful dream..." and as long as Merlyn existed... so did she.

He held on to the memory of her for dear life... "that there was always something to live for... "Meta Knight was that something to him.

Kirby & Meta Knight:

Guys, I don't think I need to explain the last one that much cause... come on it's "Meta Dad."

(I'd expand on this more but then we'd be here for hours/ also that would be spoilers to KBASW: The Knightmare's End... I really got to finish the next chapter)

Basically Sunshine heals old lonely war veteran~

The whole father-son relationship between Kirby & Meta Knight is two outsiders finding this family within each other... and then in turn being able to make a safe space for everyone and each other.

Their Father-Son relationship ultimately made each other grow closer to their respective destinies. With Kirby becoming a Star Warrior and Meta Knight becoming the leader of the GSA,

Mr. Krabs (-> Mario): Krabs wouldn’t have appreciated being tricked with money like that, so going in he feels a little justified. However, upon watching Mario’s determination, and acceptance, he can’t help but feel a sense of sympathy towards his strength, especially facing death in front of his brother.

Dedede (-> Ashely): Dedede was pretty angry for being killed, especially by someone he deemed rather small. He was shocked when Red saved Ashley from falling, but a part of him felt bad once the two were both killed, their friendship reminding him of his own with people like Escargoon (and Kirby to a degree).

2D (-> Teto): As he didn’t see his killer (as that hand message was created by Miku), if we assume 2D thought it was Teto at first, he would be pretty devastated someone who he thought he could trust by proxy of Miku would do something like that to him. He’d watch her get executed, but he wouldn’t have much of an opinion. I say this because he often puts up with harassment from Murdoc, so he’d just be more or less speechless this is how things came to be.

(Bonus, Miku -> Teto: You know a bit of Miku’s reaction at the end of chapter 3, but for more detail, she found it entertaining but a little depressing. Even if she knew the execution was fake, a part of her didn’t want to see Teto partaking in it).

Peter (-> Sans): Peter wouldn’t really know why Sans was in a giant hall, or why the bear kept multiplying like a sci-fi clone movie, but it was a bit cool to watch, to say the least. That was, until the weirdo stepped in. If it was early seasons Peter he would be more sympathetic to the situation is all I’ll say.

Fluttershy (-> Brian): Hopeful their plan would work, only to see it cause another death did hurt Fluttershy. However, as Brian exposed himself to protect Parappa, she understood the sacrifice. She definitely cried a lot when Brian was being approached by the car, and a small part of her knew he was going to do something with the gun I believe, from what she knew previously.

Walter (-> Hiroshi): Walter Hartwell White pours himself a whisky and takes a big sip in lawful justice… sorta. He was pretty mad he was bested by some young man he hardly knew, and didn’t feel all that bad watching him die. Maybe it’s that idea that he would be okay with poisoning a child but that hasn’t happened so what does he know (dripping in sarcasm).

Retsuko (-> Kaidou): Retsuko was pretty upset dying so young, especially with a close call in the past. However, she can’t really bring herself to hate Kaidou, and got a bit teary at the end of his execution when Saiki showed up. She doesn’t know if she can entirely forgive him, but she feels horrible about the punishment he faced.

Yuri (-> Mai): For ruining her plans, Yuri is pretty peeved at Mai. She feels as if it was an “I told you so” moment as she gets executed par the death game cycle. Even if so many of her friends were affected. Although… No. No change of heart here. Those final moments were just human instinct.

(Bonus, Ena -> Natsuki: I feel like Ena would handle death quite differently from most people, being pretty indifferent towards their killer. Considering the circumstances as well, Ena is happy Natsuki wasn’t executed.)

Two Sides to Everyone

The Lor felt a little more alive with the survivors safely aboard. While Marx investigated the Halberd for any remaining monsters, Meta and Magolor tended to those in need of patching up. The civilians were more rattled than anything, but unfortunately, WolfWrath had finished what it started with the others.

Meta Knight supported King Dedede all the way to the infirmary. Dark met him halfway through the Halberd and took Kirby, following behind. The king’s rotund physique was difficult to keep upright, and his height made it even more challenging for the smaller Meta. But he did what he could, standing by while Dedede collapsed onto the infirmary table.

“How did those things get onto the Halberd?” Dark asked, leaning against the wall with Kirby still in his arms.

“They… I don’t know. They just showed up,” Dedede groaned, coughing and clutching his head.

"The castle had a teleporter for NME deliveries," Meta said, grimacing. "I can only assume they hacked into one of my systems and sent them aboard." He grabbed various bandages from around the infirmary, setting them out on the counter. Peeling the bloodied robe off the king, he began to wrap Dedede's wounds.

"They can't be that savvy. Escargoon and I hacked into their satellite pretty easily," Dedede said, shaking his head and pulling his hat down over his eyes. "Is that goon here?”

Meta and Dark thought for a moment before shaking their heads. "No… we haven't seen him."

Dedede remained silent. Without a body, they didn't want to assume he had passed, but there was little hope for any other outcome.

They were quiet as Meta cleaned and bandaged Dedede. His hands were practiced and diligent. No one wanted to push the topic further, the air tense with unspoken questions. Meta had a lingering accusation on his tongue but bit back as hard as he could.

Dark lacked the patience or tact to remain silent for long. "That thing—"

"Kirisakin," Meta corrected.

"Whatever. Did it take out Kirby?" Dark asked, his voice edged with anger.

Dedede gave an annoyed sigh and dropped his hand from his face. "I know what you're insinuating. I have my gripes with the kid, but I wouldn't turn on him now. Kirisakin went after him something fierce when he came back around," Dedede explained.

Meta glanced over at Kirby, unconscious in Dark's arms, before turning his attention back to Dedede. "What happened in there?"

Dedede groaned, shifting uncomfortably on the infirmary table. "It was chaos. The second those things showed up, they split us up. WolfWrath chased the survivors through the ship while Kirisakin locked onto me in the helm. It was relentless, like it had a personal vendetta." Dedede forced himself to sit upright and winced. Meta let him settle before continuing to dress his wounds. “Kirby followed after WolfWrath to save everyone and left me to deal with the big guy on my own. I could’ve handled myself if I were prepared!”

Dark tightened his grip on Kirby, his expression hardening. "So you couldn't stop it?"

