Round 2, Match 59: Fukuzawa Yukichi vs. Optimus Prime

Fukuzawa Yukichi:

1. “At about 32 he used to be an bodyguard for hire who only works alone then he met this 14 year old (Ranpo) who had no parents and was kicked out of the police academy. He ended up feeding him (I think Ranpo was homeless at this point not 100% sure tho. He is also a genius estimated iq as high as 200) and said he would help him free of charge (bodyguard) if he called. He ended up getting called and investigated something with him. Ranpo saw the world very plainly and cried to Fukuzawa about how scary it is. Fukuzawa helped Ranpo realize that not everyone is pretending not to know things they literally don't know what he does (big issue with Ranpo partly what he was crying about too i think. They have an entire episode (i think it's the first one in the 4th season) devoted to their backstory together which is black, white, and gray when it's from Ranpo's perspective until Fukuzawa helps him realize this and it turns colored. Fukuzawa ends up deciding he wants to create a detective agency (working with others!) with Ranpo not yet tho we still have one more kid first. Later when Fukuzawa's doing a bodyguard job he along with Ranpo end up rescuing a girl (Yosano!) from the man he was guarding (future mafia boss currently a doctor). Yosano ends up becoming a doctor for the detective agency when it's created. After it's created he ends up taking in another 14 year old (Kenji).

He also loves cats and has shoujo anime-esque cherry blossom flashbacks with his old childhood friend who asked him if he wanted to go to fight in war with him, Fukuzawa denied his request. They also have a like 15 min soft-lighting conversation while watching their memories of their childhood together in the latest ep.”

2. “This man literally created a whole detective agency for this one really smart boy (Ranpo) and taught him that he wasn't the one in the wrong but everyone else when he couldn't understand people. Then, he saves Yosano from the trauma this other guy was inflicting on her and brings her to the Agency. The Agency basically becomes the place where all his kids are. His special ability lets those in the Agency control their abilities so Atsushi and Kyouka don't have to be afraid of their out of control abilities anymore. He cares so much for all of them and during the Cannibalism arc when his life is literally on the line, they do everything in their power to save him.”

3. “My guy just CANNOT stop adopting kids. He went from lone wolf assassin to Dad of Many. His first (adopted) child, Ranpo, basically forced him to adopt him (he was like “I’m a teenager with no family or home. You GOTTA adopt me. Because I say so.”) From there he kept accidentally adopting every orphan he came across. Honestly the detective agency is more like a glorified orphanage except they let their kids carry guns.”

4. “A former Goverment assassin who stopped once he realized he was starting to enjoy killing people, Fukuzawa is looking for a job when he bumps into Ranpo, a genius capable of figuring out any mystery, who can’t understand how the world works. Taking Ranpo under his wing Fukuzawa tries a white lie that Ranpo has a special ability and manages to let Ranpo interact with the world without fear for the first time in years since he can know understand the problem wasn’t everyone acting like they couldn’t figure out things but that no one was as smart as him. They found the Armed Detective Agency specifically to use Ranpo’s abilities to help people and to have jobs.

He then saves Yosano from Mori, his ex something who after using her special ability to heal any injury as long as the person is about to die during the War, wanted to use it take control of their local mafia. Instead Fukuzawa and Ranpo rescue her and let her recover from her trauma and come into herself.

He then goes on to provide a place for Kunikida to fulfill his ideals, Dazai a place to do good after his own past in the mafia, Kenji a place to help people, Tanizaki and Naomi (siblings that don’t seem to have any guardians) work to support them, and Atsushi a place to work on his own trauma by protecting people. Fukuzawa later let’s Kyouka, another defection from the mafia, stay and work at the agency so she can help people and not have to kill them anymore. The entire Armed Detective Agency live in dorms that Fukuzawa provided. He also is very protective, putting everything on the line to help members of the Agency escape any danger he knows of. Like when Atsushi is kidnapped he bribes Ranpo to find him and sends Kunikida to rescue him. He sees any danger to the agency and its members as something for him to stop.”

This story follows two paths.

