Breaking News process

For my final outcome, I knew I wanted to create a zine taking inspiration from Lorraine O'Grady's work as well as my own experiments with newspaper cut-ups. After some planning I decided my zine was going to emulate a traditional newspaper but play around with the subversion of Blue Jam and my previous cut up poems. I chose three sections for my zine as I felt this would help me narrow down my contents- headlines, puzzles and ads. I began with the crosswords as I had made some before and knew how time consuming they could be. I had the idea to use he words from my word map in the crossword as I knew I didn't want to do a normal crossword. I chose the words from the word map, as I thought it would be funny if all of the words were synonyms of each other.