"I tried," Dedede snapped, frustration evident in his voice. "I fought it off as best I could, but it was like nothing I'd ever faced. It had this unnatural speed and strength. I was nearly wiped out by the time Kirby came back. I thought he dealt with the thing, but maybe he lost it or something, I don’t know.”

“Well… maybe the crew urged him to help you. It looked like WolfWrath had its hands full with them,” Meta offered.

Dedede shrugged, unable to think of any other explanation. Not that it mattered at this point. "Kirby did most of the heavy lifting, but even he struggled. Eventually, it got the better of him. After Kirby went down, it came back to me. But by then, the damage was done. Then, well, ol’ Meta Knight got there by the time I finally beat it down."

The room fell silent, the weight of Dedede's words settling over them. Meta finished wrapping Dedede's wounds and moved on to Kirby, examining him while Dark supported his small, limp frame.

Kirby’s body bore the marks of a fierce battle. Deep gashes crisscrossed his flesh, marred with dark, dried blood. The edges of the cuts were jagged, evidence of Kirisakin's brutal claws. Bruises in varying shades of purple and blue covered his sides, and a particularly nasty burn scorched his left arm, the skin around it blistered and raw. That was a parting shot from WolfWrath he was certain.

Meta's eyes scanned the injuries, noting the shallow rise and fall of Kirby's chest. He was breathing, but each breath seemed labored, a faint wheeze escaping his lips. A trickle of blood seeped from a cut above his eye, matting the bubblegum pink hair that fell into his face. The sight was almost too much to bear.

Dark adjusted his hold, careful not to aggravate the wounds further. "He's tougher than he looks," he muttered, though his eyes betrayed his concern. Meta nodded, his face grim as he prepared to tend to Kirby's injuries, the weight of their situation pressing down on him.

"We have a minor change of plans," Meta said firmly. "No training, no Kirby or Dedede. Everyone is heading to the other dimension on the Lor. Immediately."

Dark nodded. He wanted to question how they were supposed to get to NME now, but he trusted Meta's foresight. A more contemplative silence fell on them, Dedede falling asleep from the fatigue of his battle. Dark and Meta had nothing more to discuss. It took a trial and a half to get on the same page, but a semblance of trust was built between them.

Once they patched Kirby up, Dark carried him to the room where the rest of Cappy Town was lodging. Meta Knight left the king to his nap and headed to meet Magolor.

As Meta entered the room, he saw Magolor looking up at the screen. He stepped beside him, following his gaze to the monitor.

"Man, I wasn't expecting it to be so bad… that Knight of yours is no joke," Magolor remarked.

"Mhm…" Meta hummed absently, his eyes fixed on the stars flickering on the monitor. He tried to ignore the Halberd's smoke and disrepair, but the sight eventually seeped back into his awareness. The pain of mourning lingered in his chest, intensifying as he thought of everyone they had lost.

“So… Kirby’s down, huh?” Magolor asked, his voice tinged with concern.

“Yes. He’s not gone yet, but he’ll be incapacitated for a long time,” Meta said softly. He finally tore his gaze from the screen, the flickering stars a painful reminder of their losses. He turned his back to it, closing his cape around him in a protective gesture. “Do you think we can still fly the Halberd?”

Magolor shrugged, trying to sound optimistic. "I mean, you’ve completely rebuilt her several times. I think you’ll be fine."

“No, I mean now. I can get her repairs done later, do you think we could use her now?” Meta clarified, his voice firm. Magolor’s ears drooped, and he looked aside, mulling over the thought.

“Well… you know your ship better than I do. But it’ll be a stretch… We don’t even know where NME is located right now,” Magolor said, cautious and careful not to promise more than he could. Meta knew it was a long shot. The engines were barely hanging on by a thread. But there had to be a chance.

“I’m hoping you’ll find it,” Meta replied, his gaze intense. “And once you do, we’ll part ways.”

“Really? How will we know you guys are safe?” Magolor asked, concern deepening.

“We’ll use NME’s systems to call you. I can’t guarantee it’ll reach another dimension, but if you pop into ours every so often, you’ll get it. I don’t know how long anything will take, and I don’t want to threaten Cappy Town again… you use your best judgment.”

Magolor hesitated, then nodded slowly. “You’re certain?”

“I trust you, Magolor. You’ll do what’s best for them,” Meta said with conviction, his eyes meeting Magolor’s. The weight of their responsibilities hung between them, but in that moment, a silent understanding passed.

Meta Knight checked on the pair in the infirmary every time he returned from the Halberd. While Magolor was busy searching for NME’s headquarters, Meta investigated his ship’s remains for any lurking monsters and made what repairs he could.

The Halberd’s damage was substantial. Meta, skilled enough to steer the ship and handle minor repairs, felt the weight of his crew’s absence keenly. He wasn’t sure how he would manage the extensive damage alone. He decided to start by mending some of the crucial doors. There was enough scrap from the destroyed walls to patch up what was left of the helm door. The rest would have to remain as they were for now.

It would take several trips to get the ship in better condition, but Meta was determined. Magolor needed time to locate NME's headquarters, and Kirby needed time to recover. Meta hoped Kirby would wake up before they had to separate, but he refrained from getting his hopes up.

Meta Knight entered the infirmary once more, finished with the day’s repairs. He found Dedede resting uneasily on the bed, his wounds slowly healing, while Dark kept a vigilant watch over Kirby, who remained unconscious but stable.

Meta noticed the flicker of worry in Dark’s eyes as he gently adjusted Kirby’s position. “How’s he holding up?” Meta asked quietly, placing a reassuring hand on Dark’s shoulder.

Dark glanced up, his usual bravado replaced with genuine concern. “It was a really bad scrap. Kid has barely moved since we found him.”

Meta grimaced and moved his hand to Kirby’s head, gently testing his temperature and checking the bandages around his head. His eyes flickered over the small warrior, noticing some small twitching and response to the touch. Though small, it gave him some relief. At least Kirby was alive.

“How is the Halberd?” Dedede inquired, drawing the pair’s attention to him. Despite wincing from his wounds, he was powering through it better than Meta had seen before.

“It’s operational enough to get us to NME’s headquarters,” Meta Knight explained. “We don’t need it for more than that.” That was assuming it wasn’t too far from them now. If it was in another galaxy they’d need Lor’s help a while longer to close the distance. “For now, that’s my concern alone. You need to heal.”

