What's that anime you watched as a teen that you were obsessed with that formed a significant part of your tastes and these days you realise literally wasn't even good however you're still overly attached to it

Alternatively if you have no idea what I'm talking about and my experiences aren't universal, then what's your favourite anime in general

you will literally never anticipate what that teenager anime was for me. It’s prince of tennis and I have rewatched the whole thing including OVAs etc at least 2 times and it fucking sucks ass every time but for some reason this total dogwater anime is special to me </3

my favorite one in general is hard to think of because i usually just end up reading the mangas instead. the one that is coming to my mind though is dorohedoro, i think the anime managed to keep a unique style and the setting goes hard

What are your thoughts on the story of uni2? Specifically about whether you think it was well-written and a good sequel to uni1

It's. A lot. And at the same time, not enough. Details under the cut.

It really feels like the game was either rushed or had corners cut in terms of story content, considering how much less of it we have. No Chronicle Mode at launch is one thing, but even the arcade modes have less content within them and even less dialogue that's actually interesting. I think the writing for characters like Phonon and especially Nanase got more "normal" in comparison to their previous arcade modes which is at least something I appreciate. Thank you French Bread, I guess. But in return, Erika and Vatista got the short end of the stick. We can never have it all...

Hyde's metric ton of death foreshadowing seems to have went down the garbage bin which makes me personally really sad, but if it means it'll be featured in a future story mode, I'd rather it not be wasted on the lackluster arcade mode of this game.

But is UNI2 a good sequel to the original? I wouldn't say so. Barely any questions from beforehand were answered and more were raised, ones we'll likely never get an answer to if arcade mode is all we got. I don't blame French Bread for focusing on the gameplay aspect since that's what drew most players in to begin with, but it really does hurt as a lore fan.

Ah! I saw this going around, but I was surprised to get one! Both you and @scharfkugel both sent me this and I probably spent way too much time debating whether or not to respond to both or what but nonetheless, thanks to both of you! I love these little games

...though it also makes me very embarrassed coming from you in particular because, possibly as a result of having so many GG mutuals, from what I've seen you all have really interesting classic/alt/eclectic musical tastes and in comparison I feel like an absolute boring normie, but I'll try to think of a couple of good ones!

1. Everyone Else is an Asshole- Reel Big Fish (never thought ska could be so therapeutic, but sometimes you just gotta jam out to some trumpets with a song that's just about how much everyone else sucks)

2. A Little Bit Off- Five Finger Death Punch (another good angry song)

3. The Scientist- Coldplay (ok this is definitely a normie pick but I really like this one. It's one of the few songs I don't mind signing around other people because I can actually match the vocal range)

4. Prison Sex- Tool (fucked up as it is it's got a really good beat. I absolutely recommend the music video to anyone who hasn't seen it though I'd absolutely say to skip it if you're squeamish)

1. Why do you like/dislike this character?

I like him because he’s a piece of shit asshole and a really good souls boss trope, Guy destroyed by the result of his own ambition and hubris. In a game with a ton of ruined/lost civilisations in it his is the only one completely run to destruction by its own ruler. Not even influenced by the shards of humanity or wtv he did that shit all by himself and immediately DIED and wasn’t even fully there to witness the ruin of his own kingdom.

or you could say it was worse that his spirit was trapped there even after death in the remnants of his failed ambition. either way there is something special about that to me. I hate this capitalist bastard

12. What’s a headcanon that you have for this character?

which one do i talk about.

going to say his marriage to Mytha was political (I don’t know about the whole mytha = princess of venn thing but I will believe it was either political for connection or political for “I’m marrying the queen of the area I conquered”)

HOWEVER anyway the main point of my hc is that while he never intended to, he did grow to love her at some point, before he got too distracted by this you know pursuit of power or whatever.

and yes he was also in love with his most trusted knight but Alonne was all “I must serve this duty for my samurai honor” or w/e and never noticed he thought it was normal

25. What was your first impression of this character? How about now?

My first impression of this character was “I hate the hole in his arena” and “who the hell is this big demon (sexy)”

My current impression of this character is literally everything insane that I mentioned plus everything I didn't, which is fantasy style politics and speculation about his kingdom and how he built it and his relationships before they deteriorated. All random shit I overthought about when I was playing through the iron king dlc for the first time reading every description I could to make up for how hard the area was beating my ass. I think he’s tragic and a shithead who died unloved and in ruin and maybe he deserved it

-Tekken 6! It was a huge part of my childhood because I played it a lot. I main Lillie and Asuka on the side.

A big part of why I remember it so much was because my mom always played it with me and my siblings! She mained Julia and she was surprisingly good.

-Over late April-August I played UNIST almost everyday! But right now I do play every now and then, though not nearly as much. I play BBTAG when I have nothing to do.
