Just thinking of Kaeya and how much guilt he actually carries within him.

Guilt for lying to the people that took care of him.

Guilt for telling the truth in the wrong time.

Guilt for serving a nation that he shouldn't be recognizing as his, and guilt for still wanting to know more of his birth nation- one that could someday ruin the peace and safety of the home that took him in.

Guilty for the jealousy in his heart when faced with the youth and innocence he sees in Klee.

Guilty for his incapability to be truthful to those he loves, and how easy it is for him to lie to their faces.

Kaeya just feels guilty in general.

For the last half year, I've watched @pinkcupboardwitch periodically wax rhapsodic here on the delights of chai tea. Having finally taken the plunge I can report apparently I shall be learning the intricacies of brewing chai because I'm thoroughly hooked. I had a chai latte, rather than the straight tea, but some cursory googling informs me milk is the best complement to the flavors, so fortune smiled in that regard.

Two things surprised me most: what a full sensory experience it was, and just. how well flavors my very American self wouldn't put together naturally gel. The spice aroma almost scared me off: it was strong and I'm not used to teasing out cinnamon and cardamom etc. When my nose smells "strong" I instinctively default to pepper and oh, hell it's going to be _hot rather than flavorful. But once I took that first tiny sip--think kid inching their toe into water and you'll have a good idea--and the flavor burst, not exactly sweet but bright and rich across my tongue, I started prolonging the experience. Inhaling the spice became aslow prelude, sweetening the anticipation of the flavors bursting across my pallet again.

I like wine, but I'll be honest. About all I can smell when I try to "discern its bouquet" is sharp and acid, to the point I have to work actively not to inhale because I know I'll enjoy the flavor once it's on my tongue if the aroma doesn't put me off entirely first. But this was strong, bracing and made me want to go sniff cardamom and ginger etc. to se if I can untangle the individual notes.

And erm. ginger is actually quite good in certain combinations, apparently? My (again very American. very southern.) take on ginger was too sharp, too _bitter in all the dishes I'd had it in except gingerbread but well. we Southern folks put so much sugar in gingerbread, I figured it could cover up *anything*. I couldn't imagine how vanilla would clash with what I expected to be a bitter ginger note. So I was delighted to learn that ginger, in small quantities, actually seems to contribute to the brighter notes, cutting through some of the sweet richness of the milk and (maybe) cardamom and vanilla along with the cinnamon.

When I've had coffee, I'm the kind of person who has to spice it up: yeah, I'm drinking coffee, I'll say as I drink something decadent with peppermint and white chocolate and a coffee base--it's less about the coffee than the frills, downplaying coffee's strength rather than complementing it. (My subsequent google made me cackle, because apparently a lot of coffee people actually really love black tea, and I couldn't find them more different. Mom was a coffee person, so I tried a fair bit of it and without an infusion of something, it was always so _bitter to me. But the dregs of the cup--which I figure come closest to the original tea flavor just tasted a little nutty, but so _fresh. Just such a different flavor profile, at least for me.)

#trying very hard to be more adventurous this year. and am doubly proud of myself for this one because I grew up the kind of poor where #a five dollar drink was “rich people luxuries”. it doesn't matter that I'm now secure enough a whimsical cup of tea purchase isn't #going to make me short on anything the rest of the week. when you get the habit that daring to try anything could be a waste of money you #wish you had back in three days. it's hard as hell to shake: one of the million and one ways #poverty #flat out stifles the adventure and curiosity that makes life fun--Dad bless him has spent the last four years #assuring me I don't have to be frugal every second of every day at least here in the short-term and it is slowly. painfully sinking in #but 'retraining your brain takes work' is the cliched advice I find truest #mental health stuff

just had possibly the worst nightmare of my life. yippee ^-^ <- is so horrified they are numb

