so....i caved

all the girls at school have been pointing out to me all year how pale i am. whether they straight up tell me or r like "omg if i was pale id DIE like id be soooo sad" they all use spray tans or if ur one girl in my history class speedrun skin cancer by covering herself in olive oil (the most expensive cooking oil where i live) and lay in the sun all day to roast. either way theyre all tan and i unfortunately inherited my fathers eastern european genes instead of my mas italian genes in that regard. so today i was at the local CVS after school and saw that in the clearence section there was a bottle of Jergans Instant Sun Self Tanner and i caved and bought it. i did a tiny swatch on my upper thigh and it was surprisingly really nice and natural, so i used it everywhere. i think it looks hella natural and i like it :) im def not as dark or orange as the girls at school lol except maybe my palms theyre a bit orange but other than that i think it looks alright. if u want a nice lil smthn smthn i reccomend it. its def better than laying out for hours cooking in the sun lol

Many of us don't have the luxuries of spending our winters down south and getting gorgeous tans while laying on the beach, but that doesn't mean we have to stay pale!

There are hundreds of great self tanners out there made for all different skin types and tones to cater to your individual person. Their prices tend to range between 15-50+ dollars, but how do we know what's best?

From my personal experience, sticking with Australian brands has never let me down. Here's a list of my top favs:

Lamav self tanning Lotion-$34.00 (The only certified organic tanning product from Australia)

Bondi Sands self tanning drops-$17.95

St Tropez self tan Luxe tan tonic drops-$39.99

Bondi Sands TechnoColor self tanning 1 hour express foam-$36.96 (One of my personal all time favourites that comes in multiple shades)

*TIP* Whether it's tanning drops, lotion or foam, I find it best to always follow the instructions on the bottles to make sure proper usage as well as investing in a tanning glove/mitt. Tanning mitts make a huge different when blending the product into your skin for an evenly distributed tan and prevent you from staining your hands in the process!

i just have to say im really proud of myself for turning it around this year.

So far ive got a new routine for daily self care that I have been maintaining really well. Bought new body mist that smells amazing and have been using up my self tanner. Also started whitening my teeth.

And I’m maintaining my weight which felt impossible before!

Been on a really persistent house cleaning routine too.