“I know, I know. You don’t have to keep harping on it,” Dedede waved him off, laying down and turning his back to Meta.

“Yes, sir…” Meta sighed, feeling a pang of sympathy for the weary king. He turned his attention back to Dark and Kirby. “I appreciate the care you’ve shown,” he said, sincerely.

Dark, who was cradling the unconscious Kirby with an unexpected gentleness, shrugged. “We have bigger things to deal with… And I never had anything against the kid,” he replied, his voice remaining gruff despite the lack of edge. “It’s you I have issues with, but I’ll get to exact my revenge after all of this.”

“You’re still on that, hm?” Meta asked, a small smile tugging at the corner of his mouth.

“You think I’d forget?” Dark’s eyes flashed with determination. Yet, the way he adjusted Kirby’s position, ensuring the small hero was comfortable, hinted at a side of him that was rarely seen. It was a flicker of compassion, a reflection of Meta’s own nature, despite the animosity he harbored.

Meta observed Dark for a moment, noting the careful way he handled Kirby. It was a stark contrast to his usual demeanor, and in that moment, Meta saw a glimmer of himself that his mirror form still possessed deep down. Perhaps, beneath the layers of rivalry and hostility, there was more to Dark than met the eye.

“We’ll settle things when this is over,” Meta said, his voice softening.

Dark nodded, his grip on Kirby tightening slightly. “Don’t think for a second I’m letting you off easy because of all our working together.”

Meta chuckled quietly, appreciating the resolve in Dark’s voice. As he prepared to leave the infirmary, he paused, placing a hand on the door frame. “Thank you,” he said simply.

Dark scoffed, the noise baring a faint tone of amusement. No answer was necessary.

With that, Meta left the infirmary. Their conditions were improving; for now, that was all he could ask for. Though he hoped to bid Kirby goodbye before they left, he was beginning to realize he might not get the chance.

There were so many things he should say. Every moment that passed brought them closer to the final encounter with Arcta Knight. Until now, he had barely considered what they would do with the head of NME once they revealed their true colors—well, truer colors.

This could be the end. It pained him to imagine never seeing everyone again. As long as Kirby remained to train and grow, Dreamland would be safe. There was some solace in that. But the thought of leaving them all behind made his chest feel hollow. He steeled himself against the emptiness inside. It was his duty as a knight to protect them, no matter the cost.

He paused for a moment in the corridor, taking a deep breath and steadying himself. The weight of his responsibilities was heavy, but he carried it with pride. Turning his focus back to the mission, Meta resolved to see it through, no matter the outcome. For Dreamland, for Kirby, and for the future he hoped to secure.

Gryll is just an occasional helper to the main gang (aka Kirby, Escargoon, Dedede, Bandee, Dark Matter Swordsman, Tiff and Tuff), since she actually came to Popstar to research the Star Rod, but not take it. So she just built a hut and watches them and their adventures and help when things get a bit too tough :)

the Meta-Knights were originally meant to be anti heroes who were admirers of Meta Knight trying to track him down, but I rethought some of their lore and I figured that they should be Star Warriors instead. Redesigned Axe Knight to be more of a shy boi and Javelin Knight is now a guy that got turned into a robot and he can morph into his form from the games to fly. The Meta-Knights went to Popstar themselves and constantly look throughout the planet to find Meta.

Time for da fluff boy >:) I got this idea from @cosmicwhoreo so PLEASE check them out their art style is so pretty and they are very big brain

Dedede has to go to an intergalactic meeting because ✨king stuff✨ and brings Kirby with him as a plus one to make things more fun, and they meet the other rulers of their planets like Queen Ripple, Claycia (and before you ask yes she’s a ruler in this AU cuz KATRC isn’t mentioned enough), and of course, Prince Fluff. He and Kirby don’t like each other at first due to contrasting personalities, but when they have to team up to save everyone from the Followers of Nightmare, who attack them, they get along well.

(And Fluff may or may not have a teeny tiny crush on him after that-)

Dreamer Joe Puddy thinks he's destined for something big but his imaginative ideas never pay off and in desperate need of a job, he accepts to be a security guard at the Natural History Museum. During his watch, Joe makes a startling discovery. Thanks to the unleashing of an Egyptian curse, the museum's characters spring to life after the building closes. Joe must find a way to save the chaotic situation.

Once the night guard at the Museum of Natural History, Joe Puddy is now a successful purveyor of infomercial products. Soon after learning that his museum friends have been shipped to the Smithsonian Institution, Joe receives a distress call from Arthur Morgan, who warns him that four of history's greatest villains have come to life and are planning to take over the Smithsonian first, then the world. Joe joins forces with friends old and new to stop the quartet's nefarious plans.

When the exhibits at New York's Natural History Museum start behaving strangely, Joe Puddy -- now the director of nighttime operations -- must find out the cause. He learns that the Tablet, which magically brings Speedwagon, Arthur Morgan, and the other exhibits to life at night, has started to decay. -Dedede's parents died when he was a kid (pre anime) that could explain why he had such a violent temper during the anime.

-The reason why Magolor was so scared to hear that Galacta is still alive is because he (Galacta) used to be a very cruel Halcandran dictator who terrorized Halcandra for a whole while until he was sealed away. Galacta was said to be dead instead of sealed.

-Talking about Galacta, he was the creation of one of the "youngest" Ancients, created to be the ultimate warrior, meeting their own demise at the hands of their creation.

-Adeleine and Ado are both different beings in this AU (yes I will die on this hill).

-During KSA for some strange reason Francisca formed a strange friendship with Gooey.

-Prolongued Dark Matter possession can result in either: Personality changes, health deterioration (mental and physical), body deformations or eventual death.

-When Hyness saved the three mage sisters, they thought Francisca wouldn't survive because of her fragile state.

-Sometimes when they have nothing to do, Escargoon and Meta Knight watch telenovelas together, getting occasionally teased by Kirby and Dedede. DDD eventually joins them but is in denial about liking them tho...

-Miracle Matter wasn't supposed to exist but because of Zero Two's fierce personality Zero had to create her to keep him in check for eternity.

-I said this before but Nightmare is despised by literally everyone, good or bad, they all are after his head.

-With that being said, Zero (Kirby aside) is the most determined in getting rid of him, and he did, but nearly killed himself in the process (heads up for another post).

