Round 1 Poll 44: Just A Joke

Animaniacs submission:

That Wakko Warner is canonically non-binary, there was a joke in one of the comics in which he lists his gender as “other” which resulted in many fans headcanoning him as non-binary, enough that people started claiming it was canon.

Sesame Street submission:

Okay, I guess this is actually people OUTSIDE the "fandom" spreading it but it's the first thing I think of. Some years back there was a skit where a news reporter was interviewing Cookie Monster and asked if it was true he was changing his name to Veggie Monster because he ate veggies sometimes. And the answer was that it was NOT true, cookies are still Cookie Monster's favorite food, but Cookie understands that they are a Sometimes Food and he has to eat a balanced diet too. But a bunch of people saw just the "headline" and were all "Cookie Monster doesn't eat cookies anymore! He's Veggie Monster! Sesame Street got all Woke and now they won't let Cookie Monster eat cookies!" (Newsflash, btw, Sesame Street was specifically DESIGNED for the start to be "Woke, " but anyway). And now like over a decade later you STILL hear people saying that Cookie Monster is Veggie Monster now, when it was a JOKE in ONE SKIT something like 15 years ago. It just gets on my nerves, because they say it so confidently, too.

This poll is not here to give an excuse for transphobia, so don't you dare use it as one!

Today’s special guests: Floyd Leech and Mini Azul! It’s ABC’s with Cookie Monster!

I had so much with the first one I HAD to make another. I imagine Floyd acquired a puppet version of Azul and he would mimic him on set all day to annoy other students and mostly Azul 😭 Being on Sesame Street would probably be the best day of his life.

Cookie is cutest to me when he’s less person shaped and more like a bear or something like in this picture. Idk i think it’s so adorable that he’s just this huge monster creature who Hungers but in a nice polite manner because he likes to make friends and has a soft spot for the little babies he frequently encounters- that clip of him going HELLO LITTLE ABBYYY all sweet comes to mind
