We need a few headcanons how each ego (well, the egos who could fit with the babie) would interact and spend the day with them in order to get closer to them with the few days Captain Magnum being around while he slowly lets the babie on their own the egos but has like, an eye on them y'know? - Illinois

     - simple boy, simple approach

     - he just gets as close as BB will allow and gently places an offering on the ground between them

     - the offerings will vary, either fish, shiny, or other food he thinks they’d enjoy

     - If they take it, he’ll ask one question, they’ll answer to the best of their ability, and then he’ll chill with them in silence until one of them leaves

     - If they don’t take it, he knows to either A. pick a better gift next time  or B.  leave them alone for the next day or so cause they’re probably in a bad mood

      - He only asks one question a day, which really helps bb selkie not feel overwhelmed

- The Host

       - This one is completely by chance

       - BB, overwhelmed by the sheer noise of the main house, accidentally found the Host’s library but liked how quiet it was

       - The Host knew they were there but Saw that they wouldn’t cause trouble  and just wanted to be somewhere quiet for a bit so he let them be

       - BB was a little awed by how many books they saw filling the library, but not knowing how to read kept them from picking any up

       - Eventually they wandered deep enough into the library where they could hear The Host’s low murmurs as he wrote

       - They liked the constant sound of his voice, soft enough to be audible but  not loud enough to really hear what he was saying, and decided to stay right there for the day

        - Eventually, the sound of his voice put them to sleep and The Host smiled a bit, thinking it was nice that someone enjoyed his presence for once

- Poison Ivy (they’re an ego fight me)

         - This one is less of an accident but still not on purpose

         - Ivy was working in the greenhouse when they heard the door creaking open and tiny footsteps entering

         - He thinks “oh god its that kid the pirate brought they’re gonna get eaten or eat something, for fucks sake I just wanted a quiet day”

         - Telling the orchid he was working with to hang on a second, he goes to chase the kid out

          - Instead of tiny chaos on legs however, he finds a very small seal next to his anemone tank

          - a little confused, he just stares a bit before going to gently pick up the seal so that they could see the inside of the tank a bit better.

          - weaving some vines together to make a little hammock for them, he hangs the seal in the hammock next to the tank, and starts to check on the plants nearby, wanting to stick around and ensure the seal doesn’t break anything

          - After about twenty minutes, he hears snuffling from the seal, and he    turns around, curious. He does not expect to see the seal crying

          - Not being good with emotions, he doesn’t know what to do for a bit

          - In the end, he just asks some marigolds to bloom on the vine hammock and softly tells the seal that if they ever miss the sea too much, they could come here and sit with the anemones and he won’t mind. Promise.

          - He goes back to working with the orchid after that, and next time he walks back towards the tank, the hammock is empty.

why was i so attached to the idea of ebsau being my magnum opus??? i’m 21. thats BLOCKMAN FANFIC. i should just have fun with it and make sure i finish it. it felt so monumentously important months ago like i had to flesh it out and like there couldnt be a word out of place but

i just started writing an oc novella i’m having so much fun with. clearly sometimes u have all these personal battles that you put into your fics, but i don’t need to force it into ebsau if its just gonna hinder its completion. theres oc work and value in that as well.

maybe fanfic is just for dumb selkie aus and writing thinly veiled comparisons of phil to hagrid. doesnt have to be so serious and reflective of me as a person and as a writer

1. Of the fics you’ve written, which is your favorite and why?

Sticking with GoT fics, because all the asks are from GoT people so far... Oh, this is so hard? The smutty character study ficlets are objectively really good work and I love them a lot for being easy, and yonder will probably be my magnum opus if I can fucking stick the landing, and on pure self-indulgence the Brienne/Addam ficlets are definitely near the top. And I could so easily argue for the selkie fic, or the insanity of the modern AUs, or...

Look, what I’m saying is that writing is deeply frustrating and I often hate the results, but I also love the results and hold them dear to me.

Name: for the sake of this, Red

Fandom: So many...sooo many...but as far as writing? Lucifer and Magnum, PI the reboot dominate the sheer numbers, but I also dipped my toes in the MCU with a couple one shots, Agents of SHIELD, the 100, Doctor Who, Common Law, Merlin, White Collar...Iron Fist/Daredevil. Probably others, but that’s without looking. 

Where you post: AO3 and fanfic.net. I definitely appreciate both crowds, but I probably read more now on AO3, but I post simultaneously to both accounts. 

Most popular one shot: Only Human in the Lucifer fandom, which was actually the first exchange gift I ever did. 

Most Popular Multi-Chapter Story: Damnatio Memoriae, also Lucifer fandom. Probably the first fic I ever wrote that gained any level of popularity, and now it’s become this boogeyman in my writing closet because I just have one chapter to finish it and wrap up a 140k word epic, but I kinda don’t want to see it go, and have been staring at it for like 2 years at this point debating going back and editing the note saying I was gonna do one more chapter, or just finally give one last one. 