-All inhabitants of all planets across the Gamble Galaxy adopted different characteristics and phenotypes according to their planets (Eg: Rock Star people being super tough).

-Kirby's skin is impossibly smooth, like plastic but soft and fleshy, think of those skin immitation silicone mats used for tattoo practice.

-Meta Knight is bilingual (Voice hc: Antonio Banderas in both languages).

-The Halberd crew used to be called "The Meta Knights" but the name was changed because it was a target of constant ridicule, even among the crew (still haven't chosen a name, Imma tag it as "the meta knights" for now).

-eNeMe salesman is a creation of Nightmare, technically talking, him and MK are half siblings.

-You know that clown from that anime? Whippy? Yeah, Bugzzy killed him and helped liberate all of the other demon beasts that weren't so bad and got rid of the bad ones, all by himself.

-Kirby couldn't talk properly until he turned 6, communicating mostly by saying "poyo" (a sort of vocal tic) and other sounds.

-Tokkori may have warmed to Gooey's presence, but still has huge prejudices against Dark Matters. Kirby has to constantly remind Tokkori to not talk pests about him and his family near him or to Gooey.

-The animal friends fell apart for a while because of personal differences and Chuchu's toxicity, the majority of them eventually got together for KSA events.

-Based on the hc that galaxia protects Meta Knight from possession, I want to add that is not only galaxia, being half demon beast helps a lot.

-Actually, MK being Nightmare's son means that he can deflect almost any psychic attack with ease or maybe even cause one himself (he may not be aware of it yet).

Okay everyone it's that time again lore drop...

Before the events of Nightmare's defeat... Sir Arthur and a scouting party were sent on a crusade to find the legendary sword Excalibur. But in reality, the scouting party was ordered (by Sir Uther) to secretly murder Sir Arthur. (Why you may ask a lot of reasons)

(This contains some lore from the Kirby light novel Kirby: Meta Knight and the Knight of Yomi)

But the aforementioned cave: where Excalibur was said to be located. Contained a rift to Yomi (created by Morpho..), the would-be assailant (& Sir Arthur) are pulled into the underworld... They are all scattered about the land of the dead...As the story goes: those who are in the land of the dead for three days become... permanent residents.

Being strong-willed enough Sir Arthur was able to retain their physical body and soul... however, he was horribly lost in the lowest level of Yomi (where the most devious monsters dwelled...)

Sir Arthur had been lost in the land of the dead for 120 years. Everyone had assumed he had died... However, this did not go unnoticed by Morpho... who wanted to make a deal with him...Seeing that he had endured for so long... (If they were lucky)could be just the soul (Sir Arthur's) they need...

Not only was he able to get his ticket back to the living world but also... Sir Arthur was able to find something he had long lost... for you see...he and the scouting party weren't the cave's first visitors.

Meta Knight & King Dedede: From One King to Another "Man of the House"

When I first came up with this I was trying to figure out... "who on earth is Meta Knight singing" and "Who's going to sing the backup vocals..." then I realized this would be the perfect chance to showcase King Dedede & Meta Knight's friendship. This is after the whole redemption arch of King Dedede near the end of the story arch... after the Forgotten Land Saga.

For those who are not that familiar with the KBASW lore. Meta Knight's story arc is meant to end with him becoming the new leader of the GSA. It ties the anime lore and makes it a major part of the story... along with Sir Arthurs deal with Morpho Knight~

Being an astral born without a warpstar (proof that he was a monster created by Nightmare...) was going to be killed the moment he (Mt) was born (by Sir Uther of course the little rat). But one lone Star Warrior believed otherwise, stopping the execution and convincing the Ancients to spare the infant.

Sir Arthur gifted his original red cape to Meta Knight to give him hope that he could be a hero too! MK was trained & raised by Sir Arthur... so he's more than just his mentor... his hero... his dad. Making it all the more heartbreaking to see Sir Arthur growing weaker by the day...

This is where the whole emotional meat & potatoes are in Meta becoming the leader of the GSA lie...( his dad is growing weaker and everyone is looking to him to take up the mantle) At the point of the story, everyone sees his potential everyone except himself...

That's where King Dedede comes in...

King Dedede gives Meta Knight the final push he needs to make him realize he is worthy and deserving of the position. After Escargoon leaves him, he sees Meta Knight as an irreplaceable person. However, this happens... but despite ensuring Meta Knight's departure from Dreamland he still does it.

Reminding him that he managed to help a raggamuffin like him become and grow into an acceptable leader surely he'd be as incredible as the leader of the GSA. Giving him the reassurance he needs to go after it.

It's a really meaningful conversation because Meta Knight and King Dedede have been helping each other grow throughout the series. Throughout the story, they realize how similar they are to each other... and ultimately become one another's rocks.

They're basically two growing kings coming into their roles. That is all I'm going to reveal before I spoil anything else.

KRBAY/HNK Head Canons (Robobot Addition Finally)

1.Susie disagreed to hurting Kirby and Tiff because they were children, but Haltmann was crazy enough to hurt children, so he denied her request.

2. The gang also runs into the cyborg version of Whispy Woods & battles the 3 Tripple D clones (along with cones of Escargoon & Taranza)

3. This unused design of Susie

is used as the design of her mother & Haltmann's wife (her real name is Solana which I got from this post on Tumbler (shout outs to whoever drew this))

Solana left Haltmann because of how greedy he's became instead of looking for their daughter. 4. After the arc there is an epilog episode where Susie needs to find a new job on Planet Popstar but has a hard time getting one. She tried to work at places like Kawasaki's Restaurant or Dr. Yabui's Clintec (where the otter girl got one), but it ultimately would end in disaster. Tiff, Kirby, & the gang tried everything till they thought they were done for. But then Maglor gave them advice to not give up and keep trying. (I'll explain more in my Magolor head canons ask) The gang took Magolor's advice and then saw their friend Gus, needing help repairing wheelies, cars, & robots (he had interest in repairing the fallen robots from Haltmann Works). Susie said that she doesn't know if Gus would be ok with it, but he said he would accept the help. and thanks to her help, Gus's work became easier. Susie & Gus have really shippy moments together. In the epilog episode when Gus first meets Susie, he was acutely kind of shocked that a chick would know so much about machines. He only thought from all the females he knew weren't interested in mechanics. In later episodes, on a few occasions is trying to ask her out. (And eventually she does go out with him)

