Something that has been driving me insane about the credits are these sections with the fish so please bear with me whilst I do a mini deep dive (hehe) into fish discourse because YO, we need to talk about these fish!

Notice how at the beginning of the credits we actually have two white fish swimming along beside one another; one with bright turquoise eyes and the other with black.

A little while later the fish begin to circle each other and a droplet falls into the water between them. As the disturbance ripples out from the center, one of the fish dives deeper into the water and changes its colour to black; symbolizing Geto's change and descent into darkness

Then we have this heartbreakingly beautiful moment with Gojo and Geto:

I cannot stop thinking about how long Gojo watches the black fish for as it swims across the screen, whereas Geto's eyes are lowered the moment the white fish appears and he closes them as it swims past.

Gojo cannot bear to tear his eyes away, whilst Geto cannot bear to look

Throughout the credits, Gojo and Geto have been making their way towards each other through the pouring rain (or mostly sitting and waiting in Geto's case). At the end, they meet each other under a bridge and as they walk away together we see the fish a final time, swimming together again in a puddle formed by the heavy rain.

Geto walks on the left in the light, as the white fish swims close to his head, almost invisible in the brightness of the light. Whilst Gojo walks on the right in the shadow with the black fish swimming further away but still close by.

The fish speed after the two men before disappearing completely under the water just before the camera pans up and we watch as Gojo pulls Geto in for a hug as they walk away, before he's playfully shoved away by Geto.

There's a lot going on the credits (+ opening) that is absolutely killing me but man, these fish?! Breathtaking.

btw Still thinking about the moment where Tula first realizes she's literally, mechanically unable to keep up with / catch Jaysohn when he bolts and runs his full speed. That revelation that she's not fast enough to stop him, or get alongside him, much less get in front of him to protect him if he needed it. The dread terror of it. :(

So are the Big Bads of Junior Year going to be the Rat Grinders? AKA kids who leveled up 'the normal way' by doing a bunch of quests, grinding, taking on any enemy to get more powerful, but because of the 'luck' and 'opportunities' given to other kids (ie the Bad Kids) aren't being lauded or appreciated like they expected so they're taking it out on the Bad Kids, have taken advantage of it the summer they were gone, and are doing what they can to punish them for 'being rewarded despite failing at what's expected of them, despite actually saving the world'.

I wonder if all the members of Rat Grinders have classes that reflect those of the Bad Kids? We already know they have a rogue and a bard...

I love dnd and actual play shows but I do tend to get a lil bored when a battle goes on for a while so thank god d20 moved away from the storytelling and battle being their own respective episodes. I really like the blend of the two they’ve been doing for junior year.

Orel used to read the passage of the The Boy Who Cried Wolf to an obsessive degree though he couldn't liken to the boy in the story's compulsive lying 𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐩 .

He has equated the characteristics of a wolf to his father . Only claiming any depiction he had made of the beastly mawed creature in his own homemade stop motion film , claiming that of a dog . His way of denying it not only to his father , no, to himself too . That was until his father's nature revealed itself raw in the open exposure of the woods during this hunting trip , Orel had tried to limp away while his father lies in a drunken stupor... it's a fools errand the only way back home was by car and he was not in any state to walk that many miles , he has a tourniquet over the offending wound in the form of a tight rag from his ripped sleeve at least .. still he needed medical attention .

He's exhausted , injured and afraid when his eyes spot @lonetala in the dark , a heave of his chest as he tries to still his heart , grabbing the cloth at that side of his chest . ❝   Okay , okay , it's going to be okay . ❞ He leans up against the tree , hoping to stay hidden and out of sight . Pistol clutched tightly to his chest . Orel would honestly sooner die than shoot another creature , ... though he had to do the hard thing before . ❝   Please stay away. I don't want to hurt you ... ❞
