Closer, "clearer" photos of my Very Cool DZS-007 head sculpt, borrowing my Ken's DAM-toys body. He's painted a bit differently than the original release from 2015, if I recall correctly. I got that HS as a birthday gift, or Xmas gift from my BFF a few years ago. I had lost hope of ever finding a legit one for a decent price, so I had stopped looking, then I got him as a gift. Now I got this one myself to repaint, but I'm kind of second guessing myself a little. I love the sculpt, I think it's beautiful. However, I am not sure I love how they painted this one. I like the way they did the eyebrows better on the newer release, which is called "Holy Man Returns." I believe it is a character from a licensed Chinese computer game. However, I feel the first one looks more like a CGI character, and this one looks a bit too close to a real-life celebrity, and I am not a fan of that. I like the first release paint apps a lot better as a whole, particularly the eyes, lips and shading/blushing.

On the other hand, I got this one specifically for repainting, but this one is also really nicely painted, so I am a bit torn. I feel like I will end up repainting him anyway, because that's the reason why I got him, even if I regret it later. I can always try getting another head-sculpt loose like this one, but holey-freaking heck, these are so expensive already second market (he just barely released recently!). Kind of annoying that niche hobbies get such insane prices as there are more people interested in them, when I recall loose HS going for so cheap in the old days. (old-grumpy-fart-complaining-about-life!)

Last shot is a comparison between my own original release head sculpt of the "Holy Man" figure, and this second release. They both came with a sculpt with the eyes closed for the "deluxe" set, but I never had any intention of getting those heads. I kind of wanted to get one this time, but not at the crazy prices these are going for. I don't do fake copies, so the only way to get a legit one is for an eye off the face, and I don't feel like I can justify it. When it's just a pretty-looking sculpt for me, and not one based on a character I love -- just the opened eyed one is enough, I feel like.

Remember I finally got my dream figure back in September, Rhyme Mode Ren? Well, we're in the process of moving today, and I can't wait to set him up~ He's been sitting in his box because DAMN IS IT FUCKING HUGE. I'll post pictures when he's finally put together and placed 🤗. If you don't know the story, I put an ad hunt on MFC for it with very low hopes and expectations of it actually getting a decent look, since this figure is about $200-$300 now. It was released in 2014 and is a huge scale figure. I'll post his GSC info link in an edit later. He is a WonHobbySelect, making him a special-made scale (typically elaborate and of high quality making it usually coveted), and they are usually not rereleased like normal scales/nendos. So it's a one and done. Anyway, the first person to contact me about it offered me theirs for roughly the same price it went for 5 years ago, $150 (no shipping). Now, they were located in Poland and had offered in Euros, so when I saw the conversion, I had to make sure we had the right currency and they knew what they had (fig+munz) compared to what they were offering me. They sent a total of 12 pictures that covered every possible location of a possible scam (i.e his cape comes off, so hidden damage). The shipping wasn't even the cutthroat part. I had actually overpaid them, so they returned some. In all, I got this figure as if it was just released 5 years ago today. I am so thankful and grateful for the kind individual who not only made my dream come true, but didn't scam me either considering it seemed almost too good to be true. I was broke for 2 weeks. I repainted my 1:6 GT Sephiroth’s irises, once again! I am super happy with how he’s looking. Not so much with the work I did, I somehow managed to do a complete sh1t job on the right iris, sclera and eye as a whole, then I ended up f-ing it up even worse with the gloss and doming. I know it could be a thousand times better, but I can’t do something cleaner and more detailed. I just don’t have the steady hands needed, for precise clean painting at this scale. I don’t mind the left eye, and if both eyes looked the same, I would be delighted. However, the right eye is awful, and I’ll have to redo it at some point in the future. For now, I’m just happy, with how he currently looks. The irises are so much brighter and greener IRL, I was aiming for cyan in all honesty, but oh well. I’ll leave them like this for a while. There’s some cyan blue in there, it just wants to show up as green. Might just be my lighting, my cameras, or me sucking at all these. DX

I can redo him as often as I want, I just don’t mind him looking like this for a while. I am happy I wiped his factory paint clean. I love how he photographs now, from every angle. Before it was a bit weird from some angles. I suck at taking photos however, so maybe that was all there was.
