The way Scully is almost always there in the hospital when Mulder gets hurt, you just know a doctor has been like "give him this medication" and its something you can't even pronounce and Scully is like "he's allergic to that." And Mulder is like "I am??"

And she explains to him that hes allergic to an ingredient in the drug and the doctor is like "and how would you know that?" And Scullys like "I'm a medical doctor."

Basically

Scully: you're allergic to that

Mulder: I am??

This line Sebek says, which some fan translators have translated to “the market has been held here since ancient times” gives me the implication that Skully may have been spirited away into the book long before the nrc students found it and was just meandering around hinterlands unaware of how much time has passed.

Skully recollects going to a used book market and getting spirited into the book like them, but who knows if he was even in their vicinity or not.

Skully also supposedly doesn’t know what a magical pen is nor who Malleus is, which if he were hypothetically from a different time period or dead, would put him before Malleus’s hatching 170+ years ago and before the innovation of putting mage stones on handheld objects

The other option is that Skully is lying or bending the truth a bit to gain the trust of the group, which could be the case but it would be a cool twist for a character to be trapped in those magic books and never find a way out the way the main boys do.

bad blood is one hell of an episode. it literally opens with mulder straight-up murdering a regular teenager via stake-through-the-heart and he and scully are like pretty sure the FBI is going to be sued and they're going to be doing some serious jail time. except both of them remember the story differently. scully's story is predictably logical and straight-forward. the killer was drugging his victims before bleeding them out, mimicking a vampire attack by wearing fake fangs (which are proven to be fake. this is crucial. this kid was wearing plastic fangs when mulder stabbed him. in the chest. with a wooden stake.) what is also crucial is that mulder was a victim of this murderer's attack and so he was tripping hard when scully intercepts the killer. mulder - whilst tripping balls - is convinced that the killer has glowing eyes and flew across the room before running out the door. and so - whilst tripping balls - he gives chase and ends up stabbing the kid through the heart with a wooden stake.

and of course this is the x files and so while scully and mulder are arguing over who gave who the hardest time in their percieved series of events, it turns out that mulder was right. the kid was a vampire and the stake didn't actually kill him. the fangs were fake because he was copying the sorts of vampires that you see in books and on tv. he was a real vampire.

and it's not just the kid. there are bunches of vampires, including the sheriff. the whole town are just. vampires. the lot of 'em. and the second they're found out, they just up and leave without a trace.

sometimes the extent to which mulder turns out to be right in this show is borderline ludicrous, it's amazing, I love it. but what was even better was that the biggest point of contention between scully and mulder's stories wasn't even the vampire thing, it was whether or not the sheriff was actually hot.

now what i really love about bad blood (besides everything else about bad blood) is how EXPRESSIVE scully is when we see her in mulder-vision. maybe because they're so in tune, maybe because he's a phenomenal profiler, maybe because he loves her. he just sees through all of the guards she puts up so easily

I like to believe that during the secret season of sex Mulder and Scully were discreet but not hiding their relationship particularly during out of town cases. They always had separate rooms yes but it wasn’t uncommon for them to share. As much as I like and accept the common fanon of an established rule of not having sex during cases, I think realistically they just had it when they wanted it.

I think on occasion a witness or local law enforcement would flirt with Mulder or Scully and they’d politely answer ‘yes I’m sorry’ to the inquiring “oh I didn’t realize you’re seeing someone…” Or early morning liaisons would run into the two of them having breakfast and witnessing some light hand holding or the even more incriminating: drinking from the same drink or sharing a bite from the same fork.

Housekeeping at some point or other came into Scully’s room for cleaning seeing it spotless, and Mulder’s head poking into the adjoining door to let them know “thanks but no need for this room today —- oh and… how many?..” his head craning toward his bathroom where a shower is running and scully’s voice trails out, and with a small nod “but could we get some fresh towels? We’ll be out of this one in a few minutes.”

Local PD investigating 2 terrains: the crime scene and MSR - piecing together picture after picture. Scully shifting the items in her hands straight into Mulder’s, who dutifully holds them as well as her, as she braces herself against his arm to inspect the bottom of her shoe. Mulder answering Scully’s phone and then slipping it into her pocket. A med tech overhearing phone conversations like “I left it on the night stand.”, “I moved it in the bathroom when I showered”, and the ever soft “I didn’t want to wake you.” Nurse aids and hospital staff catching the tail end of quick pecks and smooches after personnel clear out their room.

And on the very very rare occasion, some young lad on the task force tasked as a glorified coffee runner or an entry level secretary to the secretary of a large PD with way too many employees —- asks Scully/Mulder point blank or refers to them as their “partner” but in the distinct romantic sense and they give an honest, shy affirmative “yes”.

Having thoughts on Mulder and how his relationship with Scully is the only one in which he actually gets someone who is honest with him and doesn’t use him or manipulate him and how so many people, even his own parents, continue to lie and withhold information and how conflicted he must feel and how he feels so guilty whenever something happens to Scully because she is so good, and, in his opinion, too good for him, but she continuously stays with him, being honest with him, being truthful, and while they have had their ups and downs, they continuously go back to each other because they find so much comfort in each other, especially with how they have both been used, and how they have been there for each other since their very first case, I just- these two I swear, it’s such a beautiful relationship.