5. Gus also calls Susie Sue & her design after the Robobot arc & epilog now resembles more of Gus' attire

6. There is a later episode/2 part where Solana meets Susie totally by accident. When Solana finds out that Susie is a dirty mechanic, she faints. She is absolutely furious that her OWN BABY is now a filthy, barbaric, dirty, (even burping) mechanic, so she brings her back to her mansion where Solana tries to make her more regale again. Gus, Tiff, Tuff, & Kirby then try to stop Solana from taking Sue back, but she ultimately takes Susie with her. Then they find out that there is going to be an aoristic ball where King Dedede along with his servants is invited (who didn't want to go but Goonie & Ranzy are forcing/coving him to go) So Tiff then comes up with a comes up with a plan to get Susie back. Meanwhile the biker gang from Born to be Mild come back & plan to savatage the ball. (Yes, Beat is alive but there's a complicated reason (that treated as a joke) why) In the end Gus proves to Solana that not all bikers/mechanics are bad people because there "uncivilized". After Kirby once again saves the day, with the help of Tiff, Tuff, & Susie, Solana then thanks Gus for saving her and let's Susie be the person she wants to be.

The Star Warrior Nutcracker Ch. 12: The Wedding Ceremony

The squeakers cackled as they bound the nutcracker to the stake. He gazed down at the pile of wood surrounding him and knew what was up.

Throughout the courtyard, more citizens were being brought in chains. Tiff gasped when she spotted a familiar group

“Tuff!” she shouted

The guards holding her chains prevented her from rushing to her brother

“Ah, let her go!” doc said nonchalantly. “Let them have their sappy reunion while it lasts”

The squeakers released the rebel leader and she didn’t waste a second. After a few stumbles, she reached her brother and embraced him as best she could without choking her with the chains.

“What’s going on sis? Tuff asked “Why are we all here?”

“I don’t know,” tiff said, wiping away the tears. “I’m so sorry, tuff. I came to save you, but…”

“It’s okay. You tried. At least we’re together now”

metaknight turned to the right when he heard a familiar grunt. He gasped when he saw who the squeakers were tying to the other stake

“Fairy queen!”

The queen met his gaze and cried, “Metaknight!”

“They’re going to kill you too? But I thought Daroach wanted to marry you!”

“So did i, but he said he had another girl in mind”

“Another girl? Who?”

“I don’t know. He didn’t say her name”

The nutcracker sighed “I’m sorry, my lady. I swore i would return for you, but i let you down. And now…daroach’s won”

She looked at him empathetically. “No, he hasn’t. Not completely. He failed to drive us apart”

She reached out her hand out as far as she could from the ropes. Metaknight did the same

“Metaknight!” another familiar voice called

The nutcracker turned to see the witch sisters being dragged into the courtyard “Drawcia, paintra!”

“Metaknight, the artist’s brooch! It’s the only thing that can stop daroach!”

“Adeleine’s brooch?”

“No, metaknight! The artist’s brooch is…”

“Hey!” storo shouted “Shut her up!”

The squeakers tied a gags around the two witches’ mouths, preventing them from finishing their sentence

Meanwhile, daroach was watching from the shadows, smiling in triumph. Escargoon ran up to him and tugged on his cape

“The bride’s ready, your majesty,” he said “She’s waiting in the back”

“Good,” the squeak king said rubbing his hands together “showtime!”

“By the way, is the fairy and the pink ball gonna be sticking around?”

“Yes, yes, whatever” daroach grumbled,waving his paw. “We’ll decide who stays and who goes later. I mean i have to keep some servants, don’t i?”

He took a deep breath and stepped out to the head of the crowd

“Hello, my loving subjects!” he greeted

The populace quieted down as they turned to glare at the squeak king

“It’s so nice of you all to join us on this happy occasion!”

“You dirty rat!” somebody called from the crowd

“You don’t deserve that crown!” cried another voice

“What’ve you done with adeleine?!” tiff demanded

“You can kill us, daroach,” metaknight shouted, “but it won’t help you earn the people’s respect!”

Daroach huffed. “I don’t need your respect! Your pathetic little opinions are nothing to me! I only care about one person’s opinion and you’re all about to meet her!”

“What are you talking about?” the fairy queen asked

The squeak king smiled and lifted his arms dramatically in the air. “This day marks the beginning of a new era! Today, we will be making a slight change in the government!”

“Didn’t you already do that when you took over the place?! Tuff spat

“Smart aleck,” daroach groaned. “No, no! This day will be different, for today, will be adding a new member to our cabinet, so to speak. today, my loyal subjects, you will have a queen!”

The citizens whispered to each other in confusion and alarm

“Oh, don’t worry,” he continued “You’ll like her. For she is the sweetest, most beautiful girl you will ever meet! And you lucky blokes will get to witness our glorious union!”

“Who in their right mind would agree to marry that pest?” tiff murmured to her brother

“You!” daroach cried pointing to an androgynous, young, spider-like creature. He has brown skin and two orange horns with brown rings and yellow tips, as well as shiny, silver, curvy hair; additionally, he has two orange fangs protruding from his upper lip, which is lined in white. On the front of his head, he has two orange-yellow eyes in his hair and two white eyes with a slight purple glow on his face, along with four more orange-yellow eyes on the back of his head. He wears a crimson scarf and a jagged, dark green cape with orange lining in a spider-web pattern. The dark green clothing on his body has two silver buttons on its front and crimson circle designs on both sides. He also has a crimson stinger-like appendage on his bottom and six disembodied hands with white and orange gloves holding a violin with two bows.

“Tarantula!”

“Taranza,” the spider like creature grumbled, as if he had said this in a hundred times

“Whatever. Can you play a wedding march on that violin of yours?”

“Well, I once did this wedding in fine fields…”

“PLAY!”

That jumped the jester into playing the march on his violin. The squeakers made a long red carpet stretch across the courtyard

“My people!” daroach exclaimed, pointing to the far end of the courtyard. “Behold, your new queen! Queen… Adeleine!”