The first is Marjorie's. He was orginally a girl named Maria, born into the Brock family as the youngest of the two siblings. However, what only his mother knew was that he was the product of an affair. His nature as a prodigy earned him resentment from Kenneth, his older brother, but Marjorie had tried to mend their relationship all their life to no success. The merchant clan he was born in was in good business with the royal family of one of the nearby colonies, the Sumdac family, and through visits, Marjorie and Sari got very close. Everything reached their boiling point however as his already cold and distant father discoved the secret behind Marjorie's birth. And Marjorie, being raised only to be the poster prodigy child and having little room of emotional talk with his family, killed his father with 'Thorn', their most prized sword. After this kill, he battled his brother, who managed to gouge his eye out and Marjorie fled for Cybertron, leaving the family operation to Kenneth. Now, he is trying to find the Decepticons, believing that people like him deserve to be in the same exhile they are suffering through. Not because he feels guilty about his actions, but because he doesn't.

The second one is Sari Sumdac. Having grown up sheltered all her life, and having a strained relationship with her father, life was never as free as Sari wanted. After making first contact with Marjorie, Sari practically begged to be trained in the ways of combat, excusing it as self defense. Marjorie did so, the two bonding over their desire for freedom from their respective families' chains. After she heard of the patricide Marjorie commited, she was crushed, but was too overwhelmed to do anything. However, what sprung her into action was when she found out she was half cybertronian. Despite her father's pleas, she ran away from Detroit, and to Cybertron after learning that Marjorie was also there, with two goals in mind. Find out who she really was, and save her uncle and teacher from his self-pity mission.

When you guys write tfa fics,

She is literally important to me.

I love her and want to see her be an actual character and not a foot note.

If you say “Earth’s not even in the equation”, then you’re a coward because she’s literally half Cybertronian and there are different types of aliens other than humans she can be part of. Like her origin is mysterious and its generally accepted that Megatron had something to do with it. The specifics are blurry at best, but somehow she was there in the secret lab only Professor Sumdac and Megatron had been in.

The reason she is even half human is because her protoform made contact with Professor Sumdac.

It’s his DNA that makes her human. Therefore, as long as someone or somebot makes contact with her protoform, she will be born.

Obviously Megatron wouldn’t randomly take a protoform with him to grab the allspark, why is she there?

What if, and it’s just a thought, what if she was a piece of his own protoform? What if she wasn’t complete until she made contact with the Allspark to stabilize her. (If the protoform took more of Professor Sumdac than it would usually take from somebot because he didn’t have a spark, then perhaps she needed a spark for some reason or another, as Megatron’s spark was with his body)

You get what I’m saying? This is kind of how I imagine how things went in my AU, that’s right I just made this all about my AU.

Optimus gave a piece of his spark to save her and she officially becomes a complete being and a Decepticon. Bam.

If “Earth’s not even in the equation”, then critical condition Megatron and Optimus spill each other’s energon and her protoform makes contact with both.

Like he goes on a mission to get the protoforms back and Megatron’s there and blah blah they fight and her pod opens as they try to grab it.

Or it wasn’t his mission, he and his team were fixing up a space warp and the crazy headed in their direction and got them involved.

Since it’s barbaric to harm obviously civilian individuals that had no part of the mission, the fight tries to avoid outsiders since it’s not necessary to hurt them. But a protoform pod gets into Optimus’ servos and just takes from both him and Megatron.

Little Sari wakes up and sees Optimus first and calls him her caregiver and Megatron is her mentor. She’s still tiny but that’s because she’s either a microbot or minibot. (She could be like an alien rumba)

Hey Soul! Have you read the ‘Project Regen Files’ by Quiet_Shadow on AO3? I’d think you’d love it. It’s basically a ‘what if’ series about if the TFA Decepticons had won and conquered cybertron, the twist being that they regressed the Autobots back to their ‘proper’ spark age (the younger ones like OP, Bee, and Bulkhead mostly being turned into sparklings while the older ones like Prowl, Ratchet, and Ultra Magnus were turned back into younglings/young adults.) and are adopted by Decepticons and are given ‘proper’ childhoods by them.

