CREATING GLOW SHADER!
By the time I got around to writing this shader, I was more or less comfortable working in Shaderlab, and I could pretty much experiment with different unlit shaders on my own.
Note that I said "unlit," because I could not get the shaders to interact with Unity's 2D Lights!
Anyhow, I will go in-depth about that in the next blog. For now, I just created a glow shader using the logic from a Shadergraph tutorial and converted it into Cg code myself.

Using ShaderLab to enhance the look of Wilderness Games Wilderness Games uses low poly meshes so that it can simulate an expansive open world full of animals (and puzzles). To enhance the imagery of this virtual art medium, I wrote a shader for the game using ShaderLab. The result is a cartoon effect that uses it’s own built-in vertex color lighting system. The lighting effect on each shader is controlled by an external script I wrote in C# that manages the entire dynamic sky and weather system for the game.

Learn Unity Shaders from Scratch
Learn Unity Shaders from Scratch
In this course we’re going to look at Unity ShaderLab and the HLSL shading language to create amazing shaders. Maybe you are a developer struggling to bring to life a particular game feature because it needs a custom shader. a developer who always wanted to create custom shaders but was too scared to start. a developer wanting to add some custom post-processing effects to your 3d…

Dev Log #3
WRITING MY FIRST SHADER
Writing my first shader was absolutely a challenge. Besides struggling with Unity documentation, it was difficult to comprehend fully how mathematical concepts can be visualized on the screen.
Documentations for Cg aren't often found on Unity, I would have to locate the UnityCG.cginc source file because methods' functionalities are only documented within the code itself.
Then, there was the problem of my project being 2D! This problem would ultimately lead to one of the biggest roadblocks I had during this entire project.
2D Unity projects fit into a very specific mold, and you have to know and understand Unity's 2D rendering pipeline to utilize it to its full potential.
At the time, my Sprites would always return jagged, and there would be black patches where the sprite should be transparent. I spent around 2 days researching this issue, and I cannot stress this enough: There is very little information on writing 2D shaders using Unity Shaderlab.
Eventually, I came across this tutorial which tackles the same problem that I had.

Essentially, you have to set the Blend Mode to Blend One OneMinusSrcAlpha and multiply your output's RGB channels by its Alpha channel. It's sort of hacky and I don't fully know why it works but it helped me with my Sprite Shaders.

Build Your Instagram AR Portal With ARCore & ARKit ##FreeOnlineTraining ##UdemyFreeCourses #AR #ARCore #ARKit #Build #Instagram #Portal Build Your Instagram AR Portal With ARCore & ARKit Have you ever wanted to build a crazy Augmented Reality app and learn at the same time ? You came to the right place. By taking this course, you will be able to build your private Instagram AR Portal Room that shows your top 5 Instagram pictures. You will learn how to build cross platform AR apps that run ARCore and ARKit at the same time . It is possible thanks to AR Foundation! AR Foundation is a multi-platform API that allows us to develop cross platform AR apps. With AR Foundation, you develop once and build to both Android and IOS saving you time and energy. This course is built with the latest Unity version which is Unity 2018.3 ! By enrolling this course, we will learn lots of different things and combine them into a beautiful AR app: In this first section, we will get started with AR Foundation and build a simple AR Foundation app which is HelloAR. In the second section, we will get started with Shader coding using Unity's ShaderLab and write our own Shader to get a portal effect. Then, we will write Portal script from scratch. This script will get us into the Portal. Then, we will integrate AR Foundation into our project and build two apps; one that runs ARCore and one that runs ARKit. After that, we will write PortalPlacer and PlaneController scripts from scratch. These scripts are fundamental scripts that should be used by other AR Apps as well. In the third section, we will get started with Instagram API and we will integrate Instagram API into Unity. Then, we will get your most liked 5 Instagram pictures by comparing the likes count of each Instagram picture. After that, we will show your TOP Five Instagram picture inside our Portal Room along with your profile picture and username. So, this course will teach not only Augmented Reality but also working with APIs and Shaders inside Unity 2018.3. You will code your own Shader, parse JSON, download pictures, write fundamental AR scripts... All of them will be done from scratch ! Take this course and learn Augmented Reality in a cool way... :-) Who this course is for: Beginner AR developers who want to master ARCore/ARKit using AR Foundation. Intermediate Unity developers who want to get started with Augmented Reality.