“What?!” metaknight and tiff both exclaimed as they followed everybody’s gaze

Adeleine walked slowly into the sunlight. Daroach’s breath was taken away as she seemed to glimmer. She wore a sparkling white gown with rainbow streamers. The dress had round, puffy shoulders, a big pink ribbon on the chest and a pink sash. On her back are a pair of oversized rainbow colored butterfly wings. Around her neck is the same brooch daroach gave her and on her ears were a pair of Star earrings. On her head is a headband with two star-like antennas with a pink ribbon tied to the back of her hair and a light, translucent veil fell gently over her face. On her hands she wore delicate white gloves as she held a bouquet of purple roses for enchantment. Ribbon and kirby carried her train, making occasional glances at the pair of squeakers pointing spears at their backs

Adeleine looked around in shock at the crowd, particularly at metaknight and a tall fairy she assumed to be the fairy queen tied to two stakes with firewood at their feet

“Adeleine!” the nutcracker called. “What are you doing?!”

“Are you out of your mind?!” tiff shouted

Many cappies called out similar things. Some murmured to each other, wondering why this girl was going through with this

“Maybe she’s under a spell”

I say she’s a traitor!”

“I think he put her up to it with threats!”

She wanted to deny these accusations and shout the truth, but she didn’t think it would be of much use. She turned her attention forward and decided to explain everything after the ceremony

Daroach was smiling brightly at her, his paws over his heart.it’s like a dream, except that it’s real. Sometimes dreams can be real. He truly looked excited and adeleine might’ve been too, had it not been for the hundreds of imprisoned citizens surrounding her.

He took her hand and led her up the steps. Then he knelt down and carefully lifted her veil

“You look beautiful, my dear” he breathed, kissing her lightly on the forehead. "So lovely"

“Daroach, what is all this?” she whispered, looking out the crowd

“Why, they’re here to watch, of course. A royal wedding is a big occasion”

“Yes, but…why are metaknight and the fairy queen tied to those stakes?”

“Oh, don’t worry darling,” he winked. “I’ll set them free once the ceremony’s over. The stakes are just for…insurance”

She looked at the nutcracker and then back at the squeak king. “So…if I don’t go through with this, you’ll…”

“But you won’t, will you? He said through his smile, pulling her closer

Adeleine glanced nervously back at the crowd. “But you’ll let them go as i say ‘I do’ right?”

“As promised, dearest,” he said, raising his paw, “I will bring them no harm”

After a few more glances, she gulped and nodded “Let’s…continue then”

Doc sped in front of the couple with an open book

“Dearly beloved,” he recited to the crowd, “We are gathered her today…”

“I can’t believe she’s doing this,” tiff murmured as doc continued his speech

“Isn’t that the girl we caught with the captain?” tuff asked

“Yup” tiff nodded

“I’ll bet daroach cast a curse on her!” tiff declared “There’s no way she could be doing this willingly!

“What are we gonna do?” tuff beseeched

“We gotta stop this!” the rebel grunted as she tugged on her chains. “Ugh! I really gotta start wearing hairpins!”

“Hey!” the boy exclaimed as he glanced down at his wrists “Wha?”

“What in the…?”

“Shhh!” a small voice whispered

They turned their heads to see nobody there

“Stay cool,” the voice said in tiff’s ear, “And wait for the signal”

The rebel smiled as she recognized the voice and nodded

“If anyone has any objections…”

The crowd roaded in protest. Daroach and snapped his fingers to make the squeakers gag everybody’s mouths

“Nope!” he chirped “No objections here! Just skip to the vows!”

“Do you, king daroach, take this girl…? Doc continued

Metaknight struggled in his bounds, determined to stop this ceremony. He didn’t care what happened to him, but he couldn’t let adeleine suffer a fate worse than death

He froze when he heard a “PSSST!” behind him

“Hold still!” a voice whispered

The nutcracker looked back at the empty space and raised his eyebrow in confusion

“Come on, you didn’t think I’d leave you hanging, did you?”

He smiled and shook his head

“…for as long as you both shall live?” doc said

Daroach grinned down at adeleine as he took her hands “I do”

“And do you, adeleine, take this squeaker, to be your lawfully wedded husband, in sickness and in health, for as long as you both shall live?”

Adeleine could not find her voice. Daroach’s loving gaze urged her to say the words. But as she looked back at her friends bound and chained…

“Uh, miss adeleine?” doc said

“What?” adeleine said with a jump

The small squeaker tilted his head toward daroach. “I Believe the words are ‘i do?’”

She looked back up at daroach, who was biting his lip in worry.

“I…” she stammered “I…I…”

Daroach flashed the crowd an awkward smile and knelt down to his bride

“Darling, what’s wrong?” he whispered

“Daroach, I’m sorry, but…” she uttered, shaking her head “I just can’t do this!”

He stiffened “Why not?”

“This…this is just wrong! I can’t marry you like this!”

“Yes, you can,” he insisted,taking her face in his hands “You must! Please, adeleine…”

“I can’t marry you when there are strings attached!” she shouted

Daroach’s eyes flashed red and he scowled. She yelped as he grabbed her shoulders and shook her.

“Say ‘I do,’ or I will KILL EVERYBODY HERE!”

“Let her go, daroach!”

They turned and gasped to see the nutcracker free from the stake with his sword at the ready.

“Your reign of tyranny ends now! Everyone, for freedom!”

A series of battle cries rang out as the citizen burst from their chains, which had mysteriously been unlocked. The sqeakers were taken by surprise as their prisoners overcame them

“What?!” daroach shouted “How did…?”

His answer was given as elline and claycia materialized in front of them, each holding a set of keys

“Lose something, your majesty?” elline smirked

“Elline!” adeleine exclaimed in delight

“Traitor!” daroach growled

“Oh, no you majesty,” elline said, twirling the keys with her finger. “Don’t you remember? You laid me off earlier today. How can i betray you when i no longer work for you?”

“Doc! Get them!

Doc dropped the book and leaped at the sisters, who vanished before he could get close. He landed on the ground with a thud

“That’s it!” daroach declared as he pulled out his cane, bursting into flames. “These folks are all going to burn!”

“Daroach, no!” adeleine cried, tugging at his paw “You promised!”

He sighed as he extinguished the flame. “You’re right. Squeakers! Kill them! Kill them all!”

“No! You said…”

“I said i wouldn’t hurt them. And i won’t, darling. The squeakers, however made no such promise!”

Tears started welling up in adeleine’s eyes “Daroach, please! This is wrong!”

“They attacked us, dearest! This is just self-defense!”