A question if mine would be; how would TFA Megatron’s human kid react to all this? One minute their fighting with their friends team prime to save Earth and Cybertron from their recently discovered bastard tyrant of a biological father and than the next thing they know, they’re waking up on Cybertron - a Deception ruled one at that! - and from the news they’ve gathered, their friends had been turned (back?) into babies! Now they’re wondering and on the brink of a panic attack about what Megatron and his thugs have done and will continue to do. A main question that keeps their great pounding and their mind spinning is; what is he going to do to/with me?

Oh, yeah, I read it. I got hope they'll update it since they're still active in the fandom. I actually had a draft of a continuation with TFA!Ratchet and his Cybertronian SO where they're dealing with a Decepticons!win scenario where that happened. Now Ratchet is a young man with a young sweetspark (they were worried about their spark-bond since they've been together that long) under new management, and suitors at their door since he's a medic and the SO has a lineage that intrigues some Decepticons.

Slight deviation here: Sari is Megatron's kid. Because, c'mon, it fits so well~!

All Megatron's are territorial, TFA is no exception with his bougie aft. He would definitely fetch his wayward daughter, and he isn't above using threats to coerce her.

Sari has a Cybertronian alt-mode, but her father...

In exchange for going with him, Dr. Sumdac gets to live with his ill-gotten company and Earth will be left alone since Cybertron is the jewel of his achievements

To sweeten the deal, Megaton even dangled a few newsparks of her friends. He ensured that they'd be well-cared for with those trusted.

Optimus becomes her new brother since Megatron isn't letting the Prime that almost bested him go out of his sight. A little maintenance bot with far more courage and ball-bearings bestowed by Unicron nearly got the Slag-maker himself! He's curious to see what will happen with proper guidance.

Megatron has his work cut out for him. There's no way he can simply unwind and relax. Oh no, now the real work begins with reconstruction, subduing rebellious forces within the population, and transporting Decepticons back to their homeworld. Made more stressing now he has young bitties with him.

He can appreciate how spirited Sari is, especially as she digs her blunt digits into his seams as he takes her for a proper check-up. He'll eventually teach her how to access her talons.

Not happy about the state of health, but not surprised either. Dr. Sumdac was only a human and merely addressed her humanity.

Sari is critically low in essential metals and minerals, especially as a war-frame sparkling. Megatron has no idea where the yellow comes from, but her armature is supposed to be thicker, her frame larger with more coverage.

He severely dislikes the blue disc upon her chassis. She doesn't have the skill nor the experience to taunt her opponents like that.

Her weapons systems are far more advanced in development...

Due to the lack of so much, her growth prioritized a more slender, speedier frame and jacked-up her weaponry for defense since she didn't have any half-decent caretaker.

Optimus is at least in decent health. A surprise, considering the reports coming in about the remaining adult Autobot population. He does quite a set of vents on him.

The Decepticons don't regress every single 'bot. There's too much critical infrastructure they don't understand or need hands-on to maintain.

The warlord will make a creator-bond with them. It's only a matter of time. Their frames will fall to their biology.

Newsparks seek out creators to soothe their immature sparks and basic emotional needs. They need an adult to lull it back to parameters. Optimus is no different now. Blind, confused, and terrified. Unlike the 'bots that were reversed to their young adult or mechling phase, newsparks are too underdeveloped to retain their adult memories. Their bodies are ruled by instinct.

Optimus had initially fussed and wailed, but with time, care, and close contact had soothed him to burble happily in Megatron's arms.

Sari, however, is a war of attrition between her sparkling frame's needs and her fostered human independence.

If anyone were to see meal times in the newly created High Lord Protector's household, there's a patient Megatron spoonfeeding Optimus and a Sari mullishly picking at her own plate. It becomes a common conversation that it isn't poisoned. Enhanced with nutritional boosters and supplements, but nothing designed to kill.

Megatron is deeply unamused over the argument of maturity. He doesn't care that she's a teenager on Earth. Sari, by Decepticon laws, is a sparkling that's not even close to a mechling (adolescent).

Even accounting her techno-organic status and her "upgrades," the basic readings of her spark energy clearly puts her as a young child of his species.

