Holden Sandman, 1977. The most iconic of all Australian panel vans was the Sandman that was based on multiple "H" generation Holden Utes from the HQ in 1974 through to the HZ ending in 1980 (HX is pictured). They were colloquially referred to as "Shaggin' Wagons" due to their popularity with young heterosexual couples. They came with the GTS sports instrumentation, a sports steering wheel, bucket seats, and the exterior consisting of rally wheels with the "Sandman" Logo painted on B pillars and body side stripes. The name was revived for a concept panel van based on the VU series Commodore in 2000 but it never made it into production

Do you think artist David Wenzel is pulling from the 1980 Rankin/Bass "The Return of the King" film? The graphic novel came out in 1989, so it seems very possible to me that Wenzel saw the animated film.

For reference, here are the Rankin/Bass orcs:

I wonder because the standard fantasy orc or goblin as defined broadly in pop culture by Dungeons & Dragons at this time usually didn't have a domed mouth, they tended to resemble pigs instead (sort of like how kobolds were dog boys for a while before they became lizzers), while this is core to the Rankin/Bass design.

I've had this design of Home Sitting in the works for a very long time now!! Home is a Hippie van!! Groovy lives in it and travels around! Home is very expressive! Using lots of beeps and honks and other car sounds to communicate!! I picture them being able to move and express themselves like the Bus from The Magic School Bus I'm very happy that Home is now a Mobile Home They are also lovingly called The Love Shack You know the inside has a water bed, and groovy lava lamps and FUZZY DICE (Groovy loves these things) (and there must be a beaded curtain in there too) Sometimes Groovy likes to set up a blanket on the roof and gaze at the stars UWU

Bonus, Home can move his eyes to any of his windows!!