Suddenly, a beam of electricity zapped onto daroach like the shock of a joy buzzer.

“What the…?” he said, scanning the courtyard. “Who Did That?!”

One the other side of the battlefield, he spied a pink haired girl

“Good shot, susie!” the blue ball next to her cried

“Take that, you big bully!” the pink one yelled

Three sisters dressed in black with with hair colors of blue, red, and yellow are behind them

“Alright, mages! Susie shouted “Ready!”

The sisters brought out their respective weapons. The blue mage’s weapon is a freezing soda gun, the red mage’s weapon is a giant flame cannon, and yellow mage’s weapon is a giant ring contraption with three taiko drums.

“Aim! FIRE!”

Daroach shrieked as a wave of ice, fire, and lighting came right towards him. He grabbed adeleine and pulled her out of range

“Susie!” metaknight called as he fended off a squeaker “You made it just in time!”

“And guessed who we bumped into on the way over here!” susie piped

“Waddle dees!” two voices shouted “attack!”

The nutcracker grinned as waddle dees came pouring in from all the quad’s entrances

“I think the cavalry’s here! Ribbon exclaimed before hitting a squeaker with a spear

“Shoot!” the squeak king cursed under his breath

“Daroach, stop this!” adeleine pleaded “I can’t let you…”

She was cut off as daroach abruptly lifted her into his arms and rushed to the nearest exit

“What are you doing?!” she screamed

“Getting you to a safe place!” he whispered harshly

Metaknight saw daroach slipping away with adeleine, but he was too far away to follow them

“Tiff!” he called

“Yeah?” the resistance leader responded after bashing two squeakers heads together

“We gotta make our way down the courtyard and stop daroach before he gets away with adeleine!”

“On it!”

She saluted before doing a backflip in the air and landed on a squeaker’s head. She hopped from head to head, knocking their owners down in the process. Unfortunately, the last head was storo’s, who was waiting for her. He grabbed her leg and tossed her to the ground. Tiff looked up at him smugly.

“We really gotta stop meeting like this”

“Oh, i’ll make sure it stops,” storo said, raising his hammer “For good”

Before he could strike, he suddenly stiffened and dropped his weapon. He cried out as he clutched his crotch. Elline materialized in front of him and knocking him down with a blow to the chin. Tiff grabbed her whip to fend off incoming attackers

“Glad you came back, elline,” she said to the paintbrush fairy

“Yeah,” elline laughed awkwardly as she kicked a squeaker. “Sorry about the whole backstabbing thing. I wasn’t lying when i said daroach had my sister”

The rebel smirked. “I was wrong about you, elline”

The paintbrush fairy shook her head “No, your right. I am one, without looking, she punched a squeaker in the face, “Bad girl”

And a final blown in the place below

On the other side of the battlefield, taranza was rushing toward susie

“Susie!” he called

“Taranza!” susie gasped

The couple zoomed into an embrace

“Did you bring your suit?”

“Sure do!” she chirped

Then susie brought out a pink and white robo mech suit which made tarnaza smile. She squeezed herself inside.

“Ready?” susie asked, powering up.

“Aim!” taranza exclaimed, releasing purple energy balls

“FIRE!”

They both released balls of energy across the courtyard, knocking squeakers down like bowling pins

Sword knight and blade knight are backing away from a pack of enemies, as was the witch sisters. Neither of them saw each other until they collided. They shrieked and turned to face each other, Their swords and brushes. They paused for a moment and then laughed awkwardly

They were brought back to reality when squeakers started closing in on them. The commanding officers stuck their hands out protectively in front of the sisters

“We’ll hold them off,” you make a break for it and…”

They were cut off as their enemies pounced without warning. Sword knight and blade knight raised their swords but before they could strike, a bolt of colorful energy shot the squeaker nearest to him back. confused , they watched as that same bolt took out the others one by one. When they were in the clear, the commanding officers glanced at the witch sisters, who were blowing out their brush wands

“Wow,” they both said in awe

Escargoon was pressed up against a wall, watching the battle before him. He wasn’t sure whether he should get involved or run. After all, he wasn’t a soldier, even though he was working for the bad guy

“Oomph!” ribbon cried out as she was knocked back against the wall. “Oh, you brutes!”

“Um,” escargoon said with an awkward smile and wave “Hey”

The fairy looked down at him and cringed “Uh…”

Their attention turned to the squeakers closing in on them

Ribbon didn’t get the chance to hit them as a whip wrapped around the squeakers and toppled them over. Escargoon’s eyes widened when tiff leaped on top of them

“Ribbon, the captain wants us to get to the exit over there!” the rebel declared “Daroach went out that way with adeleine!”

Ribbon nodded and dashed off. The snail was left frozen as he stared at the strong, confident blonde girl before him. His jaw dropped when she swipe the sweat off of her brow. She shook her head, allowing her long, straw-like ponytail to snap back and forth like a whip

She looked down at him with emerald green eyes and smiled. “You okay?”

Escargoon nodded dumbliy “Uh-huh”

“Stick with me. I’ll help you get through”

She ran close to the wall where there was less danger. For a moment. Escargoon just stood there in awe. Then he smiled and smoothed out his chest.

“Whatever you say, ma’am!”

Metaknight was almost at the exit when he was suddenly tackled. He reached for his sword but was flipped over and met with a pair of violet eyes”

“Your majesty!” he breathed

“Oh, metaknight!” she exclaimed, moving in to kiss him

“Not yet,” he said, putting his hand to her lips. “There’s still daroach to take care of, and it’s not as easy for him to stab me when i’m wood. Come on. Our only hope of defeating him is if we get you to the great crystal in the throne room”

“Right” the fairy queen said, standing them both up

“Come on, they can’t have gone far!”

Daroach was moving so fast that adeleine was running in his grip. Once they reached the throne room, she tried to break herself free

“Daroach, stop!” she shouted “Please! You’re hurting me!”

He finally came to a halt and released her hand. She gently rubbed it as she glared at him

“Daroach, this madness has to end,” she said in a low voice “You promised you wouldn’t hurt them!”

“And I’m not, dearest” he assured her, reaching out to caress her face

She slapped his paw away. “Don’t you ‘Dearest’ me! Do you really think i’m that stupid?! You were going to kill them anyway, weren’t you? As soon as i said ‘I do,’ you were going to burn metaknight and the fairy queen, weren’t you?!”