Because of the sheer range of her abilities, Sari has a power inhibitor on her. The last thing anyone needs is for her to disappear in the middle of the upheaval and restructuring, especially with newsparks she has no knowledge to care for.

Sari didn't even know Cybertronians could have the equivalent of babies. She still remembers Optimus' confused distress over her blunt explanation.

It was one of the major points that drove Cybertron to war before the schism as the Senate tried to impose "sticter frame-schematics regulations to ensure greater workforce efficiency."

There seems to be a great discrepancy between the Autobots and Decepticons beyond size and flight capabilities. Megatron wasn't imagining things: the little cretins aren't as durable as before.

Many of his generals (and himself) had assumed that the Autobot military were attempting to mimic their civilian-frames over the eons. The fools didn't even realize they severely compromised the core-programs by all the extensive modifications of their own frame-schematics.

The compact size allowed Autobot High Command to throw all the available resources into their research, but impacted their life expectancies and immensely increased health complications.

When the extent of the damage was realized, Megatron swore in his office and had to order a new desk. New plans and interventions needed to be made...

Sari spends a lot more time in Optimus' nursery. Between a choice of Megatron or a baby, she rather have spit-up down her armor.

Maybe it's hope, no matter how vain it is, that Optimus remembers because he seems to blindly reach for her.

But it's different. The adult-Optimus always had a field that curled carefully around hers whenever she used her bot-mode. A steady, warm presence like a friendly hand on her back. Baby-Optimus spikes against hers. He tugs and yanks until he's fully buried in her, blanketing deep into her field as he nuzzles her neck.

Sari has to admit, he's a pretty baby with his bright colors and chubby face. It's super cute when Optimus' antennae flicks.

She whispers to him updates on the rest of the team. How Bumblebee and Bulkhead are a pair in Lugnut's and Strika's huge hands, that Prowl is under the care of a mech called Barricade, the twins went to Shockwave, and now Ratchet is a young mech with a chipped chevron that's still as grouchy as ever.

Ok idea for the TechnoOrganic on Earth TFA au, TFA team prime find out about the TechnoOrganics during the Starscream attack when a certain falcon TechnoOrganic(Air Razor) divebombs him

I'll put a spin on it; Starscream is firing his nullray at the humans and gets really close to hitting Sari. In canon, Bumblebee jumps in front of her and takes the shot but in this AU, Air Razor sees this and dives to save her.

As for why Air Razor would be in Detroit to begin with and why she decided to save Sari, even though it meant exposing the existence of techno organics to team Prime, it's simply because she already knows. I mean, you can't tell me that a whole society of techno organics would never be discovered. In this case, it was professor Sumdac that found them. But he decided to not tell anyone and instead asked them to help him with Sari, since she was like them. They accepted and promised to teach her their ways, hoping that one day she will serve as a bridge between them and the humans.

Anyway, after Air Razor saves Sari and places her somewhere safe she immediately starts fighting Starscream. The autobots look on in shock, confusion and surprise while Sari is just cheering her on, shouting at her to kick Starscream's butt.

But the Allspark doesn’t do it, and Sari believes it’s cause the Allspark doesn’t trust her with its power anymore...

One thing, however, that makes me cringe about that comic is that the only reason Sari was able to bring OP back is because the AllSpark was right there. So the key alone wouldn’t have helped and it makes me embarrassed that I forgot that. 😬😔

This is basically my Sari. At least in the eyes of all Decepticons when Megatron made a public statement about her being his creation via the allspark.

Some are conflicted, some are not.

While they do want to get revenge on professor Sumdac for what he has done to their leader, but the fact remains that he adopted Sari in Megatron’s place.

So when Optimus gets involved as another adoptive figure- they realize this tiny flight frame doesn’t know the Decepticon way.

They must obtain this charge and teach her! They also see how Optimus is at her mercy and is an adequate guardian.

He would be a good fit as her care taker when she is not with Megatron, so he must be taken too. He would do anything for her.

The seeker clones were easy to convince when they mentioned Optimus was with her.

Next was bumblebee- it was easy because he wanted to see Optimus and Sari again.