#the contents of it were not rly ''that bad'' (?) but the realistic aspect of it is the terrifying thing for me #haha that moment when ur mother is into alternative health/diet and she makes u drink a bit of bleach #bc she convinces you that you're crazy and dismissive for ever thinking that cleaning fluids are Always and Only bad to drink.#so u drink a little bit of it to get her off ur back and bc u feel bad and crazy for dismissing it entirely #and then u start dying a few minutes later ^-^#and she gets angry at you for crying and ''rushing'' your dad when he drags his feet getting u all to the hospital ^-^#meanwhile she is also very obviously dying but she is so convinced that she is correct abt her ''research'' that she refuses to admit it!#very cool ^-^#and by very cool i mean this has been added to the collection of nightmares that haunts me for the my life!#and is going to be one of the kind that make it very difficult for me to be around my mother for the next few days before i shake it off!#it is mainly just upsetting how realistic that all is. like all that Could happen so easily its insane. what the fuck !!!#i feel like the contents were not that bad but idk honestly. like. yeah it was bad but I've had much worse ?#its mainly the realism that's making it So bad for me #anyways i dont really want to go back to sleep fhfhdksl but I'll have gotten three hours of sleep if i dont #and um. i need more sleep SBFBDKL #urghhhh i should try to sleep more probably. i dont generally have worse nightmares when i go back to sleep after a bad one #sometimes i do ! but not usually fbfjdl i guess i shall risk it #abuse tw #death tw #pippen needs 2nd breakfast #ask to tag

sneepy cozy....

#cats #(medical stuff mention for tags)#poasting confortable image of boye for peace and serenity and such forthe #I have little weird episodes sometimes where I get shaky (but like violently like 'would spill a drink if you were holding it beacuse #your hands are moving so much' type shaky) and weird and sick feeling but usually it passes in an hour or less. but last night I just #literally couldnt sleep I was shaking so much and my heartrate was up a ton and wouldn't go down even after like 6 hours plus super nausea #so I went to the hospital and now shall wear a heart monitor for a week. which hopefully it's just some weird drastic low blood sugar #event or something and there's nothing actually going on. ekg + ct scan for blod clots + virus panel + almost all of the blood work seems #normal so... aa.......#Though me being so privacy focused hrggh... I basically have a constantly bluetooth connected device around me #since the monitor comes with a cell phone that is constantly transmitting data to the place. which they said they'll call you #if they see anything weird which is also scary. random phone calls... but definitely better than letting an issue go unadressed lol #the phone is also not meant to be more than 10 feet away from the monitor at any time so I put on this old tactical fishing #vest thing thats like navy green with 100 pockets and im just using one of the giant pocketson the side as a phone holder #my enormous silly vest just to keep one little phone #ANYWAY... because I got up early the morning before and didn't sleep at all and spent nearly all day in waiting rooms and such #I have been awake for like 32 hours striaght. which I'm sure also does not help with an elevated heartrate lol #feeling shrimp emotions or whatever people talk about unlocking at a certain level of stress and sleep deprivation #and also no food or water. after a while they brought me like 3 saltines and some ice water but I basically also haven't eaten since 3am #last night and it's 2pm now..#thus............ bapy............. baby boye....... he will help ease all ailments with his baby powers...#And no I dont drink energy drinks or anything with caffiene really I'm afraid of all substances on the planet essentially #My body just likes to become shaky and weird randomly even when I'm not conciously anxious about anything/have had no caffiene/etc #and I guess I'm always more nervous about getting anything heart related checked out because of my arm/shoulder/chest area injury stuff #... i literally have constant chest pain all the time. it moves around but i nearly always have some sort of pain or pressure in my chest #so when people are like 'oh well a little weird heartrate is fine but watch out if you have pain!' it's like... i always do lol.. how am I #supposed to tell the Bad Pain apart from the Always Pain when the descriptions of Bad Pain are very very similar #AAAANYway.... hrghh... i wanted to be very productive and finally post drafts and wrok on things today. but alas..#I can at least post small image of soft boye.. though he recently got into stuff in the bathroom whilst left #alone and knocked things into the toilet.. So perhaps not an innocent and NICE boy.. but still.. a soft one .. beautfile....

#I just woke up from a dream about my birthday that's coming up #and this year this is one of the days that I'd wish that I could just skip #I originally planned to meet up with my parents for lunch #and then go grab a couple drinks with friends in the evening #there's gotta be few things as disheartening as going down your admittedly short list of friends and realising that they all either live to #far away or already have prior commitments on that day #I do realise that it's nobody's fault #and if it is it's my own for a) partially isolating myself #and b) not being at my parents' house this year #but I really can't do the latter #and the former sucks but I can't do anything about it until Sept 10 #so I guess that's just it #nothing I can do about it #a couple days back my parents asked me if we could move the lunch part to after 5 pm bc they've got work stuff that day #which again #not their fault #but I just really can't shake the feeling of how much it sucks that this is the one day in the year where I would like to hang out w/ peopl #and none of them have any time #delete later #if you do know me irl please do me the courtesy of ignoring this