“adeleine, you must understand” he fell to his knees. “If i let them live, they’ll stop at nothing to destroy our happiness! He took her hands in desperation “I did it for us!”

“Humph!” she huffed, jerking her hands away “I was willing to give you a second chance, and you continued doing evil behind my back! You’re never going to change! Not as long as you’re wearing that…that thing!”

She pointed angrily at the bell. Daroach held it protectively

“What are you saying?”

She sighed “I’m saying you must make a choice, daroach! It’s either that bell, or me”

He blinked “what?”

“That bell is making you do awful things, and all because you wanted power! I can’t marry someone who loves power more than his own wife!”

He seemed truly hurt by this declaration “Darling, you don’t seriously believe that, do you?”

“Well, if you had a choice between me and that bell, which would it be?”

He opened his mouth, but choked on his words. After a while, adeleine turned away from him in disgust

“If it’s that difficult a decision,” she said coldly, “Then I’ll make it easier for you”

“adeleine, wait!”

“Goodbye, daroach”

“Please, adeleine, I…I love you”

She crossed her arms as she started to walk away “I don’t believe you”

She shrieked as she was suddenly spun around to face him. Daroach’s eyes were glowing red and his teeth were gnashing together in fury

“Who says i have to make a choice,” he sneered, giving an eerie grin, “when i can have both?!”

“If you don’t step away from her now you’ll end up with neither!”

He looked up at the group standing before him: metaknight, the fairy queen, elline, claycia, ribbon, kirby, tiff, tuff, sword knight, blade knight, drawcia, paintra, and even escargoon. Daroach greeted them with a maniacal laugh

“You all really think you can stop me? Me?!”

“Get to the great crystal,” metaknight whispered to the fairy queen

Daroach chuckled as he watch the fairy queen rush behind the great crystal

“Go ahead. Touch that thing. See what good it does you”

The fairy queen paused and looked at her love in concern “it’s a trick”

“We have no other choice!” metaknight declared

She nodded and touched the crystals. Light pulsed through the gem around. The fairy queen opened her glowing white eyes as the great crystal’s magic pulsed around her. Everyone was blinded by a white flash that spread across the room. When the magic reached the outside, the populace and the squeakers ceased their fighting and dropped their weapons

When the light had diminished, the fairy queen’s had been restored to its former glory. The fairy queen was adorned in a glittering gown and a golden crown on her head. She looked at metaknight and frowned. He glanced down at his still wooden body

“I guess you still have to kiss me for this one” he shrugged

“Of course,” daroach cackled “that was the spell!”

The group were aghast when they saw that daroach had been untouched by the magical blast

“But you should be gone!” the fairy queen declared, rising to her arms “or at least mended!”

“You’re forgetting, my dear!” He taunted, holding up his bell “nothing can counteract the magic of the bell! sure, you can break a few of its spells, but not the bell itself! Now that the artist’s brooch is gone, i am invincible! You may won back the land of dreams, but i at least get a consolation prize!”

Everyone gasped as daroach swept his arms around adeleine and began backing away

“You can keep the kingdom!” he sneered “I don’t need it anymore! adeleine and i can start a kingdom all our own!”

“Daroach, let me go!” adeleine screamed, attempting to break free

“Turns out you’re going to get what you wanted, dear, your little friends get to live in their happy land, and we get to live in ours! Everybody’s a winner here!”

“No! Stop it!”

“Let her go daroach!” metaknight commanded, drawing his sword “There’s only one way you’re getting away with her!”

Daroach’s eyes glowed brighter “A duel to the death?”

The nutcracker nodded. “Let’s settle this rivalry once and for all!”

“Very well”

adeleine shrieked as she was sent hurdling back to the wall. She tried to move, but found herself paralyzed. Daroach pulled out his triple star rod. Some of the others, including the fairy queen, rushed to assist the nutcracker, but he held up his hand

“This is between him and me”

Daroach chuckled darkly “Couldn’t have said it better myself, nut boy!”

More of the citizens and some squeakers entered to see what ruckus was about. They all watched as the two foes clanged weapons for what might be the final time

“You may have taken back my kingdom,” daroach growled, “but you will not take my love from me!”

“Funny,” metaknight grunted as he blocked daroach’s blow “I believe i said something along those lines you took the fairy queen from me!”

“This is different!”

“You’re right. It is different. Because the fairy queen and i actually love each other!”

“You saying i don’t love adeleine?!”

“That’s why you want to marry her? You think you love her?”

“I don’t think! I do love her! And she loves me! At least she will! And we’re going to be happy! You hear me?! Very, very, happy!”

For a moment, the nutcracker almost felt sorry for him. Despite daroach’s mania, he sounded like he believed what he was saying

“Do you even know what true love is?” metaknight asked as their swordplay continued. “It’s about caring for somebody more than you care about yourself! It’s about being honest and compassionate towards each other! It about making sacrifices not so you can be happy together, but so the other can be happy! I've crossed realms and risked my life for the fairy queen! What have you ever done for adeleine?”

Daroach let out a furious cry and dropped his star rod. He held out his paw which he was glowing red in his eyes and tightened metaknight. He lifted the nutcracker into the air with a murderous growl

“Don’t you compare your love for the fairy queen and mine for adeleine!” he snarled “I may be a liar and a fink, but i mean it when i say that i love adeleine more than life itself!”

Metaknight glanced between daroach and adeleine, who still frozen against the wall. Then he glared defiantly at the squeak king as he raised his sword

“Prove…it”

Using all his strength, he thrust it past his enemy. Daroach spun around when he heard adeleine’s scream and dropped the nutcracker. The golden blade was hurdling towards adeleine, and thanks to him, she was unable to move!

“Metaknight, are you nuts?!” elline hollered

“adeleine!” daroach shouted “NO!”

Two voices argued in daroach’s head:

Let it stab her. She caused you nothing but trouble

Don’t do it! she’s the only one who understands!

She pretended to like you just to save her friends

She cares for you! She wants to help you!

She wants to change you!

adeleine looked up at him and gazed into those eyes that were once filled with sympathy. now They were filled with terror, adeleine closed her eyes, waiting for the blade's impact, and it broke his heart.

Go on. Kill her. Don’t you want ultimate power?

Daroach narrowed his eyes in determination

“Not…any…more!”

Once the decision was made, he let the blade fly
