my first attempt at making a seamless repeating pattern! You can see how some of the elements go off the sides▫️◽◻️ I could've probably made it more dynamic but it was hard enough to do this as is 😅 looking forward to more experiments!!

In Washington County, Maine, nothing says winter's almost here, more than a flock snow buntings over red blueberry fields. 'Twas the inspiration for this third Maine animals-in-winter-themed seamless pattern design. Planning sets of holiday cards for next year.

I MADE A SYSTEM TO MAKE SEAMLESS PATTERNS WANNA HEAR
First u make a 2 × 2 grid of squares like this!! They HAVE to be squares so that the base texture is a nice square that can be replicated nicely
Then u fill one of the squares with a sample of the texture u wanna make. I usually start with top right one but any work tbh.
After that, you copy paste that texture onto one of the other squares nearby. You make some adjustments so that nothing overlaps with anything.
Once that's done, u take the most recent version of that and copy paste it onto the next square! The trick is that, with this method, you'll be sure that the texture u have will blend seamlessly, as u touch it up on the sides and top!
Did this one or two times on Krita and it worked just fine! Other apps with a pattern making option [like ibispaint who lets u repeat an image as a pattern] should do the job too!