Favourite Story You Wrote: Oooohh....hmm. That’s a toughie. Because like most, I have a favorite within a fandom. Like Damnatio is forever going to be my baby. I should post at some point how that story was actually SUPPOSED to go, and then it developed a life of it’s own and awwwaaaaay we went. I love Running Up That Hill for Agents of SHIELD which is one massive fix it fic because I was so blindingly enraged by what they did with Ward. I love Icarus in the teeny tiny Deception fandom because it’s the first time I really tried to write a dissociate episode and I kind of love how it turned out, and I love Wrong Side of Heaven in the Magnum PI fandom because it’s the first story I haven’t had some level of fantasy or sci fi to fall back on, and it’s a topic near and dear to me from my military service (and it is ALSO turning out to be a massive fix it fic and an excuse to write without the main female character in the show who I have come to despise). 

Story You Were Nervous to Post: I’m ALWAYS a bit anxious when I post, period. But probably Wrong Side, just because I have so much invested in it, I want to convey what being a POW of the Taliban would actually be like, instead of glossing over it like it was a minor inconvenience like the show has. 

How You Choose Your Titles: With very little thought. Icarus was from a random comment in the story about soaring too high, Damnatio was an episode title from Teen Wolf, and I also tend to just pick one word titles. Sometimes I regret the titles I pick later, but eh. Not enough to change them. 

Do You Outline: Not really. And I’m kinda glad I don’t, because my stories have veered violently and wonderfully away from their original plots. Damnatio would’ve been 10 chapters and very cut and dry, no mystery to it; Running would’ve ended the second that Fitz and Ward were rescued...however. That being said, I have heavily plotted out Wrong Side, because I have written it incredibly out of order, AND I don’t have the benefit of Magic existing to wrap up what I don’t want to think about. 

Complete (Stats): Ugh. Does this mean complete stats or stats on completed works?

Lucifer fic of no title that is a series of one shots with Lucifer and Chloe being advocates/law enforcement for the supernatural in LA (selkie gets her coat stolen by a stalker, they have to go retrieve it kind of thing)

Untitled GOTG fic for @rohanrider3 about people being after Peter for his Celestial side and I rip off my favorite tropes of ‘fun character in peril turns out to have some rage issues’ from FMA and Avatar the Last Airbender. 

Do You Accept Prompts: Sure. Not a lot of people submit them, but when I asked for people to participate in ‘choose your own adventure’ style for fics, the audience has entertained my lunacy and given good ideas, and they respond to Bad Things Happen Bingo prompt requests, but other than that....not a lot of people send me prompts out of the blue (FYI, I really like them, though sometimes I’m just slow at filling them).

Barnes Home For Wayward Kids (Bucky keeps showing up at home with orphans and so he and Steve just end up with like a whole house of them. It’s also probably going into the fanfic mortuary cause it hasn’t been touched since uhhhh last year?) 

Werewolf Cap Merica F* Yeah (What it says on the tin! The serum is actually lycanthropy. Steve jumps out of things and gives Bucky heart attacks. It is exactly what people should expect from me tbh.) 

Found Baby AU (I WILL ONE DAY FINISH THIS ONE I SWEAR. It features Vet!Bucky who finds a baby in a dumpster and ends up in Pediatrician!Steve’s office at like 1 am and IT IS JUST A LOT OF SOFTNESS AND ONE DAY I WILL FINISH IT.)

Party Goblin Sequel (One time, years ago, I wrote a fic called Adulthood Is Just A Myth -shameless plug!- and it didn’t do incredibly well despite my love for it at the time buuuut I’ve had a sequel planned for it since pretty much the moment I finished it. It involves Bucky losing his arm because I’m a terrible person, and like the exploration of disability and Steve being a disabled person dealing with the person he loves dealing with disability. It’s still funny, because I’m me, but it will also take forever and a day for me to ever finish it because I am Bad At writing things that are overly close to me.)

Practical Magic AU (Listen I have craved a Practical Magic AU for YEARS. So I started one a couple months back, but then wearing_tearing went and wrote one because they are a fic writing goddess so now I DON’T NEED TO. But it’s still sitting in my WIP folder so maybe one day I’ll actually finish it under the Two Cakes rule.) 

IW FIX IT (I had a lot of feelings after seeing Infinity War??? And I wanted to fix them??? But this is another one that’ll probably go into the fic mortuary because I have NO CLUE what I was planning to do with it.) 

MAJOR REWORK NEEDED great american roadtrip (Once upon a time, December 11th 2016 to be exact, at least according to the document details, I sat down to write an epic fanfic where two old assholes went on a road trip, saw the grand canyon, went camping, and also kept up with their therapy via phone appointments.) 

both fall of train au (you think both fall off the train aus mean they both get captured by HYDRA? THINK AGAIN. Because what is TRAGEDY? I CAN’T WRITE ANGST so this shit is just Steve and Bucky fall off the train together and both wake up in the 21st century and Have To Adjust. Basically it’s the story of how Where The Heart Is!Bucky and Steve go on vacation and end up taking down the leftover bits of HYDRA instead. Also Bucky’s instagram is featured a lot. This one actually has a lot written already so like, I wanna finish it eventually.)