The jet twins weren’t really interested, but they accepted on the promise to learn about about the flight frame that they were forcibly modeled after.

While it wasn’t Optimus’ intention to be kidnapped along with Sari when he asked Megatron to make the claim on Sari in public- but it did help with his plan.

Now if only the Decepticons would stop trying to talk up their boss as partner for him. Just because he also has a claim on her doesn’t mean he has to be with Megatron.

After all they aren’t going after the professor and he adopted her first.

“The organic creature only provided the means for the allspark to do as it pleased. Which was to give our leader a descendant to pass on his will to. Besides, our leader despises it for what it’s done to him.”

“You on the other hand has played a more active role as a guide and with your spark- you saved her life even after finding out her origins. Apart of you is in her and that makes her yours just as she is Megatron’s.”

“We acknowledge she is not a full cybertronian, but our leader has already accepted and claimed her so we do not have a problem with that.”

“With all of that said, you and our leader now have a creation relation to her. If you become our leaders consort then she would have both her creator and her guardian by her side.”

“I’m not going to say yes to something that the other concerned party is not here to say for himself, but I am not going to stop her from learning about herself.”

“She’s happy here. Happier than she has before.”

Does Optimus randomly find Starscreams love in an abandoned station in a stasis pod? Why yes he does.

Does he explain human culture to him so he can explain the clones and their relation to Sari? Of course!

Do the clones cling to them when Optimus explains who they are and begin to ask questions they never thought they could ask Starscream? Yep.

Do they accept that this is their life that was just dumped on them now? Yeah, they were pretty cool with the whole “family” thing.

Sari talks to them all about human culture and Earth.

“So he’s gone…”

“Actually I revived.”

“Really? When?”

“The day Megatron was defeated. I don’t know why, but seeing him on the ground so pathetically just didn’t….”

“Where is he now?”

“I last saw him in his cave on the Earth’s moon.”

Professor Sumdac fully explains human reproduction to the adult bots.

“That’s not what Sari told me.”

“She is not old enough. She’s smart but I don’t want her knowing how it actually happens until she’s at least 13.”

“How would you describe what happen with Sari?”

“Artificial e-semi-nation.( can’t spell). Neither biological party were directly involved with each other. Megatron provided the material. I provided the knowledge. The allspark wants to create- something new not a replica.”

“Do humans often do artificial?”

“Some do because they can’t do so naturally. We have these ‘banks’ where we store DNA that is willingly donated. Please don’t confuse them with regular banks that store our currency. That would not be good.”

“Adoption is also common as some have given up their wards, whether they had no choice or not. An opportunity for those who do want children and either can’t or other things. Typically for some like Megatron don’t have a right their wards after some else claims them, but Sari wanted him in her life so there are exceptions.”

“What do you mean by right?”

“Good heavens we are going to be here all day.”

It was a lot and by the end of it, the professor was tired.

Yes he was just as much as an adoptive father as a real one.

The allspark creates. So synthetic human flesh and all that.

I’ll be honest, the way I see it- the Allspark was gathering information and taking what it needed from Mr. Sumdac. He was as much as a donator as Megatron was.

How are protoforms created? How do they come to the cyber ninja care? Why do they have so many protoforms? Do they just wait for them to form one day?

Do they choose when to form the protoforms?

How? Why? When? Where? What?

What is needed to created a protoform?

DNA strands? Robot metal? How many protoforms are there in total?

Ch37: dadimus prime at it again. Ratchet and Bumblebee finally talking, and Bumblebee slapping Ratchets head like he would do to the others. And then the ending where Blitzwing and Bumblebee go up into space, and they just hold and kiss one another. A fitting end to a perfect story.

I had to look up the month and day that the episode of TFA where Sari had her birthday that Soundwave appears in...

so I decided to have this drawing say that Sari’s birthday is February.

I guess me wanting to do this drawing might have been inspired by a Crossover Fanfic where Blitzwing from TFA ends up in the world of Hazbin Hotel.

the story is called Becoming a Demon, it's a Crosover between Transformers Animated and Hazbin Hotel, it's over at Archiveofourown, which seems there be some maintenance over at the archive.

anyway the story that is called Becoming a Demon, is by Blitzy_Blitzwing.

I’m still reading it, and I have a few chapters to catch up on.

maybe someday maybe I can make a account over there sometime.

I like the idea if Sari ends up in a Crossover with Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss, like her being a big fan of Verosika’s music but her Dad doesn’t approve and doesn’t want Sari to go to any of Verosika’s concert.

and it could turn out I.M.P was hired to take out Sari’s Dad, and Sari is able to save her father but she not only gets wounded, but in her weaken state and with little strength she has left, she follows I.M.P. back to where they came from.

and when Sari ends up there, her body ends up scanning a second or third alternate mode, which happens to be a Succubus, like Sari’s eyes could glow while they scan a succubus.

so Sari is able to change from her human form or her full robot form, or even the succubus form.

Sari figuring out that she had ended up getting a third alternate mode, she decides to stay in that form to hide her human form from the demons, both sinners and hellborns, and go and find the Imps that tried to take her Dad’s life.

so next month is February, so this could be like to say Happy Early Birthday To Sari as well...

not sure what Sari’s real birth month is suppose to be, so I’m still just gonna go with that month that episode which showed her birthday party and Soundwave.

My story is i am a lowlevel worker at Sumdac who, after saving Isaac's daughter, is given a promotion...which isn't exactly what I expected. The job is Sari's governess/tutor and at first i dislike the job because i see it as being a glorified babysitter. I find out sari doesn't have a lot of adult figures except Isaac and he's always busy. So I try to be a little nicer to her, like teaching her how to interact with normal people. I have my side hustle protecting my neighborhood from supervillains using a discarded prototype suit.

After meeting the Autobots and subsequently helping them take down Screamer I realize being a superhero could be a legitimate career I can pursue so I start to take it more seriously. All they the show I help the bots learn more about earth and i learn a little bit about cybertron too. Especially growing close to Optimus which becomes sort of angsty because he's afraid of falling in love after losing Elita.

Mainly I exist so the bots could have another female character on the team, as well as a superhero opposing the human villains while the Autobots focus on stopping the Decepticons.

One thing that drives me crazy in both TFA + TFP is that the main humans are given episodes to prove that they’re useful on their own, but the plots are kinda dumb and could’ve been handled better... 

*In TFA’s ‘Human Error’ episodes, the Autobots are knocked out and kidnapped by Soundwave, who’s trying to brainwash them in a virtual reality while they sleep and Sari is the only one who can save them! 

The plot sounds interesting right? 

Here are the problems though... 

Of all the dreams that Soundwave could give them, he decided to give them human forms... which doesn’t make sense, because TFA Soundwave HATES humans, so why would he make the Autobots dream that they’re humans? As well as given them each a unique human design? (Although Prowl’s design was a mistake, in my opinion and I don’t like that Bee’s human form is a male version of Kid Sari... Why couldn’t they have at least given Bee an original human form?) 

And then there’s the Upgraded Sari Sumdac... I get that TFA is trying to show that she’s still useful even without her key and most of her powers locked away AND that they’re trying to make up for Sari not being around most of season 3, so they want to make her the hero of the story... but I still think that the story could’ve been handled better or differently... 

Like for some reason, the writers decide that Sari shouldn’t get help from her genius father Prof. Sumdac or Captain Fanzone (because the writers think that full humans are the worst now), so they decided to give Soundwave the power to mind control humans... but why? 

Soundwave hates humans and thinks that they’re useless, so why control them to be servants? 

It would make more sense for Soundwave to use his Toy Clones’ music to control the other Earth Robots into capturing the humans, so Soundwave can destroy them all later... 

Speaking of destroying, why is Sari the only human that Soundwave wants to actually destroy?!

Sari is techno-organic, has powerful weapons and Allspark Energy flowing inside of her, it would make more sense for Soundwave to try knocking her out and capturing her instead, so he can brainwash her with her Autobot Team... but he doesn’t even try! 

He tries to destroy her, when he realizes that the mind control that effects humans doesn’t work on half-cybertronian Sari... but again, he could’ve tried capturing her and brainwashing her while she’s asleep with the Autobots... but nope! 

Maybe he’s salty about Sari once owning him as a toy, but mind controlling and ‘owning’ her could’ve been the ULTIMATE WAY of getting revenge, instead of simply destroying her! 

One last thing, Soundwave’s upgraded mind control makes no sense... In his first episode, Soundwave’s music could only control non-sentient Earth Robots... But in ‘Human Error’, the music can somehow control humans now, and the music only effects Autobots when they’re sleeping? 

It honestly doesn’t make any sense to me! 

It’s obviously the episode trying to say: “SEE?! It’s a great thing that Sari is techno-organic! Aren’t you glad she is?” 

Organic Human Brains are easier to control then the robot brains of the Autobots? 

I know that Autobots probably have ancient alien parts in their brains, which makes them harder for Soundwave to control, but still! 

Robot parts and controlling them are what Soundwave is used to... 

If anything, human brains should be harder for TFA Soundwave to control then Autobot Brains, in my opinion! 

*And now for TFP’s ‘Scrapheap’... the episode with the Scarplets... 

Scarplets are creatures that eat on metal, including Autobot Metal! (Great thing, that Sari doesn’t exist in this world...) 

But they don’t attack creatures made of meat, even when the meat creatures attack them... so the human kids attack them to protect the Autobots. (Even though their help actually doesn’t do much, since the scraplets can fly and there’s possibly hundreds of them...) 

(The kids are actually lucky that they’re on a kid’s show, because if the scarplets reacted like how any wild animals reacts to being attacked... yeah, they’d all be goners! XD) 

The episode is basically trying to say “SEE?! The human kids are useful! Aren’t you glad they exist?” 

But here’s the thing, the human kids aren’t the Autobots only allies... 

They literally have the american goverment (and Fowler) on their side, some human agents or soldiers could easily take their place. 

And even if they couldn’t, Fowler can still take their place! 

He might be one guy, but an adult is stronger and faster than 3 teens.

And the Autobots only needed one pair of human hands to reactivate their computer and portals. 

Literally any human could’ve done that job! 

*I’m not saying that the human allies should NEVER be useful or be the heroes of the story... but the stories (and characters in some cases) should at least be interesting and smarter...

ok im gonna throw my own spicy hot/mildly seasoned question into the pile. uh. what do u think of how humans are handled in tf

Within the shows I've seen humans tend to be more annoying than anything. We all know tf was created to sell toys, so getting kids interested is like first and foremost to Hasbro. So when shows include kid characters they're written as basic character archetype rather than being a fully fleshed out character. Think about how Raf is the child prodigy, Jack is the wannabe cool guy, and Miko is the alternative "not like other girls" archetypes.

When it comes to adults, however... Ugh. Can we stop with the military? I get these are giant alien robots, but using the same "oh aliens, we HAVE to experiment on them or else" is boring bc they keep doing it the Exact Same Way each time the trope is used!!! I think the only version of this that TF has done was in TFP in the episodes where the autobots save Breakdown. Speaking of TFP, I do respect the hell out of them for committing to the darker storytelling and having a human die one screen in one of the Best episodes of the series.

My love for TFP aside, humans usually suck in the cartoons and they suck in (most of) the movies. I think the only humans I consistently like are Charlie Watson, Sari Sumdac, and Denny and Russell Clay (I have a soft spot for RID15 don't @ me)

My opinion is extremely limited, but out of all the Transformers cartoons I've watched (G1, TFP, and TFA), TFA had by far the best introduction episodes/arc of all of them.

Really solid character intros that established personalities, fighting styles, and team dynamic-- for both the Autobots and Decepticons

Optimus especially is *chef kiss* because he's basically the smartest and most badass of all of them. Due to his academy training of course, but I was wowed by him saving his teammates while working on the bridge, and then his level of bravery and quick thinking while fucking MEGATRON was attacking his ship was amazing. A living legend/nightmare was on board and Optimus was just like "THIS IS CYBERTRON" and kicked Megatron out of the airlock

Also, Megatron being half blown up missing an arm but still being intimidating as fuck

The Cybertronian's impact on Earth actually having an impact on human society. Sumdac creating a new robotic age for Earth using technology from Megatron's head, and the Autobots becoming Detroit's local emergency response crew. I know one of the Transformers catch-phrases is literally "robots in disguise" but honestly I think them being known to humans and having a wide societal impact is so much more interesting

A human sidekick that not only has a plausible reason to be involved with the Cybertronian conflicts, but is also clever and helpful and makes an impact on the Autobot team even though she isn't as physically imposing. Sari is best girl.

There's probably more but I can't remember much atm. A lot of my squealing applies more to the series as a whole than just the first three episodes, but yeah. I know I don't talk much about TFA but it was definitely a fantastic introduction to TF for me as a new fan.

Transformers Animated: Morning After: Chapter 15: A Small Reprieve

Three months had flown by since the arrival of the Cybertronian robots known as Autobots.

She had barely felt it. One day she was just a normal girl working towards her next pay check, the next she couldn’t wait to clock out and run for one of six vehicles waiting for her. Usually it was one of two cars, a white with orange accents or yellow one with a black pinstripe across the hood and roof.

Currently Tyla stood at the drive-thru ordering window, resting her cheek on her hand as she went over the usual routine of ‘welcome to Burger Bot, may I take your order?’ Of course she may, why else would people bother driving through a place meant to give them what they ordered off the menu?

Because of multiple incidents of the order-window bot getting orders wrong on a regular basis, the owner of the place had resorted to only relying on his fellow human beings to get the job done right. As annoying as the customers could be, she knew she should be grateful. One less employed robot meant one more employed human. She just wished the pay – and customers – were better.

With her eyes shut, Tyla dreamed of the next few minutes just passing by where she could take her apron and just toss it aside without a care in the world for the next remaining nine hours. As if to ruin her daydream, the tell-tale sound hum of an engine sounded on the other side of her lids.

She sighed to herself. Time to get back to work.

“Welcome to Burger Bot, may I take your order?”

“Yeah. I’d like your butt out of that booth and in here with me already,” a young male voice said, nearly causing Tyla’s eyebrow to twitch. It wasn’t unusual for her or any of the staff – mostly the females – to be harassed by customers who thought that it was perfectly okay for them to just treat them like they weren’t worth the time it took telling them what they wanted.

Just as Tyla opened her eyes, the car’s window rolled down to reveal Sari’s grinning face. Tyla’s jaw nearly dropped at the sight.

“It can’t be, can it?” Tyla asked, looking to the clock on the wall that showed it was exactly one minute past three. Her shift was finally over. Grinning to herself, Tyla couldn’t get her apron off fast enough.

Grabbing her punch card, Tyla jammed it into the clocker before she put her foot on the window’s counter and nearly jumped through the two open windows to her freedom with a two-fingered salute to the forehead to her gawking co-workers.

Oh how she loved those expressions. She wanted nothing more than to tell all of them that she, Tyla, a girl no one expected anything of except doing her job, was hanging out with giant alien robots on a daily basis. Save for the days she had double shifts, which usually led to her heading straight home and crashing on her bed for the night. Today wasn’t going to be one of those days. Not by a long shot.

“Thanks for the pickup Bee,” Tyla said the moment his seatbelt wrapped around her, securing her behind the steering wheel. Being an automated vehicle from another planet meant that Bumblebee didn’t need anyone to physically move him around, but she found that she rather enjoyed sitting in that specific seat. It calmed her.

“No problem,” the radio beeped with a bright blue light across the panel, “so where are we heading today?”

“Hm, dunno. Sari?”

“The base. I got this wicked new flight drone that I’ve been waiting all day to try out.”

“Well, you heard the girl, Bee. Off to the base we go!”

The yellow Autobot didn’t need any more encouragement than that as he put himself in gear and drove out of the waiting line, letting the car behind him pull up for the next sucker in line to listen to what they wanted. Tapping her fingers against the wheel, Tyla closed her eyes and tilted her head back. Yup, it was official. Any place was better than spending another minute locked up in that small cage behind her.
